“We wuz robbed.” Chalabi, Bush and Iran.

(Bumped up from Monday . Pat’s post got short shrift because of server issues, now thankfully resolved. In the middle ad column, don’t miss the video of Pat’s powerful testimony on behalf of Valerie Plame Wilson and the protection of all covert personnel, as well as the ad for his latest novel.)

From Sic Semper Tyrannis. Pat’s latest book is Death Piled Hard: A Tale of the Confederate Secret Services.

Xin_21020223085100000381 "[Al-Hayat]: If you want to describe George Bush, then how would you describe him?

[Chalabi]: A man with very little skill and knowledge.

[Al-Hayat]: He did Iran a great service by toppling Saddam?

[Chalabi]: Iran benefited from toppling Saddam. Bush didn't mean to do it a favor but it was clear that Iran would benefit from Saddam's fall. I am convinced that Saddam would not have fallen except for an implicit agreement between America and Iran.

[Al-Hayat]: This happened?

[Chalabi]: Yes, of course it did.

[Al-Hayat]: Through whom?

[Chalabi]: We worked on this and so did the Supreme Council and Jalal Talbani."

What Chalabi is saying is that he and Iran successfully duped Bush with the help of the neocons.  Chalabi has been a neocon "groupie" since college days.

It has been evident for a long time now that Iran's manipulation of the Bush Adminstration, the neocons, and the Likudniks was the greatest covert action operation since the Cheka created and ran "The Trust" in Lenin's Soviet Union.

It is not often that an agent of influence of the intellect and vision of Ahmad Chalbi decides to "tell all" to a major news outlet.  One can only believe that this is a calculated move on the chessboard of Chalabi's life.  Is this a claim on his part for Iran's gratitude in this hour of its growing power?  How much clearer could his contempt be for GWB?  How ironic that this war so transformed the situation that Iran is now thought to be the major evil…   Talabani?  He has always been inclined toward the Iranians.  His Kurdish faction lives close to the border with Iran.  They patronised him for decades in the periods when he was not patronised by Saddam.

Most of us are children when dealing with the East.

"We wuz robbed," is the truth.

All those families who lost children in this war should remember this statement by Chalabi.  A "Peace and Justice" commission is wanted over who was responsible for torture of prisoners?

How about a real enquiry into who allowed America to be hoodwinked into the Iraq War? The 9/11 Commission was a farce.  This time we should have an enquiry not run by one of the duped…  pl

Whatever happened to the documents seized from Chalabi’s office in Iraq that allegedly showed that he had been in the pay of Iran all along?

  • califlefty

Chalabi has been totally discredited in the past, why should anything he says now hold any sway?

  • Shainzona

“How about a real enquiry into who allowed America to be hoodwinked into the Iraq War? The 9/11 Commission was a farce. This time we should have an enquiry not run by one of the duped.”

    What a statement!

I am just speechless at its clarity and honesty. Wouldn’t you think that this would be the first criteria for any investigation into any issue? Can you imagine Obama’s commissioners if someone started to look into the Bankster scandal? Not a pretty thought.

  • Shainzona

Remember when Chalabi was flown into Bagdad when Bush declared it “taken” – I guess the masses were expected to swarm the streets – probably with olive branches – as Chalabi rode in to save the day, thanks to America.

Funny thing happened on the way to the Green Zone, though. Chalabi was air-lifted out soon after…and very very quietly, if I recall.

“Can you imagine Obama’s commissioners if someone started to look into the Bankster scandal? Not a pretty thought.” What an amazing and incredibly thoughtless non sequitur. For 7 years we struggled to survive the Bush administration. Instead of focusing on finding justice regarding that administration, you want to attack the new administrtaion. Maybe you should give it a couple of years before you blindly condemn it. Just a thought.

  • Peggy Sue

We don’t have a couple of years, James. The banking situation is a scandal and both parties are responsible. We’re being hosed and the pols are wearing smiley faces telling us: now, now children, it will be okay.

    They’re lying.

    What an idi*t 0bot —

No we won’t ignore 0zero for two years — in today’s world TWO YEARS — is a lifetime.

0zero is a Chicago mobster — he’s already looting for his buddies — the guys who bought him.

Now go away and play with yourself.

  • Paula Revere

LMAO Northwest Rain…What I don’t get about the ZeroBots? It’s their world that’s being destroyed too. Since they are clearly barely out of high school, there descendants will be paying for Obama’s reckless, irresponsible spending and destruction of this country for many generations to come. I will never get why they can’t read the truth about the Fraud and get what is being done to us – the systematic and intentional destruction of America and the Dollar.

  • Docelder

That’s the bummer part of socialism… eventually you run out of other people’s money. Then everybody is left standing in the same food lines. Equity… maybe. Fair… not hardly. Fairness would be these socialist loving people actually living in a socialist system. A degree in socialism not from Columbia, but from Havana. That would be fair.

  • Paula Revere

Well, Doc, I’ve always said we should pitch in and buy them one way travel to Cuba and then let them duke it out for Fascist in Chief. I don’t understand why they live in America when they hate it so much??? WTF is that about?

  • ConfusedAmerican

Hey look at what Obama has spend in just 3 months …Heck what is he going to do to us if we ignore him for 2 years…
I dont think I want to go there — Too Scary

  • Docelder

I think it will be like the yapping little dog who one day is just fast enough to catch that car. It won’t be as fun as the yapping dog thought it would be. But, you never know what you have until you lose it.

  • Paula Revere

Well, part of me would love it to happen, just to teach the very unpatriotic haters a lesson. But, then, that means we go to hell with them too. So, we just keep fighting against the crooks and the ZeroBots can thank us later.

  • Shainzona

Ahhhh – I was referencing all politicians and, no, I don’t have a problem criticising the current clown in the White House. They all suck.

As you may have noticed, all of Obama’s economic posse are former banksters themselves. So who will investigate them…oh, that’s right…their friends.

    Same shit – different administration.

  • Docelder

Exactly, they are the same because they function the same way. Both function to further their own agendas. Therefore, they can be complete opposites and in effect be the same. Like your right and left hands… mirror opposites, yet exactly the same in function.

PL, thanks for shining some light back on these issues. I would be grateful to those currently in government to gather the real honest facts on going to war with Iraq, because Bush and his advisers seemed to have been so determined to take Saddam down, that they sought cooked up intelligence and unreliable witnesses, and there are way too many things that happened and were said that were illogical. And can we get the facts on how it is that this war was so poorly managed, and was that the original intent, how could the U.S. be so incompetent in those early years? It’s inconceivable… I agree that the 911 Commission was a charade. It was good to see the video of the testimony you and LJ provided as I had not seen this before.
