That Sucking Sound You Hear is Frank Rich

In the wake of Obama’s disastrous debate performance in Philadelphia is it any surprise that Frank Rich is part of the rescue squad? Barack was so listless and feckless last Tuesday that his Obama’s Boys Choir of worshipful bloggers surged into crisis mode to try to repair the damage. Aroused to shrill outrage, the Obama mob denounced ABC News’ Charles Gibson and George Stephanopooulos for having the, er, audacity to ask the transformative messiah some factual questions about his relationships with the likes of his 20 year pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah (“God Damn America!”) Wright, and Weather Underground terrorist and fundraiser William (“I don’t regret setting bombs!”) Ayers. Talk about chickens coming home to roost.
Obama proved that when it comes to verbal tap dancing he ain’t go no rhythm. His responses were a series of passive abstractions, non-answers, and silly defenses. (e.g., Ayers, he said, is “a professor of English in Chicago.” Well, actually a professor of education, something Obama ought to know because he appeared as a state senator at a public forum with him organized by Michelle Obama to discuss legislation Ayers advocated to reduce sentences of violent youth offenders–legislation Obama indeed proposed.) So what does Obama do when he makes a mess of things? Blame Hillary of course, only this time Obama decided to get in touch with his gangsta self. He appeared before bedazzled cultists and did a political rap imitation of his hero, Jay-Z, and flipped Hillary “the middle finga.” Most teenagers would be grounded for a month and have the car keys taken away for such juvenile dramatics but Barack, you see, is THE ONE. Obama’s immature antics were greeted with groveling hallelujahs from the Obama Boys Choir. Cool. A preview of coming attractions when, should he be elected, President Obama can vent his frustrations with the wiley Iranian leader and flip him off. That will be totally cool. For shizz. (Of course this means Obama will probably recant his complaints about Don Imus. When you go gangsta, mime Jay Z (who loves calling ladies bitches and hos), and let your daughters hang out every week at racist, anti-American, anti-Semitic church, how can you keep Don in the doghouse?
Helping lead the mendacity chorus singing Obama’s praises is the basso profundo blunderbuss himself, lying Frank Rich. His latest column in defense of Obama was in keeping with his extraordinary intellectual dishonesty, relying primarily on a jumble of insults, distortions and false accusations. Typical of his method, he blames others for low tactics, but then disrobes and jumps head first into the cesspool. All the while conveniently shaving evidence, omitting significant facts and smearing with abandon.
Rich opines that questions about Wright and Ayers are beyond the pale:
“Of course, Obama fans were angry because of the barrage of McCarthyesque guilt-by-association charges against their candidate, portraying him as a fellow traveler of bomb-throwing, America-hating, flag-denigrating terrorists.”
Unsurprisingly, Rich never mentions Ayers, not once. It’s all “guilt-by-association.” Why bothers with facts when you can accues others of being “McCarthyesque.”
Then Rich moves on to smear Hillary as a way to explain away Obama’s condescending remarks about “bitter” small-town and working class Pennsylvanians at a San Francisco donors’ event. Not only is Hillary at fault for what Obama said, she’s the hypocrite for campaigning for the votes of those “bitter” working people, and she’s also somehow antigay. How’s that?!?!
According to Rich, Hillary was:
“Not content merely to piously feign shock about Mr. Obama’s San Francisco soliloquy (and the operative political buzzword here is San Francisco, which stands for you-know-what), Mrs. Clinton couldn’t resist presenting herself as an unambiguously macho, beer-swilling hunting enthusiast.”
Got it, because Hillary criticized Obama for his demeaning comments made in San Francisco she’s really engaging in a covert antigay smear. Talk about “guilt-by-association.” Once again, Rich is making a Big Lie. He was among one of the first pro-Obama pundits falsely to accuse Hillary of race baiting, when in fact it was the Obama campaign that was pushing that theme. Now, he’s pushing the false notion that Hillary must be antigay because, well, Obama made his stupid statement in San Francisco, and criticizing him must be antigay.
Rich, however, ignores that it was Obama, not Hillary, who refused to give an interview to the Philadellphia Gay News. Hillary gave the interview; Obama did not.
And what about this? The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Obama would not be photographed shaking hands with May Gavin Newsom:
‘Just four years ago, current Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is said to have declined to have his picture taken in San Francisco with Newsom, who was then at the center of a national uproar over his decision to allow same-sex marriage in San Francisco.”
‘”I gave a fundraiser, at his (Obama’s) request at the Waterfront restaurant,” said former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown. “And he said to me, he would really appreciate it if he didn’t get his photo taken with my mayor. He said he would really not like to have his picture taken with Gavin.”‘

And it is Obama, not Clinton, who has surrounded himself with a bevy of ministers known for anti-homosexual advocacy. In fact, the title of Obama’s book, The Audacity of Hope, comes from a sermon by Jeremiah Wright that included an anti-gay diatribe.
Leave it to little Frankie Rich to attack Hillary Clinton for the actual conduct and record of Obama. He proves that hatred is blind, because he has demonstrated beyond any doubt that he is willing to ignore facts in pursuit of his love for Barack Obama. We know that nature abhors a vacuum. Does that also mean that nature abhors the vacuous mind of Frank Rich? I think so.
