Auntie got an extension (indefinite) on her stay in the USA. As far as can be determined, Auntie will NEVER be deported for ignoring the USA immigration law and will live "happily ever after" in OBAMACountry.

Other poor and probably more deserving souls have been sent packing; but not Auntie. So much for THE RULE OF LAW so important to the PRECIOUS ONE. The RULE OF LAW for BHO is whatever he damn well wants it to be!

-it seems fair to say that Castro had in mind a more socialist society when he took power.-

what? Background:

-Partido Revolucionario Cubano (Auténtico) {aka Partido Auténtico, PRC} (A): It's program contained socialist and corporatist elements.
-Eduardo Renato Chibás y Ribas: in his youth Chibás had been a member of the Partido Auténtico. In 1947 he branches out and forms the Partido Ortodoxo (or Partido del Pueblo Cubano)-
-Among the young entrants in the Partido Ortodoxo drawn by the charismatic personality and ideas of Chibás was the lawyer Fidel Castro

Castro did not use the word "socialism" in his speeches until 1961. So, in your mind, he wasn't a socialist while planning a revolution with Marxist Che and Socialist Youth member Raul (his top advisers).

“Our revolution is neither capitalist nor communist!.."

that's the anti-imperialist cry of nationalism in Lat. Am. of the left: ni los bolshiviks ni los yanquis.

I like to play word games, and I had a lot of fun with Obummer's name, and initials. Anyone look at the connotation of his initials when spoken as words? B HO. Pretty much says it all for me. Heh.

Um, would Saudi Arabia be considered a tribal region? Women may not drive there, they may not speak to a man they are not related to, they may not go out of the house without being escorted by a male relative, etc. etc. Women in Saudi Arabia are still stoned to death for adultery, even if the "adultery" was because of rape. The head of the Saudi state, King Abdullah, refuses to change any of that. And our president not only has nothing to say about that situation, he actually bows deeply to that very King. Just because a few states that do a lot of business with the West choose to not go that route doesn't mean it's the norm for Muslim countries. You have named three, Lebanon, UAE, and Dubai out of 57 Muslim states. Care to comment on the condition of women in the other 54??

No, he would say it was due to the bigotry of the American people against Muslims. He never misses a chance to put us down as a nation. See, that way he can claim to have elevated the tone of the national conversation by his mere presence in office. Then he would apologize for our narrow-mindedness and promise to make us see the light, whether we like it or not. Sort of like Meechelle saying he was going to put us to work. Which given the number of jobs lost since he took office is rather ironic, to say the least.

There is no mystery about Spam. The company that makes it claims to use every part of the pig except the squeal. The parts usually deemed inedible are what go into Spam. So even though it's not really a mystery meat, it still applies to Obummer. Unpalatable parts squashed into a saleable form. Yup, sounds just like him!!

Given the nature of Batista and the government of Cuba since around the turn of the 20th century, which was right wing totalitarian dictatorship benefiting the capitalists of the United States and the dictator rather than the people of Cuba, it seems fair to say that Castro had in mind a more socialist society when he took power. This is what he said:
"Our revolution is neither capitalist nor communist! ... Capitalism sacrifices the human being, communism with its totalitarian conceptions sacrifices human rights. We agree neither with the one nor with the other ... Our revolution is not red but olive green. It bears the colour of the rebel army from the Sierra Maestra". (Fidel Castro, May 21st. 1959)

As to Elise, who says that I need a history lesson...Google is *your* friend, TOO, dear. American capitalism DOMINATED the Cuban economy extending from the turn of the century until the Cuban revolution and Castro. This is what the Journal of Latin American Studies says: "In 1884, when a collapse in international sugar prices pushed many Cuban sugar mills into bankruptcy, capital from the United States poured into the island, consolidating and modernising the sugar sector. In 1898 Washington's desire to protect these new economic interests contributed to the decision to intervene in Cuba's war of independence. The subsequent US occupation of the island tied its economy ever closer to the United States as US military governors promulgated laws giving US firms concessionary access to the Cuban market. (3) By the late 1920s US firms controlled 75 per cent of the sugar industry, and most of the mines, railroads, and public utilities. (4)

The revolution of 1959 was animated in part by a nationalist desire to reduce Cuba's dependency on the United States"

Maybe the link I provided got my comment thrown off, but it really isn't needed since everyone on nq must remember the interview Hillary did with Steve Kroft hours before the Ohio primary and the media storm following. It was the last time I ever watched Sixty Minutes. Kroft asked her five or more times if she believed Obama was Muslim and she answered "NO" every time. Why did he ask the question and why wasn't one answer good enough for him?

IMO Obama makes really, really stupid comments to pander. It's worked for him all his adult life, but now he is the butt of jokes from real leaders, good and bad, who have obtained their position by virtue of their experience. He knows it isn't necessary with European countries since they are firm allies, but with the marginally important countries in the rest of the world, he doesn't find the easy acceptance so he reverts to what has worked in the past: Sucking up.

The United States of American is a secular nation. Why does anyone have trouble understanding we are not Christian, Muslim or Jewish? The "Father" of our country, George Washington was a Freemason and though Jefferson was raised Episcopalian, in his adult life he was a Deist. The greatest care was taken by Jefferson and others to make it clear this was not going to be a theocracy. The intention was to keep the state (government) separate from any church. Secularism is what has protected protected our democracy and I defy anyone to give me an example of any theocracy ever to be democratic. It is a dichotomy and Americans need to decide if they want to be free or live under a government which imposes religious beliefs. There isn't any middle ground.

JustMe, ya think he was looking to be accepted in his mosque in Indonesia?

BO is a "tag along" and seeks affirmation in the most bizarre fashion.

Hell, even the bigger kids in the hood where he lived in Indonesian, through him in the "creek" (read sewer ditch) for his lonleyness. \

Imagine running home to "mama" stinking so bad he could make a rat have a fainting spell.

Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,Hussein,

Hey Candymarl, that feels good...like bare feet on new carpet.
