- There are 900,000 teen pregnancies annually (11-12% of all births in US).
- 22% of teen girls have been sexting (sending out nude or semi nude photos of themselves)
- 29% of single households led by women are below the poverty level (12% for
men). - Women represent 52% of the voters yet are only 17% of our government representation.
- The US ranks 29th in infant mortality rates. We were 12th in 1960; we now tie with Slovakia and lag behind Cuba.
- The US ranks 27th in the 2008 Global Gender Gap study of economic opportunity, education, political empowerment and health. We lag behind Lativa, Lesotho, Mozambique, and Moldova.
- 15 of Fortune 500 companies have females CEOs
- Women have dropped from 17% of high management-level jobs in 2007 to
15% today; this is the wrong direction.
