Barack Obama, From Hope and Change to Mr. Cellophane

Quick now.  A couple of questions.  How can Barack be viewed seriously as the candidate of “hope” and “change” when he is the candidate of the entrenched, Democratic, dynastic families?  If you have got the Kennedys, the Caseys, the Daleys, and the Hoffas in your corner, what exactly are you going to change?

Based on tonight’s performance in Pennsylvania, the only “hope” Barack is offering is to the Republicans.  If he is the Democrats’ candidate come November they will have a solid shot at victory.  And on the change front?  Barack will change the odds of the Democrats ability to wrest control of the White House from almost certain to almost impossible.

You da man.  If he accomplishes this feat, he may have no recourse but to seek solace in Chicago. The musical, not the city.  As performed by John C. Reilly in the movie, CHICAGO.

    Basic bottom line is simple:

Obama track record 3 wins 1 loss (to another Dem) all other wins via dirty politics of eliminating opponents!

Clinton track record Clintons 7 GOP 0 including Hills 2-0 record so far in the Senate!

What is really disturbing is the SD not tating that Fla and Mich are required and get them on board NOW!

WTF is CNN talking about it is about Party building now for, it is about winning the WH in November!

The new spin is the DNP is in ruins or possible ruins by CNN pundants WTF!

  • Betty

AS I drove home tonight I realized that I was begenning to think of Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi and of course Dean and Brazile as irrelevant. The stronger Hillary gets the the more impotent they seem.

For Kennedy – the end of an era.

  • CeeHussein

    Nothing is ahead AND…

As NBC’s Chuck Todd points out tonight, Clinton’s chances of winning the nomination based on pledged delegates is effectively over tonight.

If Obama keeps his pledged delegate lead to around 150, Clinton needs to win 70% of them on May 6 — and if not, 80% of them after May 6.

That’s more than next to impossible.

  • beebop

    Fuck you.

And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

He can’t win in a state that isn’t a caucus state. He hasn’t won a state other than Vermont in how long?

When do his “committed” super delegates start to say “see ya’?”

  • blueasthesky

Just in case nobody’s posted this around here, Bill Clinton on WHYY Philadelphia says the Obama campaign played the race card:

  • apishapa

Taylor Marsh has the funniest post ever. Something like Russert ran screaming from the building, Olbermann is crying and Tweety can’t feel his legs. She is hilarious.

  • beebop

I guess they have found their spin.

  • karen for Clinton

Many of us have known that since South Carolina. It has been in the NYT Caucus blog twice, they are pushing it.

Yeah they did, and i’m glad Bill told them the person off. He’s right, he don’t have to take it.

Sean Wilentz wrote two definitive articles on the subject. Raceman was the first.

Go Bill, they can’t change the truth, we know better than that.

They can lie but it all comes out in the wash.

  • karen for Clinton

Yeah, a big thank you to No Quarter, Taylor Marsh, Talk Left – you guys spoke for me.

    Hillary speaks for me.

I live in PA, there will be a lot of happy folks at work tomorrow. AFSCME had her back.

    Hello Larry,

I see you are brutally honest, as always…

    Refreshing!

Congratulations on helping to bring about a huge victory for Hillary — I’m sure Pennsylvania folks visit your excellent blog.

From the screeching troll volume I see around here, I’d say you are doing quite well! :)

    Ciao,

    G-N-G

  • Hope

Yeah like Wow! I mean, you know, I mean, WTF happened man?

  • jwrjr

The important bit being that Obama played the race card … and lost. Ain’t it fun?

  • http://a-civilife.blogspot.com Will

We need to demand that FLA and MI be counted, either as is or in a do over. The national party should pay for it. They’re flush with corporate cash, and they caused the problem by exculding the States in the first place. Obama is only where he’s at now by his young worshippers flooding undemocratic caucuses. And including the two States would give a semblance of democracy to the process.

  • Kourian

Yeah agreed. And thanks to them all. And Uppity too! ;)

  • Kourian

Or when Coward Dean asks for more $$$ tell him fine – as soon as he seats the delegates. Someone’s already started that in another thread here. :)

John C. Reilly was hysterical in Walk Hard! He’s amazingly talented.

I’m sooo glad that y’all have hung in there for Hillary. Let the Baaarack Obaaaama bleaters go over the cliff for their Charlatan. He has no center. He is not grounded. He is transparent in this greed. He is Mr. Cellophane.

Hell, I even admit that W. can dance! Fair is fair and Hillary Clinton razzle dazzled them tonight, so why isn’t she getting a ticker tape parade from the media?

Cretins like Creepy Old Bill Maher, Olderman, Potato Head and Chris Tingler refuse to report on Oblamer’s gigantic character flaws and professional shortcomings, yet it doesn’t make them young, just foolish.

I see the very people who support the Great Oblamer doing jackass things every day. I don’t want to be a teenager again. I never liked Hip Hop or any other shit like it.

I want a tough thick-skinned fighter for President like Hillary Clinton. Not some elitist whiney pussy like Oblamer who couldn’t be bothered to walk across the street to piss on his followers if they were on fire.

  • workingclass artist

Add to that Maureen GAGODOWD…She s haing a fit and calling Hillary the attack of the 50 foot woman…

  • workingclass artist

Exactly…That’s what this has been about. The left had their puppet candidate and have been trying to shove him down the democratic collective throat because they don’t want to cede power to the centrists. So they dressed up the lil prince in centrist clothes hoping that prince’s radical left assoc. wouldn’t make a difference. Either way OBAMESSIAH is headed for political oblivion…And he didn’t wait long enough to build a political record to fall back on after losing. The power trip is very obvious to the dem. base. I think no matter what happens there will be a great house cleaning in the party of almost epic proportions.

  • workingclass artist

Yeah….He also used the word shit off mike..saying he shouldn’t have to deal with this shit from OBAMEDIA and his campaign. The puritan and hypocritical press are having a field day with it. What they don’t understand is Ol’ Bill is speakin to her base….They don’t care if his danders up…So is ours…Bill Clinton for First Dude….

  • workingclass artist

Ceehussein….You and Your candidate are headed for POLITICAL OBLIVION…..so say the working class voters……

  • beebop

The New York Times editorial is terrible.

What the hell is Maureen trying to say? The better candidate should quit? Really? Just to make her happy?

The comments to the editorial are heavily running in his favor, but the approvals at the bottom to the comments are in Hillary’s favor. If you have time, scan them and approve those that make sense to you. It is a fairly easy process.

It took HOURS for mine to show up (pattym9) and I know that several of you have posted and they may or may not be up yet.

Rank Rich is taking a lot of heat about whether he penned the editorial. If you are looking to raise your blood pressure, have at it.

For me, I love a victory in the morning!

  • beebop

Just one of the “new, progressive voices from the comments section at the Washington Post” blog: Sad thing is she/he has a parent paying for their education as we speak:

    CRE8SENSE wrote:
Looks like the hicks and coal-miners won again. Sigh. Until this embarrassing portion of our population starts using condoms in high school, stops believing everything they hear on the 700 club, and realizes that steel and coal jobs went out in the 60s, we will be forever affected by their poor life decisions. It’ a shame that politicians need to court these people when in fact it should be the opposite. Am I classist? Absolutely, when it comes to being fed up with the worst and dumbest part of our population making the rest of us suffer as they did by voting for Bush/Cheney. I really do wish I could love all of my compatriots again–like right after 9-11 or even during Hillary’s husband’s presidency. But I just can’t. It’s like asking me to watch endless reruns of Jerry Springer. With a recession in full swing, hopefully what goes around comes around and these PA idiots will get exactly what they deserve.

“he is the candidate of the entrenched, Democratic, dynastic families? If you have got the Kennedys, the Caseys, the Daleys, and the Hoffas in your corner, what exactly are you going to change?”

And you’re suggesting that Clinton, one of the entrenched, democratic, dynastic (wanna be) scions… is somehow going to bring about change? That’s funny

Face facts Larry – neither represents (a lot of) change other than a change from the policies and practices of the current admin.

  • beebop

Why don’t you fucking go somewhere they are doing the Obama spin control circle jerk this morning? I’m sure they are missing a couple of hands.
