garofalo’s stench rises all the way to the top ~open thread

(bumped up from Thursday afternoon)

O’Reilly goes after GE, msnbc and NBC for their utter failure as a news organization, their tanking raitings, and for being in bed with the Obama administration. He also whacks GE for allowing crap like the Garofalo and Olbermann interview on their network.

Varney brings up a good point about Brokaw. I wonder if Tom Brokaw is embarrassed.

  • Texas Gal

OT but I found it very interesting that Congress is getting into the smart grid business.

    http://whitehouse.blogs.foxnews.com/2009/04/16/4-billion-will-go-to-smart-grid-development/

which may sound great and all but guess who’s developing smart grid technology? Yup, GE. Now I know this is stretching (got my tin foil hat out) but I just found it rather ummm..interesting. And for those who haven’t seen the video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1XqLPa9BoA&feature=PlayList&p=FE3FD6B86CA555AE&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=1

I laughed so hard cause gee, GE “If I only had a brain”? How apropos.

You guys have to see this. LOLOL

    http://washingtontimes.com/weblogs/potus-notes/2009/apr/23/larry-summers-falls-asleep-while-obama-talks/

Larry Summers, the president’s top financial adviser, apparently isn’t getting a lot of sleep.

For that or some other reason, as President Obama spoke to reporters inside the White House Thursday following a meeting with credit card company executives, Summers was photographed clearly asleep at the end of a table in the Roosevelt Room.

Here’s a link to a gallery that has some of these images.

This isn’t the first time this has happened. Summers reportedly fell asleep during an economic summit at the White House in February, but there were no cameras at that event.

This time there are pictures of Summers, hand in chin – and what’s worse – as the president is speaking.

There is an online poll on Obama’s performance on his first 100 days. Please go vote and pass the address below:

    Did We Elect Borat President?

All of these goofy gaffes by the president prove that he’s really Sacha Baron Cohen and we’re all in his next movie.

  • Sammie

To make matters even worse, I believe G.E. makes their windmill motors in Germany. So some of the stimulus intended to create green jobs here may actually end up overseas. (Did Obama ever specify where those jobs created or saved by the stimulus would be?)

  • Docelder

That reminds me for some reason of propaganda news releases of Chinese hackers infiltrating our electrical grid. Lucky for us we now have “smart grids”. Just in time… who would have guessed?

  • Docelder

Right now, if I had to guess… I would say we are about to have 250,000 new jobs opening up in Pakistan.

  • Paula Revere

By the way, we WARNED everyone about this. I remember posting HERE, during the “selection” that GE was promised billions in bailout money if they would cover and lie for the Fraud, and shove him down our throats. And, sure enough, five days after I was told about it, it was in the news that GE was expecting money to save them from bankruptcy. Nothing about Obama’s ridiculous, fraudulent sadministration has to do with truth, honesty, integrity, morality, etc. And the sad thing is that so many morons in this country LISTENED to this nonsense on the paid-for networks and voted for the Fraud. If MSNBC and CNN didn’t exist, neither would the Fraud.

  • Paula Revere

    LMAO – Borat. Hahahhahaa….so true.

G.E., NBC, 0bama. Big business, the media, the government, now all locked together in a mutual CYA relationship. It’s the DARK TRINITY.

The level of demonization and dehamanizing of Republicans and conservatives has almost reached it’s zenith with Garofalo. I realize that there was a broad demograghic represented by the tea parties, but the current campaign by MSNBC/Garofalo/0bama core support, is meant to make conservatives seem too toxic to be associated with. They’re trying to prevent a diverse coalition from gravitating toward, and coalescing around, a nucleus of conservative and traditional values. The tea parties did more than hint that people were setting aside minor differences in order to address and expose the atrocities that 0bama is creating. This is exactly what the Nazi’s did to the Jews. Isolate them, demonize them, strip them of their wealth, and prosecute anyone supporting them. Sound familiar?

Does anyone have an attic that my kids and I can hide out in until this blows over?

  • Spam Feeder 191

Hey AGII, what do you think I could post that would make the spam filter choke and DIE!!! It’s getting bad.

  • Texas Gal

Paula I remember that vividly. I spent weeks on this site and had to stop after the election because, seriously, my blood pressure was getting too high..haha doctor’s orders, stop reading the blogs!

It’s doubly frustrating because the Fraud is doing so much damage to this country and I don’t know if we’ll ever be the same.

  • Steve_in_KC

As of this moment, his grades are:

    A – 35%
    B – 6.8%
    C – 5.1%
    D – 13%
    F – 40% (guess what I voted!)

Since grades below C are considered below average, or failing, his combined D and F tally is 53%.

Number of respondents so far: 2,778,439.

  • Paula Revere

Well, the few times I have heard the Fraud speak, ever, have pretty much been a big snooze to me too LOL.

  • Hg

Could Obama possibilly be your conscience or your guardian angel? :) . Some of the modern day jews have coma a long way from Gabriel and Yhwh, not to mention moses.

    Maybe her “nephesh” is partisan.

  • PamFlorida

Recently saw a piece focusing on a small US company building wind turbines using parts made in house or purchased from other small companies doing the same.
Besides the turbine engines from Germany you spoke of, the majority of blades for these windmills are imported from China. Assembled in America is not the same as Manufactured in America. So much for green jobs in the US.

  • Paula Revere

Well, good luck to OBAManson and his cult member ghouls like that pig Janeane (wannabe) Garofolo. Yup, good luck to them. Because this country has gone so far off the grid, has so little morality and values, that there WILL be a common ground (like at the Tea Parties) where moderates and centrists from both parties meet. I don’t know whether it’s a third party or not, but I do know that people are really scared of these OZombies, lifeless, bloodsucking lunatics like that POS Garofolo railing on good, decent Americans.

  • Portia Elizabeth Crockett

Are we allowed to vote more than once like in the primaries?

  • Hg

Someone?????Asked of the Tea Parties “Are we citizens, or are we subjects?” Do we pay tribute or do we demand rights? I think the latter.

  • Ray SF

    Paula,
I guarantee there will be a third party emerging sometime soon. This party will make up all of the Republicans that no longer feel their party represents them and the Democrats that feel their party no longer represents them (and Independents!). The time is ripe and the time is now. Leave the ultra right to the Republican Party and the ultra left to the Democrats. Most of the voters fall into this Moderate category. There is HUGE power there when this gets organized. You will all see soon. : )

  • Liz

    Pot, meet kettle.

Since it’s an open thread, here’s an Onion story I think might be appreciated here. Pretty funny.

  • Portia Elizabeth Crockett

Poor guy. He’ll be under the bus soon – after he’s drawn and quartered by the Fraud (aka Ben Dover).

  • PainkillerJayne

When we march on DC I am going to use that.

“Are we citizens, or are we subjects?”

  • Paula Revere

Ray SF…I don’t doubt that this hideous mess with the Fraud will throw people together and there will be some bond that comes out of it. My only issue is that I don’t personally believe anyone could get it together by 2012. And I know this country can’t take Obama for two terms, IF he makes it through the first one, which I never thought he would. I am all for the new party. I get the crap beat out of me here for saying I am a registered Republican, but that’s because of what was done to me by the DNC these past two years. In order for me to vote for McCain, I HAD to register GOP. If I registered Indie I could only vote Indie or Dem. I never understood what that was about, but oh well.

Anyway, I believe in pro-choice and gay marriage, so I’m NOT a winger. I just won’t go near another Dem for the rest of my life. Ever. Third party, here we come. But if it’s going to happen, it has to happen NOW. You do realize that the Obama FRAUD was planned for FOUR YEARS. And they started planning for 2012 on November 5, 2008. That’s my POINT. How do we compete with THAT?

  • Paula Revere

YIPPIEEEEE…To the March in September. TAKE THAT OBOTS.

  • andrew 191

All the new green jobs will be in Greenland, obviously.

  • Paula Revere

LMAO…The Fraud = Ben Dover? OMFG that’s hysterical and sooo true.

  • Hg

Lead me to the dotted line.:)

  • Maria3

    That is funny…

  • Ani

AGII, Thanks so much for this post. I remember writing a post last July saying that it looked like Obama was in bed with GE and that’s why NBC/MSNBC was so busy schilling for him. I did not know the Immelt relationship — that know he is an advisor to O — wow. That says a lot. MSNBC for the most part acts like Pravda.

Do we have any recourse at all?

  • b mathews

im hoping the next tea party takes up this hue and cry for a third party.maybe some fresh new faces with no grievances so that all parties can work together without partisan politics getting in the way. yes..the time is ripe now to get all the old entrenced, corrupt politicians in both parties out in the 2010 election. (starting with dodd, frank and reid) lets not lose this opportunity.

  • Hg

OH s–* does this mean i have to spitshine my boondockers? Maybe I can make it with a walker–HAHAHAH–I’ll be there.

  • Portia Elizabeth Crockett

Does The Onion get it or what?

“President Obama’s letter presents us with a classic journalistic quandary,” executive editor Bill Keller said. “If we print it, then we’re giving him control over the kinds of stories we choose to run. It would be an acknowledgment that we somehow give the nation’s commander in chief special treatment.”
Added Keller, “And that’s just not how the press in this country works.”

  • Paula Revere

    Ani,

Recourse? Let’s file a class action suit for the Trillions the Fraud is spending. MSNBC, CNN and all of them are responsible for the Fraud, due to their con job “reporting.” Hmmmmm….We can sue to get our money back LOL.

  • Hg

I too believe in PRO CHOICE and LIVE and LET LIVE. I believe WE—ALL of USofAmerica CAN GET IT TOGETHER. YES WE CAN and WE WILL!

  • andrew 191

There already is a third party that best reflects the general tone and intent of the tea parties, The Libertarian Party.

  • Docelder

I now realize Pelosi’s frequent jet traffic is warming the air and contributing to asthma and allergies. sniff, sniff. I think we can sue for that now can’t we? ;)

  • Paula Revere

Why the hell not? Let’s sue all of them. I live in LA – LOL I see people sued every day for a helluva lot less. Besides, Pelosi doesn’t NEED that damned jet. She’s got her frigging BROOM.

  • Docelder

I know, I have been to the website. I agree with a lot of what they say. I still think we need a new party without baggage.

  • Paula Revere

Well, then I nominate you two to start it. Right now. And I think it’s USMoss for Prez LOL.

  • ExDemInVA

I’m so glad that O’Reilly has the guts to get this on the airwaves. It’s also a good thing that his show is #1 in that timeslot, which means more people will be exposed to the lies of NBC/MSNBC. It is because of these networks that the fraud was forced down our throats.

  • Peggy Sue

Thanks for the link, sara. That’d a really funny piece [in a sadly funny way]. But it made me laugh in any case. Good one!

  • Docelder

Now, I am suddenly curious as to what would happen if somebody threw a glass of water on her. But, what would all the rest of the democrats… (the winged monkeys) in the house do without her?

  • b mathews

why wait till sept.? why lose the whole summer?.we have momentum now..lets not waste it. how about july 4th? what better day than this?

  • Hg

The Obama fraud has been planned since the 1960s and even earlier. They were just holding out for the desired(speaker) mouth piece, the just right charismatic bullshitter.

  • ExDemInVA

Go O’Reilly – tell it like it is. Somebody has to.

  • PainkillerJayne

Afternoon Paula……….is a march scheduled already for Sept?

  • PainkillerJayne

    get to shining Hg!

  • DaddysDarlin

O’Reilly wont ever let the Obama administration tell him what he can and cannot say on the air!!! I love it!
Finally some MSM that has grown a pair! Thanks Bill.
As for Garofalo she can go F*ck herself!

  • Hg

But the “FRAUD” would do a lot more damage if you did not voice your opposition. Look what happened to H. Clinton and she loves them to pieces.

  • Paula Revere

LMAO…Well, I think the Winged Monkeys, and The Wicked Witch of the West, will have a lot of water thrown on them sooner than later, and will wilt into a massive pile of toxic waste.

  • andrew 191

How about “The Preservation Party”? Aren’t we trying to preserve the best aspects of this country, like the Constitution, the free market, and individual liberty and self determination? All of these need to be saved from 0bama’s assault, before it’s too late.

  • Paula Revere

September 12th as I recall. And there’s a big Constitutional Convention thing in June. Tea Parties in July, etc. But, yes, I think we need to do more, more, more and do it now so that we keep momentum. Do you all go to the patriotic resistance sites that are organizing this stuff? The one problem is that I think there are so many that we need to get them all in one place, on one site, or establish a portal that links them all together. No worries though. The movement is getting huge. When I was a kid, I really resented not being old enough to participate in the 60s, the protests, etc. Now I’m getting another chance – and to save my country LOL.

  • Peggy Sue

This calling out of Garofalo and GE will probably start another insult-hurling contest between Olbermann and O’Reilly. They’ve been at it for years.

But why is the Far Left so obsessed with “race?” They’re like old-fashion witch hunters, accusing anything that moves of devil worship. They, of course, are always pure and unblemished but they have an uncanny ability to seek out and scream “racism” as soon as the dialogue doesn’t favor their pov.

Garofalo made an utter ass out of herself. As far as I’m concerned, she should be allowed to continue the rants because each and everyone proves how ridiculous the charges are and how idiotic she is. Just as the CNN reporter showed her lack of professionalism on air.

These people are hanging themselves in public. Why take away the rope?

  • andrew 191

Oh hey, how about the “Northwest Airline Party”, all of their customers end up with no baggage.

  • Paula Revere

Great idea Andrew. The Preservation Party. I like it. Get down to bizness. We have to have this up and running and pick a candidate for 2012 soon.

  • Hg

The 4th of July. Independence Day. Or, as the Britts say, “Good Riddance Day” or “Day of the Rebellion”. I have been rebelling since Nov.20,2008. ;(

  • andrew 191

My fear is that, unless there is complete focus solely on the issues that have brought such a disparate group together, building a platform will be as difficult as the Tower of Babel.

  • Hg

I was spit on by the protestors in the 60s as we disembarked from the troop ship, and my CO made all of stand and take it. But as the Jews say “NEVER AGAIN”.

  • Docelder

The One is building that tower. Our job is easier. Tear down that tower. We don’t need one currency and one government. We need our country back. We have what we need.

  • jbjd

Currently in most states, the law provides preferential treatment for only the major political parties to get onto the ballot. So, to entitle a third party onto the ballot, you could amend state laws. (You can always get onto the ballot through the signature petition process.) But for the general election ballot, we should petition state legislators to amend state law regarding ballot access for the major political parties. While eliminating D or R preferred access to the ballot might be virtually impossible – after all, the people you are petitioning to change the law are R’s and D’s – who could object to this. Amend state laws to make lying about eligibility to get onto the ballot a criminal offense; as well as participating in such conduct. Who could object to such a law? (And how would such objection play in the press, especially from D legislators?) Keep in mind, in the same way that the 1st Amendment, which protects speech against government interference, is consistent with laws that restrict time and place exercise of ‘free speech’ (for example, you cannot yell “fire” in a crowded theater or spread lies about a private figure); Article II can be fully consistent with legal clarifications. For example, we can determine what proof of NBC status must be produced in the states, in order to get onto the general election ballot. AND WE CAN EXPLICITLY LEAVE THE VETTING OF ELIGIBILITY UNDER THESE LAWS, TO THE STATE AND NOT TO THE PARTY. Again, with any new law, we must also include criminal penalties for non-compliance.

I surprised an appliance store recently, because we are planning to remodel a kitchen. So we were looking at appliances, and I told the guy flat out that we refused to even consider buying anything made by GE, no matter how good a product it is.

He wanted to know why, and I told him it was because of their ownership of MSNBC, and their political shilling and Obama cronyism. He said he’d pass it up the line to his supplier. Probably won’t make much difference, but hey, if enough consumers did that, GE might crash and burn faster.

The sad thing is, they make a very good product. But principles are principles. The entire company needs to be punished, and that means not only boycotting MSNBC, but GE as a whole.

  • Eastan

The following is from a GE press release two years ago.

GE Money, the global consumer-lending unit of General Electric Company and Al-Futtaim Group, the leading UAE business conglomerate, today signed an agreement to establish a strategic joint venture in the UAE.

The joint venture will capitalise on the Al-Futtaim Group’s strong presence in the market and GE Money’s expertise in developing and providing innovative consumer finance products internationally.

    http://www.ge.com/mea/ourCompany/news/middleeast/pr_01312007.html

I assume (I must because there has been no TARP transparency yet.) that some of the bailout money we gave GE probably ended up in royal family interests in Dubai.

Now didn’t we just see a story about how friendly those guys are?

  • eleana

Don’t know why GE’s Jeffrey Immelt and NBC’s Jeff Zucker are shilling for Obama?Maybe because GE is interested in securing a contract. A nuclear renaissance is finally taking shape. Seventeen companies have sought U.S. federal approval for 26 reactors to be built in the US. . Imellt,GE CEO at the shareholders meeting yesteredy 04/22/09 tried to assure shareholders that GE has positioned itself for an economic recovery, with a new focus on products that could capture some the $2 trillion worth of government stimulus spending worldwide. That includes windmills and other clean energy equipment and new health care technology.

Always thought it would be cool to have a party called, The American Party. So when anyone says, “I’m a Democrat” or “I’m a Republican, I could say, “Im an American”. Makes them sound like foreign entities. There was an American Party many years ago and I think there still is one. Would have to call it The New American Party or something like that. The color would be purple (blue and red together). It would be so cool.

Ellen, say what you will about Bill O’Reilly, but he carefully researches issues before putting them out there. I tried to find a link to the part of the show where his representative attended the GE stockholders meeting and confronted the CEO with the details of the Garofalo/Olbermann interview asking him in front of God and everybody why he would allow such one-sidedness. The stockholders attending obviously agreed with the O’Reilly rep. Finally the microphone was turned off by GE when the CEO was backed against the wall and couldn’t think of anything else to say.

And, no, it isn’t just republicans who watch “The Factor”, it is diseffected democrats and Independents from the 2008 elections as well. We have no where else to go. Plus, Bill O’Reilly is very different from the rants he did even 5 years ago. I think being compared to Keith Olbermann really got to him and he has tried to be less the mad man he used to relish. I nearly despised B. O’Reilly back then and never dreamed a day would come that I watched his program for real and on a regular basis. But that day did arrive.

Ellen, you are still too doped up on Obama mania to get anything, much less the dirty truth about your idol.

  • FranSC

Right, and don’t be surprised to see GE and NBC/MSNBO go under the bus if that heats up anymore. He’s so thin-skinned he can’t handle much criticism. Then he will decide he doesn’t need them either.

Can’t wait to see how easy he will be to beat in 2012 if everything and everybody that got him fraudulently nominated/elected are all exposed and he can’t use them again. Plus, republicans are beginning to understand how MoveOn.org operated as well as the “Amazing Money Machine” and social networking that made his insidiously evil campaign(s) look smooth and sleek.

  • FranSC

MSN will probably “fix” that before the sun rises!

  • FranSC

I voted 3 times “F”! Whether or not they all counted not sure. They appeared to be accepted.

  • trixta

Yeah, Ani. For most of the GE O’Reilly and much of Fox reporting laid off BO. In the 90s they went after the Clintons like maniacs, but let Obama breeze through with hardly a fight! Go figure!

  • trixta

    yeah

  • trixta

I guess Clinton voted for candidate “Y” (= McCain). LOL!

Really — can you PROVE that??

My father was in the military in the 60s.

Many of the protesters WERE Vietnam vets themselves.

This spitting on the troops has been debunked.

You are insulting the Vietnam vets who worked to stop that stupid useless war.

Who Spit On Vietnam Vets? Not Anti-War Protesters!

More than a year has passed since the invasion of Iraq. Virtually everything major the Bush Administration told us has turned out to be a lie. The only ones who proved truly accurate were those opposed to war. And yet, though the American people have turned solidly against the war, and Michael Moore has filled the theatres, his claims are scrutinized far more skeptically than anything coming from Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice & company. There are many reasons for this, including the widespread perception that anti-war activists are unpatriotic—even traitorous—so nothing they say should be trusted.
This perception is fed by lies.

A prime example is the notion that anti-war protesters spat on returning Vietnam War veterans. This image is deeply ingrained in our culture, casting doubt on every word uttered by any opponent of any war. It is, however, a lie, as Jerry Lembcke convincingly demonstrates in his 1998 book, The Spitting Image—Myth, Memory, and the Legacy of Vietnam. (Text of a speech based on the book is available here.)

Lembcke’s book came out of research stimulated by the first Gulf War. There was a lot of talk then about how anti-war protesters didn’t want to come off as being against the troops. They didn’t want to be like those terrible Vietnam-era protesters, the ones who spit on returning troops.

Lembcke remembered things differently. He remembered serving in Vietnam as a chaplain’s assistant. He remembered returning—like thousands more who also served—to join the protesters who welcomed him with open arms. So he began digging for the truth.

The most damning evidence Lembcke found against this lie was reminiscent of the “curious incident” of the dog that didn’t bark in the middle of the night in the Sherlock Holmes story “The Adventure of Silver Blaze.” Like the missing dog bark, there were no accounts of protesters spitting on veterans when the events supposedly happened—when the nation’s emotions were at a fever pitch, and any such story would have immediately caught on like wildfire. The stories only began to show up later, invariably in urban legend third-person, often in settings and circumstances where they could not have occurred—such as returning soldiers carrying arms, landing in airports where no troops returned. The stories only appeared after the mass media—subtly following Nixon’s lead—had replaced the image of the bad (anti-war) vet with the mad (crazed killer) vet.

Lembcke’s investigation is both fascinating and revelatory. He draws parallels not only to more mundane urban legends, but also to more sinister post-WWI German stories, part of the stab-in-the-back mythology on which the Nazi Party fed, and eventually gained state power. His findings are too rich to summarize here. Rather, I want to develop a point that applies to lies more generally.

It was mainstream culture and society which figuratively spat upon returning veterans—just as the government did, short-changing them on benefits, stonewalling them about post-traumatic stress disorder and the effects of Agent Orange, and doing everything possible to shut them up when they spoke out against the war. The rejection never let up. When homelessness exploded as a national problem under Ronald Reagan in the 1980s, at least a third of them would be Vietnam Veterans—a far cry from the post-WWII era when the GI Bill sent veterans to college, and helped them buy houses in suburbia.

The anti-war movement had every reason to embrace returning veterans—as indeed it did, routinely placing a contingent of anti-war veterans at the head of countless anti-war marches across the land. The movement also helped establish anti-war coffeehouses outside military bases, encouraged the publishing of anti-war GI newspapers, and helped resisters avoid combat—sometimes legally, sometimes not. But the government—and its supportive “silent majority” public—wanted no part of real Vietnam vets, who spoiled the noble propaganda war with their first-hand stories of chaos, confusion, corruption, and pointless slaughter.
The reality of this rejection was clearly too painful for many veterans to bear. Over time, the figurative spit-in-the-face from the government and their own hometown communities was doubly transformed—into a literal spit-in-the-face from the one group it was safe to blame, now that the war was over, and the movement was gone—the anti-war protesters.

What should not be lost is tha Fox is the mirror image of MSNBC. They sold and propped Bush during every second of his campigns and tenure in office. They aided in the knee-capping of McCain in 2000. It was aholes like Rush Limbaugh that kept the base from coming out and supporting him in 2008.

The policies of Bush and the republican congress he had for most of his tenure were wrong for this country. His budgets bled money. His decision to go into Iraq and he way he let Rumsfeld conduct it were also wrong. It took a mid-term loss to get him to change course (Gates/Petraus)

The pro-torture @$$holes who have descended on this blog pointing the finger at those of us who do not support it, and who are blaming us for destroying America, are also wrong. You hold that mantle.

I understand JG had a gig some years ago doing stand up with an A&E production of which she totally sucked, got boo’ed and left the stage after only a couple minutes in tears.

My, an overly sensitive person when it comes to herself, but she surely doesn’t treat others with a fraction of that passion.

  • Katmoon

I recall that Linda, self examination doesn’t seem to be JG’s strong suit. Funny isn’t it, the attitude for herself is one of sensitivity, the attitude directed outward towards others in disagreement is one of an expected, self-evisceration.

  • I’m a Linda too

    Yes, well said.

  • Ms. Angie

So you’re calling him a liar?

Bob Greene’s 1989 book Homecoming has 63 personal accounts of veterans being spit on upon their return from war. Perhaps you should post a passage or letter from his book as well? Or maybe dig a little deeper yourself.

Remember by saying it never happened, you’re insulting the vets that also served, and came home to be disgraced.

  • FLDemFem

I think it was a perfectly natural reaction to the way his wife was treated in the primaries. And it’s his money, he can do what he likes with it. And he probably knew McCain didn’t have a chance to win after Bush. So why not ease his own pique at the stolen nomination by giving some money to John McCain, who was a lot more polite to Hillary than Obummer ever was?? I think it’s funny as hell. Bet Bill did too. And speaking of donations, it’s not anywhere near what Obummer gave to Trinity every year. So if you are going to judge people by who and what they donate to, why not start there?

Sorry I do not believe it — because I am the daughter of a Vietnam Vet/Career Navy.

It was the Vets who return and largely LEAD the protest.

I want proof of the spitting — and until that proof comes — then I’ll consider the source as false “recovered memory”.

I lived that era — I KNOW what happened — you baby faced liars were NOT there.

A thought on the Hate Crimes Legislation.

Watching Glenn Beck this afternoon gave me a bright idea about the hate crime legislation being taken up by Congress. There is a request that an amendment be added to the legislation, which the GLBT considers its sole right, to include members of the Military because they are often ill-treated and subjected to crimes of hate. They should be included! So should many of us!

Consider your life for areas open to public ridicule. My particular cross to bear is obesity whose biggest curse is the fact that it can’t be hidden. I just wrote my senators and congressman requesting that he/she introduce or support an amendment to the hate crime legislation to include crimes committed against the obese. My thought is that if congress would be inundated with emails, letters and phone calls seriously requesting that our various differences, oddities and foibles be protected in the hate crimes law, the law may become less attractive and made nonsensical. There are specific things protected by the Constitution and by certain amendments to it. Attempts to single out entities for special protection by doing an end run around the Constitution risks covering everything to the level of absurdity. Well, let’s be absurd and demand to include everything from the start. Perhaps it will frustrate sponsors of this unconstitutional legislation as truly legitimate requests to be included begin to flow in.

Here is my request to my representatives:

I am requesting that you sponsor or support an amendment to any hate crime legislation that includes Obesity as a category of protection. Obesity is a condition which cannot be hidden from public scrutiny and which crosses all lines of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religious or political belief, in fact, any human category you choose. The obese are targeted for prejudice and discrimination in the workplace and the town square, as well as physical, verbal and emotional assaults across the United States. Therefore crimes against the obese which are perpetrated because of the person’s obesity deserve to be elevated to the level of hate crime.

    What do you think?

Garofalo is awesome. She tells it like it is. And is funny doing it.

“Let’s be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing Democrats. It’s not about taxes. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don’t know their history at all. It’s about hating a black man in the White House.”
    Janeane Garofalo

Almost 100% right, but I would say the tea parties were just about hating Obama and hating losing.
