Handwriting’s on the Wall … Err, the Questionnaire

I just love Fact Hub — it’s a great way to keep up with the campaign and they had fact checks up immediately, during the debate.  Take a look at something they caught regarding a bit of a flub-up of Obama’s during the debate last night:

Sen. Obama’s Handwriting Appears On Questionnaire Supporting Total Handgun Ban

During the debate, Sen. Obama flatly denied his handwriting appeared on a questionnaire where he expressed his support for a total gun ban:

Gibson: But do you still favor the registration of guns? Do still you favor the licensing of guns? And in 1996, you – your campaign issued a questionnaire. And your writing was on the questionnaire that said you favored a ban on handguns.

Obama: No, my writing was not on that particular questionnaire, Charlie. As I’ve said, I have never favored an all-out ban on hand handguns

Oops!  He got another one wrong guys.  I suppose now he’s going to issue another one of his “what I meant to say was…” memos or deliver one of his famous speeches to undo the damange caused by getting caught out in this blunder, eh?

As for the debate, a friend just sent me the following email about how what they thought of Obama’s answers to some of the questions:

Ha! He didn’t fill out the questionnaire …

he was absent when Wright went wild …

it’s okay for him to hang out with Ayers because Clinton pardoned other people …

he only wears a flag pin when a veteran gives him one …

he’s for a windfall profits tax on oil companies but he voted for Cheney’s energy bill …

he doesn’t take money from federally registered lobbyists but he takes the money they bundle … etc.

    Now just stop it. In the debate last night, Senator Obama told us that it’s wrong to “obsess” over things that he says. We’re supposed to focus on what his handlers say he “meant to say”. It’s a distinction that is so often missed by small town thinkers.

      Perhaps they should just let Axelrod stand next to him. I mean, he doesn’t have the clout Bush had to wear a wire in the debate — but simply having Axelrove on the stage might cut down on those annoying “ummms”. Better yet, I still think that Obama’s fans should just write Axelrove’s name in on the ballot. He may not be as exciting a figure as Obama, but I’m thinking they could just cut out the middleman that way.

        Can you picture an Obama- McCain debate — Obama with Axelrove and a bullpen of other advisors on specific topics versus McCain with Lieberman and Graham to assist. That might actually be fun to watch.

    The fact that Ayers was asked not to attend a conference for “progressive educators” in 2006 because of his radical past, tells you a lot about the people that Obama chooses to associate with.

    Wonder how many other people Obama associates with that are so out of the mainstream that they have to be hidden away like that? So far we have Wright, Rezko, Ayers, the list grows….. Once the media wakes up and starts looking into and reporting on Penny Pritzker’s role in the subprime mess and the failed Superior Bank, and Obama’s bff from Broadway Bank, his closet is going to look like the storeroom for a haunted house.

    Obama is becoming radioactive for the Democrats. Why does the party keep insisting on shoving these candidates down our throats, instead of supporting the ones that can seal the deal (i.e. Edwards, Clinton, Gore)? Yeah, they gave us Gore, but they handled and sanitized him in that DLC way until there was no “Al” left. If they had let him be himself, he could have won enough to render their vote tampering moot.

      I think by the time June rolls around Kennedy, Kerry, Casey, McCaskill, Richardson, Pelosi, Reid and their ilk will be BEGGING Hillary to stay in the race. I have a feeling we have seen only the tip of Mr. Hope’s iceberg of questionable friends/acquaintances. SURELY the Super Delegate’s eyes are WIDE OPEN now.

        Has Reid done anything to help Obama? I thought he had pretty much stayed neutral. I saw the 68-year-old Pelosi on CBS the other day sneering at Bill Clinton for having what she termed a “senior moment.” Wonder what she thinks of Obama’s serial misstatements of the past week or so? Admittedly he’s almost fifty years old, but that’s a little early to be having age-based lapses. Maybe he’s just not experienced enough for a tough presidential campaign.

        I don’t think Pelosi or any of the others you named will care enough about the party to admit they were wrong to back Obama. It is to be hoped voters in the remaining contests and uncommitted automatic delegates will go strongly for Hillary and save us from our idiot party leaders.

          There is a growing campaign to make sure Pelosi is not re-elected. Not sure if Cindy Sheehan is still planning on running against her.

          We need to clean the Senate. It is obvious that with Obama, we will keep the status quo. Ironic isn’t it? Mr. change won’t change a thing. He will already in the bag to Pelosi and the gang.

          Bill and Hillary are amazingly the same people they were ten years ago; outsiders. I remember an Obamabot saying that Hillary was losing all of the Clinton administration people to Obama because they hated her. Later I learned that many these were passed over by Hillary.

          I am certain that Hillary thinks of “La Pelusa” what the rest of the country does, she is ineffective. I swear I was proud of Pelusa but at the same time, I have constant second hand embarrassment when I watch her.

          I believe a time lapse slow speed camera would catch Pelusa eyeballing herself every two seconds while making believe she means what she says. Maybe it is me but she comes across shifty and superficial.

          Just as Reid was not the personality we needed to fight the GOP. Imagine if Murtha had been in charge.

    According to a 2007 Time interview Obama was in prep school while mom was getting her Phd and collecting food stamps. Of course you know that at that time he would be living with the (well off) grandparents not mom.

    I don’t know why Obama keep insisting that his handwriting was not on that paper. The same he keeps saying that he doesn’t take oil money and lobbyists money. Anyone who do their own research will know that it’s a outright lie.

    Why does he think he will get away with it? With this kind of behavior, he will be very dangerous if he gets to the White House. He will distort the truth and lie to the public. He would not be much different from Bush.

    This actually has to do with the gun debate, but was missed, and I’m trying to make sure more people hear this… last night, during the debate (and other times in the past year), Barack Obama referred to people as “Mentally Deranged.” Please see here for the video and more information:

    As you know, there is a huge stigma that comes with being diagnosed with a mental disorder, and we feel that Obama apparently doesn’t see the issue. We see this usage of the term as a blanket phrase for “mental illness” in the way he is using it. If that’s not what he meant, then where does “illness” end and “deranged begin? This is a horrible phrase to use to describe Mental Illness… and here we have someone running for President using them without a thought. My wife suffers with Bipolar and she is quite offended by his statement and wants to know what he was thinking.

    Amazingly he told NAMI that he strongly supports all aspects of help for the sufferers of “Mental Illness”, and never once in *their* questionnaire refers to these “mentally deranged” people. NAMI also publicly denounces the phrase “deranged,” so what does Obama really think here? We want answers.

    Please pass this message and link on to everyone you know so that he is called to explain himself. No matter your stance on politics, I feel this is inexcusable.

      I keep saying, Mr. Obama is mentally deranged. Most psychopaths are highly intelligent and effective liars. The type of lying Mr. Obama is perpetuating is of the more complex kind, the pathological.

      And true to form, he is also projecting this on others as he probably has done all of his life. Whatever is “not right” in his life, he blames on others. This is why Jeremiah Wright was such a hit with the young Barry. Finally, someone who spoke his language. And Wright did not disappoint. As you can see by their close relationship (Barry was willing to lose the election rather than denounce Wright and his church), Barry must have been his teacher’s pet.

      I also want to point out what I have not seen mentioned anywhere else, Rev. Wright is light skinned. Can you jump the Rob Schneider (RIP handsome) shark here? Why is Wright so angry against white people when it appears he has to have some white background?

      Obama accuses the Clintons of racism, only to get caught with a “White America” Hating mentor and 20 year spiritual adviser.

      Obama accuses the Clintons of lying about so many thing, but he continuously lies.

      What should WORRY everyone, is Barry’s “affect.” If you watch closely you will see that what he says doesn’t always match how is is acting. In particular, look at the eyes. A real smile will cause “crinkles” around the eyes. His eyes are about as animated as day old fish.

      And this may explain why they have been able to get as many menacing (downright scary) facial expressions. For an affable guy full of hope and with nothing to fear but the truth itself, this is incongruent at best.

      Personally, the guy gives me the creeps. There is something very wrong going on inside Barry.

    I’ve taken to checking out the blogs at National Review because they (as Rendell said about Fox) hate both Democrats equally — and because of that, they seem to be more objective.     Even though he’s generally rough on Clinton as well, I recommend reading it because I appreciate anyone, Democrat or Republican, who tries to be objective (we’ll have to see what happens if Clinton gets the nomination).

    In a debate where Clinton said she was sorry for fibbing about Bosnia, Obama not only doesn’t apologize for his poor judgment and mendaciousness, he lies AGAIN.

    That’s what you (and the SD’s) need to know.
