That’s because YOU ARE WRONG. Hillary got her start on the coattails of…Hillary. Bill didn’t even know her when she was chosen to give her highly acclaimed commencement speech at Wellesley, and then to go on to Yale Law School. Did he have anything to do with her stallar academic career, and then her groundbreaking work with the Children’s Defense Fund, or her being chosen one of the best 100 lawyers in America–twice? Read something about her 30 years of deep and broad public service work. Your attitude is the epitome of sexism: she didn’t earn it herself–Bill paved the way. If you watched any of the debates, you would know this is nonsense. Hillary is not second best to anyone.

Look, you are saying exactly what I am saying but in a different way. I said that Bill Clinton was ego driven, that he had a massive need for the kind of spotlight that high political office provided him, something that Hillary Clinton MAY not have had in the beginning. You seem not to understand that I am arguing that he may have had a NEED that she MAY not have had. OK, let me ask try to make my point in a slightly different way. Can you imagine Bill Clinton losing a primary as Hillary did and THEN having the courage and desire to serve his nation that Hillary demonstrated? While there is still much to be admired about Bill, finally, it was his arrogance, his huburis that destroyed his presidency. In addition, many people believe that she is smarter than he is.

I agree with pm317- it’s hard to imagine George asking Joe Biden the same thing, even though it probably could be an appropriate question given Biden is VP and essentially isn’t responsible for anything whatsoever, regardless of what the media think. Nonetheless, George labels Biden part of the “high-powered team.” It almost sounds as though George doesn’t think Clinton is really even part of that team and he is essentially asking her to demonstrate/prove that she is.

I also think he was trying to play off the media’s ongoing obsession with the idea that Hillary will be absolutely incapable of getting along with other high-ranking members of the administration (you know, because she’s a b*tch and an egomaniac) despite absolutely no evidence at all that that is the case.

You should read the biography of Bill Clinton, specifically the beginning of his political career in Arkansas. After Bill lost the governorship after only one term, he became very depressed and laid on the couch and felt sorry for himself. He lost all of that drive you speak about. It was Hillary’s drive that got him to stop feeling sorry for himself.

First and foremost, Bill is not disciplined. You absolutely must have discipline in order to win political office and Bill’s first defeat really did him in. It was Hillary who got him off the couch and ran his campaign the second time around. Funny thing, many men don’t want to give her credit for his success but they have no problem blaming her for his bad behavior! In fact, during the South Carolina primary Bill made some statements about Jessie Jackson, which hurt Hillary, and because of this, had to fade back into the shadows more because what his words being be used against her!

Despite all of this, she still won every major primary and was the people’s choice by winning the popular vote. It was Bill who ultimately made things more difficult for Hillary because of our misognynistic nation and a huge double standard when it comes to women running for office.
