Dear Senator Obama: Oprah and the ex-husband of Rev. Wright’s Wife saw the damage Wright could do. Why didn’t you? [Updates throughout]

Photobucket“Obama’s campaign has been built upon his supposed transcendent qualities and intuitive judgment,” writes former ambassador Joseph Wilson today.

The American people need a president they feel they can trust: They need a president who has shown sound — even calculating — judgment in the most basic, everyday matters. Like choosing a pastor, or leaving a pastor who preaches divisive and racist beliefs. If it had come out that Obama had left Trinity 18 years ago because he disagreed with that pastor’s “incendiary” rhetoric, people would have been impressed with his judgment, even if it was self-protective.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us“Something Wasn’t Wright”: According to a story in the new issue of Newsweek, Oprah left Wright’s Chicago Trinity church because of “Wright’s more incendiary sermons, which she knew had the power to damage her standing as America’s favorite daytime talk-show host.”

So why didn’t Barack Obama leave the church for the same reason? Why not leave to protect his all-consuming political aspirations? And might this be part of the reason we haven’t seen much of Oprah in support of Barack? That she was able to make the cold but rational decision to leave the church because it would harm her career. Oprah used what my mother used to call “good old-fashioned common sense.” Obama did not.

And how could Obama attend the church of a pastor who “stole the wife of a parishioner – after the man sought Wright’s help in saving his troubled marriage,” according to today’s front-page story in the New York Post, “BARACK’S REV. ‘STOLE A WIFE’: EX-HUBBY: HE COUNSELED US, THEN WED HER.”

And why didn’t Obama object to Rev. Wright’s attack — from the pulpit against another minister who criticized Wright’s questionable marital counseling methods? The incident happened in 2003, before Obama was in the Senate, and still living in Chicago, a strong indicator that, even if he wasn’t in church that day, he heard about Wright’s attack. The minister Derrick Mosley reports that “[Wright] ranted and raved from the pulpit. He got up and announced, ‘If Derrick Mosley is in the building, I want you all to arrest him.’ ” Why was Wright angry? Derrick Mosley dared to state the “‘unwritten rule’ that pastors don’t counsel married couples separately” — as Wright did with his future wife and her then-husband.

Why didn’t these stories — which Obama surely had to hear about while attending the church for 20 years, either in person or from fellow parishioners — sufficiently bother Barack Obama that he’d leave the church? And why would Barack and Michelle Obama seek counseling for their marriage from Rev. Wright? Or seek him out to baptize their children?

PhotobucketDelmer Reed, 59, confided to pals that he believed the minister moved in on his wife while Wright was counseling the couple at his Chicago church in the early 1980s, The Post has learned.

"That's exactly how he said it," Reed's divorce lawyer, Roosevelt Thomas, told The Post.

"It looks like Delmer might have been right," he said, because after Delmer and Ramah Reed were divorced, she got remarried – to Wright. "Either that or this was the biggest coincidence in the world."

Asked about the relationship between Wright and his ex-wife, Reed told The Post, "Oh, the things I could tell you."

Initially, he didn't believe the rumors.

"People were telling me that my extremely attractive wife was seen with the pastor," Reed said. "But I didn't believe it. I thought, 'So what?' "

Was he wrong in the end?

"Well, yeah," he said.

Asked if Wright broke up his marriage, Reed laughed, then said, "I told my kids I wouldn't say anything to hurt their stepfather, so I'm not saying anything."

But he said he's been hounded by the press and "offered money" to tell his story. …

Here’s more damning information from the second page of the article:

[Y]ears ago, Reed did express anger about the situation, said Harold Davis, who said he learned about the matter through mutual friends.

Jeremiah knew all the weaknesses of the couple, and he started focusing on the wife, her vulnerabilities, and started doing things she wanted Delmer to do – spending time with her, taking her to the movies, that sort of thing,” said Davis, who heads the Chicago branch of football great Jim Brown’s Amer-I-can youth program.

“Everybody knew Jeremiah took the man’s wife,” said Davis. “It was common knowledge.” …

This may be the most disturbing passage of the article:

Activist Derrick Mosley, a self-styled minister who has clashed with Wright, said there’s an “unwritten rule” that pastors don’t counsel married couples separately – as Wright did with Ramah Reed, he said.

In 2003, Mosley said, “I called him on the carpet about the indecorous manner in which he’d obtained his wife.”

In response, said Mosley, “he ranted and raved from the pulpit. He got up and announced, ‘If Derrick Mosley is in the building, I want you all to arrest him.’ “

Good morning! Here’s the quote that struck me from the Post article:

In 2003, Mosley said, “I called him on the carpet about the indecorous manner in which he’d obtained his wife.”

God, he has such unmitigated gall, arrogance, and lack of judgment! Hmmm, where have we seen those attitudes/character traits before…BO!

BWAHAHAHA! OH MAN I love these MANZ of GAWD! But yes, that’s it in a very large, puss ozzing nutshell. It’s about obamalamadingdongs “judgement” ain’t it. Let’s look at his “judgement” shall we? He ties his cart to a slimmy, rip off developer for political contributions. Would that be GOOD judgement or BAD? He befriends an unreptent dommestic terrorist/accessery to MURDER and attempted murder, sits on the board of a charity for 8 years with him and accepts BIG contributions from him, is this GOOD or BAD judgement? He goes to a church where for 20 YEARS he sitts and listens to “sermons” full of racist hate, hate for America and homophobic, xenophobic, misogynistic crap delivered by an adulterus scumbag of a hoodwinkin, bambooalin, moneygrubbin huckster. Was this good judgement or BAD judgement? If you have any problem figuring the answer out you have sipped a few to many times at the obamalamadingdong well of ever replenishing koolaide. You have to be a total burnout OBAMAZOID to think this clown should even be able to empty the TRASH cans at the White House, let alone LIVE there.

Yes, it should read: “…the ex-husband of Rev. Wright’s wife…”.

Susan, perhaps it should be corrected so that the Obamaphiles don’t start accusing you of claiming Rev. Wright was once in a same-sex marriage!

I had to turn it off, I couldn’t stomach watching him do his usual pack of lies!

Did Russert ask Obama if his kids were at TUCC this morning?

You’re a better person than I am to even watch that garbage.

Oprah has taken in billions of dollars on the backs of women, many of which are “typical white people.”

She has betrayed the nation and women in particular, not so much for campaigning for Obama, but remaining silent now that the world knows Der Fuhrer Obama is a race-divider for power, self-aggrandizement and material gains.

Oprah is a disgrace of a human being. Dividing peoples in words (threats of riots) is a step towards desensitizing people to think of “us and them.” The steps that could follow are frightening even to contemplate! Suffice it to say Oprah should look at the Third Reich for her history lesson of what happens when groups of people are targeted for scapegoating. People should hold Obama and his enabler Oprah equally responsible for what they are putting the nation through at this time.

If she does not publicly renounce Obama soon “in no uncertain terms” as Obama would say, she should expect to be written off in the history books as an enabler of Obama who used racism and fear of insurrection (race riots) — and anointer of John McCain as president — although the anointing part could change very soon as Hillary kicks butt in the remaining primaries and we see mass defections away from “The [wolf in sheep's clothing evil] One.”

Fuck you Oprah and Obama: we won’t willingly allow you a “Fourth Reich.”

George trying to nail Hill on nuke’s actually feeds into her ideas, simply because they make sense no matter how you look at it!

  • beebop

What was so interesting after the ABC debate that caused so much consternation among the obambrats was the number of them who blocked ABC and/or vowed not to watch. Since ABC is where her bread is buttered, that further erodes her support.

People’s principles have a tendency to erode when the mighty dollar raises its head. Only people like Bill Ayers with inherited wealth can hold onto their core beliefs. Nice to be a rich kid who can throw a bomb and run and know that the consequences don’t blow back on you cuz daddy has tons of money and great connections to the people you call “pigs.”

    I totally agree.

In my life I’ve had opportunities for advancement and have repeatedly refused out of principle. When I leave this Earth, one of the things I take with me is my beliefs, and more important how I stuck with them even when carrots on strings were put before me.

He got it — they are generally expected to vote how they’ve said they will at least on the first ballot. After that, they must have the freedom to change their votes or else, if subsequent ballots are required, it would just go into perpetuity as everyone kept voting exactly the same way over and over.

Probably financial ties to extremist Islamic organizations. That would be the sort of thing that GOP would sniff out.

I don’t think it’s going to be related to reparations; that’s a much subtler issue that opens the door to all sorts of dialogue and hard thinking. Honestly, grey areas aren’t the GOP’s strong suit. They’ll nail him with something that cannot be misinterpreted or softened. Financial support of extremist Islamic organizations.

    Wellllllll…

Nobody really TAKES a wife or STEALS a wife. Women are people – not possessions.

Sure, Wright was a jerk for interfering in a marraige where he should have been helping and counseling, but this is NOT a story about two alpha males fighting over a piece of meat. It’s a story that involves another person – the wife. If she didn’t want to be with Wright, she wouldn’t have. I assume women still have free will in the GD Amerikka?

Wright’s character however is surely a reflection of Obambi’s suckie judgement. It’s also more evidence that the Wright Obambi saw on the clips shown ad nauseum on Hannity did NOT in fact show a side of Wright that Obambi had never seen. Wright has been a winger and he has preached divisive politics…er.. uh.. I mean sermons for decades. Obambi sat there for 20 years without batting an eye yet now wants us to believe that he’s just seeing this side?

This bit of info about Wright’s serious breach of ministerial ethics does not surprise me. But isn’t anyone worried that people will just throw up the Catholic Church priest pedophile scandals as reason that no parishioner has control over their church pastors and priests and that they shouldn’t be tied to them.

For me it goes back to the issue of judgement with Obama. Just like Oprah was smart enough to cut her ties because of fear regarding her reputation and career, shouldn’t Obama have been smart enough to do the same? And shouldn’t we hold him accountable on his judgement since judgement is an essential characteristic voters are looking for in a president? And didn’t he bring it up in the first place?

Personally, I can’t imagine the Republs using this soap opera in the fall. Obama has to be nailed down on what are his core beliefs and how they differ from Wright, radical left thinking, and Black Liberation theology.

Certainly, this new info is salacious, but will it undermine Obama or just cause people to sympathize with Obama ultimately?

This tort has been abolished in 42 states for the very reason that it is outdated. Additionally, even in cases where the tort exists, it does not imply that people are “stolen.” People cannot be stolen. Women are people. Wright is guilty of unethical behavior (given his position of Pastor) but he didn’t “steal” anyone’s wife. Wives – women – are not possessions. They are people with free will.

Bad choice of words for the New York Post. And a bad perspective – treating a “wife” as if she is some inanimate object. But of course, this is something we’ve come to expect from the media…

when He compared Israel to South Africa

    I was unaware of that.

And I wholeheartedly disagree with your assessment of senility (whether meant physically or metaphorically) and here is why:

It could be Carter wants to be perceived as neutral in the Israeli and Palestinian conflict — people might think he is anti-Isreal in stating what you attribute to him. But the Palestinians would have an opposite view. The end result being Carter can be a facilitator towards peace or putting out some of the constant brush fires between the Israelis and Palestinians. He is a man of deep religious faith and wants to save lives. I believe the tenet of his faith is “Blessed are the peacemakers.” And its not my faith but I agree with that sentiment.

That being said, in our right leaning pro-Israeli country, Carter has committed political suicide. But I truly admire him for wanting to prevent needless suffering.

Yes, Carter is bad politically for Obama. That’s great for Hillary, but Carter is following his heart and convictions.

I think when Carter said he had not endorsed Obama but his entire family had, he was trying to endorse Obama without hurting him in the process, for the aforementioned reasons above.

By the way I deeply respect the feelings people have on both sides of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict. Clearly, we need a solution to it.

Not surprising especially when you consider that Obama’s white supporters are yuppies, dinks or wealthy(such as Hanks).

Basically elements of white upper class. These are also people who either approve of what Wright says or just don’t care. Nor do they care about Auchi or any of Obama’s ties certain middle-eastern thugs.

Let us not forget Louis Farahkan — a deciple of Malcolm X and a rabid anti-semite. Wright won’t attack his pal Farahkan and neither will Obama. Then there is Auchi — and oh so many more. However, Obama said today on MTP that Hillary will leave the race when she realizes that he has more delegates and that its hopeless for her to continue. i haven’t cared for oprah for years. all this oprah bull left me saying wth! why? i don’t see any there there. she is likeable and talented to a point, but she isn’t all that and never was. trying to get people to read is laudable of course. i think all the fuax ego worship went to her head also. she now comes off to me as an arrogant twit who isn’t near what her ego tells her she is. you know people who remove their ego and want to do good for goodness’s sake do it without letting it be known. that school in africa is a joke. she could have spent that money in a much better method by enabling existing schools to teach even more students. duh!

i watched a video with her dissing the typical white women who support her for taking her to task early in the campaign. her response was a very ugly “i am a free black woman”. oprah that is already a known fact. but thanks for telling us how you really feel about us you self centered semi talented ego driven broad.

One point I think worth mentioning is when the Catholic priest scandal is brought up to counter Wright’s insanity, is to mention that priests did not rant and rave from the altar about the virtues of pediphilia. This behavior of the priests was done in secret and the scandal was the heirarchy keeping it quiet and not dismissing the priests involved and distancing themselves from this behavior. Wright ranted from the pulpit extoling the virtues of his nutty theology. Barack was like the heirarchy of the Catholic church and looked the other way and continued to fund the church and the behavior of this guy. If anything Barack was like the Heirarchy of the Catholic church by looking the other way he was giving his tacit approval of Wright’s behavior.

AA’s are right about the justice system. Ayers was allowed to skate because he had money and power. If an AA had done the bombing he would be warming an electric chair. This is what bothers me about Obama — that he could befriend a man who would bomb this nation — but I guess the only color Obama really recognizes is green and Ayers has plenty of that.

it was more than that. obama already had angry feelings and possible dislike of white americans in my view. take a look at his early mentor, an aa socialist poet from chicago who moved to hawaii when obama was young. in his book he simply referred to him by his first name. all his life obama sought out angry mentors, wife, and now that anger shows with his dissing typical white people and the bitters don’t you know.

It would be nice to be a latte drinking liberal and know that I could make the worst choice in a president and it would not effect my life. Most of us are captives to who’s ever in office and their policies. It would be nice if Mr. Hanks, Sarandon/Robbins and the other libs, who tell us its TIME did something else to assuage their own guilt about race and allow the rest of us to go for the candidate who would best fix our economy. These Hollywood liberals sleep well believing they think only good thoughts. While so many Americans go to bed worried about how they are going to pay their mortgage.

To sell his book Jimmy Carter compared Israel to South Africa. He said Israel practices APARTEID on Palestinians.
It was provocative and frankly I think hints at SENILITY.
Why because it was non-sensical. Hamas is lobbing missles over into Israel. The Palestinians refuse to negotiate because they want Jerusalem as the Capital which is geographically stupid and ideologically wrong. Israel pumps millions of dollars into the Palestinian state. They are surrounded by countries who have stated intentions to destroy them. We are both the geo-political ally of Israel and the Ideaological ally of Israel. Jimmy Carter is wrong.
Frankly I think his latest behavior exposes a strain of historical anti-semiticism…Not unknown in GOOD CHRISTIANS his age from the Ol’ South….
He has behaved as a contradictory fool and proven his irrelevance…..He is out of touch.

talktruth — First of all parties used to vet the candidates before they were allowed to run. There were no primaries and the nominee was chosen at the convention. Sometimes it would take 2, 3 or 4 ballots to do so but it was a better system than we have now. There was alot of dialog at the conventions some of it bitter in those smoke filled rooms where the horse trading went on but when it was over we had the strongest candidate. Wonder if there is a corrolation between how many Democratic Presidents we have elected since we installed the primary system as opposed to the old way. My guess would be less. The way the game is played today — money talks and bull chit walks.

I like the line by Gingrich — Democrats sing together at their conventions and then proceed to go over a cliff.

Oh, that’s right, he said he will have advisors to do that for him. And others to organize him. Oh, but he’s not so good at hiring decisions. Like those pesky Supreme Court Judges and Cabinet members.

So tell me again, why is anyone voting for him?
Oh, change, right. And hope. And diversity.

A 10,000 sq. ft. house and a 10 Million line of credit for this pastor? — the Repubs will follow the money to its dirty conclusion. Why hasn’t Hillary done this? The problem with our party is that we would rather die than not be politically correct. Whoever put up Obama figured that out.

  • workingclass artist

Correct observations both of you. The RCC has paid a heavy price.
The Pope addressed this issue in his latest visit. We are working on it and have changed radically the role of the secular in both the churches and the schools. This stain on the RCC will last a long time as well it should as long as it helps our church change for the better. Here is another way to look at it. Wright invented his own religion so in essence there is no higher denominational authority.
He is literally the Pope of his church…..This is why even the Baptists would not have this man and give him a congregation.
In the RCC even the Bishops have to answer to the Top Bishop which is the Pope.

  • s. hall

Why are Democrats voting for Obama — because its time (whatever that means). Is it time to put in a novice who talks hopey/changey but who is clueless about the real issues facing this country? Is it time to pit Americans against one another and further weaken a nation already on the ropes? Is it time to give this country to a novice who thinks that he can conger up a Foreign Policy out of his ass? Once again Democrats were banboozled by a loser and once again we will get another Republican President to further dismantle what is left of our social safety net. Why BECAUSE ITS TIME.

Howard Dean is so proud of the Caucuses. He would like every state to have Caucuses. It costs the states nothing to run an election because the candidates have their volunteers run the thing — so what if they lose the voter lists or its general chaos, its cheap and with the crossovers — the worst candidate with the largest war chest wins.

I just watched the video with Buchanon. He and Scarborough were terrific. However, they say that its too late for this great candidate Hillary Clinton to beat Obama, even though she would beat McCain. I have to disagree, its not too late. The American people are engaged and they get it. If the media would start telling everything they know about a man who seems to only be comfortable with people who hate this country–he would be toast.

Or the other senario — the undecided SD’s realize that Obama cannot win either because something new breaks or just because polls show the American people have turned against him. Would there be violence–God I hope not but it should not be the determining factor. If the SD’s are cowed into going with Obama because of threatened violence then they have sold out our country and its 300 million people because they rather lose than confront the loser.

  • The Gringo’s Wife

You made such great points S. Hall.

I think it is hard for many of us to comprehend the anger that sits just below the surface for many African Americans who lived thought the indignities of segregation and the times of ugly and open racism.

And identified with in Obama. I recognized he was pushing those buttons early. Assholerod had that game plan going very early on. Not sure if you read her “massa” routine with her BFF on her satellite show. I have no doubt that at her level of money and fame she gets to see some serious institutional racism going down. Which of course always leads me to ponder why she has labeled African “Americans” too ungrateful for her to spend her money and energy on like… I dunno… building a school in a poor black town in Memphis maybe? How about the Appalachians… oops.. won’t do… they are white… (anyone know what the rate of kids going to bed whiteout dinner tonight is? Go check it out.)

But please don’t lump Oprah into the general AA community. She is no such thing. When human beings become celebrities and mega-billionaires, no matter how hard they try, they cease to be connected. Money and fame warps the perspective of even the healthiest of minds.

And Oprah is, of all the most, a star gazer. If you doubt or question it, you have not watched her in the presence of one of her favorite bands or people. How can anyone be so superficial and come off so deep?

    Welcome to Oprah-wood!!
    (say goodbye to Obama-wood)

  • s. hall

Gringo’s wife — well said. I agree when you become a celebrity you can afford to just pay lip service to the rest of us.

Perhaps if Obama had denounced Wright but delved into the issues that Wright spoke about in order to find solutions–we wouldn’t have this empty feeling about him — but what he did was use this segment of our population for his own benefit. He stirred up this caldron and now he wants to leave it to boil over. I pray that the AA population sees this for what it is.

And Samantha Power said he would not be held to policy he “crafted as a presidential candidate or as a US senator.”

  • s. hall

Working Class Artist — Black Liberation Theology is the deal breaker for Obama. He states that he agrees with Wright on this issue in his book Dreams Of My Father. When is the media going to ask Obama about this? Hannity did a program on this a couple of days ago. Most Americans have no clue what this is all about but we have already heard statements like — Obama thinks we have too many elections and that it confuses people.

This is Obama’s Waterloo if the media pushes it. I fear that if Obama is the nominee that McCain is not strong enough to beat Obama back. After all Obama has all this money. The Clinton’s are in this race because they know something about Obama that would hurt this country — I believe that his stand on Black Liberation Theology is the reason.

Isn’t it odd that he complains so about Hillary being stuck in the combative 60′s and yet its Obama who has connected himself to the 60′s radicals.

I don’t think they meant steal as if he ran in, bopped her on the head and dragged her back to the cave. If he used information obtained in counseling sessions in his pursuit of her affections, there should be consequences. For another example, an attorney representing Mr. A in a divorce action, later married the former Mrs. A, thus enlightening Mr. A why such a piss-poor job was done by his attorney in negotiating the property settlement. It’s the fiduciary duty that someone was discussing here the other day in the context of Howard Dean’s leading the party off the cliff by favoring the unelectable candidate instead of doing what’s good for the party.

To sell his book Jimmy Carter compared Israel to South Africa. He said Israel practices APARTEID on Palestinians.
It was provocative and frankly I think hints at SENILITY.
    Why because it was non-sensical.

We totally disagree. I don’t agree on you attaching profit motive and my point was President Carter is trying to save as many lives as possible on both sides — those are his principles and you should disagree with his principles if that is how you feel. Saying “the man is goin [sic] senile” as a reason to prove your political position is of course your right but expect someone to challenge you on it as I have. And his legacy is his, not ours. You can frame his legacy any way you wish but as it stands now, I understand why he is doing what he is doing. And I have deep respect and admiration for at least someone on this planet standing up without waffling on what he believes, and having the stones of his convictions to make a difference as he deems fit.

Don’t forget that Thomas Jefferson was once a “terrorist.” It is something to keep in the back of your mind when considering those who feel oppressed and what they do in reaction to it. And if they don’t fight back they feel nothing will change and they have nothing to bargain with to achieve their political goals.

Mind you, I am not trying to justify violent uprising, just trying to understand the “big picture.” (Not saying you said this but) “Hamas are terrorists” could be argued but that opinion is a narrow view and will not lead to long lasting peace and stability in the Middle-East. I understand a lot of the anti-Palestinian sentiment but I think folks should at least try to imagine wearing the shoes of peoples who feel oppressed. Have you ever lived walled in somewhere with no nation of your own? I sure as hell have not.

I take no position in the Israeli and Palestinian conflict other than urging a solution be found and implemented.

Given Bush’s belief in fairy tales, and the idea one or two elections would bring stability to the middle east, which was just the type of thinking that would come from a stupid neocon who thinks Iraq is a “slam dunk,” I think we might actually be seeing the start of something.(JUST the start, MAYBE)…

Figuring, given books like “confession of an economic hitman,” and others, the CIA, or whomever, could bring down a government fairly easily, (and I’m sure we don’t know the half), they probably can build democracy too, it’s just far far more complex than anyone can predict, and it involves free choice, which means uncertainty.

And my goodness, look at what they’re fighting…

I don’t think they’ve ever built a real democracy have they? (and I thought the space station was hard…)

It will take years, and years, I don’t know, just thought I saw something…

Was the old USSR involved in nurturing the terrorist groups in the middle east, btw, is that a strong influence on the thinking of some of the players, not only terrorists, but leaders, also?

I see actual connections between people like Wright, Farrakhan, and Hamas, Qaddafi, and I wonder what the Marxist tilt is, in the greater middle east? And given many of the leaders were educated at Harvard, lol…

It’s that sentiment I am trying to get across — and whatever Jefferson was called back then I don’t actually know, so if which is why I put the term in quotes. Obama has always chosen Green (money). He chose to live with his rich grandparents and he chose to go to the elite Punahoe (more green). Mommy was off living in a poor country — and he didn’t want any of that.

He wants an easy life with lots of money — for some reason Obama seems to believe that winning the white house would mean an endless supply of “green”.

He stayed in that church because it was the “in” church and gave him blackness. He wasn’t raised black — he was raised rich — in Hawaii. He really didn’t have “black” credentials. The Obamabots will scream “racist” at that remark — but it is the truth.

When someone becomes part of the mega-rich — the color of their skin no longer matters. Rather it is the color of their money that counts.

The interesting part about the history of Hamas is that Israel was involved in the support of Hamas as a counter force to the PLO.

There is no way that I would ever support any of these Chauvinistic, misogynistic, terroristic organizations — but when I wanted to learn about their history in order to figure out their current behavior I stumbled on the fact that at one time Hamas was supported by Israel. Hamas was thought by Israel to be a counter force to the horrible PLO.

Another piece of information — Hezbollah evolved in large part because of Israel’s long term occupation of Lebanon.

So two of Israel’s worst enemies exist due to bumbling by Israel.

I was raised to have blind, unquestioning support for “God’s” chosen people/Nation, Israel. But now that I am able to look at the history of an area and use my own critical thinking ability — I believe the US needs an evenhanded – adult approach to the Middle East. Leave religion out — and find a way for the people of the region to LIVE together.

Obviously Israel doesn’t always make the best decisions — two of Israel’s errors in judgment are trying to eradicate them.

re Hamas. I am 100% against that pathetic Obama, but fair is fair. Hamas won a democratic election much to the shock of Condi, who set it up. They are the elected governing party in Palestine.

I believe we will never have peace in the world until Israel and Palestine come to FAIR terms and learn to live together. King Hussein of Jordan gave up the West Bank so the Palestinians could have a homeland and they’re still in refugee camps while the West Bank is a glamorous settlement for Israelis. Have a heart here. (I am not excusing terrorism, just saying we should imagine the lives these refugees have lived for far too long before damning them.)

i turn her off faster than dr phil and that is saying something.

well, it seems oprah sees their color. go and google some of her comments about them. i was shocked. what gifts ophrah might have are now squandered. you can’t put humpty dumpty back together. sure she’ll be on tv awhile and will make some more money. but her days as the icon are over.

  • stodghie

the israeli press is also far more critical of their government than the pathetic suckups we have here.

i agree and in my humble opinion michelle is even more of a believer than barrack.

I could jam all day… We don’t need no stinkin’ notes on a page… :)

Obama and the Orange Marmalades are playing tonight…you will have to get tickets from his scalpers because he can sell ‘em at the window, they aren’t legite.

    Gay?

So is Reverand Wright going to marry a gay couple in his church?

  • http://Whosturnisit? TeakWoodKite

I always understood karma to be the guy at the window when cashing out at the casino of life.

He takes your chips and instead of returning dollars, he will give you an upgraded comp for the next visit.

Trying to cash out chips that were played at the lier’s craps table are non redeemable, as is the person attempting to exchange them.

Tough choice. Came to the plain of existence neckid an’ I’m gona leave the same way, if not somewhat over weight.

In Rock Paper Scissors don’t principles trump words?

Do highly successful blacks like Obama and his wife assuage their guilt that so many others have been left behind by indulging in radical chic with people like Wright?
