Walsh is one of the FEW liberal/progressive voices on the Internet that has taken on Obama, has defended Clinton time and again, and has called out the media for their sexist treatment of her, of her supporters and their treatment of her campaign.

Instead of lambasting Joan Walsh and Salon, I think you need to keep your guns focused on the really bad culprits (Slate, HuffPost, Daily Kos, for example) that could give a crap about Hillary Clinton, her campaign, or democracy – as long as they can get Obama elected and then manipulate him to meet their narrow so-called progressive agenda.

If anything, JOAN WALSH AND SALON oughta be getting some kudos and pats on the back for taking on Obama and his followers and defending Clinton!

PLEASE! Salon and Walsh don’t deserve this.

Why do the “Reverend” Wright’s loony views get the benefit of the doubt while Pat and Jerry’s observations about the root causes of 9/11 remain consigned to a rubber room?

Ah the usual double standard.

I think it’s interesting that the only people I’ve seen who are really critical of Wright are African-Americans. I couldn’t determine if they were down on Wright b/c of what he said, or because of the potential problems it could cause Obama though.

Wright’s performances are appalling. There’s really no excuse.

Wright is of the previous generation of black leaders who were largely drawn from the religious community. Martyrdom and victimhood were the currency of the original civil rights era and a few of these guys, especially the Black Liberation theologians, are still mired in that old cul-de-sac.

The only means of attack the man knows is to play up his MOPE (Most Oppressed People Ever) membership. The more modern black leaders like Obama and Cory Booker have left MOPE behind. This is why Obama can be so seductive while Wright is downright bizarre, a Yosemite Sam in a clerical collar.

He’s not really crazy, just anachronistic like those mosquitoes mired in amber from Jurassic Park.

One day this, the next day that, he must now be taking the course in W.O.R.M. talking!
