    This doesn’t make sense because if it is a “conservative” billionaire that is looking to buy the tape to bring out now then he is looking to knock Obama out of the race. For what? So the stronger candidate Hillary, who is also liberal, would be the nominee??? That’s the part that doesn’t make sense. Why would a conservative want Hillary to have the nomination, just because he doesn’t like John McCain? Even though Hill is a more valid centrist than Snobama she is still a liberal which is the opposite of what a true conservative would want as a President. Bringing the tape out now wouldn’t do anything to McCain, just Obama and the Democrats. Does he want to create a total and final schism within the Democratic umbrella because even though the DNC hasn’t recognized it, its already happened. Is the motive because Obama is way too far left and they’d really like to crush him now so they can essentially let Obamites vent on Hillary’s continued presense which would keep them off McCain? Food for thought or barking up the wrong tree.

      yheitman — it makes sense when you look at what the Democrats have done to one of their candidates. To alot of Republicans McCain is not a true conservative so they would rather he go down to Hillary than be the lesser of two evils. The problem with the two political parties are their wings.

      McCain is despised by a large section of the GOP and some of them openly want Hillary to defeat him.

      The video would derail the Obama nomination and put Hillary at the forefront. Or so goes the thinking.

      Whether the DNC and SD’s panics and dumps Barky as a result is anybody’s guess. They may hate Hillary so much they don’t care if Barky takes down the DP if he stays on the ticket.

      Because one thing I’ve noticed that Hillary has very little support from the Democratic establishment.

      They don’t like her.

      Voters do, but is it enough to sway the kool-aid drinkers in the DNC and SD’s.

        many of them are not anti-hillary at all, they admire hillary but are going with the party unity early idea and are backing him due to pressure.

        some of them are idiots who drank kool aid and are posting to the orange satan.

        some of them are voting along race lines even though they have long been hill supporters in the past.

        some are from illinois or other locations he won and are voting for that reason alone – political and constituent pressue.

        some are voting against their own judgment because their state chairman is in the tank for ob

        lots of reasons.

        she was up over 130 delegates at one point. one big freakin story and his house of cards collapses… and they mutiny back to her.

        his hope fund bought some of them, but for how long will they be loyal to him and what is the deal they cut with him.

        his association with some of them can clearly hurt them when they are up for reelection…
        they are just looking for a reason to bail.

        none of the delegates are pledged and all the media against her will not change them if they want to swing her way in the end.

        the lady in the pantsuit is still relevant and in play and it ain’t over till the confetti drops.

      The problem is believing the motive. The motive is irrelevant because we will not know the motive until or if the person gets the video. The person can claim any motive prior to getting the video and then use it a different way.

      My guess is that if there is a damaging video it will be used by Repubs in the Fall campaign to secure a Repub win.

      As the old saying goes, “Politics makes strange bed fellows.” Those on the right wing who dislike McCain want to scuttle the Republican ship this year. It is not that they believe Hilary would do a better job than McCain. Rather they believe that it would be better for the Republican partry to lose and then come back strong with a more conservative candidate, than to allow McCain to take over the party. Although, if you ask me, giving Hilary the presidency for 4 years would be far worse than having McCain fighting tax increases and cutting spending. Let us not forget about the Supreme Court people!

      This tape deal is like BO’s outstanding ability to “community orginize” all those poor freezing people in the 313. Either way you play it, it’s not good.

      The Obama campaign knows exactly which tapes Mr Johnson is talking about. Michelle knows;I bet 1000 feet of my best 20 lb test kite string on it.

      The second one requires some remote viewing and will take a bit to sort through.

        Yep. The Tribune-Review endorsed Hillary. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh’s main paper, the Post-Gazette endorsed Obama. It was the oddest endorsement I’d ever read, namely because it went on for several paragraphs about how wonderful Hillary is, citing her strengths and positive record, then in the final paragraph it basically said, “but we’re endorsing Obama anyway because our chief editors drank the Kool-Aide.”

        Hillary can appeal to a large swath of voters. If you value the bottomline, like many GOPers do, you can’t discount Hillary wholesale.

        The GOP knew that Hillary would be a challenge, they just never knew she’d appeal to their own base of voters.

        Remember reading years ago that when the Clintons were first in office, Jackie came over to address the issue of children in the White House (probably another reason Chelsea grew up fine). Maybe Jackie gave Hillary some other tips, as well…just wished she would have a fashion designer to help her, at least dress up her pantsuits (they can be made more stylish, and even create a fashion in itself). Even Ms. Coal Miner likes to dress up when going out.

    See I could see someone like Scaife doing this. He is a conservative who couldn’t stand Hillary until he met her and did a 180 because he found that she is a woman of substance. He ended up endorsing her and he may well be behind this.

      It’s certainly more than “National Enquirer” or Murdoch’s “Globe” would pay, too. The networks are cheapskates, and most refuse paying for material (despite they make a profit for airing it — why I’m not interested in the I-Report stuff, where folks would even lose creative rights).

      A million bucks is too small an amount. Only a fool bids high first. Everyone has a price. Just watch people in every day life. I’ve seen people who claimed to be moral, upstanding family people sell their children out for much less. If people will sell out their blood, they will certainly sell out a nation or political operatives with whom they have no real relations.

      The ultra-wealthy have no allegiances because they don’t have to keep them for survival like the rest of us.

        if there was a high percentage of positives for her and i had one tiny bit of negative to throw possible fuel on the fire then no, not for a million. if there was a high percentage of negatives already and this would just be another drop in the bucket then absolutely i would.

        for obama it isn’t swiftboating it is telling it like it is and a service to the country to out him… i’d do it for FREE if i had it.

          Sometimes it IS more than race.

Don’t need the tape, thanks anyway. As for McCain, he seems to be just a garden variety socialist with little understanding/regard for the constitution. Remember McCain Fiengold/first amendment? Some “choice.” At this point, I’m ashamed of both major parties. The Dems can’t even run a primary without serious screw ups (Florida/Michigan); and they have the audacity to ask us to select them to run the country? Get real.

    At this point, I have no idea if any of this is real, but whatever is out there, it will probably come out soon. Face it, people would sell out their own family members for less than a million. Of course they will sell out a politician, especially one that has thrown Wright under the bus.

    I did it today. I had it up to here with the DNC and Howard Stupid Dean so i called them up today and i cancel my membership and i asked for my $1000 annual contribution back.

    I was on the phone with them for about 45 minutes and they passed me from one guy to another. They were totally shocked that i asked them to refund my contribution. I talked to the senior deputy to the finance chairman of the DNC. He tried to tell me that RNC has been out-raising the DNC 2-1 and that we need all good democrats to participate and donate and i told him, “I am willing to write another $1000 check right now if you guarantee me that you would respect the will and the votes of the Floridians and respect the result of the Florida primary held Jan 29?” And he said, well there is a meeting on the 31st of May and i can assure that the DNC will find a fair solution to Florida and Michigan and that they will seated blablablab. And i told him that Senator Clinton is going to get shafted in that meeting and i know it and you know it, but she will accept the verdict because she is a good team player. However, i don’t have to accept that and i am leaving the party and i need my money please.

It happened at the receptions prior to the dinner and left more than one onlooker shaking his head at the strangeness of it all.

      If the reports are that Hillary won the townhall meeting even in Portland. Anything is up for grabs.

      Obama works the best in cities, and if he starts losing there, there’s no return for him. He’ll even have lost the urban group.

      America likes it’s “American Idol”, and they just may vote to keep the show going all the way to the very end.

      Can you imagine the fallback of an “American Idol” contestant that said, weeks before the final round, “I’m the winner!”? The arrogance would cost him his chances. This maybe what Obama is facing now — never say it’s over until it’s over, as even Yogi said it!

      ARG had her within 5 points. Real Clear Politics isn’t even listing that poll, however, on their site.

      I know they were off by 6 in Indiana, but they were very close in WVA.

      So RCP average is 12 points right now, I think, for Obama in Oregon.

      He’s reportedly not even going to show up there. He’s going back to Iowa to announce he’s won the nomination.

    User 312 over at HillaryClintonForum.net is starting a new “I won’t vote for BO” group at the DNC website. I just joined and hope you will too. :-) Here’s his entry at HCFN:

    DIRVAO United founded today because the DNC, pundits, and MSM don’t believe that many Hillary supporters will not vote for Obama in the General Election.

    DIRVAO United is new group formed on the DNC website, yep I’m gonna work right under their noses, to make it as clear as possible that we are serious. I don’t know if, or for how long, they will allow it but we will see.

    The main purpose is to build a large membership in the group. Hopefully large enough to draw their attention. I’ll blog and post things to the group, etc.

    This is not meant to detract from the forum here. This is, and should remain the primary forum for us.

    I basically just need those of you who are not going to vote for Obama if he’s the nominee to join this group (for the numbers). And if not many join, I’ll just shut it down.

          I think you should vote for the person whose platform and beliefs are closest to yours.

          Eight years ago and then four years ago, I was so rude to everyone who said they were voting for Nader. I took it as one vote less for Gore and then Kerry. Now I realize that it was sheer party driven dogma loyalty that I was espousing. Every American gets one vote for President every four years and it is their right and duty to cast it as they personally see fit. What this election cycle has done for me is open my eyes. As a woman, I have toed the line for every male candidate regardless of how “electable” they were. We now have the most electable candidate of all three who happens to be a woman. Rather than support her, the boyz are supporting the least qualified of the three. So. No more Ms. Nicegirl. If Hillary Clinton is not my option, I will go for number two in qualification and experience. And that is John Sidney McCain. I couldn’t honestly vote for Obama to be Governor of Ohio much less President of the US. He’s too interested in selling America to the highest bidder … starting with the health care industry and moving along to the finance and Wall Street firms.

    What do we know about him? Really everything about him has been quickly manufactured.     Intially when I first saw and listened to Obama, I was very impressed. He is the best public speaker running for the Presidency since Ronald Reagan. I even consider voting for him. However as I learned about his Tony Recko helping him with buying his house. Using Federal money to get his wife hospital a million dollar earmark and soon afterward his wife got a 200k raise. His connection with Robert Backwell where his recieved 8k per month on his payroll and he later got State money grants for Backwell company. I saw that this man has no problem with using goverment money and his polictical connections to enrich himself. Now throw in Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and his other radical friends and supporters. I went from being impressed by Mr. Obama to radically opposed.

    I am not a fan of Hillary Clinton. However this country has many many problems that need to be addressed. If Obama is the nominee, this fall election rather than being a election addressing this nations problems. It’s going be addressing Mr. Obama scandals. Obama is not uniting this country, he is dividing it and he is dividing his own party. Hillary Clinton is the better Candidate for the Democratic Party.

    I hope this tape come out before the Democratic Convention if it exists and Obama is forced to step down. So that in November this country can have a election with the issues and problems can be discussed. And the best candidate can be elected by this Country. Be it Hillory Clinton or John McCain.

      It’s been this way on the blogs all year, it was reported over and over in the caucuses, and now it’s not hidden since these are the people who were at the caucuses bullying out Hillary voters.

      It’s now going to be on TV.

      Frankly, I think the percentage of people who are going to walk away from this party is going to be much higher than the original exit polls showed: 22-28%.

      I think it’s going to end up looking a lot more like WVA when people start seeing this behavior on TV.

    So if you read the rules adopted by the rules committee previously, it states that if the state legislature changes the primary dates but the states make a good faith effort to resolve the problem (for example offering a redo) the delegations will be seated. So in fact both, Florida and Michigan attempted to make a good faith effort to redo but the obama people stopped it. I admit people like Bob Shurm, Kerry, Kennedy, Brazile and the Obama people might not have read the rules but there they are…so what will happen who knows how many of the rules committe have drunk the kool-aid but I believe that legal minds on the committee might just have to seat the delegations.

        Good point. I think it’s important to acknowledge their tactics, though. It’s in Obama’s interest to dampen our enthusiasm. That’s why we keep seeing words like “accept” and “inevitable.”

        It’s also in Obama’s interest to suppress the voter turn out. “If you won’t vote for Obama, don’t vote for McCain” is a part of long range strategy. If they can’t make us vote for Obama, they want us to stay home.

Polls are showing that anywhere from 35-60% of Hillary’s supporters are willing to defect in the event that Obama is the nominee. That means at least 5-9 million Hillary supporters will be the huge shift in power this year and anything these Obamalamas are trying to force-feed us is fruitless against 5-9 million potential defectors.

    WE are strong in both number, mind-power, will, and courage and we WILL make this country hear us loud and clear.

    My father-in-law (an active Republican and NRA member) retired to Jacksonville Florida. I went shooting with him when I visited two months ago. The guys at his gun club (knowing I was from NY) asked me what I thought of Hillary.

    Turns out my f-i-l’s buddies hated McCain. Some of them are exmilitary. They wanted the option of voting for Hillary. Some of my f-i-l’s conservative pals think McCain is a “marxist” which I don’t get at all.

    My point is, McCain has weaknesses within his own party. None of the Republicans I know will vote for Obama. Clinton, maybe. A Clinton candicacy could win based on some new alliances, among other things.

      Clinton Supporters Count Too! – will boycott NBC and its affiliates on Primary Election Night (as well as protest at their studios) and will vote McCain if Obama is nominee, will also work to bring down any superdelegates who support Obama – the clearly far inexperienced and unelectable candidate, thereby not performing their duty to the party so they need to be ousted. Also, will concentrate resources in the main swing states that determine all elections: OH, PA, MI, and FL. Calling also for seating of delegates from MI and FL, to stop the misogyny and overt sexism, media fairness and accountability.

      Nationally – Steve Corbett of WILK-FM radio in PA is calling for
      Operation Turn-Down Obama. Will not vote for him if he is the nominee, renounce Democratic Party and become an Independent.

    I DO know that I’ve already located one SD who went for Obama from CA whose area came in strong for Hillary. It’s a guy, too.

    I think I’m going to focus on seeing what women are out there and support some grass-roots efforts to get this guy out.

    My initial thought is not to vote for president at all and focus on the down-ticket.

    But I’m leaning to McCain. He’s always been an interesting fellow to me.

    I know that the VP position won’t make any difference to me regarding Obama.

    McCain has done more for the country in his 30+ years of national and public service than Obama in his 1 true fully year of Senate experience and that is a plain fact. Mccain is far stronger than Obama on Foreign and Homeland Security policies, + has the know how to get good legislation passed. Also, he is a centrist. He isn’t a radical left-winger like Obama, and he isn’t as far right as Bush. He has proven through a lifetime of work that he can swing both ways and find compromise where there is none to be had.

    Of course, it is for many of these similar reasons and the fact that Hillary is by far the most intelligent, resourceful, strong, and persistent candidate that I support Hillary, but I find many of the same amiable and patriotic qualities in Hillary as in McCain but which I fail to see in that phony Obama who you seem to support.

    It’s bigger than a breadbox. This is the year we all really got to see what’s what in our own party, how ignorant some of them really are, how depraved others are, how they apply dual standards and don’t even blush.

    It’s really all for the good of the country that we see this.

    This party is shot through and through with hypocrites.

    We’re actually pretty interested in connections more than disconnections. I have no problem with any Republican. That’s bi-partisanship, btw.

    I’ve decided that my 30 year straight-ticket Democratic vote record has hidden a secret weakness on my part: I never really paid attention to any good, solid-thinking Republican. And that was lazy on my part.

    No more. I do not care about the label. I’ll vote my conscience, and I vow to do a better job researching the candidates.

    I want to weed out the hypocrites. And all this partisanship has obviously been to my own party’s detriment. It’s clearly filled with self-serving politicos who think I’m stupid.

    No more.

    I’m not backing that crap one more day.

    So, Republican, Green, Libertarian, Democrat….all are welcome to me.

    Let’s hear about ideas, solutions, and let’s see the real quality of character through the actions. That’s how I knew I wouldn’t support Obama. NAFTA? Oh boy, that was an eye-opener. I had figured him for a crass liar, but that deal? Sealed it.

    So I think I may be riding the true unity pony.

    And that means I’ll vote for good, solid and moderate Republicans as well as good, solid moderate Democrats.

    Either fringe side need not bother to apply for my vote. :)
