Lannie Davis on the RULES & An Obama Candidacy:

As someone just wrote below, Lanny Davis is a hero! I’d vote for Lanny for any job anytime, especially president! You and Hillary would set this country right! You both have the cajones.

UPDATE: A friend just wrote this in an e-mail, and I’m sharing it with you — it was regarding the suspicious delays last night in reporting results from Indiana, and what else is going on:

People at TalkLeft are speculating WHY they would need to cheat [UPDATE: HERE IS THE THREAD] – he doesn’t have to win Indiana. Then mentioning the secret meeting Obama attended in NC yesterday. And concluding it’s because they want Hillary to drop out before W. Virginia and Kentucky, to keep Obama from looking bad.

This whole thing is stunning. I really do think the DNC doesn’t care about winning in the fall. They care about Obama’s money pipeline and maintaining their power. And that’s it.

So, screw universal healthcare. Screw the environment. Screw the Supreme Court.

And most of all, screw the working class. There is no one left who will speak for them.

SEE ALSO: Texas Caucus Fraud, by Pacific John, published here last week. It tells the STORY of how Barack Obama is stealing this nomination.

THOUGHTS:

I overslept by an hour. I needed it. But I am still of one mind: That the Democratic party has the most pathetic ability to nominate the worst possible candidate who is guaranteed to lose in November.

This time it’s Barack Obama. John McCain will win against him in a landslide.

Only Hillary could carry the big states necessary to win a general election.

  • blobert

Lannie is my hero. He single-handedly fended off 7 CNN Obama droids.
    I wept.

  • Ellen Tenn

I hope all of the delegates are listening to what Lannie Davis has to say. Hillary can beat John McCain in the fall

  • victim.of.violence.of.obama.supporters

He cannot win a general election if he can only carry 37% of the Caucasian vote in North Carolina. I also imagine many Caucasian voters are not pleased with Michelle Obama’s race baiting.

  • blobert

(Susan and Larry are my other 2 heros. I do not know what I would do without No Quarter)

  • victim.of.violence.of.obama.supporters

Obama barely won Lake County, Indiana, which is located in the media market of Chicago. He also enjoyed the benefits of voter fraud in Gary, Indiana. And yet, the voters of Hammond, Crown Point, Cedar Lake, Schererville and other steel towns rejected the community activist and embraced Clinton. The notion he can win a general election when he cannot carry Latino and Caucasian working class suburbs of his city strains credulity. Even Hammond, which lies on the border with Chicago, voted for Clinton. How does Obama explain that? Why did a steel town vote against the community organizer? I guess the voters of Hammond know Obama did absolutely nothing for steelworkers. When will voters from other states finally listen to the Latino and Caucasian voters of Hammond?

  • sjc-tx

Speaking of “rules”… Why is nothing being said/done about polling place rule breaking by obama, as seen in at least one video yesterday? They cheated at many caucus states; they cheat period… WHY are they allowed to get away with this? …so much for politics as usual…

Where the Dem Rules Really Lead
    http://blogs.cqpolitics.com/trailmix/2008/04/where-the-dem-rules-really-lea.html
    By Craig Crawford
    April 29

The mandatory penalties set forth by the Democratic National Committee’s delegate selection rules call for outlaw states like Florida and Michigan to only lose half of their delegates to the national convention. And yet the DNC went beyond its own rules to add further penalties, stripping those states of all delegates.
The DNC rules also prohibited public appearances and electronic advertising before the polls closed by candidates in states that had jumped the approved primary calendar. Barack Obama made a public appearance in Florida in September 2007, talking to reporters after a fundraiser. His campaign also bought television ads on cable news outlets that ran throughout Florida before its renegade primary.
Strictly speaking, if the DNC rules were tightly construed in this case, Hillary Rodham Clinton would receive half of the Florida delegates she won and Obama would receive none — the penalty for violating the campaign ban.

Having written something like that we can see why Craig is no longer welcome on the Obama Newwork aka MSNBC.

Yup Susan, they wanted to marginalize Hillary in Indiana. I saw it happen here once and I am not even in Chicago. It’s an old smarmy trick. She won’t drop out even if Jesus comes down as a superdelegate. She has her reasons.

I notice that George McGovern asked Hillary to drop out. This is the single most significant thing I have seen in weeks. McGovern Knows what is going to happen to Obama. Obama IS McGovern. George McGovern recognizes exactly what is about to happen and would like to at least save the party. Me? I don’t give a shit where the party goes anymore. I care about them like they care about me.

But McGovern is SIGNIFICANT. He also endorsed Hillary last year. Nobody knows this handwriting I have been talking about like McGovern.

    McGovern is wrong, period.

Dean and Pelosi are the problem, period.

They say when a drunk pulls up stakes, moving on, he does so in an effort to escape geographically, it will be better some place else.

But the same old problems catch up with him, he can’t escape his flawed psychology, his flawed psychology is the problem.

That’s how it is withe dean and pelsoi, et al, they can’t lead, THEY need to go, not Clinton, their flawed psychology is the problem. If it’s not Clinton, it’s betraying americans on the war, or striving to put that corrupt terrorist connected piece of filth in the white house. WHAT a slap in the face of the American voter, who the hell are you, Dr Dean?

  • ChrisXP

Well, WP has Rove on it’s Q+A discussion now. So far he’s giving such pearls of truth…

My theory is that she was afraid of the Netroots and how they’d react if she emphasized these centrist themes, and so she allowed him to get traction when it was her record, not his, that would have provided a firm foundation for these themes.

Partisans will lamblast Rove for everything, but if you remove the partisan shrills from the content, Rove does make a good point in the above statement. Hillary is too scared to upset the Far-Left and the “‘netroots” that she let Obama gain traction on HER THEMES. In other words, Obama is doing what he likes to do best — ape what he isn’t and exploiting it.

Hillary needs to play for the win. Politics is dirty business, and toes will be stepped on. But to win, the candidate must seal the deal, not walk on eggshells only to crack them in the end (by not winning the GE).

Her base likes her to fight on. The thing is, she’s doing so with only one boxing glove, the other tied behind her back, all to not upset the very Dems that tried to upset even Bill’s presidency (anyone remember how they riled him because he was a moderate????). :(

Excuse this OT cross posting but you might want to marinate on some of these concepts and ideas. Below are a couple comments I made a little while ago. Don’t be afraid to ratchet up our righteous attacks on Obama, just make sure your behavior is within the law.

Susan, some thoughts I posted already that might be of interest:

    Comment by Unleashed Lion | 2008-05-07 10:12:56

I am not religious, but there is truth where we find it:

“Forgive them, my Lord, they know not what they do.”

That being said, as I stated last night:

“Be careful when you arouse a lion, expect him to bite.

America will now fight Obama tooth and nail with all legal means available to us. He won’t be allowed to fuck with our very way of life. Period.”

The battle has just begun, my friends and this lion has a mean bite.

These children who troll here actually believe America will hand over control of its nuclear arsenal to a man who coddles and embraces terrorists? And to a man who subverts the very Constitution he swore on a bible to support and defend? The very same Constitution he shits on by fomenting insurrection in the form of a threatened race war?

The battle plan is simple: in public and in private the delegates will be shown Obama is a danger and threat to our very freedoms and liberties. And you troll children have no control over the private dialog going on behind the scenes. You can’t spin the truth when you are not the actual decision makers having the discussions.

The adults of America now will save us and you from that wannabe tyrannical dictator Obama that you foolishly idolize.

    —————————————————–

And this, in response to a mention of Brazille and her comments about not needing the base of the Democratic party:

    Comment by Unleashed Lion | 2008-05-07 10:25:58

    Excellent comment!

Brazille looks crazed lately, like she has been smoking too much hopeium and drinking gallons of coffee to stay up because she is so groggy, fucked up and stoned from the hopeium.

What this means to me is the internal pressure in the DNC from Hillary and us supporters is having a huge impact on Brazille and Dean. This is great news to see her so fucked up. The Clinton’s must be pouncing on the DNC and the delegates in private — and we can’t see this overtly, but Brazille’s wacky behavior and politically suicidal comments last night is very strong anecdotal evidence of a Hillary checkmate in sight. :)

  • it’snotme

Because the MSM and Obamaroids HATE the Clintons. Jake Tapper, ABC, admitted on his blog that the reason the MSM is so anti-Hillary is because (paraphrased): “They are burned-out on covering the Clintons. They want to cover someone new for a change.”

Mr. Hope will not pay for his crimes UNTIL he is the nominee. The MSM will turn on him so fast your head will spin.

“… the Democratic party has the most pathetic ability to nominate the worst possible candidate who is guaranteed to lose in November.”

    Truer words were never spoken.

It’s interesting to compare Obama vs W. W is a puppet who would never have been elected on his own merits. He got into the White House on family connections and lots and lots of big bucks. At least, though, the Republicans bought him the Texas Governor’s Mansion before having the audacity to nominate him as a Presidential candidate.

The Democrats saw what an effective weapon the Republicans had in mobilizing a brainwashed Christian right as a voting block. So now the idiot Democrats are collecting their own big bucks and mobilizing their own color loyal voters and, as Paul Begala says, egghead base and think they can do what the Republicans did by nominating their own puppet. Obama was a social engineer in Chicago, has fabulous foreign policy intuition, if not experience, and knows how to read from a teleprompter. So everybody, what more could you want?

The one thing I like as much as anything about the Clintons is that they got where they are today on their own merits.

    Heaven help us.

As for the really dumb Democrats behind all this…at the top of the list, I would put Kerry, Kennedy, and Dodd, someone needs to knock their heads together like the Three Stooges they are.

I predict a McCain presidency will result in more chaos, and less efficacy for the American government, as McCain does not assert the same control Cheney did, and Congress will not feel beholden to him, or intimidated.

All strategy must change, including Rove’s Amway truss, even if McCain understands, the republican ops don’t, they might be inclined to disobey him, esp as he doesn’t intimidate them.

In addition, Republicans are afraid of change, they will be resistant to any new methods McCain offers.

Good chance, pelsoi will also lose her speakership, as an Obama nomination will result in Congressional republican gains.

Somewhere along the line, our Congress flipped, and became the politburo in terms of corruption, and cowardice.

    But the politburo was managed.

You put a man not able to govern in the Presidency, you lose.

I was in San Antonio Texas with my family during their primary. I took my father to his polling station so he could cast his vote. later that night I returned with him so he could caucus. I walked away from him for about 5 minutes to seek out a restroom. While I was gone, two Obamaphiles walked up to my father and asked him to leave! now my dad is a career military man. he didnt take too kindly to two “Kids” telling him he could not vote. As the shouting got louder, one of them grabbed his arm and was trying to force him across the room. I walked up just then. now, I am 6’1″. was a body builder when I was younger and played football. my kids call me a big “Injun”..lol.. when they saw me and realized they picked on the wrong man, they shit!
I saw this over and over again while I was there. Needless to say, many “older” voters came and stood by us so as not to be frightened. I filed a complaint with the San Antonio Police, but it went nowhere as the two punks were nowhere to be found.

  • pm317

Thanks, Uppity. I sent her an email why I support Clinton and Why I will never vote for Obama.

here it is if anybody cares:

    Here are my reasons:
    1. Most importantly, she has the brains — it will be good to have
somebody in the WH who is as brilliant as she is after 8 years of the
    current bozo.
    2. Her priorities are the right priorities for me — healthcare, economy,
energy, Education — science and technology (my personal favorite — she
talks about increasing R&D budget for NIH and NSF).
    3. She is tough — did you watch her interview with Bill O’Reilly? She is
not afraid to take anybody on at an intellectual level. Why, for that
matter, I have never seen a politician reach so many audiences in one
sitting — she knows exactly whom she should address with her response and
the brilliance of it is she is doing this on the fly, kind of optimizing
your expression to convey the most impact on your ideas.
    4. She is sincere and her passion for public service shows.
    5. Finally, we have an abundantly qualified female candidate. We have to
be absolutely blind, deaf, and dumb to think otherwise. She will beat
    McCain in a heart beat.
    —————
Now why I will never vote for Obama if he is the nominee:
    1. He has blocked revote in FL and MI and preventing counting those votes.
Things like this should not happen in a democracy and I want no part of
it. He is illegitimate winning it this way.
    2. His judgment is in question because of his extended associations with
    people of questionable character.
    3. His character is in question because of all the corrupt ways in which
he won caucuses and some primaries, even as recent as last night — Gary
and Lake county IN and mock ballots that looked real and said official on
them in NC. About 90%, 600k votes of his lead comes from Illinois and
about more than 400k of that comes from Cook county. I have dug up actual
numbers on this and they don’t make sense.
    4. His paper thin resume — stealing other people’s work in Illinois state
senate in his last year, present votes, hitting the wrong button defense
on some bills (my personal fav) and nothing of importance in the US
    senate.
    5. A suspicion on why the DNC and the media are forcing this candidate on
us. There is still not much vetting on this candidate and there is much
    more we don’t know about.
    6. Bottomline, he has not earned my trust. He is not electable. He has not
built the broad coalition required to win in November. I refuse to be
coerced into accepting a weaker candidate pushed through by a minority
    voting bloc.

Obama reminds me so much of George. They’re both so cocky they can’t feel the strings. George was the last candidate MSNBO picked out for us, and we know how well that worked out. This time MSNBO is in the tank for Obama. Prudent dems would wonder why, instead of buying into the soap opera. MSNBO is 80% owned by General Electric. What do Obama’s book, his wife’s job, and the first person he said he consulted before running for Puppet of the United States have in common? James Crown of General Dynamics. Nuclear power to solve climate change, anyone? My only hope is that Obama who is against dumb wars doesn’t get us into his own smart one. All in all, I’d rather we have a giant bailout for nuclear plowshares than WWIII.

The idea argument that Hillary can best defeat John McCain, but can’t beat a “horrible”, “flawed”, “inexperienced” “unelectable” candidate of her own party is what is ridiculous, Lanny! That’s like the Georgia Bulldogs football team claiming they should play for the national title when they didn’t even win their conference! It just makes no sense!

And the only thing dumber than that argument is the “Obama can’t win the big states” argument. OK, let’s take this slow, people: about 60% of the electorate in California is Dem. He was battling a Dem when he didn’t win Cali. So how in the hell, from that, do you conclude that he can’t win Cali. when he is up against a GOPer?! It makes no sense. And the proof it makes no sense? By the same argument, Hillary cannot be elected president because she cannot win solid Blue States like Maryland, Vermont, Washington, and Minnesota! After all, she didn’t beat Obama there, so she can’t beat McCain there either!

THOSE two smarmy guys! The one State Senator’s face is indelibly burned in my brain, his mushy face declaring, “It’s good to be in the lead.”

You forget the most democrats are americans before they are democrats.
His Kenya style tactics make most of us turn away and stay away.
Funny thing about americans they do not like cheats and bullies. They have a problem with a fool who has bbfs that are anti-american. His record on helping people is nill. Ask the people he represented in Chicago. He will hurt this country before he would help it and most of us know this already. The rest of you will have to learn the hard way.

We need to start thinking about more formal ways to protest en masse. This cannot go unanswered. If we allow them to force BO on us, and continue to support the party, we are setting a very dangerous precedent, and signaling to them that they can do whatever they want and still have the party line up behind their crooked, self-serving ways. I refuse. I not only WILL NOT support Obama, I think it is imperative that we start to show more organized visibility in response to this insult to democracy.

Stepping off of the Brazile/Dean bus is preferable to getting thrown under it.

obamabot forgets that repubs get to vote in a general. and they get to vote for a repub.

roughly half the country are repubs and will vote for mccain. if you think they’re voting for your guy, you need to drink some koolaid antidote.

roughly half the dems will vote for mccain or nader or not vote.

that leaves your guy with his half of the dems.

basic math – half the dems = one-fourth of the total.

    worse than mcgovern.

From the looks on McGovern’s face, he looks incredibly pained! I feel kind of bad for him at some level. But I will never feel bad for that little shit Obama.

I hear you I, also, gave up my full Wash Post subscription after many MANY years. I now only get the Sunday edition and the only reason I did that was because I scored a deal for 50 cents a week for a year. They’re not making anything on that deal… LOL! The Post has gone by the wayside in my opinion! In fact they, having money problems, are layinig people off now. I could care less…

  • ScottVA

McGovern is the LAST politician to ever try to interject or give his opinion about getting out of the race. Hell he should’ve listened to himself 36 years ago if that’s the case!

  • bmc

That clip pushed my blood pressure up about 100 pts; watching them laugh at Lannie Davis’ expense after twitty little’s juvenile comment was really sickening. But Davis answered them clearly and calmly. His reply put them all to shame, though I doubt they realize how pathetic they looked.

  • Jo

I will not vote for Obmama under any circumstances.

I would hope Hillary might run as an independent and take many millions of votes away from Obama.

Of course, she won’t if she cares about “the party” and I suppose she does.

So, if she isn’t the nominee I guess it’s time to campaign for and vote for John McCain

  • http://hmmmmm Mickey-Flickey

We all have to give Hillary credit, she is willing to borrow a billion dollars to keep this going, i have lots of luv for her but that money can best be served by contributing it to the gas Holiday.

  • victim.of.violence.of.obama.supporters

i am really concerned about the violence of obama supporters. the voter fraud in gary, indiana, also concerns me. and now they have become so violent, they desire to rent the democratic party asunder. but even worse, they think women, Latinos, Catholics and Caucasians are irrelevant. what is wrong with them? why are they seeking to eliminate entire constituencies?

did they learn this from reverend wright?

  • Jo

I agree the violence, threats of riots, and unrest if Obama doesn’t get the nomination is very frightening and is no way an American election should be run.

This is outrageous and I even hear pundits make these kinds of remarks.

If blacks or whomever don’t like it, then join the republican party.

The millions of voters in FL & MI are punished because ther REPUBLICAN controlled legislatures moved the primaries NOT the voters or the democrats in those states!!

The fact that this is being overlooked is outrageous and typical of the way elections have gone in this country lately!

FL & MI voters aren’t going to riot or make threats and THEY are the ones being denied their choice and vote.

Their choice is Hillary!! She is actually ahead!

Obama is stealing the nomination just like George Bush stole the election in 2000!!! Disgusting!

McGovern got 38%. Started out popular as hell too. Downright embarrassing it was.

  • David Stewart

The Hillary haters are so rabid it no longer matters that John McCain is beating Sen Obama in almost every poll. The Hillary haters would rather lose the White House than see her as president. Thanx Lanny!!!! for standing up for Hillary when msnbc, nbc, and cnn have already thrown their media suport to Obama

  • Gerald Harnish

    Lannie,
Please tell Hillary to go independent. She can beat
Obama and McCain in the fall. People would donate
and she would have plenty to spend on the General
Election.I know she could get plenty of volunteers
to help with her campaign and she has plenty of time
to beat them. Obama acts like he is already the
president of the United States of America. I can’t
stand his arrogance and disrespect to Hillary. I will
never vote for him. I have been a Democrat all my life and cannot vote if Hillary is not on the ballot.
    TELL HER TO GO INDEPENDENT
    Sincerely,
    G Harnish
