His Country Beneath His Feet, A Terrorist Holds Fast His Violent Visions (With Comment from Larry)

About Barack Obama’s longtime employer, political contributor, and fellow board member, from a blog article, “Kill the Pigs“:

Ayers once described the Weathermen as “an American Red Army” whose mission was, “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents.” In his book, “Fugitive Days,” Ayers boasts that he “participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972.” Bombing the Pentagon was particularly dreamy for Ayers, “Everything was absolutely ideal. … The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.” Osama Bin Laden could not have said it better on September 11.

From “Charming Bombers, But What of Victims?,” a letter to the editor in the Wall Street Journal, May 5, 2008:

Elizabeth Wurtzel (“Obama’s Other Radical Friends,” op-ed, May 2) can be forgiven her youthful fascination with radical bomber Bernardine Dohrn. We all have ideas at 15 that seem silly from the perspective of middle age. Barack Obama’s reported close relationship with Ms. Dohrn and Bill Ayers is much more troubling and raises legitimate questions about his judgment and maturity.

In a 33-year law-enforcement career I had occasion to arrest many charming criminals. One of the most engaging was a California radical, rapist and prison escapee associated with the Symbionese Liberation Army (remember them?) who was living in Louisiana. When, after an intensive undercover investigation, I confronted him with his true name, he stuck out his hand and said “You must have talked to them in Oakland.” Indeed I had, and what I learned was chilling. …

Here is the conclusion of “Charming Bombers, But What of Victims?,” a letter to the editor in the Wall Street Journal, May 5, 2008:

From all accounts, Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn are equally charming. That does not nullify their crimes. Placing a bomb is one of the most evil of acts because the effects of a bomb are totally indiscriminate and incredibly devastating. Just ask a young Iraq War veteran who will live the rest of his or her life minus body parts. Just ask the families of those killed by Timothy McVeigh in the Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

There is little moral difference between Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn and McVeigh. Timothy McVeigh was simply a less charming individual and a more successful bomber. He received just punishment for his crime. Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn did not.

UPDATE AND COMMENT BY LARRY JOHNSON: We are not talking “guilt by association” here. If I go to the new Washington National’s Stadium the same night that Lewis Farrakhan or David Duke attend a game, that does not mean I endorse or support their views. Accusing me of such is classic guilt by association. We just happened to occupy the same space at the same time.

But Barack Obama is not just “associated” with Bill Ayers. They have a relationship. Bill Ayers co-founded a foundation in Chicago and named Barack the Chairman. That is more than an association. It is a relationship that started in 1995 and Barack stayed in that job for eight years. Bill Ayers and his wife helped Barack plot how to oust a longstanding state Senator, Alice Palmer. That is more than just stumbling into each other at Starbucks. Bill Ayers helped raise money for Barack’s campaign. And then Barack and Bill Ayers sat together on the Woods Fund board. More threads in the fabric of their relationship.

Barack has some explaining to do. Why would he knowingly maintain a relationship with a man who continues to take pride in the bombs he planted and exploded in America? Why Barack? This ain’t guilt by association. Nope. You are guilty of lousy judgment and obfuscation. But you cannot hide from this question. Just as happened with Reverend Wright, the truth will come out. And when it does Barack’s magical balloon tour will be over. It is just a matter of time.

:::::::::::

The new color photograph of William Ayers comes from the August 1, 2001 issue of Chicago Magazine, which features a three-page article about Mr. Ayers and his life. It is well worth reading.

  • Kathryn

You said it Greg, and you said it well. It’s shameful we have a Senator who considers Ayers and Dohrn “friends” but even more astonishing to think we could have a President who associates with them.

  • Patrick Henry

Susan…By His Age you can tell that is a recent picture of William Ayers…Barack Obamas Friend and supporter…I am not sur…but I think that photo may have been taken in front of the Town house where William Ayers blew hewrself upo making another Bomb…Looks like the same area…Most everyone Senator Obama is connected to has Questionable backgrounds..Radical Theology..and tend to be Anti American..

How can Obama possibly get Clearance to the White House, Control of the Military and the Codes, the football…and all the Codes and Secrets..??

Could He ever Invite a Supporter like William Ayers to the White House…??

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

the article is dated 2001, the same year he published his book. He posed for that photo to publicize the book.

    • ginamc

Patrick Henry –This is an exceptional point about the White House, etc. etc. The Republicans are definitely going for it. Still so damn confusing why DNC and the SDs are still siding with this LOSER. Amazing.

  • Patrick Henry

    Typos…damn..I should Proof read..

“Where william Ayers Girlfriend Blew herself Up”..along with two other Terrorists…friends of Ayers…

  • Catriley

A troll here the other day went ballistic when I mentioned that Ayers and WU were not different than McVeigh… Ayers and company were just inept. The problem with inept terrorists like Ayers, is that unless they are stopped, they eventually recruit someone that can do the type of damage that McVeigh did. Frankly, the lack of major casualties from the Weather Underground’s attacks doesn’t make them any less insidious.

Obama’s connection with Ayers and Dorhn is not a casual one. He is radioactive for the Democrats in November.

And the Super Delegates are siding with Obama.. because??????……..

    • ginamc

And the Super Delegates are siding with Obama.. because??????……..

They have to be paid off. Seriously, it’s the ONLY answer I can come with to be supporter a clear LOSER — BO is “damaged goods” — it’s pathetic.

McVeigh is the FIRST person that came to my mind also. I’m a liberal Dem, proud of it. I despise being called a Republican every time that I show support, concern and love for my country. What is this? Democrats don’t love their country in ObamabotLand?–how bizarre.

    • requiemforadancer

they eventually recruit someone that can do the type of damage that McVeigh did.

You know, it’s not the bombs, I really think the intelligence is there to stop men like McVeigh, it’s the smart people, just as it always was. And I don’t mean the IT crews the world became so focused on, I mean the creative dissenters, some of whom are IT, others writers or even businesspeople, artists, musicians, a new type of thinking to develop overall strategy.

(Ironically, though I would think in the case of the US, those people are working against people like Ayers, and McVeigh, say, an American Al qaeda, lol…).

So I would look at seemingly individual terrorist bombs as more of a part of a larger strategy, NOT as singular incidents. It seems sometimes a nation faces it’s greatest threats from within.

NOT implying conspiracy, but, when studying literature, say, you also look at the historical WORLD context, the art, the music, the methods of thinking that defined any given period.

Look at the connections between Wright, for god’s sake, and Farrakhan, and Qaddafi, which reach to Pakistan, and Khan, and even dear sweet Obama. Then to Kjellander, and Rove, Libby, Rezko and the effort to have Fitzgerald fired.

You see, until recently most of us would never have thought to connect all those men, but it turns out they are related, they do international business just like Microsoft does.

      • http://Whosturnisit? TeakWoodKite

You see, until recently most of us would never have thought to connect all those men,

Even if one does connect the dots, many people I have spoken with, take leave of their critical thinking skills, choosing to ignore the storm raging outside.

The racial white noise in the echo chamber is a form of paralysis.

    • helen

He must have pictures , negatives , and kneepads aside from the money on the SDs
Noone who loves this country could support him.

    • Nellie

      Catriley,

First there were some casualties. Not only the 3 weathermen who blew themselves up, but the 3 killed in the 1981 Brinks Roberry, as well as a story about a Chicago Attorney here about 2 weeks ago, who was permenently crippled.

There was also another type of damage, They trashed places in the Chicago loop, a neighborhood at the time of integrated housing and small shops. Even then, Insurance only covered part of the damage. What about those small shop owners who had to pay from their own pockets part of the money to fix the damage? How did that effect the number of employees they could carry? How long did it take to repair the dmage, in effect shutting down businesses? As anyone knows small business owners live right on the edge – and even today 5-7 fail for every one that actually succeeds.

The lasting Damage, as shown in the WSJ Op-Ed, was that the great positive social movements on integrations, jobs, education, labor, housing that had started to really move forward were ground to a halt becuase of the violence of these idiots. From Nixon forward, the Republicans have been chipping away at real gains made, and have demonized the word “Liberal” to the point it is considered a dirty word.

Since the unrepentenet violence of these people, in effect, has caused social gains back about 30-35 years to date. One more flare up like in 68, and social gains will be pushed back to pre-FDR.

    • cc

they’re idealistic fanatics who see the world in rose colored glasses, swallow BS by the truck loads full, and arrogantly believe, just as the right wingers, that only they have the answers. for these people there is no middle ground. I lived in OKC when McVeigh bombed the Murrah building and I agree, Ayers is just as despicable. I can not stand the thought of Obama and his terrorist sympathizing funders and advisors flushing our country down the toilet. it’s one thing to see wrongs and want to make improvements, it’s another to loathe and disdain the country that gave you every imaginable privilege.

  • Salo

    what’s worse?

on the ground or under foot?

    Flag Protocol and all that…

This’ll play well when it hits the TV screen.

    • sjc-tx

When I was a child we were always taught… Never let the flag touch the ground. Never put your foot on it and ALWAYS place your hand over your heart when pledging to the flag… Always!

  • Strawberrybitch

I’m a liberal, and I know that fuck has the right to do that to the flag, but that doesn’t mean he SHOULD do it. It makes my blod boil, because all it does is piss people off and build walls. It does nothing to fix problems. Arrogant prick. God, what I wouldn’t give for three rounds, JUST THREE ROUNDS, on the sparring mat with that weasel. No gloves, no pads and kicks to the head allowed.

    • Salo

He’ll claim he was picking it up to clean it.

Smug frat boy — just playing with people. That’s what Ayers is.

Obama is the same sort of person — had no real struggles in his life — just the ones he imagined.

Your friends shape who you are — and you choose your friends.

We are a combination of genetic traits and the culture in which we were raised. Obama has focused on one tiny part of his DNA, while ignoring the rest of his cultural heritage.

    Madam President sounds GREAT!

Obama’s mother did all the struggling.

He just wants to keep cashing in on it.

and keep hating her for the white blood coursing through his veins. Obama is reprehensible.

  • amalia

    oh hell no.

god, the words of ew are as crazy
as her book, prozac nation, a chronicle
of her very messed up medicated life.

so she is not to be believed.

many who have been in a room with
BD have left uncharmed and worried
about her softball approach to juvenile
    criminals. and we’ve avoided her.

but, that tidbit about Sidley and Austin
is more fodder for the truth….that there
are more tight connections with BD
and BA than Obama would hve us believe.

like the Wright story, the Rezko story,
the Safe Neighborhoods Act, with this,
Obama lets the truth out by drips.

consult your staff Obama, and remember
your own words. it’s an error by
omission but that means it’s still
an error. you are making the same mistake
over and over….not telling the truth
until it is pulled out of you.

      Just waiting.

  • http://IthinkIfeel... Tricia

I have been reading more about this guy and his wife these last few days. Do you suppose that if Obama shows well tomorrow that there is any way to show the DNC that Obama cannot possibly win in November? The MSM may be impotent and afraid to challenge Obama, but the Republicans–whatever else you say about them–are afraid of nothing. They will run on National Security and ALL of this will come tumbling down like Niagra. I believe that very few voters will be untouched. I have never voted for a Republican for President, and McCain also has some strange friends and bad ideas, but I think I know him. Obama is a scary unknown.

    • Strawberrybitch

Tricia, love or hate McCain, he truly believes he’s doing what he thinks is best for his country. He loves this country. I honestly can’t say the same about Obama after seeing all these questionable ties like Ayers.

      • requiemforadancer

Not if he’s allowing stupid lobbyists, really no different from Axelrod, to make his decisions.

If we’re dealing with Republican trolls, here, for McCain, he’s no different from Obama.

They don’t come here for legitimate discussion, they come here utilizing fifth grade propaganda techniques, Karl Rover’s crap, and all.

Where did Obama get the idea?

We will see what McCain does, but if I think Obama’s PR people are nothing more than traitors, really, given the techniques they use against the American people, well, I don’t given McCain’s a pass, for the same behavior.

Some think they’re one in the same…

        • Strawberrybitch

Huh? Me a troll? Not on your life. I’m a Clark/KOS/C&L refugee who found Larry’s website and settled in. Like I said, given the choice, I’d feel more comfortable with McCain. He’s a known known as opposed to Obama who’s the unknown known… or is that unknown unknown…

Salo…you say that Hillary is “shameless” and “vulgar”! What the hell are you referring to, she is neither–what an ignorant and defamatory statement you make.

    • http://paganpower.wordpress.com/ Pagan Power

What a foolish comment and a ridiculous article. Hillary spent ONE summer as an intern with this law firm. That was the extent of her association with it. Period.

Obama has had at least a decade close relationship with an unrepentant American terrorist. Just because the guy didn’t spend time in jail doesn’t mean he isn’t guilty. In fact he has admitted to his crimes and bragged that he got off scot free.

      • bwana

exactly right! it was only one summer! just one summer DEFENDING BLACK PANTHERS!

no worries! she’ll shrug it off!

Yeah she has their link on her official website. No…wait….

        • Salo

she’ll shrug it off. Because she has a history and biography that is far more national and well understood over the last 20 years than Obama’s local reputation. She’ll be hard to redefine. Obama is being defined right now.

          • B-Rob

she’ll shrug it off. Because she has a history and biography that is far more national and well understood over the last 20 years than Obama’s local reputation.

Yep. But that “history and biography” is exactly her problem. It is why 63% of the population polled doesn’t trust her. And let me say another thing: with Rush Limbaugh and the entire National Review set pulling for HER, there is no reason for ANYONE who cares anything about the Dem Party to actually hope she wins this!

Is this too hard to figure out? If Rush Limbaugh wants her, it is BAD for the party! Is that too hard to grasp?

                • Salo

I’m not a fan of Hillary. In many ways Obama is a superior candidate.

But he’s already lost the Meta issues that determine elections.

                    (Just like your candidate.)

Given the Chicago corruption, and the terrorist connections, you don’t see a problem?

Oh, my goodness. Do any of the Obama supporters have anything of substance to offer. I’m just a lurker, and a foreign national, so I cannot vote, however, based on my investigations, I think Ms Clinton is by far the superior candidate. What I have noticed in coming to various sites is that the supporters of her opposition have nothing to offer in terms of having read the policies of both and comparing them in an objective way. What I see are comments of the ilk I’ve quoted.
AS I don’t have a horse in this race, I will simply write:

If Ayers wants him, it is bad for the Party. Is that too hard to grasp?

              • B-Rob

You avoid the obvious question. Which is:

who has more influence in America: Rush Limbaugh or Bill Ayers?

Indeed, could you even pick Bill Ayers out of a police lineup if you had to? No, you couldn’t. And that is the point: it is a manufactured controversy, pushed by conservatives. Why? Because its all they have!

Hilarious! The Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Weekly Standard and National Review praise Hillary for what she is trying to do to Obama, and you morons take that as a compliment!

                • Salo

Rush fancies his chances with either of them.

He’s doing Operation Chaos because he wants maximum infighting among Dems until the convention.

He may even want Clinton because he wants to rant about her for four years.

With Obama v McCain he’s stuck defending McCain and a losing war for four years.

                  • requiemforadancer

                    Rush is an idiot.

Beware the “genius” wannabe, who isn’t.

My goodness, these idiots think they set others up, but they never ever stop to ask themselves how they’re being gamed.

                    Idiots, fucking idiots, all.

                • ces

The bigger question would be: How much influence WILL Ayers have if BO becomes POTUS?

And I think this is the thing most Obama supporters and the general public just don’t get: it’s the behind the scenes influence that is more important.

AIPAC, GE, KBR, PNAC….the power players aren’t the guys in the news, save Cheney and a few like him. The real power plays are done “in the pews” to the niche audience.

So like Wright, Ayers is at least not offensive to Obama, at worst these two and others like them have long been influential in defining Obama’s views and perceptions.

Forget the ‘guilty by association’ semantics that urinal cakes like Kevin like to dismiss. By having REAL associations with these detestable people, and not dissociated himself with them, he at least shows he’s not bothered by their radical ‘philosophies’. Combine that with statements he, his wife and his brother in law (no to mention many of his surrogates) have made and he you’ll start to understand why Rush has nothing on Obama’s puppeteers.

                  • requiemforadancer

But it is also what you see, it is and it isn’t.

I think many of those who supported Bush, and even Cheney, thought they could push them around, they’d be the perfect patsies for their agendas. But it didn’t quite work out that way.

The same with Obama, so many dynamics are at work, and all these would be players are just not smart enough, or skilled enough to understand, or even fish out the greater dynamic, so to speak.

It’s funny , to me, to see men so incompetent, not understanding how untalented they are, how others mock them, set them up, preen as if they’re simply untouchable, Miss Thing, and all.

                    Time, after, time, after time.

And they keep losing, but they don’t know why, sort of like the song “Baltimore,” by Randy Newman

                    the city’s dying,
                    and they don’t know why

Like Sisyphus, and the rock — the problem is they’re not smart enough, systems of fascism never work, and they don’t understand that simple premise.

Critical thinking, apparently a Harvard education can’t buy it.

              • requiemforadancer

What I have noticed in coming to various sites is that the supporters of her opposition have nothing to offer in terms of having read the policies of both and comparing them in an objective way.

Funny, as “close” as you say they were, I have yet to see a single picture of them together, any reference that they went out as couples, no stories of Obama and Ayers knocking back beers on a Friday night . . . nothing. You Hill-bots are playing the same b.s. games as the cons, creating a relationship (and dirt) where there is none. Why? Because Obama, simply doesn’t have the skeletons in his closet that the Warrior Queen of Tuzlah has. So you make shit up.

well, it’s not like they are a couple….
is that your measure of closeness? a picture?
          how old are you?
          ……….

          • B-Rob

You don’t get it do you? From where do you get that they are “close”? Has Obama said that? Ayers? No. You get it from friggin Sean Hannity and repeat that b.s. as if it is fact! THAT is what i don’t get about you Hill-bots: why are you doing the conservatives’ bidding? Isn’t it obvious that THEY WANT HILLARY TO WIN the nomination? And you you think that is because they LIKE the Dem Party? Or because they thik they have a better chance of beating her?

Here is a hint: how many anti-Hillary ads have they been running? Zero. Obama, on the other hand, is a target. Isn’t this obvious? Don’t you people watch “Survivor”? You gang up and knock out the strong, because you think you can beat the rest. That is exactly what is happening to Obama . . . and you morons are funding it, too! What a bunch of dupes!

            • beebop

You don’t have to worry about us. It’s the guys whose candidate was a Viet Nam war hero who will probably make a huge freaking deal of this, but that’s just one woman’s opinion …

            • Salo

It’s not Obvious at all. They’d be flocking to Gravel if they were that well organized.

For heavens sake conservative commentators like Kristol and Brookes were buttering up Obama in the fall. They were doing buttering up to influence Dems to pick him at that point–because they thought he was weaker at that point. The praise Obama got from Broder Brookes Kristol and others was no more real than this.

              see it’s easy.

Can you start talking about something that makes sense?

            • Andy

              Don’t you people watch “Survivor”?

No, I usually have more important things to do.

no thanks, find a reputable journalist.

          what you can’t?

yeah, that’s what happens when you try to use trash journalists to sell your agenda, everyone knows it’s a load of shit.

Just like the latest newsweek poll, say.

My god, do they just PAY newsweek outright?

          heh…

          • bwana

right! just like the swift boaters for truth! thank god they had a reputable journalist go after kerry! otherwise, their attacks wouldn’t have worked!

            hrc! hrc! hrc!

            • Salo

I should point out that the SBVFT actually beat Kerry bloody–on similar topics that they will beat Obama bloody.

Meta issues like patriotism, loyalty, defeatism etc…Obama has more or less ceeded these issues.

Sure, the American voters bought SBVFT and they are stupid as dirt. But that means they are more than likely to buy it with Obama.

              • beebop

Obama will be a walk in the park for the Swifties. So many of his outright lies are captured on video they don’t even need to say a word … They actually had to make shit up about Kerry …

                • Salo

What they did was see the gap between Kerry’s honourable service record and his immediate transformation into an radical antiwar activist.

That sort of a transformation from Warrior into demonstrator killed Kerry in the long run. It wasn’t about faked medals or heroism. He just confused the hell out of people and gave the opening needed to bury him in lies.

he had little more appeal than Tom Hayden might have in a general election, with his protesting record.

Obama doesn’t even have the cover of previous service or previous national prominence.

                  He’s a dog’s breakfast.

A very damning look at the Ayers/Obama association. I find it so difficult to accept that Obama would believe that it is ok to associate with a monster like this. And I am flabbergasted that the DNC and the democratic establishment in general do not realize how damning this is to our Democratic party. people like Ayers and Dohrn did not believe in America. They are the enemies of America. They always were and they always will be.

In another incarnation as someone that protested against the War in Vietnam I remember the feelings of many that looked down upon our country. The Weathermen and their cohorts used the Vietnam war as an excuse to wage war against our country. Their bombs were set against any number of conceivable things that they felt were important, most of which had nothing to do with the Vietnam war. Their answer to injustice was violence. It was never a path I believed in or followed.

Bill Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist. His only saving grace was that he was not prosecuted because the FBI overstepped their legal bounds. That is the only reason he did not spend time in jail. It did not excuse what he did. In fact what he did and what he still promotes is abhorrent and no different than the type of actions promoted by Al Qeada. Bill Ayers is an enemy of our government and our democracy. Obama’s association with him demonstrates to me that he is also an enemy of the state.

  • karen for Clinton

I’m very moved by this story. I have often been a bit of a rebel. I am an environmentalist, I oppose war, stand for human rights and hold my values dear.

But I am entirely non-violent and so always found the Weathermen devisive and counter productive and way too militant to do anything constructive.

I saw them for what they were and wanted nothing to do with them, even when many thought they were somehow – illogically – cool.

Greta’s piece is relevant to Obama. Murtagh thinks so and he is as level headed and clear headed as they come.

There are times in my life I was ashamed of my country and my presidents, Nixon and Bush are low on my opinion poll. But so is Senator Obummer.

Clinton will restore my faith in my country but more than that if she is elected I will lead a happier and more worry free life. Sounds silly right?

When Bill was elected, the day of his inauguration, I clearly remember dancing in my Grandmother’s driveway in celebration with my young daughter.

When she was ready for college in 1996 we were able to write her tuition off our taxes through 2000 when she graduated.

Positive change is what we need, not just change.

I know her election would change my life and it would be a change for the better.

Good luck to Hillary in IN and NC. She won’t need luck in W Virginia – she is gonna beat his pants off!

    • morris1030

Michelle is supposed to have said, “think Camelot with a tan”.

I don’t think she’s controllable, but she is under wraps except at big events and friendly NBC interviews where Obama can rant to Robin Roberts..”Lay off my wife.” then his remark about “low class” [white working class voters] was a doozey.

Hopefully there will be some exposure of her video ranting about whitey. Also her thesis at Princeton is for the most part under wraps, and pretty revealing of whitehate.

  • typical.white.person

Obama will wear the pin when he must for votes, otherwise disdain the flagpin as gratutitous as he is not in the least patriotic. Ayers and black liberation philosopy/theology have to be understood for the anarchists they are. The immaturity and negativity involved are extremely misguided and dangerous.

They need to open their eyes to the fact what they don’t see that is going on behind closed doors is what will determine the outcome. And there is not a damn thing they can do about it.

What is wrong with Wurtzel like people? What is her point? That an atrocity regardless how ruthless may be forgiven because of the political climate (which presumably made them do it according to her). What nonsense? Every terrorist has a reason of how he/she got where they are but they are still terrorists.

A dem strategist on H&C threw her head back and laughed her pretty laugh and said she had never heard of Ayers story — maybe because it was not a big deal (her words). The problem is that she and Wurtzel like people think they know better but they are just ignorant.

Great Job on these articles. They have been linked on other sites which is why you are seeing a lot of trolls.

Ayers and Dohrn are despicable. I remember the Weathermen quite well. They terrorized people for years, threatening to blow them up and were responsible for over 30 bombings at police stations, military installations, banks, government buildings and various landmarks and corporations. The day they accidently blew up one of their bomb factories in Greenwich Village, (where 3 of them died) they were supposed to bomb a dance at Fort Dix in New Jersey. The bomb was loaded with nails in order to inflict mass casualties. They still advocate violence and said they didn’t do enough. Ayers said in 1991, “Guilty as hell, free as a bird. America is a great country”. They are proud of their record of trying to sabatoge the US government through violence and bombs.

Meanwhile Obama lauches his career through them, takes money from them, works for Ayers, gives speeches with him and serves on his Boards?? What world does he live in? The whole thing is astonishing.

Here’s a question that maybe Larry Johnson can answer…knowing what we know so far about Obama’s friends, if Obama applied for a job that required background checks and a security clearance, could he get hired…could he pass the basic background check for the CIA? Is it possible that we might have a Presidential Candidate who could not get a “Top Secret” security clearance?

Mr. Johnson, You have missed the Annenberg Challenge association of Ayers and Obama. Obama has omitted from his resume that he was the chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge for eight years. Ayers co-wrote the grant and secured a $50 million grant for this project. It cannot be that he entrusted his brain-child project to a “guy from his neighborhood”. I am assuming that this chairmanship was a paid position, but haven’t been able to find evidence of that.

Actually they were quite unrepentent, and they also served decades of their sentences, two things Ayers and Dohrn, as their LEADERs, never got around to doing–not even today.

  • secularhumanizinevoluter

Well shitferbrains, the folks President Clinton commuted the sentences of had SERVED TIME for their crimes. And just a lil bitty ol fact(I KNOW how much you obamazoids HATE those pesky facts) it was PRESIDENT W.J.CLINTON who commuted their sentences, NOT SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON! since Ayers is such a bad apple (not saying he is or isn’t)

    Hello Kevin,

    Thanks for contributing your thoughts.

Ayers is a very nice man, just some guy in Obama’s neighborhood like Mr. Rogers, darning a cardigan and wearing sneakers! That’s what I thought of about Obama’s “answer” at the chickenshit’s last debate.

Will he call in sick when he has to debate McCain? Perhaps send a cardboard cutout to the debate so he can claim being “present” like all those votes he wanted to avoid?

“Not saying he is or isn’t” because he hurts your candidate if you would agree to the truth he is a “bad apple” makes the rest of your argument(s) very weak and not credible in the least.

This is the big leagues, your candidate is blackmailing a nation with fear of rioting. This is not some video game you can turn off after you get tired of it. If we allow Obama to succeed it sets a horrific precedent with generational ramifications for peoples of all ideologies and backgrounds. Do you really think America will let Obama succeed? If you do, you don’t understand the American spirit at all.

    Ciao,

    G-N-G

  • Mel

First off Kevin, a function of POTUS is to commute sentences.

Plus the ones you speak of were repentant and second none of them were involved in bombings or killings and the shortest sentence already served was 19 years, longer than most who have commited worse crimes!

The Clinton’s also never socialized with them, had fundraising events sponsored by them or worked with them funding other known terrorist organizations!

True some will bitch over the decissions made even with the two WU Clinton commuted sentences of, but they served time for their actions and again were repenant for them.

To draw a distinction between those who served time and those who never did and are publically unrepentant and gloat as to wishing they had done more are vast in all respects!

The largest difference is everyone knows Clintons faults, they have been vetted over and over again, Obama, his are coming to light and Mr Perfect isn’t so perfect after all and does plenty of talking about his opponent being untrusting while lying over and over again!

So be honest at least with yourself and either you support Obama’s many terorist associations or you don’t, if you do, then so be it, you made your case as to the sort of POTUS you want, if you don’t then you have no right defending the guy! It is simple as black and white, not colorful dreams!

  • http://Whosturnisit? TeakWoodKite

    Kevin,

If you are going to frag Mr. Johnson for giving the facts a fair hearing, without citing where he has “done that very thing on several occasions w/ Obama”, you put your point in a weak position and do not help advance the conversation.

In addition to this you conflate Bill with Hillary. In case you haven’t noticed, being president has a lot do do with the choices the individual makes. Don’t be such a helium balloon. Kites consider them intellectually dishonest.

Trust me or don’t Kevin, Ayers is involved with Obama. Mr. Johnson says 1995, I think it goes back to 1988 and it is close and personal between them, like two peas in a pod. Ayers is opportunist, as is Obama, and there is no way to ascend in the political ladder of Chicago politics without surrendering your vote to ‘them that brought ya’.

So while Obama worked for Ayers for 8 years, Ayers would have not have given him the gig without being dam sure he could count on Obama when it mattered to him.

It was up to Obama to make the correct choices and he has not shown he is capable of doing so, in the past nor in the present on so many different levels.

I ain’t that mad though, I just don’t like being lied to

    FALN Pardons of 1999

On August 11, 1999, Bill Clinton commuted the sentences of sixteen members of FALN that set off bombs several times in New York City and Chicago, convicted for conspiracies to commit robbery, bomb-making, and sedition, as well as for firearms and explosives violations.

None of the sixteen were convicted of bombings or any crime which injured another person, and all of the sixteen had served nineteen years or longer in prison, which was a longer sentence than such crimes typically received, according to the White House. Clinton offered clemency, on condition that the prisoners renounce violence, at the appeal of 10 Nobel Peace Prize laureates, President Jimmy Carter, the Cardinal of New York, and the Archbishop of Puerto Rico.

Again, a commutation on humanitarian grounds.

As someone whose cousin had been a target on an earlier PR assassination attempt, I was uncomfortable with this, but as a member of Amnesty International at the time, I supported it for the greater good.

Kevin….Obama subscibed to a FASCIST POLITICAL THEOLOGY FOR 20 YEARS….Now this might be hard to understand since according to Pastor Wright it’s a right brain kinda thing…..

  • Salo

Presidents often pardon people for political crimes.

The Puerto Ricans also have the fact that they are a Dominion Territory.

So what they did wasn’t that different from The Stern Gang or IRA.

They had limited aims that the government could understand as nationalism.

Ayers proposed a Year Zero revolution in the US.

  • Salo

The IRA are not that different from the Puerto Rican group. Limited nationalistic aims. Terrorists to be sure, but limited in scope.

Ayers wanted a killing field revolution underneath all the antiwar fascade.

  • Mel

The discussion here Kevin is not about Hillary it iis about Obama, doing the tit for tat routing is garbage in defending a question posed of Obama’s associations, not Clinton’s commutings.

And I know full well your tactics of deflection to justify! But doing so makes you appear your defending Obama’s associations, so simply admit you do if you feel Obama is just dandy with all his associations he refuses to talk about, then attack Clinton, since you are a fair gamer at it unlike your friend B-Rob who simply spews out stupid rhetoric!

Tell me Larry… since Ayers is such a bad apple (not saying he is or isn’t) in your view… why is it not equally offensive that Bill would commute the sentences of the FALN terrorists who were unrepentant in their actions? Especially since it was done purely for political pandering reasons to help Hillary?

That was the question you asked and it was answered quite convincingly. You accuse Bill Clinton (not Hillary Clinton) of doing something and are trying to smear her with a an executive decision by her husband to commute the sentences of sixteen people from prison on humanitarian grounds.

Ayers and Dohrn are friends with and political supporters of Barack Obama. This is not a relationship through executive action by the spouse of the candidate. They are friends.

There is a qualitative difference here and you know it. C’mon, you can see this is going to be another major political problem for Sen. Obama.

I know you continually repeat it Kevin, but why don’t you answer Larry’s first, instead of posturing, say you agree with Obama’s associations with the likes of Ayers et al, then move on…lol

    what is your point?

    She’s mathematically out, correct?

$40 million spent and all they found was a most powerful gun in the US still worked.

I think you are defeating your own argument here.

Gerry Adams was invited into the US by Clinton.

It was an official act of state.

    Commuting the sentences of terrorists.

    another act of state.

Obama aworking for Ayers at the Annenburg Challenge.

    Professional working relationship.

btw I lived in the UK while the IRA were bombing us Brits. The political value of commuting sentences and inviting Adams to the US is self evident. They can be seen by most adults as a part of a peace process.

Ayers hosting parties for Obama in his house. Professional working relationship.

It makes a difference to those who fight terrorists.

Or is that one over your head, too?

  • Mel

Come on Kevin, you either condone Obama’s associations or you don’t, which is it?

  • Salo

you’re acting like a Stalinist. you don’t get to judge the Truth and Loyalty of other people’s opinions like that. You’re just looking to mindlessly dominate and fight with dissenters. It’s not like this AYers/Rezko/Wright trifecta isn’t going to be the tenor of the GOP strategy against Obama. It’s not like I can stop the trainwreck. Don’t blame me for what’s going down. Blame your overbearing campaign for TRing dissent off the Press and places like DKos.

So everyone who went to trinity, who stayed at trinity is an unabashed, radical black activist who wants to kill whitey and marshall in some sort of marxist utopia????

Most people are likely to be surprised at the radicalism pushed there. They are equally surprized that so few congregants noticed how insane wright was. Why didn’t people notice and challenge Wright’s schizophrenic outbursts?

That’s essentially what you’ve accused anyone who’s known Wright and attended that church of.

Why was Wright’s insanity tolerated on the pulpit by the people that filled the pews? The Congregation was obviously sympathetic to Wright’s ideological/cultural manifesto. Wright was widely defended by AAs until Obama upbraided him for suggesting tha Obama was a typical panderer. If those AAs were willing to overlook Wrightmania until Obama was insulted, what conclusion might be drawn about the intellectual consistency of Obama’s congragtion and those willing to defend Wright in the wider AA, Media, activist community? what else might be overlooked for the sake of expediency?

At best it makes Obama look like a craven opportunist. At Worst Obama becomes a dangerous radical subscribing to Wright’s ideology.

You’re smarter than that… why wallow in the nonsense, just cause it’s easier? Or are you carrying water for the GOP?

Adlai had the vote of the smart people but he needed a majority.
