Do As I Say Not As I Do

A No Quarter story entitled These are Barack Obama’s Supporters, a writer from a staunch Obama site where the rest of us are not welcome discusses Hillary Clinton supporters and their complete unwillingness to vote for Barack Obama. For some odd reason, our willingness to vote for anybody but Barack Obama seems to come as some kind of surprise to them. Go figure. However, in the world of Barack Obama, this is some kind of punishable offense or something.
The big complaint is that we Hillary supporters are “threatening” to vote for John McCain if Obama is the nominee. First of all, to many of us, it’s not a threat, it’s a promise. There’s also a Write Hillary In site that is parked, just in case it is needed. Secondly, our unwillingness to vote for Barack Obama is not only our choice and our promise, but it’s our right. At least so far.
There is more than a little hypocrisy associated with the writer’s outrage over our promise. In fact, there are a number of posts at Obama sites that discuss exactly the same thing in reverse.
Apparently, as is the case throughout this primary season, Obama supporters firmly believe that it’s OK for them have feelings, but it’s not OK for a Clinton supporter to have the same feelings in reverse. This kind of puts the concept of future democracy under Obama into question, don’t you think? I mean, I sometimes get the feeling these folks are practicing. I kind of thought we were about to put the Bush Bully years behind us. But considering the comments made in response to the blogger as shown below, I kind of think “cancer” is definitely the appropriate word, but not in the way intended:
“We must separate loyal party members from counter-revolutionaries. The first shall inherit our glorious future. The second must be purged from us and history”.
-Mao Zedong 1953
We need to separate the 90% of Clinton supporters who are indeed good logical people and the Kool Aid Cultists like Jerome, Alegre, Lanny Davis, Susan Hu and Taylor Marsh.
The quicker we ditch these cancers, the better we all are.
I see. Thanks for clearing up what this Obama campaign really means.Talk about confirming our worst suspicions.
I thought you might like to see that there are indeed also cancerous Obama supporters, right there at the same complaining site, who have said the exact same thing! That’s correct. This blogger said “I will vote for John McCain if Hillary Clinton is the Democratic Nominee”. Apparently, they are a better marxist “cancer” than we are. See?:

When we Clinton supporters saw these tirades, did we write a diary full of hypocritical outrage against the blogger? Of course not. Because after all, we are still living in a Democracy and Barack Obama hasn’t as yet changed that. This kind of behavior does conjure thoughts of exactly what kind of “change” Barack Obama has in mind with respect to our government, doesn’t it? But as of today, it’s still legal to do whatever we want in a voting booth, right?
Personally, I thank God that the General Election is not a caucus and nobody can bully anybody about who to vote for. But as it stands right now, there won’t be any buses full of overly aggressive class-cutting Obama chanting students standing too close to the voting locations. Everybody will be able to vote. Disabled people who couldn’t withstand caucus will get to vote. The elderly won’t have to caucus or stay home. They get to vote. People who work on shifts, such as police officers, firefighters, nurses, and other people who work to keep our butts safe will get to vote for whomever they want at their convenience. Nobody will get to pick who they vote for in their absence. It all just takes a minute! Just like a democracy!
My final question is: How come it’s OK for an Obama supporter to say he would rather vote for John McCain than Hillary Clinton, but it’s not OK for a Hillary Clinton supporter to say she or he would rather vote for John McCain than Barack Obama? — without being insulted, hassled or accused of “threats”. Just wondering.
Having lived in America for a fair amount of time now, I always thought that discussing who you were going to vote for constituted a preference not a “threat”. At least that’s the way it’s been up till now.
I guess that the lesson here is that Obama people still think they can tell Clinton supporters what to do. Kind of a Double Standard they think they have going for them. This seems to be a pretty common tone during this primary season, so we are fairly oblivious to it. After all, some of us have fought bigger monsters than an Obama supporter. Some of us are even financially supporting some of them in our homes. So Good Luck With That.
