Barack Obama, Foreign Policy Lightweight

This is more than a gaffe. This is inexcusable. And yet, despite a mistake that would disqualify any other presidential aspirant, Barack is getting the kid glove treatment. If this continues, it will be to our nation’s peril. Here is the video of Barack’s comments last week in Cape Girardeau, Missouri talking about the situation in Afghanistan.
Jesus Christ!! The man thinks that we are in trouble in Afghanistan because we have a limited number of Arabic translators and they are tied up in Iraq. Arabic is not the language of Afghanistan. Pushto and Dari Persian are the main languages. If you didn’t realize that Arabic is not the mother tongue in Kabul, no big deal–you ain’t running for President.
But a man who has been running for President for more than one year must know these facts cold. A man who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and chairs the subcommittee with responsibility for NATO, who is playing a major role on the ground in Afghanistan, must know this information. A man who touts his superior judgment on the war in Iraq, but does not understand basic, fundamental facts about the language and ethnic composition of Afghanistan, deserves to be challenged about why he knows so little. It calls to mind the line from the movie, THE FLY. Geena Davis catches Jeff Goldblum in the sack with a sweet young thing and warns her, “Be afraid. Be very afraid.”
