Obama’s Do Caca Ization

PhotobucketFace it.  Obama is doing a 21st Century update on the Dukakis riff, with this important exception–the Democrats have not committed the equivalent of political suicide yet.

But as Susan notes below, the Republicans are not waiting for the convention to start hanging the albatross of Jeremiah “Goddamn the KKK of Amerikka” Wright around the neck of anyone who supports Obama.  This is guilt by association and standard politics.

Obama sitting in church with Wright for 20 years and calling him Uncle is not guilt by association.  He is guilty because of close association.Little comfort to other Dems running for office who tie themselves to Barack’s coattails. They will find Barack’s name to be useful currency only if it is in predominantly African American districts or wealthy enclaves where said black folks normally aren’t welcome to hang around.  Otherwise, said politician will be toast.

It is only a matter of time before Obama’s ties to questionable characters like Ayers, Rezko, and Wright will become a staple for Jay Leno and David Letterman.

For example, there is a joke circulating among Hillary supporters.  It is in poor taste and juvenile and therefore, in my view, very funny:

What do Barack Obama and Osama Bin Laden have in common?  They both have friends who bombed the Pentagon

If Super Delegates pursue their death wish and toss support to Barack despite his pathetic show in the last five primaries then this is only the beginning of the jokes.  Mark my words–Barack will be looking for the funny-looking tank helmet Mike Dukakis wore while sitting in a turret.

Looking foolish will be the least of his concerns.  He’ll be seeking shelter from the verbal brickbats hurled at him.  But it is the Democrats’ who will suffer the real damage.  Their chance of regaining control of the White House will be extinguished as the images of Ayers, Wright, and Rezko are seared into the American conscience.  And if you believe the Republicans won’t do this, just look at North Carolina today.

I have been saying for some time that when the repubs start swiftboating Obama, it will not be pretty. And the repubs will not even need to lie about him (although they probably will, just to keep in practice). The truth will be bad enough.

    • http://hyper-eductated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity

I would enjoy every minute of it.

To borrow a quote, “our grief will not be excessive”.

      • flyarm

me too Uppity!! I was called a racist yesterday by a long time associate..because i pointed out the Middle finger to Hillary and the flick of the shoulder thing..now i could be called lots of things..and some i could even justify if i am honest…but a racist? In my 57 years..i have never been called that..by anyone…

what this person didn’t know was , i am married 35 yrs to a double minority ..and my children are also double minorities.

it has surely gotten pathetic by the Obama-ites when they can’t defend the indefensible ,they attack personally..with all lack of credibility.

        fly

        • wry

wow, you too? I was called racist by my dumb ass nephew, who forgot that I am married to a Black man – or at least as black as Barack.
With all the millions of Black people in the world, can’t you criticize one without being a racist?

          • fooj

Rather than openly and honestly debate the issues, the Obamabrats hurl insulting accusations. It’s much easier to accuse ANYONE who refuses to support Little Lord Obama a racist. It’s ALL that they have.

          • beebop

No. He really likes to categorize people himself so he figures everyone does it.

He projects his own short comings on others and calls them out for his personal failures. Its really quite diabolical.

        Obama = Bush.

I still can’t believe RePUGs couldn’t sit on their attacks until after BArry wraps this thing up.

He’s proving to be easily defeated. Why take a chance on HILLARY getting a benefit from their early ads?

Ok I’ll answer that myself. Our vote is coming up even though I’ve already cast mine early. I think MOST NC’rs have already voted. But, it would move more late deciders into Hill’s corner.

So why are they helping her I wonder? They must be very afraid of Bev. Perdue. (whom I did end up voting for) sigh oh well.

Bev’s loss could be Hill’s gain and that’s a GOOD thing! (sorry Bev)

    • ChrisXP

I still can’t believe RePUGs couldn’t sit on their attacks until after BArry wraps this thing up.

He’s proving to be easily defeated. Why take a chance on HILLARY getting a benefit from their early ads?

They’re banking that Hillary won’t benefit, because they’re waiting for Hillary to destroy Obama.

And then they also have an ace up their sleeve: all the Hillary supporters voting for McCain if Obama wins the nomination (so they can’t really play hard ball with Hillary, as they need every vote possible as insurance to beat Obama).

All McInsane has to do is wait until the nominee is picked; then release the flood. Unlike with the Dems, they don’t have to worry about the Black vote anyway, so it can be a v-e-r-y racially toned campaigned (the GOP isn’t doing it now, because they don’t want to lose potential disgust votes).

I just hope the presidential phase doesn’t turn into PCness crap. Let it all hang out: race, gender and age! :)

    • Dawnelle

I read he also was born only 6 months after Mom and Dad tied the knot. Which is not his fault of course.

But, the word LEGITIMATE comes to mind. And how that would tend to mess a kid up if they KNEW? Thus setting him on a course to find it.

BO seems bright enough to have figured that out at some point. Explaining another reason for his apparent dislike of people like ME. I don’t think the divorce messed him up as much as the abandonment. Just a feeling.

      • Janis

And what’s his response to the abandonment? To erase his mother, idolize his father, and hate the shit out of middle-aged white women because one of them had the temerity to love and raise him.

        • workingclass artist

Ehemmm…..Barry has a serious conflict with his cracker side….Nuff said….

        • beebop

He also had a need to romanticize it out of proportion to reality. The Kennedy lift out of Kenya? Not factual. His parents meeting as a result of Selma? Not factual. These “stories” are either public relations efforts or the result of a really big psychological problem. I personally think that RR’s alzheimer’s started while he was still in the WH. Just my opinion. Thankfully nothing terribly wrong occurred. But with BO, he surrounds himself with a cast of characters that I don’t want making the decisions if he is (as they say in the UK), “a bit of a nutter.”

          • workingclass artist

The problem with Baby-O is that he is indicative of that generation at the bottom of the baby boom and preceding GenX…Anyone who has seen the movie DAZED AND CONFUSED would understand how
well kindafucked up these individuals are….I’m one of them and although I’m a pretty decent person I would’nt vote for myself….I’m just sayin’……Chuckle……

            • runtymom

I must say this post made me think as I have had this feeling of “where have I met this guy before?” Then it hit me yesterday when I read somewhere that Barry O is also an end of the line baby boomer like myself. Born in 61 is he….. Ah yes, he reminds me of all those assholes I went to school with, hung out with, raised my children with who are TOTALLY self absorbed and think nothing of stopping you mid sentence as you tell them one of your parents just died to tell you about their new BMW or their trip to Belize. Yep, that’s Baby O alright. I am sad to say I belong to the same club but do not (god help me) behave in the same manner.
A whole group of people in that little club who feel they are entitled to anything and everything and it should be handed to them on a silver platter and NOW dammit! Yeah, he’s a trip alright. Head case is what he is….

          • alibe

Believe me, Ronnie had Alzheimer’s while in his first term in the White House. I knew it. And it is apparent in his debates in 1984. The press was shocked at how badly he had done in early debates. By the end they were fawning all over Ronnie Reagan because he knew his name. (slight exaggeration, but only slight). I just couldn’t believe that the media wouldn’t see it or mention it. (How naive I was to think the media was not in on the corruption). As it is now. There is a complicity to the rise of Obama that is too familiar and too repulsive.

        • wry

Janis, I hope I meet you one day. You give me my best quotes.

      • ChrisXP

But, the word LEGITIMATE comes to mind.

Today’s society is so full of vice, out of wedlock babies are a dime a dozen now. Blame it on the 60s and 70s “free love” (which helped to spread AIDS even, because no one was willing to put gays in confinement as a matter of public health [unlike they do with Tuberculosis even, in a mistaken belief that it's "discrimination" -- say it to any TB patient who doesn't take their meds!]).

        • Donald from Hawaii

“No one was willing to put gays in confinement as a matter of public health”? Yuck.

Please keep such personal value judgments to yourself.

        • beebop

Come on. AIDS in the 60′s and 70′s? Please give us some facts for that one. I for one am fascinated to see where that comes from. And, before you snap at that, remember that there are people reading this who are of very diverse cultural and sexual backgrounds. Not to mention that the HIV/AIDS epidemic is hitting the femal AA population the hardest. Men on the “downlow” are the ones responsible for that problem.

          • workingclass artist

PURITANISM…..is not the answer……I’m just sayin’

            • beebop

Chris XP was just trying to rouse some people about HIV/AIDS and he doesn’t know that we know how to do the google and use the internets …. ;)

Who is Michelle trying to say doesn’t run their own house? Hillary has PROVEN herself to have done a beautiful job of raising an incredible daughter, and Bill (despite his indiscretions) is in absolute awe of Hillary. Maybe Michelle is thinking about Jack Ryan and the previous race her husband was in for the U.S. Senate seat he forgets he forgets he is supposed to be doing.

Is Michelle referring to the Obama house, as in, if he can’t get her to shut up, how can he expect run the country? Considering that she previously publicly bitch slapped him for not making his (their?) bed correctly and not being able to put up the breakfast butter, perhaps this was a follow on to that event.

      • Patrick Henry

Boy would that be a turn around from George W. and Laura Bush..in the White House…I have a feeling everyone who know that MICHELLS IN THE HOUSE…

No, he wasn’t divorced and yes, that would make him a bigamist, therefore, technically under American law, there isn’t any legitinacy to BO.
Do you think he gets a lot of his hatred because of his school friends teasing (hey! here comes Barry the Bas*ard) Just thinking out loud!

        • wry

I think he was teased for being fat, which is why he makes references to being “skinny” in a false self deprecating way. I also think that was the reason for all the smoking.

Michelle refers to herself as “young”, although she’s getting long in the tooth and he calls himself skinny, although deep down inside he’s fat little Barry.

No wonder he wouldn’t eat in that chocolate factory.

          • fooj

Did you know that one of the first words he learned while living in Indonesia was curang? It means…CHEATER…oh, the irony.

He’s been a whiner and a “perpetual victim” since his childhood. Some things never change.

I bet the kids were lining up to play with him. BWAHAHAHAHA!

      • Mary

No, he didn’t divorce the first wife. But he also didn’t TELL Obama’s Mom or her parents that there was another wife until after Obama was born. O’s Mom divorced O’s Dad, because of the previous marriage, but never told O about his Dad’s bigamy.

O didn’t find that out until he visited Africa in his early 20′s (Dad already dead), and he discovered there were multiple wives and children all over the village. As a Muslim family, O’s dad felt “entitled” to multiple wives.

      • Retired

Muslims can have up to four wives at a time, so no problem with being married to a girl in Kenya and then marrying Barry’s mom.

    • beebop

Maybe she was just talking about real estate taxes? You know, something not in the least controversial …

  • Catriley

You know what’s sad is that Dukakis is a totally interesting, brilliant, and humble guy, who was trashed by the media in that snide little “popular’s lunch table” way. Of course, they are also guilty of propping up ridiculously under-qualified “populars” in elections. Bowling For Soup said it best.. “High School Never Ends”

    The American Media:
    Destroying Excellent Candidates Since 1979

    • Janis

Dukakis also allowed himself to be trashed. I recall Doonesbury showing him as a giant pile of mud. He allowed himself to be completely demolished by the right wing without even the slightest peep. It was repulsive. I will never forgive him for letting that revolving door justice ad run for SO DAMNED LONG before his campaign struck back in the cheapest, most showstring possible way about a week before the fucking election.

He had no fight in him at all. It was revolting.

      • Catriley

Dukakis is a brilliant guy. If you heard him speak at length about substansive issues, you’d be amazed. But.. the guy was never a politician at heart. I think that was a huge problem for him. And you’re only as good as your advisors. If you recall, Kerry took an eternity to respond to the swiftboaters.

Of course, we are now seeing what happens when you do fight back, the media jumps on your shit for being negative. I think Dukakis would be much more suited for advisory or cabinet roles. I’m not sure how he got as far as he did toward the presidency when he didn’t have a presidential vibe at all.

        • Janis

The media jumps on your shit for being negative, but the voters like it. :-) People are enjoying seeing Hillary fight back. It’s a lot better than the demoralizing effect of watching your guy disappear under a growing pile of mud.

          • John

Totally agree. The problem Dukakis had was that he overestimated the American public- he thought they would be turned off by negative ads, and would admire his refusal to fight back. The opposite happened- his refusal to fight back made it even easier for Bush Sr. to paint him as a wuss who would not be able to stand up to the world’s bad guys.

Kerry seemed to feel the same way- if you don’t respond, the problem will just go away. Wrong- you will just appear weak.

The media attacks Hillary for fighting back, calls her negative- and then wrings it’s hands and weeps with fury when she wins. Because they know the public likes a fighter. On some level, we don’t like negative ads, but on another level, we think “hey, here’s a candidate who’s not going to take shit lying down.”

Even people who don’t care for Hillary can’t help but admire her tenacity. She’s not letting Pat Leahy, Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman, or anyone else tell her what to do. She’s giving them a big Fuck Off and going on to win. And more and more people are responding with, “Good for you! Give’em Hell Hllary!”

            • workingclass artist

The longer she stays in the fight …..The more she reminds traditional democrats of our party action heroes….FDR and Give em Hell Truman come to mind…..

            • simon, too

No, actually, the problem was a republican ad campaign that wasn’t countered effectively.

In addition, there were questionable shenanigans from the republicans, and, like now, and Dukakis overall was a weak candidate.

The democratic leaders have a contender in Clinton, they’re not asking themselves why they choose such a facile, specious corrupt candidate like Obama.

Look at Brazille, look at Dean, and Kennedy, they’re out of touch.

The republican campaign, as it stand now, is failing, has failed. Other than bullying, they ARE DUMB, wholly impotent.

              • alibe

I have serious doubts about the loyalty of Brazille to the Democratic party.

          • wry

I”M enjoying when she fights back!

        • alibe

makes one wonder who owns the advisers. Apparently, Mark Penn had a conflict of interest with some advisers of Obama and McCain. Who gives the advice? What are their motives? A candidate becomes exhausted during a campaign. Very vulnerable to unethical advisers. or moles or traiters. It is why politicians put such a premium on loyalty. Often a catch 22 situation.

    • http://hyper-eductated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity

He was too far left. He also couldn’t connect with regular people. This is always a problem when the far left picks a candidate. They just can’t mix. People see them as out of touch with most of America, as is the far right. Dukakis, McGovern, Gene Mccarthy, all had that same aura. Hart would have never made it either if he hadn’t been knocked out of the box for his sleeping habits. Kerry had a snob aura too. Even I couldn’t stand him but I voted for him under duress. Barry’s aura is even more predominant than theirs was. He’s really a bust in a GE. We keep picking these out of touch jerks and that’s why we have put only two presidents in office in thirty years. And one of them was a one termer besides. Democrats make shitting picks with shocking regularity. They snatch defeat from victory.

      • mimi

        Uppity,

You’ve just explained why I’m no longer a Democrat.

        Thank you,

        Independent from now on

      • Catriley

I met Dukakis, and his wife Kitty, and heard him speak at length a few times. And have read his writings. I’m not sure that he’s too far left, but he was much too much of a brainiac to appeal to many voters. He came across like an accountant from the NorthEast. Though there have probably been some brilliant people that could have run this country like a well-oiled machine, they lacked that personability and connection with the public, and that certain something that people look for in a president.

Yeah, I don’t understand why they Democratic Party seems to keep foisting these candidates on us who seem destined to lose? It’s like they’re so irritated with the fact that Bill Clinton, a moderate, kicked ass — that they’re willing to go down in flames if it means they can keep pushing these snob candidates. I definitely think there is a battle brewing in the Party, and the ultra-left elites are trying to buy control.

I don’t want McCain to win, but I will be happy to say “I told you so!” to the Huffingtons and Markos and Brazilles, et al, if they succeed in shoving Obama down our throat for the GE.

        • may not have to leave the party

they may end up with control. but if they do, there won’t much there to control.

          • simon, too

            I disagree.

Dear Donna, Howard, Arianna, Markos, Josh, and Nancy,

          PMS

        • CeeHussein

          Cat,

This is for all the angry dems who plan to vote for him.

Fact: Yesterday the Senate voted on whether to consider a bill that would have removed a truly heinous limitation on a woman’s right to sue an employer for gender-based discrimination in pay.

Fact: The time for the vote was extended to allow the Presidential candidates to return to Washington to vote on the measure.

Fact: The vote was 56-42, four votes short of the 60-vote supermajority required for cloture. That means 98 Senators voted, and two didn’t. Sens. Clinton and Obama, of course, hurried back to DC to participate in the vote.

Fact: John McCain was one of the two who didn’t.

Fact: When asked about his views on the matter, McCain responded,

I am all in favor of pay equity for women, but this kind of legislation, as is typical of what’s being proposed by my friends on the other side of the aisle, opens us up to lawsuits for all kinds of problems. This is government playing a much, much greater role in the business of a private enterprise system.

          • beebop

Most of us here have made the decision to write in Senator Clinton’s name.

I will never vote for someone who has disenfranchised two states by blocking every revote effort and apparently is too concerned about his mounting gaffes that always seem to come in unscripted moments to stand up and debate. The only way to prevent John McCain from occupying the White House is to prevent Obama from being the Democratic party candidate. Because as sure is there was no support for his canidacy outside of his existing base in Pennsylvania, there is none in the rest of the country.

A vote for Obama is a vote for McCain.

            • Talktruth

CEE HUSSEIN is one of those Obama crazies who have taken on HUSSEIN as a middle name in solidarity with BARACK HUSSEIN…kind of like the X after Malcolm adopted by his followers.

They’re all over Talking Points Memo.

            Go back to TPM, Cee.

        • John

My dad was in Dukakis’s cabinet in Massachusetts (though we are Vermonters by way of New Jersey) and would have worked in the White House if he had won….oh well…..Dukakis was one hundred percent a decent, honorable man who would have made a fantastic president, with enlightened progressive policies grounded in common sense economic realities. He would have been a tough but realistic Commander in Chief too. Really, a lost opportunity.

But he wouldn’t fight back. Fatal Flaw.

          • simon, too

See, people have made that same comment about Kerry, and they’ve tried to apply it to Obama, but it isn’t as easy as just “fighting back.”

Sometimes, the other tries to draw you into a fight, baiting, so they can further exploit you.

It’s a matter of HOW you fight back, and now that the republicans are in this position, esp in Iraq, they can’t, they’ve lost.

The strategies the RNC uses politically are essentially the same they use militarily.

If it failed in Iraq, and it did, it will, HAS failed, here, too, given the right team is handling them.

I think the Clinton’s can beat it, Obama cannot.

The republicans are not smart, they can’t figure out how to fight Clinton, excpet to bully, and that doesn’t work.

The republicans also can’t govern, from the war to the eceonmy.

Tells you everything you need to know about how they think.

      • CAE

        Uppity–

        You rock!!

      • Nellie

        Whoa Uppity!

I ususally agree with you but think the comments are a bit off base. Please let me explain why.

Dukakis and Kerry share the same New England reflex, as I do. It is unnatural for us to verbally acknowledge trash or stupidity. We somehow pick up from our parents, and the people around us, that outrageous behavior, and words, should NOT be responded to. Most of us, except the High Schoolers, just look down our nose in contempt and then turn our backs on whatever idiot is out of line. And yes, I too appreciate the very classy way in which Hillary responds and fights back – I am just pointing out a natural regional reflex or difference.

As to Dukakis not being able to connect with people, that is patently untrue. Dukakis is not only brilliant, but one of the nicest, and most decent people you would want to meet.

Since it was my bright idea to rent college space to the community, the powers that were decided it was a great idea, and the program should reside in my office since I thought of it.

When he was running, Dukakis personally came to my office, and asked about rules, regulations, payment and etc. He also was willing to eat meals 3 times a week in the cafe with students so they could ask questions. He was so cooperative, and decent, I resented the fact that I had cooked up some of the contract constraints.

Bush on the other hand, through Atwater, tried every trick in the book NOT to follow common sense safety and fire regulations, and was extremely creative in trying to break every requirement and cheat people out of their money. He also had his people bullying students and they created a furor whenever he or his minion were around.

Just my 2 cents from NH.

Look….I liked Duakis….But whenever the Democratic party forgets it’s roots we are creamed by the GOP…..When we fight like FDR or Truman we win…..

What do Barack Obama and Osama Bin Laden have in common? They both have friends who bombed the Pentagon

Wow, that is powerful and true.

And don’t forget, do we really want to allow Obama to control our nuclear arsenal? That really concerns me. My family and my community can’t afford to gamble our lives with someone who coddles terrorists.

    • Patrick Walker

Let’s not get carried away here. Obama hardly “coddled” Ayers. The whole problem here is Obama’s association with him results in very poor optics. There are still unanswered questions Obama refuses to answer, and now ducking the debates coupled with his intense dislike of answering questions from reporters, there is less oppurtunity. Did anyone ever stop to wonder why all the Obama questions came all out at once on ABC?

For example, how much influence did Obama have in helping divert monies to AAAN? Was it somenoe else who did it, like Ayers? Did Obama know? Did he disagree? Did he attempt to stop it? It is actually in his best interests to simply come out and say so now, before the 527s run off to the Twilight Zone with this stuff.

I pointed out on another board during a discussion about McCain’s link of Hamas to Obama. It’s tenuous at best, but if these questions about AAAN linger, inevitably the RW hate machine is going to start saying that AAAN money made it’s way to groups like Hamas. Obama will have an incredible time to dismiss this issue even with the truth. That’s the problem with whisper campaigns. It’s obvious how these associations can snowball REALLY quickly. What’s even more annoying is that all these questions should have been asked ages ago.

Time and again, Obama is setting himself up, and if I can see how the Republicans can do this, imagine how much more mileage they can get when they pay professionals. I’m just an amateur and I can see this from a mile away. I can’t believe Obama cannot see that he is actually the master of his own misfortune.

Again, if you are going after Obama over Ayers, you have to at least connect Obama and him with something substantial and not run off into witchunt territory. AAAN is a good start.

      • http://myspace.com/loyaldissent Garlic-Nosed Guitarist

        Hello,

I stand by my assertion and will continue to repeat it as I deem fit. And it doesn’t matter what I or you think about this anyway. America won’t put the control of its nuclear arsenal in Obama’s hands. Yes, that’s just an opinion as well, which I will continue to repeat as it rings true to me. You can continue to voice your opinion and I appreciate your post.

        Bottom line for me:

Obama is unelectable because of his bad judgment, including the coddling of terrorists.

The delegates will decide this, not you or me.

Hillary has the cash and momentum to continue and will do so no matter how much anyone whines about it. Not say YOU are whining, but in general. :)

        Thanks!

        • John

Obama would spend the entire fall campaign on the defensive. If he HAS any specific program besides pushing for Hope and Change and Unity, we’ll never hear it, because he’ll be constantly trying to deflect attacks (and, judging from what’s happening so far, failing at it.)

Air Obama Radio will be of no help to Barack- their hosts will spend every minute repeating GOP attacks and explaining that Wright WAS CORRECT in his assessment of race relations in the US, why Ayers was RIGHT in what he did to oppose the Vietnam War, and why Obama’s Kenyan connections are a GOOD thing. Because like their candidate, they are totally unwilling to admit that they are WRONG- they’ll defend to the end their idiotic policy positions. The end comes the second Tuesday in November. And it’s going to hurt.

And when Obama goes down like the Hindenburg, we’ll hear that it’s because we are ignorant racists who Got Distracted By Non-Issues. Blah blah blah.

      • http://myspace.com/loyaldissent Garlic-Nosed Guitarist

Again, if you are going after Obama over Ayers, you have to at least connect Obama and him with something substantial and not run off into witchunt territory.

I’m not running off into any territory. I recall Obama’s explanation for his relationship with Ayers was he was just some guy in the neighborhood. That does not jive with what we know, does it?

I think this is substantial, please correct any of it that you feel is wrong (I have not heard Obama deny any of this, have you?):

As an Illinois state senator in 2001, Mr. Obama accepted a $200 contribution from William Ayers, a founding member of the group that bombed the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon during the 1970s.

Mr. Ayers wrote a memoir, “Fugitive Days,” published in 2001, and on the day of the September 11 terrorist attacks, he was quoted by the New York Times as saying: “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.”

He and Mr. Obama served together on the nine-member board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago nonprofit, for three years beginning in 1999, and they have also appeared jointly on two academic panels, one in 1997 and another in 2001. Mr. Ayers, who was never convicted in the Weather Underground bombings, is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

So we have at least a political friendship that began in 1995, and they became professional colleagues in 1999.

More details will certainly emerge if the MSM decides that the Democratic front-runner’s association with a terrorist matters to voters.

And that is how the issue should be framed. William Ayers was a terrorist, and as of a few years ago, –if we believe the New York Times– an unrepentant terrorist.

Hmmmm….does that mean that anyone who is employed by the Dept of Education at the Univ of IL should also be suspect of ‘something’ because they worked alongside this terrorist? I guess his neighbors, barber, dentist and dr. should also be included as they may have exchanged words and/or money with this terrorist? I happen to know his wife well – your characterization of him is so….well, ridiculous. a 60′s radical – there are a lot like Bill Ayers running around, you know, aging hippies. Only he actually has a respectible job, position in his community and advises politicians when called upon. You’d be surprised!

Let’s have a closer look at some of Hillary and Bill and Chelsea’s friends and acquaintences….where to begin?

            Hello again,

It’s not a matter of being suspect, its Obama’s judgment. Didn’t they serve together on a board? Correct me if I am wrong.

In any case, how does one explain away the Wright issue? The Republicans are already going after Obama on it. This blog is a cake-walk compared for what they have in store for him. Look for the GOP Obama video post here at NQ.

And since the MSM has not done its job, many of us wonder what else do they know about but haven’t told us? I think its a fair question.

            Thanks!

          • PMS

I’m an aging hippie peacenik who was associated with the SDS (coming out of my work with members of SNVCC) until 1968 when Ayers and Dohrn and their ilk took it over. I left the anti-war movement when I saw that some of my associates were receiving aid and materials from North Viet Nam. I had friends killing and getting killed over there. My opposition to the war was an expression of my patriotism.

But too many in the Movement had become traitors to their country. I repented (and repent) of my association with these people. Ayers is one of those, and still fails to repent. Like Obama, he is a child of privilege who has never had to truly face the consequences of life.

I avoid those kind of people like the plague.

Barack Obama made the decision to continue his association with people who have been known to be (to put it kindly) “anti-American”, although he began to distance himself from Ayers a little when his ambitions for higher public office began to grow. But rather than denounce what his shady friends have done (or do), he either says he didn’t really know them (his claim in the NH debate that he only knew Rezko from 5 hours of legal work with his law firm will come back in the GE, count on it), lies about his associations, or claims he didn’t know.

By his known associations, he is unfit to be POTUS. And if he TRULY didn’t know who Ayers, Dohrn, Rezko, Auchi, and Wright are, and what they stood for, then he is unqualified by reason of stupidity.

          • John

You really don’t get it, do you? It DOESNT MATTER how substantive the connection between Obama and Ayers is. It WILL BE USED AS AN ISSUE and all the explaining in the world won’t save Obama.

“Lets have a closer look at some of Hillary and Bill and Chelsea’s friends and acquaintances..where to begin?”

Are you kidding? Where the hell have you been for the last sixteen years? What could we possibly not already know about the Clintons?

Hillary is a fighter. Whatever is thrown at her, she’ll come back with both barrels. Obama will whine and obfuscate and LIE while his minions at Air America Radio will do him no favors by talking about the charges endlessly.

But go ahead, Democrats, nominate Obama. By September there won’t be a dozen Democratic candidates in the country willing to share a stage with him.

I would say these are mean Times, not only all over the world, but here in America, we have been attacked, Our Institutiona and people destoryed, killed and maimed and a horrible war in Iraq that we now get instant news about..

Economic Problems..They are not going away..

Simply, without good character, there is NO FOUNDATION on which to build anything else.

Larry, there was a report today in the Chicago Trib saying to look for “Broadway Baby” http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/chi-kass-23-apr23,1,4967065.column about Dohrn while working there in 1979 in NYC stealing and providing false Identification to the Brink’s armour car people!

What is really interesting also is the coincidence that Obama applying at Occidental to transfer to Columbia a few months after Ayers and Dohrn turn themselves in in NYC!

Too many coincidences in this circle!

    • Kourian

Mebbe. Or mebbe tin foil hat time. But there is the mystery why Barry would choose Chicago after crisscrossing across the US from Occidental to Columbia. He had zip connections there. It’s like he pulled it out of a hat.

      • mel

not if he met ayers and dohrn in NYC, dohrn was working for the a lawfirm in NYC from 84 to 87, then transfer to the same lawfirm in Chicago in 87 that Barry interned at in 88 before going to harvard and where he met michelle at. was it dohrn who got obama the internship

also read today obama is the first president of the law review who never wrote an article for it prior to becoming its President! Certainly seems to be a pattern there with the guy too!

        • Kourian

OMG. It would be so good if you could dig deeper and publish. At least I want to see what’s going on there. The thing about never writing for the HLR – I’d heard that before. Heard he never even ‘edited’ an article. Dunno. But that sends a real chill up my spine.

          • may not have to leave the party

incredible. you mean he got out of doing any work? (why is this not surprising?)

i did law review. the first year you have to do lots of work, AND write an article, then the second year more a management thing (at least at my school). did he skip the first year?

this guy always manages to skip work, then get credit/titles.

I disassociated myself with him after that. I felt very strongly the war was not just and has immoral.

I have said this before and I am saying it again. Some of the more vocal supporters of the MEDIA PHENOMENON that WAS Obama do NOT really like him (as he thinks they do). In fact, a number of these PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS play dumb about recent American history (like the disastrous candidacies of McGovern and Dukakis) in order to further their own selfish agendas.

They are all united by a collective HOPE to put away an ambitious, first-term US Senator with no solid record of accomplishment (besides his unique ability to bluff) for good – while APPEARING to be good ol’ Democrats who champion minority rights.

But what about gender diversity, CLAIRE MCCASKILL? Had I known that you were one of those women who were contemptuous of the success of sisters, I would not have supported you in 2006. The people of Missouri will deal with you in due time.

And yes, DAVID AXELROD, isn’t the Democratic Party, the party of the lunch bucket crowd? Or are they DISPENSABLE (and their support NEGLIGIBLE) since they will never become as generous donors as those millionaires in San Francisco and Wall Street?

Somehow I feel a lot of sympathy for BILL RICHARDSON, who must be terribly pained to see a leaner and more tanned version of himself (as a bi-racial man of immense ambition) receiving obsequious treatment by the media (well until last week). “What does he have that I don’t?” I had served this country well a few times, most prominently as the Energy Secretary and UN Ambassador of the other Clinton – while this other guy was praying with Wright and hanging out with Rezko and Ayers. Not fair!

So. . . Hillary supports Farakhan?!?!?

What about Peter Paul, Hsu, and the myriad other fundraisers for the Clintons who have been convicted of Federal crimes? What about Pres. Clinton’s pardons of Marc Rich and members of the Weather Underground?!?!?

Clearly, Clinton supporters are reaching for ANYTHING as they blindly ignore their own candidates’ questionable connections (which are far stronger)

This is tactically very dumb of the Republicans. They know they should let the Dems commit suicide by holding their fire until later. Secretly and rightly they fear a Clinton candidacy, and why they would help her at this stage is beyond me.

    • JoeySky

they are betting that DEM will be stuck with Obama in the presidential ticket. In order to unit the party, DNC might go with Clinton/Obama ticket or vise versa.

Even if he’s out of the presidential ticket, he will still be the liability of those who are running for re-election and endorsed him. GOP is using it to attack the down ticket of DEM party.

    • ned bulous

Actually, Bob, the Republicans WANT to run against Hillary! They are TRYING to knock Obama out, so that their ‘best fundraising tool’ and ‘the one thing that unites the Republican party’ (BOTH of which they’ve called Hillary Clinton) is the Dem nominee!

Why do you think the RNC has released a list of reasons that Hilary is a stronger candidate than Obama? Why has Karl Rove been talking up Hillary and trashing Obama? Furthermore, why is Scathe and Faux News promoting Hillary? Do you HONESTLY think the RNC, Rove, Scathe, and FauxNews will endorse Clinton in the GE?!?!?!?!?

Those would be the people that aren’t voting for Obama, right?

Is that the unity pitch, or is that the new new version of the excuse to the crowd in San Francisco why the money they spent in Pennsylvania went down the toilet?

Let me tell you, if Barack were my stock broker, he’d be looking for a new account!

          • ned bulous

No, that would be the Clinton supporters who say they would not vote for a black candidate (as high as 15%), the older Clinton supporters who say ‘race is an issue’ and that they won’t vote for Obama, etc. . .

Look, even Clinton has said that she’s ‘honored to be here’ with Obama! If Obama is the nominee, the Clintons will strongly support him. . .

So why would Clinton supporters not support Obama if she herself will? Why would they rather have an anti-choice, pro-war, pro-Bush tax cuts, anti-health care, etc President?!?!?

            • beebop

But you have no similar issues with the Obama supporters who have called her a fucking whore and impugned every woman supporter?

28% of Obama’s supporters say they won’t vote for her … so, what are they? Republicans?

Don’t come here with half an argument and not expect the rest of it.

              • ned bulous

I agree- this animosity has GOT to stop! If Hillary wins the nomination- I will GLADLY vote for her over McCain! I don’t like the way her campaign has been run (especially by folks like Mark Penn), but Obama and Clinton have MUCH CLOSER stances on the issues than McCain!!!

Plus, there’s the Supreme Court to think about. . .

Really, I think they may end up on the ticket together at this point. We are caught up in the midst of a heated primary campaign, so some of those folks who say they would not vote for the other candidate are just responding emotionally. Like Huckabee/Romney/etc voters said that they would NEVER vote for McCain. . .

We need to defeat the GOP and both candidates will be working together to insure that that happens. . . just as we ALL should be!

I appreciate you very heartfelt post. I really do. I am not kidding here. The problem is I Remember. I see a pattern that I do not want to return to. It is a very dangerous path that only those who Do Not Remember do not recognize. The Children, who never Knew and those who Remember and Enjoyed are bringing us Barack Obama. If every primary were held again today, he would not prevail. He knows this. He also knows he could not win Florida or Michigan, thus his efforts to suppress that revote, well documented.

I cannot tell you how disconcerted I am about Barack Obama. I cannot support Barack Obama under any circumstances. I can see what I want to see–or I can see what is there and what I recognize from Another Time. It would be so much easier if I didn’t Remember.

My grandmother always said, Show me who your friends are and I will tell you what you are. I don’t really blame those who have been caught up in the charisma. This is so easy to do. But as someone who recognizes the collection of the subtle beneath it, I cannot go along.

I’m sorry I have to tell you this. Believe me, I wish I didn’t feel this way. But I Remember and I Recognize.

                  Be well.

Not to mention some of the crazies that support him and what they are capable of doing to make sure he gets to the top without waiting his turn …

He’s too damaged. He’s too leftist and he’s bad for this party.

                  • ned bulous

Like it or not, he WILL (in all probability) be the Dem nominee. And Sen & Pres. Clinton WILL support him (whether or not she’s on the ticket).

I’m sorry that you guys have such suspicions of him. . . the fact is that his positions are VERY CLOSE to Sen. Clinton’s and I believe he would be more effective.

I can respect your preference of Sen. CLinton- she is a very strong candidate. I do have reservations about her truthfullness and her tactics, but I WILL SUPPORT her if she is the nominee.

I do not understand, though, how you would prefer McCain and his continuation of Bush policies. And when I think of what he would do to the Supreme Court, I shudder in fear.

Please don’t get too caught in the vitriol. Make sure that you are basing your ultimate decision on the facts, not on this dangerous ‘guilt by association’ (which ALL candidates have- Clinton and McCain have some unsavory connections in their pasts, as well). . .

Let’s see why are the Republicans airing things now for, well coat-tail voting of State and Fed politicians, simply saying “See what the Democratic Party endorses in its candidates” flood gate of Republican wins in State and Federal elctions!

And Republicans will fight, with seats on the Supreme Court coming up, and a possible POTUS chosing the filling of the voids, Republicans are not going to allow the likes of Obama, who was constantly drawn to Marxist and Communist teachings and professors get his choices on the Supreme Court!

Even Bernadette Dohrn could be one of Obama’s picks to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court, as she is a lawyer and now teaching at NW.

Bill Ayers as Sec of Education

People just don’t seem to get it, Obama and his alliances need to be vetted, right down to Axelrod who conned the people of Illinois into taking a 22% increase in Electricity rates by Astroturfing for ConEd amongst other things, and the guys mother worked ona communist paper PW in the 40′s! His campaign finance chair from a collapsed Superior Bank possibly begoming Head of the Fed.

And people keep going on and on over checking out Obama fully is bad for the Party, after all, the guy felt Rumfeld was doing a great job and a great choice as Sec of Defense! And Obama claims to be of “Making the RIGHT Judgement from Day 1″

When the guy won’t tell anything but stumping the same old crap, the rest has to be figured out by the guys associations and none of them are characters of anybodies liking, especially Republicans!

      My take on things.

“The Chicago Way“…. Also called all roads lead to Chicago from Iraq.

To call it a conspiracy may sound like an overstatement. On examination by definition* that is what it is. So let’s give it a name, lets call it “The Chicago Way.” ……

There are links between the weakening of the US economy ,with high oil prices, the sub prime mess and the devaluation of the dollar.

Food prices are rising and already limited rationing is happening. Some say that panic buying is fueled by the MSM. Which could result in “panic” buying which could lead to shortages.

The media has been a guiding hand in the 2008 election. We have all seen their ill disguised bias in favor of one candidate. ***

In addition there is a move to deny gun ownership rights. The recent gun attacks in Chicago are highly suspicious,as was the closing of those four Catholic schools. The candidates records on gun control is important. Germany and the holocaust should have given us insight…

Democratic Super Delegates are attempting to disband The Electoral College was set up by the founding fathers, in the Constitution.

These so called Super Delegates have stolen Michigan and Florida’s votes. Is this an attempt to insure a Democratic win, to insure in fact the “chosen “ candidate wins?

In addition, Super Delegate, Jimmy Carter made a trip to Syria, his meeting with the leader of Hamas, should bring up questions ** Also to be asked is why would Barack Obama’s church support Hamas? Why would a former President meet with them?

Former President Carter, has given Obama his “wink “of approval. What he has also done is pass along Zbigniew Brzezinski, his former head of foreign policy. The history between Zbigniew Brzezinski and Carter needs to be examined, the reasons behind his placement with Obama questioned.

Brzezinski decided in 1976 to foment the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. This cost the lives of an estimated 1.3 million Afghans and spawned the creation of al Qaeda, the Mujahedin, the Taliban and Osama bin Laden. Not hard to see a connection, that lead to attacks on Americans and ultimately to 9/11.

The 1980 Carter Doctrine, which announced that the United States was determined to dominate the Persian Gulf against all comers, is at the root of the first Gulf War, of the present Iraq war, and of the clash with Iran which could come at any moment.

All roads lead between Chicago and Iraq lets just call it the “Chicago Way”

      Notes:

      * CONSPIRACY – 18 U.S.C. 371 makes it a separate Federal crime or offense for anyone to conspire or agree with someone else to do something which, if actually carried out, would amount to another Federal crime or offense. So, under this law, a ‘conspiracy’ is an agreement or a kind of ‘partnership’ in criminal purposes in which each member becomes the agent or partner of every other member.

A conspiracy theory usually attributes the ultimate cause of an event or chain of events (usually political, social or historical events), or the concealment of such causes from public knowledge,to a secret, and often deceptive plot by a group of powerful or influential people or organizations.

*** Also a large Chicago papers manipulation of the court system helped significantly in Obama’s state election.

**A designated terrorist organization that has the support of Obama’s church. Hamas is a direct arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, whose memo declares they will destroy America from the inside.

“It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.” Hasan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood

GOP heavyweights reportedly tried to oust Fitzgerald — chicagotribune.com
U.S. attorney allegedly targeted by Karl Rove, Bob Kjellander
By Bob Secter | Tribune reporter
    5:02 PM CDT, April 23, 2008
In a bombshell disclosure before testimony began Wednesday morning in the Antoin “Tony” Rezko trial, a federal prosecutor said a former Rezko confidant was prepared to say that another friend of Rezko was trying to pull strings with White House political director Karl Rove to fire U.S. Atty. Patrick Fitzgerald and kill his investigation into Rezko.

Assistant U.S. Atty. Carrie Hamilton said Ali Ata would testify to conversations he had with Rezko in 2004 about the power play. The Rezko investigation then was in its early stages.

Ata, a former official in the administration of Gov. Rod Blagojevich, on Tuesday pleaded guilty in connection with Rezko-related corruption, saying that Blagojevich was present in the room when Ata and Rezko discussed swapping a $25,000 campaign contribution for a job in the administration.

Before the jury was brought into the courtroom Wednesday, Hamilton told U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve that Republican National Committeeman Robert Kjellander was working with Rove “to have Fitzgerald removed.”

      http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-rezko-rove-fitzgerald-web-apr24,0,2332070.story

In the midst of a corruption trial that has provided plenty of fodder for political cynics, prosecutors alleged that political insiders in Washington and Illinois claimed to be working to choke off a criminal investigation launched by U.S. Atty. Patrick Fitzgerald.

At the trial of Antoin “Tony” Rezko, prosecutors revealed Wednesday that former Rezko confidant Ali Ata was prepared to testify that Rezko told him in November 2004 of a plan to pull strings with then- White House political director Karl Rove and have Fitzgerald fired.

Prosecutors also sought to add the testimony of another admitted schemer suggesting that two of the state’s most powerful Republican operatives wanted to take the heat off Rezko by dumping the hard-charging prosecutor.

i was listening to a political podcast about a week or so ago, which has views from the right, left and the center.

the republican on the show cited a maris poll, indicating that “it may be insignificant but” obama and mccain are running neck and neck in new york, according to the stats.

on a separate episode of the same podcast show, the same republican cited some statistics (i don’t know where he got his numbers from) that 60% of obama’s total votes -presumably nationwide- came from cook county (chicago is the major city in this county in illinois).

i don’t know how accurate these numbers are, but if there is any truth to them, it strenghtens larry’s argument of obama’s vulnerability.

nevertheless, i found this info interesting. does anyone have any thoughts or comments?
