Why should the Republicans help the stronger Democratic candidate get the nomination and ruin McCain’s chances? So, instead of salivating over this tape and the damage it might do Barry, let’s dig deep for a few more bucks in donations, and let’s get busy on those phone banks.

A lot of ballots in Oregon haven’t been dropped off yet. There’s a lot of undecided voters and only a little time left to decide. Make some calls and help them decide. She’s gone from 20 points behind to 5 in the polls, while the ballots returned thus far show them neck and neck. So, instead of worrying about this tape, let’s take action to make a difference: Get Out The Vote, and Contribute.

It amazes me the whole Obama campaign is based on the false “hope” he will bring change. Yet we get criticized for having a little hope the video will come out. And Larry Johnson is not some anonymous troll with no credibility. If anyone wants to challenge his credibility they should have the balls to post with their real name since Larry is not hiding from anyone. Larry is a patriot fighting for what he believes in. Another thing don’t get stuck on the narrative. Who says only the repubs have the tape (if it exist). All those years, all those people coming and going through that church. Wright’s tape already came out and if any of you have ever been to a black church, you’d know that usually only pastors or deacons, or other clergy speak. The regular audience do not speak. Michelle Obama does not have a position in that church, so she would not be speaking in it from a pulpit or podium.

If you dislike Obama, then you have a choice. Don’t vote Democrat. Vote for McCain, or if you’re in the remaining states for the primaries, vote for Hillary then. I just want to reply to the obamabot from the previous thread that knows what Michelle actually meant. Here is another piece of information that you might not be privy to. Both Michelle and Barrack are both highly sophisticated Ivy league trained lawyers. They know exactly what the hell they are saying at all times. The problem is that while they worked diligently to get their degrees both are actually as dumb as a box of rocks.

When Michelle said that this was the first time she was proud of this country she damned well meant it. She didn’t stutter or have any loss for words. She wasn’t taken out of context either.

When Obama called us typical white people who knew what the hell he was saying. When they called us racists, they knew what the hell they were saying. When he goes onstage with Donnie McClurkin he knows what he is doing. When he says that we cling to our religion and guns he knows damned well what he is saying.

And here is where you should get the clue. We know what the fuck he saying and meaning. Despite your claims to the contrary that we are all somehow simple, redneck racists we understand the score pretty damned well. It is you and yours who should reassess this meme you have about us Hillary democrats. Your ideas are what is in error. Not ours.

People keep saying how great of a campaign that Obama has ran but frankly if you can alienate a very left wing liberal such as myself then you have ran a terrible and I mean terrible campaign. My vote was never in question. Now it is irrevocably gone. I used to think Obama was a good alternative if Hillary did not win, but now that I’ve gotten to know him better, I absolutely cannot support him. This has nothing to do with race on my part. If there is anything that the Republicans could use again any Democratic candidate that would seal the deal for McCain, of course, it is better to find out before that candidate is nominated. The loss is much greater now that the Democratic Party has an extraordinary candidate who has the ability to transform our country such as we have not had in our lifetime, and she isn’t the one spouting Axelrod’s Hope+Change(TM) ad campaign.

I think the Wright association itself is a deal breaker. Ophra was savvy enough to leave Trinity because she knew she needed to appeal to a mainstream audience. After 20 years, Obama still hadn’t figured that out. Imagine if Hillary went to a woman-centric church or McCain to a white racist church.

After being involved with Rezko for 17 years when your constituents are being taken advantage of by him –you receive a $1000 check for your next campaign but poor, mostly black tenants have gone all winter without heat because Rezko’s company is broke). And when all of Chicago knew Rezko was about to be indicted for influence peddling, Obama goes into a deal to buy a house he otherwise can’t afford. And that’s all this is–just gossip. But very smart gossip–politically speaking–because it smears Obama (and his wife) and at the same time foists the blame for that smear onto the GOP. So it’s sort of a “two-fer.”

Whether any of this gossip actually ever pans out is irrelevant, because the gossip itself will reinforce the opinions of many of those who are already inclined to dislike Obama and/or Republicans. This gossip is especially effective because it feeds off of and into widely accepted pre-existing narratives about Obama and the GOP.

The most powerful gossip is the lie that folks want to believe, the lie they already believe before it is even spoken.

By way of full disclosure, one last admission then I’ll get out of your hair: As a right-winger, I would much prefer Hillary to Obama, because–notwithstanding Hillary’s dirty tricks–I do think that in the end she has the nation’s best interest at heart. She’s quite tough, and will be able to unite the people behind her in the war against the Islamists. Indeed, I am inclined to prefer her to McCain because the Dems would allow her a freer hand to fight that war, both in Iraq and elsewhere(and make no mistake, she would fight it to win it), whereas those same Dems, who would let Hillary fight to win, would hound McCain’s ever move and prevent him from winning.

By contrast with Hillary, I think Obama has some serious, deep, and unresolved personal psychic issues relating to his own racial identity and that his unresolved anger about those identity issues could play out in a way that would be catastrophic for the country. At some level, Obama would not mind if the United States were “punished” for the wrongs it has perpetrated upon him and his people. One should beware of a leader so obviously narcissistic as Obama, because within every narcissist is a anger-filled soul waiting for and wanting a chance to “make them all sorry for what they’ve done.” Thus, the oft-heard line about the Obama kool-aid-drinkers is almost literally right on the mark.

And it only takes a moment to send a note to the RNC. There is no harm in asking them to be patriotic. It is my opinion the entire country minus the Obama supporters is uniting against him.

And the Obama supporting Democrats don’t think like that either. They put hope before rational thinking and what is best for our country in my opinion.

CB, back in the days when I was watching C-SPAN’s morning call in show, they had an AA guy call in from Chicago’s South Side. This guy said that Obama was no friend to the poor blacks in Chi-town.
He said Obama wouldn’t even appear in the poor places in town because it was deemed a security risk. So what happened to the voices like this guys? But it’s equally plausible that the simplest explanation is true. That being the explanation Larry gave us.

Hillary’s people are probably very gun shy about digging for dirt. Whether they were behind the release of the “Muslim garb” picture a few months back or not, they took the blame for it. Now that she’s closing in, pushing past him in the popular vote, it stands to reason that they don’t want to go back down the ‘negativity’ path and feed into the media’s existing narrative.

So that does leave Republicans. They’ve already started running ads featuring Rev. Wright and Michelle Obama. Local GOP offices like those in North Carolina and now the linked ad in Tennessee. This is their angle, whereas Clinton’s focus has been to hammer home about whose votes Obama can’t get.

And it also stands to reason that the GOP would be withholding such a video until October when it would send Obama reeling and give them little time to try to recover. They probably realize Clinton’s cross-over appeal to (some) Republican women and independents, so they are in no hurry to help wound the weaker of the two Dem candidates just yet.

Plus, Larry isn’t stupid. It’s probably safe to assume that he’s reaching out across his network of contacts and not just taking one person’s word for it. The fact that he’s accumulated additional sources since first running the story is a testament to that.

So basically, it’s fair to take this report with a grain of salt. But it isn’t fair to toss it out offhand because it seems too convenient. Maybe it fits the pattern (attendance for 20 yrs in Rev Wright’s church, planning a year in advance to dump Wright when it became necessary, Michelle’s thesis, etc) because they really do have an axe to grind with white people.

I agree with the part about his confusion about his racial identity. I spotted that up front. How that would play out with him as POTUS is scary. But I like to think the US Constitution is more than a piece of paper and that checks & balances are a real deterant. But then again, we’re knee deep in an Iraq war shit fest, so there goes that theory.

Now the part about this just being gossip is très interessant. Maybe I believe it because I want to. But my psychic side believes this: that GOP has more than this up their sleeve. They’ve already seen that the Dems and many Obama supporters in collusion with the msm let Obama out of 2 already racial incidents with Wright. I’m sure the mindset is that this could also be a wash and that people will again revisit all the slings and arrows of racism and let Obama live to see another day. They hate the Clintons this much.

I suspect, however, that they have back-up goods, long after Hillary is gone, that will, in fact, be their October surprise and from which will mean the point of no return for Obama.

And, my psychic senses tell me it won’t have anything to do with racism or sexuality.

I think your analysis is reasonable, too. And although this as-yet-unseen tape of Mrs. O does seem rather too convenient both in its unavailability and in its purported provenance, I don’t at all doubt that there’s something not-too-disimilar floating around out there somewhere.

Speaking as a conservative who talks to lots of conservatives, let me give you some insight into our thinking on these subjects. Yes, it’s true we think Hillary would be a stronger candidate than Obama in the general election. But we also think McCain is likely to defeat either of your guys. We think McCain has about a 3 to 2 odds of beating Hillary and a 4 to 1 or better shot at beating Obama–as long as the economy doesn’t go all the way into the tank before election day.

Here’s why we think McCain will win, and why we’d rather see Hillary running on your side, even though she’s a stronger candidate than Obama:

Why we think we’ll win: The mistake you Dems made in your nomination process was that you figured that, because Bush is so highly unpopular, you absolutely could not lose in 2008. But, oops, you sorta kinda forgot that you wouldn’t be running against Bush in 2008. While you were still in that happy mode of thinking you couldn’t possibly lose, you thought you therefore had the luxury to nominate whoever ran you the nicest tingle up your leg. Or to put things less teasingly, you allowed yourselves for too long to indulge the very noble fantasy of nominating either the first black or the first female from a major party as your candidate for president–without seeing that both of those candidates have very serious electoral disabilities, not the least of which electoral disabilities is that one is a woman and the other is black. I’m not talking about how good and nice and qualified your candidates are. I’m talking about how electable they are. You’re now finally starting to wake up and realize that you aren’t running against Bush and that you very easily could lose this dern thing, but you’re so trapped in the anti-Bush mode that your two prong strategy is (1) to try to convince voters that McCain is really Bush and (2) to chant non-stop for change. Anti-Everything-Bush and Change–that’s your two pronged strategy for the White House. Yes, there’s lots of other details you can feed to the 5% who are politics wonks, but Anti-Bush and Change is the main thing that you will get through to 95% of voters.

Unfortunately for you Dems, on your first prong, the only issue where you can really tie McCain to Bush is Iraq. Just like Bush, McCain says he’s going to gut it out and win the war. But unlike Bush, when it comes to successfully gutting it out in war, McCain has an impressive credibility by virtue of his actions in a certain place called Vietnam. By contrast, your two candidates say they are definitely going to give up on Iraq, which again reminds folks of that certain place called Vietnam, as to which the left’s contribution to the way that war ended is not something most Americans recollect with admiration (Contrary to what some pot-stewed old hippies might still think, recollecting images such as Jane Fonda simulating firing enemey AAA at US pilots does not warm voters’ hearts toward the left). Given the two options of gutting it out or cutting and running, the majority of the American people will say, “I’m with that tough SOB who says we can and will win.” So Iraq, which is the only issue where you can clearly tie McCain to Bush, is a net positive for McCain. McCain will be thrilled to talk about nothing but Iraq all day every day between now and the election if your Dems are foolish enough to have that conversation.

Now your other prong of your strategy is “change.” And for sure democratic peoples do like a dose of change now and then. But not too much change. McCain can point to his record of disagreeing with Bush and the GOP on a lot of issues, even to the point that many GOPers are downright fed up with him. So most people will recognize that McCain is not Bush, and that a switch from Bush to McCain is a change–a real change, but not a frightening change. However, another switch from a Bush to a Clinton looks a lot like a “change” we already tried. That’s not change. That’s a “been there done that” cycle the repition of which would resemble mental illness on a national scale. We’ve had enough of the Bushes, but we’ve also had enough of the Clintons, too. And that’s why Obana’s “change” mantra works so well against Hillary. But it won’t work for Obama against McCain. Yes, a switch from a Bush to Obama would be a definite change, a radical change–too radical for most voters. Obama-style change is just too unknown, too scary–especially when you think about the kind of folks Obama hangs out with. A switch from Bush to McCain feels about right–a change voters can understand, absorb, feel safe and comfortable with, live with.

So the change mantra actually plays out in McCain’s favor against either Clinton or Obama. Obama-change is too much scarey change. Hillary-change is just the same old Clintons. McCain-change is just right.

Why we’d rather run against Hillary, even though she has a better chance of beating McCain: Even though we feel confident that McCain would defeat either Hillary or Obama, we also know that a lot could happen between now and election day. McCain is no sure-winner against either of your guys. The aforementioned precarious economy could go right into the tank. McCain himself could drop dead tomorrow. However, we think Obama, if elected, would be such a disaster–not just for us, but for the country–that we would rather see Hillary running on your side even though she has a better shot a beating our guy. The smaller chance of Obama defeating McCain entails such great risk for the country, if he did happen to win, that we’d rather face the greater possibility of Hillary beating McCain. If worst came to worst, we conservatives feel like we could live with a Hillary presidency. We survived her husband; we can survive her.

As I indicated in my earlier post, to many of us conservatives (at least those of us who can allow themselves to think objectively), Hillary would not be that much worse than McCain, and maybe not as bad in actual effect. In case you hadn’t noticed, we conservatives are not fond of McCain. From our point of view, he’s been pretty much wrong on every important issue except the war and abortion, and we don’t particularly trust him on the latter issue, especially where judicial appointments are concerned. Indeed, as president, McCain might succeed in moving the country further left than could Hillary could because conservatives would find it difficult to unite to stop him when he started on one of his predictable usual leftward drifts. However, if a President Hillary tried to push the exact same agenda, conservatives would easily and quickly unite to limit her movement. Because conservatives would intantly rally together to oppose Hillary, but would be fractured if they tried to oppose McCain, the exact same left-leaning policy would have more success if pushed by a President McCain than if pushed by a Presdient Hillary. Recollect that it was Bill Clinton who got both NAFTA and welfare reform enacted, two legislative victories that a GOP president could never have gotten through congress. It is often the case that a left-leaning president has more legislative success when he moves right, and a right-leaning president has more success when he moves left. In actual fact, McCain would probably do more legislative damage to the conservative agenda than could Hillary, and I’m not at all sure his judicial appointees would be any better than hers.

So the ulitimate point of this long ramble is: If we had some good video that would help stop Obama in his tracks right now, we wouldn’t sit on it until he was anohter step closer to the White House. We’d have it out there now, and be happy to take our chances with Hillary in the fall. Come November, if she’s on the ballot, I will seriously consider voting for her, just like I already did in the Democratic primary here in Texas. I’m starting to like Hillary–a little– honest. I really do admire her fighting spirit in the face of the relentless obituary-writing the MSM has been giving the last couple of weeks. I guess maybe I’m starting to think of her as a kindred spirit because maybe now she undertands the treatment we conservatives get from the MSM 24-7-52-year in and year out.

And it also stands to reason that the GOP would be withholding such a video until October when it would send Obama reeling and give them little time to try to recover.

It’s also released in October, to take a stab at the Commies “October Revolution” celebration.

But the real reason is it’ll be too late to recover from the damage. The coup de grace is reserved for the very end, so the burial would be done before November.

It’s hard for supporters, since October is a long way off and does nothing to stop Obama’s nomination, but revenge is best served on a silver platter and at -429 degrees cold.

By how Obama is acting of late — all his speeches are in nervous staccato — could be he also knows what’s coming up. It could explain why he’s so crazy to coronate himself so early, hoping folks will just conclude it’s over, and give him the nomination (he’s used to freebies anyway, so it’s natural for him to be “entitled” to another one).

Obama is going to be the most despised Dem since Carter and Dukakis at this rate.

Perhaps the twenty somethings and younger picked up their dislike for the Clintons from the nasty media during the 90s(because dislike or hatred seems to be directed at both Bill and Hillary). The GOP was out to get the Clintons and they were hounded almost continually — it was 8 years of bad press. Meanwhile the parents of this group (20-something etc) know that they did better money-wise when Clinton was President.

Voters in Mass. went for Hillary, overwhelmingly. Making Kennedy and Kerry look like two stupid jerks for supporting Obama.

It is a very long time before that DEM convention in August. Although progress in exposing Obama as a fraud seems to be going at a snails pace — momentum seems to be growing against his useless, meaningless “message”.

We have Major Problems, the economy is probably at the top of most people’s list — Obama has NO solutions — nothing original to offer. That’s probably one of the major reasons why Obama lost so convincingly in WV.

Many individuals over the years carried camcorders and recording devices into Trinity, besides the official Trinity vids for sale bought by the media.

Those tapes with damaging footage do exist and have been and will continue to be sold to the highest bidder. If anyone thinks there will not be enough footage of the obama’s at worship in the hellbent church of hatred that will destroy him for good – then think again.

He was a high profile figure at that church and in Chicago and his lack of judgment and willingness to sell his soul and pay for play all along was caught by people who would sell him down river for a buck.

That there is video is certain. When it will come out is all that is in doubt.

This is an interesting piece. I’ve read a lot of the comments and there are some well thought out comments. I posted a link to this story on my blog. Considering MO’s other comments it would not suprise me if such a tape existed. I would like to see it if it did. I took another posters advice and emailed Hannity. I do believe Hannity has something else. I heard him make a comment about other tapes after he released started the Wright controversy.

At one time I could live with Obama if he was the nominee, but there have been just so many questions raised about his character. I pleaded with Hannity to take the route of an American and if he had the tape to release it now. Hannity is a Republican but he is an American first. I am a repub and I must say that if anyone had told me a year ago, that some day I might actually like Hillary Clinton, I would have laughed. I have been a strong opponent, sorry guys!….but…truth is, I am warming up to her lately. I believe that in a general election, I would still vote for McCain (wasn’t my first choice either), but if Hillary beat him, I wouldn’t cry like I would if oBUMa won.

Even more hair-raising is the connection to two Iraqi billionaires, one who provided Rezko with the money to help buy Obama’s house, and the former Minister of Electricity who is living in Illinois, even though he’s wanted by Interpol. Hillary does have the momentum. It may end up and serve McCain, but one thing I know. The Democrats are toast.

I could argue that I think you under estimate the number of people who are interested in ending the war in Iraq (or at least scaling it back), but that’s a debate neither of us could win decisively.

My concern is that there are more Republicans out there that are more interested in winning than with having their interests served. I know there are plenty of Dems like that, Obama’s popularity brings that into perfect clarity.

So while I agree with your analysis, that Clinton would inevitably face more opposition in pushing liberal legislation, that comes back to the fact that there are a lot of Republicans in Congress that would resist simply out of partisanship. Whether the legislation she’d push for is a decent compromise or not (and she has crossed the aisle to work with Republicans to get things done), it’d would be in their best interests to fight her. Their constituency would want to see them “stick it” to a Clinton.

It’s the same knee-jerk partisanship we’re seeing from Obamanites that their guy simply MUST be better than McCain simply because Obama isn’t a Republican. And some Dems have gone for it (see: super delegates and orgs like NARAL that have endorsed him).

Those are the Republicans that I would expect to have such a tape of Michelle Obama. The people that just want a Republican to win in November, regardless of McCain’s lukewarm conservatism. So they would be likely to hold it until it is it’s most lethal. Namely, if Obama wins the nomination and there’s only a few weeks before the GE.

Either of us could be right, we don’t know if there even is a video, let alone if the Republicans have it and which kind of Republicans have it.

I live in NEPA after a lifetime in NYC. I have heard the blowback from obama’s attitude and his supporters tactics here through word of mouth and on local radio shows all along. The radio show has been popular here and I’m very glad it is getting the national attention it deserves.

Steve is the real deal and he knows ob will need a miracle to get 20 percent of the NEPA vote.

Hillary country will turn to McCain country due to the bad impression obama left with voters due to his campaign tactics here. The supporter thugs were out in large numbers doing their strong-arming and came in by the bus loads from out of state. It was really ugly here and I’m sure that impression was felt across the country in many small towns. It was radical and hostile.
