Pakistan just waged a full out assault on the Taliban yesterday with rockets and grenades. They are thanking <strike>Hillary</strike> USA for all the support given saying that <strike>Hillary</strike> USA is helping to <strike>take back</strike> save Pakistan from the Taliban and they will succeed. So what if Obama and Zardari are seen as weak. It's Hillary who is not weak and is making some great decisions and lending her support. Ummm...I didn't mean to say that last part too loud but we all know who is the leader don't we? The 'one' doesn't have to deal with this or anything else. His job is PR and parties. No one is fooled. When you start listening to these reports, there's something of a disconnect in all these "approaches." I listened to Hillary Clinton at the Trilateral Commission, say quite clearly that a military presence would not do the job alone. We need development and aid and cooperation. Then we find out that Holbrooke and Petreaus have yet to find a compromise of what the proper equation is. And added to that, we have these continuing drone attacks with mounting civilian casualties. Too many cooks in the kitchen often end up with a very unsatisfying result. For everyone. I’m beginning to wonder if we really have a consolidated strategy in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
