I now have it from ~~two~~ ~~three~~ four sources (three who are close to senior Republicans) that there is video dynamite–Michelle Obama railing against “whitey” at Jeremiah Wright’s church. Republicans may have a lousy record when it comes to the economy and the management of the war in Iraq, but they are hell on wheels when it comes to opposition research. Someone took the chance and started reviewing the recordings from services at Jeremiah Wright’s United Church of Christ. Holy smoke!! I am told there is a clip that is being held for the fall to drop at the appropriate time. The last thing Barack and Michelle need is a new clip that raises further questions about her judgment and temperament. Here’s what the Republicans are currently using in Tennessee:

When the ugly video tapes about Jeremiah Wright’s racist ravings first broke Barack Obama told us he could no more disown Jeremiah Wright than his own Grandmother. Well, we all know how that turned out. So will Barack stand by Michelle when the tape emerges of her verbally attacking “whitey?” Republicans, who are otherwise gloomy about prospects in November, recognize that this recording will create real problems for Barack and give them a shot at the White House. It is their October surprise.

Does Barack have an obligation to tell the Democrats, super delegates in particular, about this tape? Did Barack and his campaign do their basic homework and identify this tape as a potential problem? And, more importantly, do they have a copy? Probably better to deal with this issue before the convention rather than wait for October. What do you think?

You’re 100% correct. Republian leaders don’t want McCain to face Clinton in a general election because her record & qualifications are such that McCain would lose to her. Not so with Obama. Thus the Republican-owned & controlled media has attempted to blitz Clinton & get her out of the race while–at this time– repressing unfavorable reports about Obama. If Obama became the nominee, the media would turn on him with the same tactics it’s been using on Clinton, and he’d lose easily.

Hillary’s campaign manager, Terry McAuliffe said himself that the “Republican-owned & controlled” Fox News has been more favorable to Hillary than any other news outlet. He actually thanked them for their “fair & balanced” coverage. I think what’s going on here is that Obama is the darling of the liberally-biased mainstream media, e.g. CNN. I have people very close to me who work at CNN, and they tell me that there is a strong, institutional bias towards Obama. They want him to be the next President, not Hillary or McCain. But you can bet they would take Hillary over McCain if they had to choose.

The word is out — On Tuesday Obama will announce he is the winner of the nomination and because so many Americans know nothing about delegates and the election procress they are going to try to brazen their way through this. In my opinion this will end up being Obama’s Mission Accomplished moment. But they can’t stop Clinton and if this thing goes much further she will surpass him. Man, are you right about that! I was listening to Alex Bennett on Syrius Left today, and he made this SAME point. An Obama supporter called in and complained about what he was saying–accused Alex of giving Hillary a “free ride”. Alex pointed out that he had been hard on Hillary, too, but that all the race business had been totally concocted by the Obama people. As Bennett pointed out, Obama was desparate before the South Carolina primary because Hillary was polling BETTER with blacks than Obama was. So what did Obama and his surrogates do? Why, they cried “racist” at EVERY SINGLE THING coming out of the Clinton campaign! And of course, the idiot media played right along! To this day, I will NEVER understand what was wrong with Hillary talking about the role that LBJ played in civil rights. Even MLK recognized this, and it galled me no end when the Obama campaign tried to make Hillary into a racist for merely reflecting on some of the other players in the civil rights movement besides MLK!

Interestingly, Alex Bennett said that the Obama-bots had been calling him right and left and accusing him of being a “right winger” with many even calling Alex a “racist” for not bowing down and kissing Obama’s ring. He complained about this, too–he said that the extreme lefties were just as hateful and destructive as the right wingers. On that point, I totally AGREE with Alex–authoritarianism is bad, whether it comes from the right or the left! Sadly, from what I have seen thus far, there are a lot of authoritarian types associated with the Obama campaign, and I’ve seen little out of “The One” to indicate to me that he has tried to rein these people in. The crowd in Michigan that booed John Edwards for saying nice things about Hillary is a perfect example of this. Over half the crowd were booing, and if Obama had exhibited any sort of positive leadership, that would not be occurring to such a great degree.

I guess my question is: Is Hillary’s team going through the church tapes, pulling out this excerpt, and taking it to the superdels and the DNC? And if so, are these elites so deluded by their sense of the overriding power of “white guilt” (an affliction suffered by elites of pallor, but which working stiffs probably don’t have time for as they commute between their second and third jobs) as to think that a prospective FLOTUS herself caught on national TV in a racist rant can be effectively countered by some mumbo jumbo about Mr. Obama being “post-racial?”

Once I declared Independent, the fact is that Obama’s campaign in the Fall, if that’s the future, is not my problem.

I’ve watched as the DNC played favorites this year, as the East Coast elite trashed the Clintons, as Obama got by with attacking Hillary’s character and at the same time, kept being accusatory about her “negative” campaigning, and essentially has already reversed his entire platform through his actions.

I definitely couldn’t recommend him as a worthy candidate to a friend. Why should I to myself?

Michelle is particularly offensive. “If you can’t keep your own house in order, you can’t keep the White House in order,” was my own personal favorite. That’s just down and dirty trash talk.

If she’s humiliated by her own past actions, too bad. She, then, showed poor judgment at the time. Mature people behave in a way that they aren’t likely to be ashamed later. If she’s immature, then she’s immature. And she brought it onto herself by behaving that way ever.

In short, I have no sympathy.

I had no sympathy for Obama when his “bitter” comments got recorded. A mature politician who claims to be ready to be president doesn’t talk one way behind closed doors and another to the public. That’s just frankly stupid. And he found out that words DO matter.

I had no sympathy for Obama when the Wright tapes were released. What mature person stays in such a church and calls someone who talks that way his “mentor.” He was told to distance himself, but frankly, he can’t. He is the one who aligned himself closely and stayed aligned for 20 years. So that was bad advice.

I have no sympathy for Obama when the press points out that he’s hiding from them, avoiding interviews, dodging questions. The candidate who hollared for Hillary’s tax returns incessantly didn’t produce his own until after she did, and he’s already established a reputation of avoiding the press….while trying to sell that he’s about change and transparency?

If he’s outted as a hypocrite, then my faith in the American people for spotting BS is restored.

And I think we’ve got real problems in this country that no BS artist can possibly address.

If the Democrats blew it by letting Kennedy bamboozle them and not following Bill Clinton’s advice to vet the guy, too darn bad.

Think for a minute guys…if the republicans have this videotape, I’d bet the farm that they would not release it now, because they don’t want to hurt Obama’s chances that the SD’s will fold under pressure and give him the nomination. He’s the weaker candidate and with numerous scandals waiting in the wings to be exposed during the GE (which I believe are comming with Rezko, the connection with Auchi and God knows what else). After all, Obama rose to power under the protective wing of the Daley political machine and they don’t support any politician they can’t control totally because they are willing to be corrupt too.

The republicans will unleash their worst ammunition against Obama, once they can get Hillary out of the race.

I also believe Hillary is the only power that stands between us and a nightmare of an agenda that a greater power than the DNC or the RNC are promoting. It’s much more frightening and I believe deals with the breakdown of economies all around the world and how they power elite plan to deal with it.

This is why Hillary is staying in and fighting tooth and nail on behalf of the American people. She knows something sinister awaits us, if Obama is given the nomination. He is only a pawn, IMO.

In the meantime, we must do everything we can to make certain HIllary wins all of the next contest, particularly Kentucky, PR and Oregon. She is our ace in the hole in being able to stop the economic meltdown that will totally undermine our democratic process as we know it.

Apparently, according to FOX News, the Obama campaign has hired 400 bloggers to influence the public discourse and sway Hillary voters to “remember we are all Democrats”, to give up Clinton’s cause, and to become dutiful citizens of the Obama Nation.

Also, it’s been noted by several HillBuzz readers, that Obama volunteers are being told to ratchet down the anti-Hillary hate, because someone in the campaign realizes Hillary Clinton supporters are not very likely to support Obama if he becomes the nominee.

My Granny had a box in her closet filled with tapes of sermons that came from her church. In her last few years she wasn’t able to attend, but kept each and every sermon on tape. I’ll bet alot that there are TUCC members sitting on old tapes. If I were a Chicago reporter, I’d do my best to make friends with all the older members of that church.

When confronted with the likes of Mr. and Mrs. Obama and Jeremiah Wright, Eric Lee, Al Sharpton, et al I have become strangely sympathetic to Condoleeza Rice…which is an unreal feeling for me to have. I remember very well the first night Fox aired the Wright tapes, and they said they had hours and hours and hours of them, because Hannity had been talking about Wright for months and no one else in the MSM seemed interested. That same night CNN was forced to show one or two clips, and Anderson Cooper APOLOGIZED for having to air them, called them less than “newsworthy”.
At any rate, that first night Fox showed a tape on Wright ranting about the high incidence of black on black crime in this nation, and he said loud and clear “You’re killing the wrong people”. I have never seen that tape again, on Fox or anywhere else, and I’m not sure that there is a transcript of that entire H&C show so that someone could find it, but that comment was startling to me, and I think that if anyone has a Michelle tape they’re saving, it would be Hannity. I am pretty sure they bought every tape they could get their hands on before they disappeared for good.

If those video-tapes exist of Michelle Obama, somewhere there has to be more than what the Republican party has or some other conservative commentator like Sean Hannity.

I think a first question to check out would be does that church have times when the parishioners can speak from the pulpit? I don’t know. This would be worth researching.

If this does happen and there are scheduled times for the ordinary parishioners to speak, then her name could be on a “church bulletin” as a scheduled speaker for that Sunday. That would narrow down the search tremendously. I’m just learning to navigate the internet but is it possible that church bulletins would be on the net?

Also in a church that big, there have to have been some “dis-gruntled” former parishioners. Maybe running an “ad” in a local newspaper asking for interviews with former members of the church or something to that effect might be a possibility.

It also might be a good idea for someone to attend current church services and see how they are structured. Also fellowship could be established with perhaps long-time members where an off-the cuff remark could reveal valuable information. I bet the republican party is currently doing this.

The Obamas now are “house-hold” names. Someone even being in church and remembering hearing her speak could help because it would at leastlend credibility to the story and again possibly narrow down a time frame, should someone gain further access to more tapes

I’m with you! I’ve been to that orange place on the web, and there is so much hate and vitriol spewed there, that it’s beyond reason!

I would add that one of the things that I rather LIKE about Larry’s blog is that he does allow varying viewpoints (i.e., the Obama trolls that frequent this blog). Markos has completely lost it since they ban anyone and everyone at that place who doesn’t bow down and kiss Obama’s ring! In short, for the people that want to block the Obamabots, just remember that we are not as petty and small as that orange place.

I can say that I honestly dislike the left-wing authoritarians just as much as the right-wing authoritarians–and that’s one of the reasons that I am having a VERY difficult time finding it within me to support Obama, if he becomes the Democratic nominee. For instance, in John Edwards’ endorsement of Obama in Michigan, over half the crowd booed when Edwards said nice things about Hillary Clinton. This not only demonstrates the authoritarian nature of Obama’s supporters but also shows that Obama has shown very poor leadership of his supporters that such behavior is not only tolerated but is the prevalent reaction in his crowds! From what I have seen, Hillary’s supporters behave far more courteously, which should be no surprise since she appeals more to moderates than the “Golden Boy” does. It’s odd, too, since Hillary’s agenda is actually more progressive than Obama’s agenda.

If the Obamas do not climb off their high horse, this Democrat may just stay home, and I suspect that I will not be alone. I vehemently disagree with those here who believe that McBush is a reasonable alternative. Regardless of what you think about Barack Obama, McBush’s orchestrated support of Bush’s Chamberlain analogy in Israel SHOULD have been enough for EVERYONE here to realize that McBush is NOT an option! Stay home if you must, or write in Hillary, but this talk of supporting McBush is just plain stupid–it’s cutting off your nose to spite your face!

Just taking “this is the first time I am proud of my country” quote and running with it, isn’t the issue. The belief that a black man could ever be president or even a women can be president in this country has always been the unfulfilled dreams of many. It is the hope against hope that so much depends on others “permission” and “readiness” to accept.

However, there is more to the issue here than just this one quote that everyone seems to focus on. It is simply they cannot relate to people and falling back on some sort of moral equivalence argument, drawing parallels of “sameness” were non exists.

The Obama’s are just like us because they too had to pay off Ivy league college loans and made bargains with the devil on a mansion they couldn’t afford. I am sorry, I have no clue about the planet the Obama’s live on. The connection isn’t the sameness of experiences, but the understanding of other’s experiences. One doesn’t have to have a heart attack to understand how to treat it or empathize with the seriousness, fear, and disruption of having one.

Institutionalized racism is an excuse to be disparaging against all whites. Tearing down others in order to feel better about oneself is a character flaw.

If you will watch the video again, she says “for the first time in my adult life I am REALLY proud of my country.” This means that she is proud of her country but now she is exceptionally proud. Hillary is in a “Catch 22″ situation. The way the numbers are, she would HAVE to offer Obama the VP spot if she got the nomination. Otherwise, the party would be in a shambles, and blacks and young people would sit out the election.

Call it what you want, but there needs to be TWO sides to every campaign and politics. If all Americans ever heard were how “nice” or “changey” each and every candidate was, how the hell will they be able to root out the liars from the champions?

Actually, if you look at the last 4 races, it’s been Obama who has been losing major ground in his heretofore coalition.

In PA, he lost ground on age. She whittled out over 45. He lost 2 major upper-income suburbs, one of which was the “artsy” crowd.

In Indiana, she swiped his white male vote.

In WVA, she swiped his youth vote.

His numbers are tanking.
