i just watched the video and Obama never said that they spoke arabic in Afghanistan. In fact he specifically says "the various languages they speak there, not Arabic" so what's your problem

Another point in reference to John McCain's supposed "gaffes": Iran IS, in fact, arming both shiite militias AND sunni extremists in Iraq.

Normally, the shiites in Iran wouldn't give sunnis anywhere so much as a bucket of warm spit. But in this case "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

The Iranian clerics' worst nightmare is the establishment of a successful western-style democracy next door in Iraq. They know full well that if the "new" Iraq takes root, their days are numbered. Already they're starting to see tithes from the faithful go more and more to Ayatollah Al-Sistani in An-Najaf in Iraq and away from the mullahs in Qom, Iran.

So, in an attempt to prevent thsi from happening, they are funding and arming BOTH shiite and sunni extremists in Iraq.

McCain was, and is, right.

Oh, and for the several of you who are apparently too dense to figure this out for yourselves, the military typically gets the great majority of its interpreters from among the local population. So, the supply of available translators in Afghanistan is almost totally independent from the supply of available translators in Iraq.

Barack Obama is a naive lightweight. God help us if he actually becomes president (which he won't).

It's not important? Good gosh, if we don't expect the president to have a grasp on foreign affairs, then how would we ever hold him accountable for decisions?

It means he's unprepared to be Commander in Chief.

John McCain will win comfortably in November for the following reasons:

1) The GOP is going to hammer Obama with Jerimiah Wright, Tony Rezko and Bill Ayers relentlessly in its TV ads.

2) The economy is bottoming now and will be on the upturn in November.

3) The speculative bubble in oil prices will have broken, leading to a significant price drop as speculators scramble to unwind their long positions and go short. (The real clearing price for oil is probably around $90 a barrell.)

4) It will be obvious that the Iraq War is pretty much over and that the good guys have won. Al-Qeada in Iraq has been basically run out of the country and Prime Minister Maliki and the Iraqi Army have soundly thumped Moqtada Al-Sadr's Mahdi Army. After the 45-day pause this Summer advocated by Gen. Patraeus, US troop withdrawls will re-start in time for the election, leading McCain to claim that we are leaving in victory rather than after a humiliating defeat as would have happened had the chickens**t Democrats, including Barack Obama, had their way.

5) For the coup de grace, about a month before the election the Michelle Obama "whitey" videotape will be released. White Democrats will then flock to McCain, a bona fide American hero, in droves on Election Day rather than see a couple of black militants (one covert, one overt) take over the White House.

It's gonna be fun to watch. :-)

Do yourself a favor, and try to understand what the real criticism is, you just look stupid.

And being this naive, deliberately, or otherwise, allows others to troll YOU, something you seem incapapble of grasping.

Maybe it's because you're so smart, and so talented, maybe it's because you're the best, who knows, but given the loss, here, despite all the buzz flash, it's apparent you don't really understand what is happening.

Projection doesnt work, it's used against you.

This is the stupidest criticism I have heard to date of Obama. The point of Obama's comments are that the military should be focusing on having interpreters who speak the language of the country the military is operating in. The president does not need to know what that language is specifically to make that policy deicion. And I wouldn't expect him or Hilary Clinton to know what specific tribal dialect or whatever is spoken in Afghanistan. I would expect them to know the difference between Sunni and Shiite and which group Al Quaeda is associated with because I do and it would be necessary for whoever is president to be aware of these religious and political divisions in the Arab world. This cannot possibly be your real problem with Obama so what is?

Right. So we should go elect McCain who can't even tell the difference between the Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan and has continuously confused the three and had to be corrected by his aids repeatedly on live TV.

Defeating trolls:

Yes ignoring them is fun, but those new to the site really don't read that and read every post. It causes them to be sad and disheartened.

So, one key way is to mimic them once they post, write as their name and say how sorry you are that you were a troll and move towards loving Hillary.

Its instant karma and gets them freaked out. So those 400 fake trolls will never hurt me! Try it on the next troll and you'll love yourself even more. Heck, use their name when you reply to their comment with a quote from Hillary or something positive from Hillary. It'll really surprise new readers and neutralise the trolls. They then become useless against the newbies and won't be moulded into depression...
