that is disrespectful to put the sign in her father's grave. because it puts alot of pressure on her father's spirit. so she needs to take it out.

Tears here too.

I think it is safe to say we do this for love.

You guys remind me why I was proud to be a democrat my whole life. Lately I sure need reminding of that.

I wrote the DNC (lots of good THAT does) to tell them my loyalty now is with HER and not the party.

Thank you for sharing, NH. I am touched by the story & the hospitality of the "small town" people!
Mr. Rodham is proud of his daughter & granddaughter.
We are all praying for Hillary to be the next U.S.A. President.

New Hamster you were probably just a mile or so from my house today. I live just a few minutes from Lake Winola. Thank you for a wonderful story, as all of your posts are. You are truly a gentle soul. I'm glad your stay in Scranton was all you hoped for. Have you seen the Rodham homestead in Scranton? That's a favorite haunt of college kids when Hillary is in town, because she always drives by.

NewHamster, with your heartfelt observations and gift for writing you've gone a long way to dispel the idea that we're all guntoting slobbering hicks. We're just another small town in America. That's America with a 'c'. I've been saying it for a while... NE Pa is Hillary country. When you're here, it's impossible not to believe. I think it'll be a blowout tonight.

Have fun celebrating. I have a sneaky feeling you just might get to meet Hillary tonight.:)

This post was a very heartfelt, special post as well as quietly dignified. It also made a wonderful salute to family tradition which is so often forgotten and trodden upon in our current world.

Hillary is a truly inspirational and brilliant woman. Last night listening to her rally on C-Span brought tears to my eyes, especially when I began to think of our fore mothers who fought so painstakingly and tirelessly to get women the right to vote. What would Elizabeth Cady Stanton think right now and her best friend Susan B. Anthony? I'm sure they would marvel at this historic achievement. I truly hope that the young women of today will take the time to advance their understanding of women's history in this country. They need to truly comprehend the ultimate sacrifice many women made with their lives, just for the right to vote, to be heard and to live lives of respect and honour.

Enough said. I can't wait to hear the primary results.

As a proud Scranton native(now a Florida retiree) I just loved this article. The photo of Mr. Rodhams gravestone was particularly moving because my family members, including my coal miner grandfather, are buried in that same cemetery, the Washburn Street Cemetery. Thank you for capturing the spirit of Pennsylvanians, warm, proud, hardworking folks- the people who Obama could never understand. These are Hillary's roots- salt of the earth.
Go Hillary '08

Well, this kind of behavior will backfire. Think about it. What gets people's backs up more than being told what to do in a threatening way? I know myself, the minute someone tells me to do something in an aggressive way, I will do the exact opposite even if it's not what I would have done to begin with.
