Kerry Rips MSNBC On Wright: ‘You People Need To Let Go Of This’

— Today, John Kerry officially became the 87,436th person to receive one of the three or four versions of the same Reverend Wright question MSNBC has been asking everyone it comes in contact with, including their plants and pets.

AND, it happens so often, I must say we’ve become, um, familiar with it. OBAMA WHINES:

Meredith Viera gets the big scoop on the Today show, doing the first post-repudiation interview with Barack and Michelle Obama, as they have to regroup after a series of stumbles over the last two months. Obama to some degree took responsibility for his own woes, although Michelle wanted to “move forward” instead. However, Obama let loose a glimpse of his aggrieved status when talking about how hard it is for a man with his name to run for President: [VIDEO]

    BEWARE OF THE CHARADE++++++++++++++++

    Either most of the “pundits” are stupid or they are in it. There are some prevailing questions in leading up to the “divorce” between the Rev and Sen Obama. After the painful PA lost, pundits have been saying that the Wright controversy is one of the reasons for the loss. That Sen Obama has to distance himself from the Rev to improve his poll rating among Democrats and Independents. But how??? So what happens is interesting. A week before the IN and NC primary, for UNEXPLAINED reason, the Rev resurfaces. For two days, he makes a string of appearances/speeches to defend himself and spew the same sermon he did in the pew.++++ This NOW gives Sen Obama a chance to condemn and “TOTALLY and “COMPLETELY” break his relationship from the Rev, something he failed to do in his first speech. Then Rev Wright now disappears and goes back in seclusion. Sen Obama now can put his controversial pastor behind him and have a clean break. This way, he can convince the electorate and more importantly the Superdelegates to throw their support to him. +++++++++The uneasiness in me keeps asking was it a real divorce or just a political charade???

      It is smelly. I agree. But it’s hard to believe that he’s going to get positive mileage out of all these bonus appearances. He appears so weak and victimized–not at all leadership material.

        Most people did not see Obama’s response to Wright.
        The most lasting effect of the whole situation will be the images of Wright on the pulpit. This event is exposing the weakness of Obama and the strength of Hillary. Every 10 days to 2 weeks Obama has to come out with a major statement either renouncing someone or having to explain a statement he or his campaign has made. The public is growing tried of this and when he campaigns he looks weary as opposed to Clinton who is on message and full of energy. If he doesn’t close the deal on Tuesday I don’t see how he can get the nomination before the convention.

      We’ll know, perhaps, if Wright now stays out of the spotlight. I can’t imagine that happening with the comments BO has thrown his way. But this is a very strange universe these days – you never know what will happen!

      I totally agree with your analysis. It’s very convenient that Rev. Wright did his little “act” before the National Press Club at just the right time for Obama to retract his previous positions regarding his comments. In fact, Wright did not say anything that he hasn’t said before, which Obama basically gave him a pass for in his Philadelphia speech and thereafter.

      I do not believe that this is a real divorce, just political expediency, particulary if Wright does not respond to Obama’s so-called “clean break”. If Wright remains silent until a nominee is chosen, then it will be obvious that this was just another Obama charade to bamboozle the public. Okie dokie?

    That video is creepy, titillating, true, all at the same time. This is one way to get back at the fools.

    This line works with guilt-ridden latte liberals. It again makes me angry that he does not take any responsibility for his own words/actions/associations, or simply for the person he is and his qualifications for the position he is seeking. Instead he tries to blame the voter. Stop. Don’t. Unlike latte liberals, rest of us are looking for plain-old leadership whatever the name is. What is wrong with this guy, whatever his name is?

    Good and he will suffer more and I will take vast pleasure in watching him suffer. Normally, I would not say that. But in Obama’s case he brought this upon himself because he is a power-hungry egomaniac who will stop at nothing to rise to power. His campaign of race-baiting, fear-mongering and threats of violence is despicable. It is no surprise his cult followers behave as they do with the threats and harassment we witness from them.

    Sad thing is, Obama has had ample opportunity to correct the behaviors that will lead to his downfall. His campaign has been divisive and his supporters are lunatics. I’m surprised he has not said “Now I know what Jesus went through!” I think he does think himself the “Messiah” and his supporters certainly idolize him as such. In reality, Obama is the “anti-Christ.” (I mean that in the metaphorical, of course).

    Or if you prefer, he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Or a Trojan Horse even.

    Around a month or two ago I decided I would do everything legally in my power to destroy the Obama candidacy. My spirit is not one usually thinking about destruction. I would rather create than destroy. But I have cast aside my “pacifism” (calm demeanor) and have gone to “war” (working against Obama). Our country and the world can’t afford an Obama as President. We are almost at the point of no return and have to make systemic changes or we will become extinct by our own actions and inaction. Hillary “gets this” on a profound level and will lead us towards systemic change. Obama will lead us to suicide, like the “Heaven’s Gate” cult. McCain will be treading water.

    I speak from the heart, and please excuse my harsh words. But I am outraged! I will take some time off today to regroup and come back in a more calm manner. Thanks! :)

    After reading this morning that Clinton SD supported jumped ship and is now supporting Obama I really, really needed a laugh. Thank you.

    I used to laugh when people wrote that they thought the DNC was determined to have Obama for a candidate. I ain’t laughing now. I just don’t understand why?

    If they are afraid to pi$$ off the AA vote but believe that they can pi$$ off the female vote with impunity because we’ll all come home to papa in the end; I think that is a big mistake. A big enough mistake to put McCain in the White House.

    Not saying I would vote for McCain, that will never happen. But I will NEVER vote for Obama.

    I would never vote for anyone that dissed the only successful Democratic Presidency in 40 years.

    I would never vote for anyone that is willing to put Social Security back on the table.

    I would never vote for anyone that if not a misogynist himself, allows his misogynistic surrogates to do his dirty work for him.

    I would never vote for anyone who played the race card against Bill and Hillary Clinton.

    I would never vote for anyone with attacks Hillary Clinton for voting for the war and yet has consistently voted to fund the war. Hypocrisy anyone?

    I would never vote for anyone would touts his health plan as covering everyone, when it does not, and who I do not think would fight for some form of Universal Health Care.

    I would never vote for anyone that I don’t believe would fight for every single citizens vote to be counted in a general election but would accept defeat like a good little Democratic wimp like his endorser John (gutless) Kerry.

    I held my nose and voted for Kerry against my better instincts and because I hate the Bush/Cheney administration so much, but my nose holding days are over. I will write in Hillary is she’s not on the ballot and vote for whatever down ticket Dems I think are real progressives. No Republican Lite or Blue Dogs.

    Hell what difference does it make? The Democrats couldn’t do anything when they were in the minority and they can’t do anything when they have the majority so why vote for them?

    Sorry for the long rant. I am just so disgusted with the Democratic Party this morning I am barely coherent. Sorry. :(

      There are so many things people don’t realize about Obama, his continuing use of private contractors in Irag, his team of economic advisers, his team of foreign policy advisers, his shilling for the nuclear power industry, his vote for the Cheney energy bill. All of these things are out of the main stream of the democratic party. If the msm was exposing these things his candidacy would be done along time ago.

      Hi John! It’s been a while. See you’re up to no good as usual. Last we talked it was 2004 and you were running a presidential campaign on no issues anyone remembers.

      It was you who pushed this dangerous demagogue Barry Hussein Obama into the limelight at the DNC with his ridiculously vapid speech. As you two were already good buddies as it turns out.

      You lost to W in November 2004. Some people attribute this loss to W being an incumbent. And it’s certainly difficult to beat an incumbent and in such case it’s better for the party they put up a lacklustre candidate with no real promise for such elections.

      Other people attribute your loss to election rigging on the part of your opponents.

      But what almost no one talks about is that given the dire straits your country was in already back in 2004 it would take a particularly poor candidate to lose to W. And that’s what you were.

      The US and world would have been better off if the Dems had won in 2004. They didn’t – and a lot of the blame for that has to go to you. But that wasn’t the end of your insolent interference: you also tried to make sure the 2008 candidate would be a bomb as well.

      You came very close. Now you want to tell the media – and the people of the US and the world – to ‘let go’ of the controversy surrounding your personal abortive candidate.

      Perhaps it’s time you instead let go of your candidate. For that matter: it’s probably time you let go of politics in general. You’ve burnt a lot of bridges too: you go on and on about what SDs are supposed to do but maybe you forgot? Your boy got handed his crown jewels on a platter in your state. And that means by your own rules you must vote for Hillary.

      You and Barry and Michelle and Mrs Heinz might for example take a week or two in the Caribbean and forge new plans in the private sector together. Whatever you choose to do: as long as it’s far removed from the political arena we wish you the best. But you’ve ruined things for your party for far too long.

      SO GO AWAY.

        My lasting impression of the 2004 presidential campaign is John Edwards coming out the day after the election and saying we will challange the results of Ohio we will organize and we will fight for the presidency. This is several hours after he learned Elizabeth had cancer.
        Several hours later Kerry appears and makes his concession speech and slinks away, some fighter. Everyone put alot of energy and emotion into the race and thats what we get from Kerry.

    I would like to point out that Sen. Salazar and former Gov. Romer are a) VERY POPULAR here in Co and b) neither has endorsed a candidate.

    The Obama campaign keeps (pathetically) touting Colorado as a state they can (possibly) win. If one of these two Super D’s came out for Hillary, then it would be a clear message to the rest of the super d’s that Obama is NOT electable.

      I live in COlorado, too. I don’t know where Obama won, probably the cities, because my precinct was about 90% for Hillary. Of course it snowed to beat hell on caucus day, and only a few people showed up. If Farmers and Ranchers vote Democrat at all it will be for Hillary.

      I was raised in Holly, and my parents were close friends with Roy Romer growing up.

    Well, I forced myself to watch the Today’s show video clip from the link above — they look good on camera and he especially with his hyper likability. What comes across is a self-absorbed couple smug in their well protected and well funded enclave called their campaign cheering each other on and whining how it is difficult that the some voters don’t get past his name. Would it occur to them to think that 1) maybe be it is his thin resume and questionable associations? 2) may be his weak personality and lack of tenacity? Or 3) may be just plain and simple — he is not REACHING some voters because he is not talking to them. It is all about THEM.

    Everytime I hear DNC party “leaders” (barizell,dean, etc) try to defend obama by saying the american people are tried of negative ads/campaigning I scream at the tv THIS IS WHY IN THE LAST 32 YEARS (except for clinton) DEMOCRATS HAVE NOT WIN THE PRESIDENCY! Look the america people might not like negative campaigning but they do accept it…don’t believe me ask Kerry, Dukaski, Gore and Mondale. Notice who is not on that list-Bill Clinton. The Clintons know how to win plain and simple. The currenrt crop of DNC “leaders” not so much.

    What got my attention here more than anything was John Kerry’s comment on MSNBC, of all places. “You people need to let go of this.”

    That really doesn’t seem to me to be an appropriate comment for an upstanding United States Senator to make to an independent news organization.

    Knowing the recent history of both Mr Kerry and MSNBC, what I am hearing underneath Mr Kerry’s plaintive cry is something more like, ….”Okay, I thought we had a deal. You guys were going to sell Obama and savage Clinton and we were going to take care of the campaign finances, the polling, the caucuses, and the endorsements. We had everything under control until this Wright business. So just stifle it before you ruin everything.”

    One thing Mr Kerry forgot though, is that this is the month of May, a special time in the television business with ratings and all. How can he expect MSNBC to let go of something people want to hear about right now, especially with FOX News having Hillary Part II tonight.

    Business before pleasure, Mr Kerry.

      These same people (the Great Orange Sata) who pounded on Romney and Huckabee over religion for months are now squealing because Obama has to answer questions about his beliefs.

      And this is not even about religion. It is about Obama’s judgement and character. The relationships with people Obama chose to associate himself with are certainly fair game when selecting a candidate. He did not accidentally find himself in that church. He made a conscious decision to attend that church. He did not just happen to meet Ayers. He sought him out and developed a relationship with him. Now, he wants us to believe he slept through all of those sermons and never once heard of the Weathermen in Political Science classes.

      Either he has demonstrated incredibly poor character judgement or he has something in common with those people. It doesn’t matter which. Both are bad and we have a right to know before we are stuck with him.
