I feel like you’re making it black and white – we have to pick one “side” to go after, and it should be Bush.

I see no reason to only go after the previous criminals, and leave the current criminals in power. If they’re guilty, they must go! I don’t care what party they’re in. It’s not black and white to ME – we need to go after all the guilty. Not just the previous guilty.

i wanted them(bush/cheney) held accountable but i won’t be part of dimocratic plan to use them for their patisan purposes. all of the so called high minded refuse to see it for what it is. the dimocrats are not your friend anymore than repubs were. nancy could have held bush accountable but she didn’t. to do it right now would deter us in a serious econonimic crisis and further tear this country apart.

connie, nancy had every opporunity to open her mouth and demand torture stop. she had every opportunity to put bush up for impeachment. she could have stopped funding. she didn’t. she could have done many thing she chose not to do. and she WAS WELL INFORMED ABOUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING. make no mistake there. what YOU AND OTHERS ARE MISSING HERE IS THAT YOU WANT US TO CLOSE OUR EYES AND LET THE LYING, DOUBLE DIPPING, HOODWINKING, FRAUD AND TEARING THE COUNTRY TO PIECES IN ORDER TO SUPPORT DIMOCRATS???????????????????????PLEASE THERE IS NO REASON TO DO SO! ziggy, his use of his racial heritage included playing the race card which did and will have a negative effect on race relation in the long term, IMO. It is not a pleasant to ponder a future of increased animosity between races due to the ambitions of a few pols making any honest dialogue futile. You argue the election has resulted in broken barrier and I agree, but no matter how history is written or rewritten, he should be judged by his words and deeds which directly impacts people I love and worry about. So far, what he has said and done has reinforced my original opinion (ie He is inexperienced, incompetent and dishonest).

I don’t feel inclined to rehash all of my view of what actually happened in 2007/2008. I don’t need to vent right now and I know nothing will change your mind. I probably will not laugh or say “I told you so” if his presidency so far is evidence of what is to come and you reach the point you can no longer lie to yourself about the ambition and superficiality of this man.

I beginning to wonder if this isn’t all political theater, that Nancy P. has been drawn into this through her own incompetence, but all of this drama is nothing more than a distraction, a way of shifting the focus off the real issue: letting the question of torture slide for so-called “national security” issues.

Even Reid’s pronouncement yesterday, a refusal to fund the transfer of Gitmo inmates seemed more like stagecraft to me. What better way to cover the Administration’s behind–we wanted to do it but those meanies and cowards in Congress wouldn’t fund the operation.

It’s all starting to look like an on-going Passion Play for the masses, to keep things churned up and immediate, to keep stoking the public’s fear, anger and uneasiness, while our pockets are being picked and our way of life dismantled.

I don’t trust any of these people anymore. Pelosi can get flushed with the lot of them. She deserves it as do the majority of the Dem and Repug party members. They’re not serving us; they’re serving themselves and the money interests that keep them in the game.

It’s disgusting!

Lashing out is when they called Sarah Palin a c*** or when they called Hillary a monster.

stodie: why does everything always have to come down to partisanship with the Republicans on this blog? Why is it that Democrats (or former Democrats can be objective about their party, but if any criticism is leveled at Republicans, people like you immediately lash out at the commenter?

You’re not even addressing what connie said. She’s not lauding the media or attempting to gloss over the Democrats. If conservatives can’t ever look at their representatives and admit when the Republican politicians have made a mistake, if Republicans keep insisting the Democrats are all bad and the Republicans should always be in power, then we’ll never get a fair, balanced government. That thinking would lead to one-party system like the Soviet Union had.

Even Larry Johnson can look at both parties and recognize when one or the other is dropping the ball and he was a Republican working inside the government.
