You're just going to have to take my word for it. The evidence is, well, deleted.

Hopefully, this odd policy is no longer enforced, in which case you can read this comment, and I can read yours. :-)

I couldn’t find any other place to post this. I hope someone picks up on it, and highlights it, because it really is an indication of the “marie antoinette” atttitude of our new FASHIONISTA QUEEN, Michelle Obama.

Again: I present your reader base.

And again, I think you're better than this. You really need to take a deep breath, Larry and Susan, and ask yourselves: Why are these people here?

Portia etc writes Since you asked, I can think of one right off the top: have you seen the old movie, “Philadelphia”, with Tom Hanks?

Hmmm... usually all of my comments are deleted so I figured I'd let yours stand as the last word, Portia-- however I seem to be still here, so I'll try Larry and Susan's patience once more with a response, thus:

Fascinating.

Demme would be crushed to learn that the message you drew from his film is that everything would have been okay if the closet door had remained closed.

What he was actually trying to say is that an HIV positive person is capable of performing his job and is not a danger or threat to his coworkers.

Further, in the film, inasmuch as Andy Beckett's condition was revealed to his coworkers at his law firm by the lesions on his face, your statement could not possibly be more unrelated to the issue of electronic medical record keeping.

Look, we seem to be on wildly different pages here. You appear to be talking about some sort of public database where I can look up Rush Limbaugh's urine toxology to see if he's clean.

In the real world, Obama has committed a sum of money to encouraging hospitals to move away from paper record keeping to electronic, which is estimated to save 11 billion dollars a year.

Yes, I know, it seems like a simple and reasonable thing for a government to do.

Ask yourself: why have I allowed myself to have been misled about the purpose of this legislation?

You must decide, grasshopper.

I was amazed to read that Michelle Obama went to hand out food at a food bank. So far, so good, that's nice.

BUT SHE SHOWED UP TO HAND OUT FOOD TO THE NEEDY IN FECKING $540 Lanvin "trainers" [tennis shoes for us normal people]!!!!

That's just insulting. It shows poor judgment. It shows a wholly elitist attitude. Maybe she's eaten too much arugula, and it's clouded her brain.

Or maybe she just thinks she's "special." Who knows?

There's a poll. Most people who've taken it think what she did is offensive. What do you think?

ONE MORE TIME....

I truly fear the fact that you teach. Hopefully not logic.

1. It was a delegate race, not a vote-based race. If the shoe had been on the other foot, you'd better believe that Hillary would have leveraged her delegate lead in exactly the same way as Barack did. Moreover, those votes were, for the millionth time, from two races where Hillary, then the presumptive nominee according to the media you now so despise, was running unopposed by Barack Obama and where, in fairness, she wasn't supposed to be running. (She had agreed to participate in the punishment meted out by the DNC to Michigan and Florida for moving their primaries without authorization. It's a separate case whether or not that should have happened, but she agreed to it, then changed her mind in a pretty obvious and not very skillful or impressive bit of political gamesmanship.)

2. You're implying that caucuses don't count, somehow. Sorry, but in the rules as they were then layed out, caucus delegates counted exactly the same as primary delegates. Those were the rules, if you don't like the rules to a given game, there is no law demanding you play it. If Hillary had won a bunch of caucuses but lost more primaries than she did, don't tell me she would have just said, "Oh, well, those votes don't really count, you win, Barack!" though you clearly expect him to have done the same.

3. Simply absurd. Basically, by your logic no one from Hawaii can ever be president. And, would you make this case if Barack Obama's name and fleshtones were the same as John McCain's? I'm not one to yell "racist" at every argument made against the President, but this one really walks like the proverbial duck.

In other words, grow a brain, please.

since there are dozens if not hundreds of websites that are anti- 0bama, im curious as to just who is being polled. im a registered dem and no one has ever called to ask for my opinion. are they just polling those who already voted for him? i dont believe for a minute that 63% of americans approve of the job he is doing.but even if its true that means 37% (one third of the country) disapproves.and i think that number is growing steadily.

Crippled --
What you seem to think is whining without basis is more accurately characterized as the intelligent coming together of people who disagree with the adulation of a fraud and who, according to our Constitution, have every right to do so. If the posters here seem to get more frustrated and angrier, it is because with each passing day we see more and more to arouse our frustration and anger.

Since you asked, I can think of one right off the top: have you seen the old movie, "Philadelphia", with Tom Hanks? Then you can surely see that access to one's medical history can potentially cause catastrophic repercussions.

I personally do not want my employer to be able to check on every UTI I've ever had or the time I tried Restylane.

Wow, Annie! What a fascinating story! You can proudly say you've lived your life to the fullest instead of just killing time!

Yes, we should be coming together right now as these are hazardous times. But, where is the divisiveness originating from? You may believe it is from those of us who listen to Obama and really, really just don't get it. We don't get the adulation, we don't get the splendor and we don't see in him savior like qualities. Then there are those who are almost mesmerized by everything Obama... even mesmerized by his dog. Obama has a chance to be the greatest President of all time. All he would need to do is appreciate and respect the broad center of America. Instead he fosters an environment of partisan division. I won. Yes, we all know that by now. Obama mocks those who attempt to have a voice and to be heard. You may not like that the divide exists, and I don't either. We just disagree as to the ultimate source of that divide. This is only going to get a lot worse before it can get better I am afraid.

Yes, you can see where you are headed. Still, why are high school kids even going to want to go to college now, if it costs 25K a year and there are no good jobs for them once they graduate owing 100K? I realize education is important... just look at it practically though... is this a good investment anymore? Traditionally, yes it has been good. In the old economy it was good. In the economy Obama is building... maybe it won't pay back so well? At any rate if you don't have the $25K and can't get a loan, then 2.5K isn't doing much... unless you are going to trade school somewhere. I think we ought to be reworking college altogether. We don't need another single brick and mortar library. We should provide online government sponsored college level degrees free to anybody who wants to devote the time and effort to earn one. Anybody with Internet access can learn from anywhere at anytime. Simple. Quit supporting traditional colleges altogether.
