Rove’s Sweet Dream

I have always expressed myself best through the medium of cartooning.  Somehow it’s an easier way to express my highest hopes and greatest fears.  I’d like to share a nightmare scenario.  Obama wins the nomination.  The Republicans take over as the General Election becomes the focus of attention.

Sure, there is no perfect dog left standing in this fight.  But Hillary’s baggage and gaffes are mostly old and mostly uninteresting by now.  Boring. Obama is very fresh and knowledge about his life choices are still unfolding. Yummy!

To anyone who says my work might give the Republicans ideas, I offer the video (thanks to Truthtelling 007 and Susan for setting it up).  Karl Rove has already found my candy store.

That is a truly professional cartoon! I am impressed. And it’s on mark. Karl has a big dossier on Obama all ready to do. And he can quote from it from memory half the time / or he has his notes in front of him when he’s on TV.

    • simon, too

You know, remember Obama’s team is going for the fifty plus one, and that plays into the deliberate creation of strife among democrats, among voters, and Americans.

I wonder how he planned to work it in the general?

All I see is his team going up in flames, they just don’t quite get it.

    • Talktruth

And it’s not hard to remember the bad things about Obama. They’re what the public would consider “juicy news” – very scandalous!

      • Talktruth

I’m sorry, I should have added “as is illustrated perfectly by this cartoon” :-J. Great, great idea and drawing!

  • grtphoto

My question is which way will the coverage go? Will MSM continue it’s love affair or jump ship? Many of us stated this exact premise MONTHS AGO. Duh, DNC. I’m so tired of it all, really. I want Hillary to get the nomination but I’m getting really tired.

    • Sam Copeland

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Every time it looks Obama has clinched the nomination or the MSM makes it look that way, two things happen:

      1. Obama starts talking like a Republican (appointing Luger & Hagel to cabinet, making statements that his foreign policy will be more like Reagan and G, H. W. Bush than Clinton and G. W. Bush [whatever that means], telling parents they need to stay home with their kids, etc.]).

      2. The MSM starts carrying negative stories about Obama (Wright, small town dissing remark, or what can be aptly described as Rove’s candy store).

The answer to your question is in item #2. The really interesting question is how long will it take the latte leftists to realize that they have been bamboozled (as in item #1 above). Given what we know about the power of the human mind to rationalize, I suspect it will take awhile.

PS It took me a while to post this message since I was laughing so hard at the cartoon. You all should put up some sorta warning system when something like this goes up so I don’t injury myself laughing so hard. Of course, once I stopped laughing and the message sunk in, it was quite depressing, you know.

  • Janis

And OH THE AGONY! If only you had SHUT UP, he NEVER WOULD HAVE FOUND OUT ANY OF THIS! He had NO OTHER WAY OF FINDING OUT EXCEPT YOU!

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

You are joking, right? Long before I checked into anything about Barack Obama, Human Events and many other ‘winger groups had big dossiers on him. They couldn’t wait. And they have helped promote his candidacy because they can’t wait to take him down, knowing what they’ve known for so long.

      • Janis

Believe me, I’m joking. (I’ve heard people dumb enough to say that if the Rosenbergs hadn’t coughed up the nuclear secret, we’d still be the only country to have the bomb.)

      • bert

Exactly Susan. It sounds incredulous and too conspiratorial but it is almost as if this whole Dem primary nightmare has been a Karl Rove plot. I remember when he resigned he made a comment that Hillary had too many negatives to win. I assumed he meant in the General. But maybe what he meant was too many negatives with the ultra-far left wing of the Dem party in the primary.

Over a year ago when the first Dem primary debate occurred even I had seen reports of Obama’s negatives. And that was just in left leaning sites. I dug a bur further and all sorts of red lights went off, not the least of which was Ayres. I knew of that link 14 months ago. I am just surprised it took this long to get out.

Of course the Republicans want to run against Obama. He fits their story line much better than Hillary – he is out of touch with main stream America and is too elitist and has San Francisco values, he is too liberal and has left wing blame America first mentality and hate America radical friends. Oh, he also hates the flag. And he can’t bowl.

      • workingclass artist

And it won’t take them 11 years to do it either…..

    • Strawberrybitch

Janus, you are being snarky, right? There’s a great documenmtary called Bush’s Brain. You should rent it. It’s all about Rove. This guy is one scary obsessive-compulsive twank. He has probably had Obama on his radar BEFORE the 2004 Democratic convention.

      • Janis

Hell yeah, snarky as all hell. Should have thrown in an *eyeroll* or two.

        • Strawberrybitch

          Whew! (wiping brow).

          • TeakWoodKite

on his radar BEFORE the 2004…

The context nay have been different, in that Karl was aware Fitzgerald was working on Rezko and the Govenor of Illinios.

I have always been curious why they ran Alan Keyes.

PatRacimora, It was Karl in the candy store with the Taffy,
Obama like a bull in a china shop who refuses to own up for the broken plates.
Very funny and on point. You and Frank should talk.

    • MessyMarcy

Great cartoon by PatR and equally good impression of an Obamabot by Janis. Of all the stupid things they say, this is one of the silliest: Hillary and her supporters are giving the republicans talking points. Right. Karl Rove has to depend on us for topics to use to smear Obama. The cartoon has it exactly right, and there are probably several more confections of which we Democrats are presently unaware but are contained in the dossier Karl has waiting just in case Obama gets the nomination. As someone else said (I would give credit if I could remember), the republicans won’t even have to lie that much if Obama is our nominee.

  • http://http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity

God if they would just put a bag over Rove’s head or something.

Anyways, how typical of a Narcissist. It’s your fault and you dumb people misinterpreted perfect me.

  • AF catfish

Brilliant cartoon. You are very talented.

  • Kathryn

Great cartoon!Exactly what will happen if he gets the nomination and exactly why he can’t. Well said, I mean drawn.

  • AF catfish

Where can we find more of your cartoons? Do you keep a blog?

  • ModDem

The General Election won’t just be Obama running alone. He will have a VP chosen and will then be endorsed by Gore, Hillary, Bill, Edwards and all other big names in the party.
The dynamic will change because the Democrats that matter will come together to win the White House.
Look at the way the Republicans have come together for McCain. Scarcely three months ago Ann Coulter and Rush were saying they wouldn’t support him. I’m sure they do now.

    • lifelong dem leaving party

      i do hope you’re joking.

“the Democrats that matter” will come together. – funny me, i thought all dems matter. and repubs & indies, too, for that matter.

in any case, those obamaloons who think we’re coming together behind him need to take some meds, put on some jay z, and try to dream another dream. this one’s not happening.

    • scott

Ann hates McCain, and of the three she likes Hillary. Now thats scary.

      • Janis

She just wants to scare impressionable bots away from her. Some are dumb enough to fall for it.

Agreed….I listen to Pat Buchanoise on the McGlaulishout only because he is a seasoned polipsycho and it’s important to be informed as to the opposition….I think one of the most interesting things that has been exposed in this cycle is the generational devide which cuts across the parties….Old Time Pols are scared shitless by the NEW POLITICS that is represented by OBAMESSAH…Kinda smells Chicago/68….no?

I can only speak for myself personally and offer observations of what I see others saying.

For me personally, I will not unite behind anything to do with Obama. Hell will have to freeze over first. I will either write in Hillary or vote for McCain — probably whatever helps to keep that menace to our liberties Obama way far away from the Whitehouse.

As far as my observations of others, I only recall seeing a few bloggers who support Hillary that have said they will unite behind Obama if he is nominated. And those who agree with my general sentiment seem very adamant that they won’t change their minds.

I won’t change my mind on this, and I don’t think we’ve seen the worst dirt on Obama yet even.

Why do I feel Obama is a threat to our liberties? Stealing the nomination by threats, intimidation and other nefarious tactics is a subversion of the democratic process. If we let him get away with this, its a slippery slope with disastrous consequences. It is especially bad when you factor in the manipulation by the MSM and the large corporations that control them.

Obama is a fucking idiot in way over his head and is a guaranteed disaster as President. As I said earlier, we are choosing someone that will have our lives in their hands. That’s what this is all about: not feeling good because of some bullshit white guilt or some idealistic and naive notions of change. Do we want someone with woefully poor judgment in his affiliations controlling a nuclear arsenal?

If you knew someone that sat in a racist church for 20 years and their name was not Barack Obama, what would you call them? A fucking idiot with bad judgment, of course.

Hey thanks. I put it out there to inspire some new lines of thought. And the other theme from last night was the putting your life in his hands theme.

It dawned on me yesterday that’s a powerful visual in one’s mind.

I ain’t gonna put my life in his inept hands nor will America.

      • sandyR

Right. Factor in (as if you needed anymore) the

        • http://myspace.com/loyaldissent Garlic-Nosed Guitarist

The troll minions of Darth Obama are easy fodder for Darth, just as Darth is easy fodder for his handlers. Darth is drunk with the feeling of power as are the trolls.

In the end, America loses if the master puppeteers pulling Darth’s strings succeed. People who are easy fodder for handlers show poor judgment and a woeful lack of worldliness.

Hillary has a clue and to a lesser extent, so does McCain. If they are “walked” by anyone, they know its happening and have a long-term vision and strategy to work around the meddling and power structure. This ability to spot people trying to walk one comes with time and experience. I am sorry Darth, but the Presidency is not some fucking sandbox for you to play in while you garner experience.

Darth Obama is playing with dynamite here which is is right to do, but the problem is when the dynamite blows up there are a world of innocent bystanders out there who will be harmed. And then that “change” Obama is whining about incessantly was all along “just words” as the Hillary camp has been saying.

          Ciao,

          G-N-G

      • grtphoto

I agree with all of your thoughts. I will not yield and vote for him out of unity, I will only write in her name and not vote McCain either. I do like your sentiment about precedence. If we go down this road our democracy is dead. He has subverted fair play in his antics in his run for Illinois State Senate etc. The people running his campaign don’t respect the electorate. I am not naive I know power brokers have run the show for a long time, but this is a new breed of arrogance.

      HUH???

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

The Democrats that matter will all be Independents!

      WIN WITHOUT ME!
But I know I do matter. And that you cannot WIN WITHOUT ME!

    • http://Supergram.blogspot.com Melissa

Wow- second time in a week I have been told by an Obama supporter that I don’t matter.
Just where are these magical unity votes coming from??? Not from me, it has been made clear that I don’t matter.
Neither do my six brothers and sisters and their spouses and numerous children, ( all living in MA- Never voting for Kennedy or Kerry again- they need some of that CHANGE, can I hear you say AMEN) my husband and his five siblings, their spouses (All Floridians by the way) my mother, Aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, my children (all three and my daughter-in-law) my co-workers, the workers at my husbands job. Now that is just one American family and our friends and we are not alone. We have voted Dem straight ticket all our lives (Mom is 82) NO MORE!
So I ask again, where are these magical unity votes coming from- we don’t matter of course, just curious.

      • Clara Barton

Fantastic cartoon! As I heard someone mention when they saw it, the only treat missing is” Obama fingers”. Don’t you know Rove and the wingers are drooling in their dreams. The possible ads and attacks that can be created against Obama are limitless.

I wonder if all who say they will not vote for him in November – assuming he’s the nominee – have let Dr. Dean and the DNC know how you feel? Write to him, to Ms. Donna and the Rules Committee. Give them a ‘taste’ of what’s to come and you might consider including Pat’s cartoon just to create the visual.

        • sandyR

Yes. The cartoon is great. Rove and his friends will have no trouble with the Obamination. They won’t even have to manufacture anything nor even break a sweat.
Everything’s been laid out before them just like a candy shop.

      • workingclass artist

Typical fanatical behavior…..Fascism 101…Extremism has no room for criticism and those in charge of fanatical regimes go to great lengths to silence critics….

    • rwc

      No they won’t.

Right off the bat yobama can forget about a good chunk of Hillary supporters, Reagan Democrats, the white working class and independents.

Remember most presidential elections are decided by a few points. If yobama even loses %10 of Hillary supporters which is very conservative # and a similar amount from the white working class he’s DOA in the GE.

    • Fredster

      Democrats that matter

Thank God that leaves me out because I won’t be voting for him.

    • bert

Dems might “unite.” Voters will not.

Yeah, I’m just waiting for Biggot Bill and Nasty Hill to be asked to stump for BOBO. Don’t count on any of their backers for a dime. They might say the right thing. Sayin’ and feelin’?

      Yeah, right.

    • beebop

If you want any more evidence why I would NEVER EVER EVER vote for this son of a bitch, here it is:

Obama trained his eye on rival Clinton at subsequent stops on his train tour today, accusing her of practicing “slash-and-burn, say-anything, do-anything, special-interest-driven politics.”

A claim that his campaign appeared to undermine when they held a press-conference between train stops with former military veterans who had served in Bosnia to discuss Clinton’s claim that she had landed in the middle of sniper fire, reprising an argument that Obama had criticized just two days ago as the type of “gotcha games” politics that eroded the quality of the national political dialogue.

In the call former Gen. Walter Stewart claimed Clinton didn’t have the “moral authority” to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, because she had lied about landing under sniper fire in Bosnia and then joked about it on Jay Leno.

“We can make the assumption here that the honored dead within the Tomb of the Unknown was killed by a sniper,” Stewart said. “Imagine the lack of moral authority she has now to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Memorial Day.”

      http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/04/19/922555.aspx

He has the “moral authority” of a slumlord … oh that’s right, he is the moral equivalent of a slum lord.

    • Sam Copeland

Of course, the party will appear to come together.

But that won’t make one damn bit of difference among the target voters (independents, “Reagan democrats,” soccer moms) in places like OH, PA, MI, FL, & MO.

When Obama starts talking like a Republican (see my comment above), it seals his fate as a waffling leftist who will say anything to get elected.

The only unanswered question is how much does an Obama at the top of the ticket affect the down ballot races?

    • MessyMarcy

“Democrats that matter will come together to win the White House.”

And that attitude is exactly why, even if he gets the nomination, Obama will never win the GE. His definition of “Democrats that matter” does not include women, the working class, older people, gun owners, people of faith, small town or rural citizens, people whose homes are being foreclosed on, union members, GLBTs, and anyone else who doesn’t fully understand and endorse His Wonderfulness.

He’ll never get my vote. I respect and admire Bill and Hillary Clinton, but not even their endorsement will get me to vote for this jackass.

Since I am a member of several of the above categories, I am already well aware that I do not matter to The Precious. But the future of this country matters to me, and I will never do anything that would help place him in control of it.

    Welcome Pat..!

Good Job on the Cartoon..Looks right on to me..

    • workingclass artist

DITTO THAT…FORGOT TO SAY EXCELLENT POLI CARTOON, PAT.

  • Mel

I want to share as a reminder of something!

Public opinion is manifesting itself right now in an electoral turn toward the Democrats, though they, of course, don’t deserve anything at all. That indicates something, though, about elections as natual responses to discontent, sort of like water flowing downhill. But people think in terms of elections, and I’d hate to see the left lose out on this tendency for some purely ideological reason.

I keep raising with people the example of the Rainbow Coalition of the eighties, that was grass-roots based, led by people of color, and was a true coalition. It got Jessie Jackson an amazing 6.5 million votes in the Demo primary of 1988. Of course it was dissolved by Jessie in one moment, at the behest of the DLC, which showed its weakness

This is a statement by Mark Rudd a leader of the Students for a Democratic Society of the 1960′s who destroyed it in forming the Weather Underground! Mark Rudd was an original WU leader with Dohrn and Ayers! Rudd is still working today with factions of the revived Students for a Democratic Society
Think about it for a minute!

    • mimi

      And this is important because?

These people have no meaning to me. I was part of that Rainbow Coalition and bitterly disappointed when it did not succeed. These people are the same privileged white kids who co-opted the black nationalist movement with their bullshit. They are still trying to get their bitch on with their parents and America by extension.

They are spoiled rotten, temper tantrum throwing kids who don’t mean anybody any good because they are so bumped up on ego and bullshit they reek of the stench of their psychosis.

They simply will not get that the rest of the country is simply not into them and their radical ideology.

Since Obama is in a flipping mood I say fuck him for trying to mainstream these slimeballs. I had no use for them in the 60s, and I certainly have no use for them now.

      • sandyR

Well said. Politics by petulance. They are spoiled brats. Co-opting whatever their
nasty little selves can find. They play games with the rights of others to massage their pathetic egos. They are moot underneath their vulgarity.

I have a very simple plan. And that is to live simply off the interest of my investments and with as small a carbon footprint as is possible. And let me tell you … that means continuing to drive a 12 year old car and no frills. Pray that a second substantial thrashing within four years will wake people up or that a movement toward a third party will in fact materialize.

People complain every four years about Brand X and Brand Y. Well. Maybe there will at last be some real change.

  • Mel

This is so simple for the GOP to advertise:

Brought to you with sound judgement by the Republican Party the next POTUS John McCain, war hero, defender of America, protector of American freedom at home and abroad!

Brought to you with sound judgement by the Democratic Party, especially your leaders, Dean, Pesoli, Kennedy, Kerry, Dodd and Brazile the next POTUS Barack Obama, Slumlord hero, defender of American terrorists, Protector of terrorists freedom at home and abroad!

This is as easy a slam dunk as telling all those bitter small town folks to lock their hen house doors after placing a few hungry wolves into it and with Obama, hope the hens to walk out in the morning, with McCain, you know the wolves will walk out in the morning!

    • http://myspace.com/loyaldissent Garlic-Nosed Guitarist

      This is my best theory:

The media is working to force an Obama nomination. If they succeed, they will then turn on Obama and support McCain.

Hillary could beat McCain, so they need to force her out.

Hill is as tenacious as one can be, I think she will pull of a miracle.

Obama would be easy for a handler to grab control of him and “walk”/manipulate, as proven by Obama sticking with that racist mentor for all those years. Obama has no clue he will be dumped like a hot potato by the same people who are helping him now — his very large ego prevents him from seeing the truth.

      • bert

“Obama would be easy for a handler to grab control of him and “walk”/manipulate him…”

Already has one………..Zbigniew Brzezinski. Jimmy Carter’s foreign policy advisor from the 70’s.

Obama is already a puppet to Brzezinski, Soros and others. Obama is the Democratic Party version of George Bush. IF elected he would be a puppet and front man for a shadow government that will fuck up our foreign policy even more than Bush. I only wonder who would be their Cheney. Brzezinski has a hard on for Russia. Wants to finish what he started in the 70’s. Like Iraq? You ain’t seen nothing yet.

        • SensibleWoman

“Obama would be easy for a handler to grab control of him and “walk”/manipulate him…”

In the past I’ve not been one that necessarily followed the details of politics, but I felt very compelled to find out more about BO several months ago when I realized he seemed to be a pied piper of sorts. That was the first alarm bell to go off for me.

So, began my own research here on the internet. As soon as I read about Emil Jones’ comment about making a king the second alarm bells went off for me. Not so much because of Emil Jones because I knew nothing about him either, but because I immediately saw that someone else who was in a position of power viewed him as a person they could easily lead and eventually control.

Top that off with someone who already had many people falling at his feet…there went the third alarm bell. Here was someone who could easily be used by someone powerful and he had the ability get a MASS of people to follow him.

The sh*t just kept getting deeper and deeper as I researched more and more.

        • beebop

I think that’s the BIG MISTAKE. I don’t think he’s the person they think he is. I mean, who knows? If he could be “handled,” it might not be so bad. But what if he can’t? What if it’s like an iceberg and the 10% we see is not the most damaging? Who could have predicted Cheney? I don’t believe it is a gamble that we can afford either way.

You know it’s funny…I was in undergrad during the St. Reagan revolution and I had this crazy old fart professor who discussed propaganda…The class focused on History 1930-1950. It covered a lot of territory….One day this old fart just started ranting about St. Reagan and the kitchen cabinet and how a whole bunch of rich old farts had been working on destroying the New Deal and returning the country to HOOVER TIMES and he laid out how this shit was goin to happen…Timeline…Procedure…Tactics…Etc…At the time I thought this is one crazy old fart…WTF ?….Now I’m on the older side of 40 and damn….that crazy ol fart ( dead now these many years ) knew his shit…..This games been played a long time and this is just another version of it. By the way In this old farts scenario I think OBAMESSIAH fits somewhere in scenario C…To the best of my recollection….Wish I could find those notes.

Agree….The way I see it within the party this is this same old Left vs centrist ( at least that’s what Kennedy et, al. think ) problem is they don’t really know who they’re dealing with either. They think they can control this shit…It began as the old anti – Clinton ( New Democrats ) fight and has blossomed into somethin else…Old Pols are getting that scared look in their eyes….This is why Ol’ Bill is gettin spittin mad….OBMESSIAH and the minions are tearin up the party…

Hillary could beat McCain, so they need to force her out.

This MUST be why McCain wants to run against her.

McCain to staff: Hands off of Hillary
        By Michelle Malkin • April 14, 2008 02:17 PM
John McCain is telling his campaign staff to lay off of Hillary. So says the Drudge Report. Not a shocker if you’ve been listening to The Maaaaverick’s effusive praise for Hillary–she of such “good character, honesty, and integrity“–over these many months and years.

McCain would prefer to go up against Clinton in the general election, insiders reveal.

He has instructed his campaign staff to “chill out” on countering Hillary Clinton’s torrent of claims and promises as primary voting comes to an end over the next 6 weeks.

McCain made the tactical decision to downplay Clinton’s tale of Bosnia sniper fire, leaving some McCain staffers frustrated and perplexed.

He doesn’t need to attack her. The DEMOCRATIC PARTY is doing a FINE JOB all by itself!

He can focus on Barack. How fucking stupid are you for goodness sake?

Cee….You have lost so many IQ’s ( which were a genetic low count to begin with ) smokin that US GOVT. ISSUE CRACK FROM THE UNITY PIPE
that you speak gibberish…..Troll Away now back to you OBAMESSIAH CAMP….

        • Sam Copeland

McCain also put a photo of Bill Clinton on his web page about a month ago along with positive words between them. Fox News has the least anti-Hillary coverage of the 3 infotainment channels. Why?

Answer: McCain has read the polls showing that 25% or more of Hillary supporters will not support BHO in the general. He wants to welcome as many of those supporters into his camp as possible, and you don’t do that by trashing Hillary, possibly shooting her the bird, etc.

If I were a Republican strategist (I am one for the Democrats), this is exactly what I would be doing right now.

          • TeakWoodKite

Sam your insight here is on the money.

Hillary Clinton and McCain both understand the gravity of Independent voters. The last thing McCain needs is a stampede.

I am taking note that Sen. Clinton and Sen. McCain are running a squeeze play considering the requirements each face.

I also think that where the lines of power merge, that the “collective” does not want the Obama “power collective” gaining any ground.

A power struggle is going on.

Remember this is the same media that pimped the Iraq war for Bush and became his stenography pool after the war began.

Whatever their reasons for promoting the messiah, you can rest assured they don’t have our best interests at heart.

      They are not our friends.

Right on! Have you seen “Lions for Lambs” movie with a mission to uncloak the war’s real cause.

I laugh whenever I see Karl Rove. He is ugly as hell and scares the shit out of me but the guy is scary smart! I have to give him props for that. You gotta give credit where credit is due and I am glad No Quarter is the only Democratic site posting up what the right wing is saying and how they are planning to attack whoever the Democratic nominee is in the fall. Axelrod is a cunning S.O.B. but still not as cunning as Rove. Rove will be the mastermind behind Obama’s downfall in the general election should he be our nominee. I agree with Garlic Nosed-Guitarist that Hillary is tenacious and can pull a miracle which is a Democratic win. Bill will help her do that as well. Bitch really is the new black because we’re going to need two bitches – Team Clinton – to fight Karl Rove and the GOP in the general election.

Anyone thought about this line for the GE if it comes down to Obama vs McCain?

If the GOP gains the house and regains the congress…..There will be a great purging of ” undesirables “….It will begin with the southern borders and will make what’s been happening look like nothin more than a prelude….This shit is gonna happen in Europe too….The Crusade continues.

      • beebop

So you see this “obama moment” as having more far reaching significance?

        • workingclass artist

I see all of this….Since the HIJACK OF 2000 as a worrisome pattern…
