Obama Freakout Over Michelle Video: The Ticking “Whitey” Time Bomb

Today, on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Barack Obama lost his cool, calling names and making unspecified threats. Why? Ostensibly, it’s because the Tennessee Republican Party issued an Internet video featuring Michelle Obama saying she’s proud of being an American only because her husband is running for president. Well, yes, we all heard that awhile ago.

But the real reason for Obama’s extraordinary freakout is that he fears the release of the videotape, reported here, of Michelle Obama in the pulpit of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s church railing against “whitey.” And we don’t mean Whitey Ford. Four Republican sources have told me that the tape exists. I’ve also been informed that Karl Rove and his allies have a copy of it and are using it to raise funds for independent expenditure groups. The tape, I’m told, will be disclosed as the GOP October Surprise. It’s a ticking time bomb.

And I’ve learned that a right-wing Republican billionaire has put a $1 million bounty on the video. He doesn’t want John McCain to win, like a number of conservatives, and thinks Obama is a pathetically weak candidate. The billionaire wants that video released now.

Obama, speaking on ABC’s “Good Morning America” showed fear through his name-calling: “If they think that they’re gonna try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because, that I find unacceptable. … The notion that you start attacking my wife or my family — you know, Michelle is the most honest, the best person I know. She is one of the most caring people I know. She loves this country. And for them to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her I think is … just low class.”

Does Obama have a copy of the “whitey” video? We know that he knows that his wife knows. The video really does exist. If we have to wait until October to see it, Obama might explode before then from the tension.

Didn’t the Obama campaign say that super delegates should vote the same way their constituents did? In fact didn’t the Obama campaign used to complain about super delegates, arguing that “party insiders” shouldn’t decide the nomination?

Oops, my bad. That was the Obama argument in FEBRUARY. The Obama argument in May is that it’s time to unify and coalesce around one candidate — well, as long as that one candidate is Barack Obama.

Now, mind you, I don’t really mind Obama’s shifting rationale. Part of winning in politics is to press home every advantage and do what you can to minimize the damage from any disadvantages. In this, Obama is pretty much doing what any politician would.

And THAT’S my point. Obama is acting like any other politician would. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I’m just saying if you support Obama, don’t be fooled into thinking that he’s somehow different from other politicians. He wants to win and he’ll do what’s necessary, even shifting his arguments when the circumstances dictate it.

McPeak in a speech in Medford Oregon accused Bill Clinton of McCarthism. The guy was Bill Clinton’s Chief of Staff. I don’t trust him. I have no proof that Michelle is racist she just seems like a very angry person who has been quite focused on race as an issue ever since she went to Princeton. As a woman of color I understand the culture surrounding not being white but I think Michelle Obama seems to be angry about something and it seems related to race. From her thesis in Princeton on blacks feeling comfortable in a white cluture to the comment about being proud for the first time in her adult life to saying she wanted to scratch Bill Clinton’s eye’s out. For someone who has received a fine ivy league education and seems to have a nice life, Wealthy, doesn’t have to work, powerful husband. I am not sure why she is angry but she is. I think she has trouble getting past the fact that there are more then just white and black issues. It was upsetting to see her stump to black peopel and refer to Obama as her baby Daddy as if she was not married and was raising her boyfriend’s child. Talk about PANDERING. I remember Carter well. And sadly I voted for him. He was aloof,disengaged,incompetent,arrogant, and had no abiity to resolve the hostage crisis. His administration was tentative and almost inoperable and no new or important policies were engaged. Zibigniew Bresinsky who along with Carter are Obama advisors. Both are hostile to Israel and biased pro Palestine as endorsed in Carter’s recent book. Carter was I believe our only born again Christian pres. Now his legacy is Habitat, but as a president he was a zero.

Z. Brezinsky is an arrogant bellicose man who has advised Obama on “foreign and mid east policy”. This is the guy who couldn’t act on or resolve the hostage crisis which really brought Carter down. He was not a popular president, and his statesmanship has occurred only since his flawed presidency.

If the spouse of a presidential candidate has a role in their campaign or is likely to have a role in their administration beyond “First Lady” social duties, the answer is clearly yes. Why should the scrutiny of a spouse’s expressed thoughts and positions be any less than that of a trusted advisor? Is there no insight to be gained into the influences that will be factored by a president through the analysis of the views of his/her spouse?

Who among us believes that Hillary Clinton had no influence over the policies of the Bill Clinton administration? In fact, isn’t that one of the reasons we are told to believe she is now day-one ready to be president? And we certainly would expect Bill Clinton to have some input into policy decisions if Hillary were elected president.

So why is it a surprise that the words of Michelle Obama are being analyzed and utilized by those who oppose Obama for president? She clearly would be more of a Hillary Clinton First Lady than a Barbara Bush First Lady, actively engaged and consulted by Barack; so her view of the world and her feelings about America are relevant from at least two perspectives: how her views influence those of her husband and how her views reflect those of her husband.

McCain is tromping him in Missouri, which he won; Kansas, which he won. McCain is ahead in Colorado, which he won.

I can’t figure out what states he thinks he IS going to win besides Northeast and coastal states in the West.

McCain has an image as a straight-talking, maverick and moderate Republican (may not be true – doesn’t matter thats what people believe). He is also, helpfully, a former POW who spent 5 years in a prison in North Vietnam. In other words, Mr. All-American patriot.

So who do the Democrats want to offer up? Why of course, a guy who spends 20 years in a racist, black nationalist church and calls the pastor of said church his spiritual advisor and moral compass. Who is married to a woman who appears to have great antipathy towards the majority of her fellow Americans (a country she is not particularly proud of). 1 – Make sure that your children, or the children of people you care about, aren’t military age, aren’t interested in serving, and can’t be talked into it. Of course, who cares about other people’s children? Right?

2 – Reproductive rights. Kiss them good bye. Good luck on counting on a Democratic congress to help with that end. Midterm elections… Rights voters picking up steam and meeting their goals of overturning Roe v. Wade.

If Roe v. Wade is at any risk, it’s because Democrats let the unqualfied ‘Uncle Clarence’ Thomas play the race card to get his unqualified ass on the Supreme Court. Thomas just votes however Scalia tells him to. Thanks to Dems being castrated by the race card, Scalia has two votes. Choice has been eroded so much that in many states it is pretty much impossible to have an abortion. Why? Because there aren’t enough Doctors who will perform abortions. Plus, low income and military women can’t afford abortions, because of draconian laws being passed. And, many health insurance companies don’t pay, so middle income women can’t afford them either. First, to Kevin Hayden, consider that if the polls are showing McCain up 1% in those states, the real margin is probably more like 4% or 5%. This is because there are a few whites … maybe 3-4% of voters, who will tell the pollsters that they intend to vote for Obama but who, once the curtain to the voting booth is closed, simply won’t be able to bring themselves to vote for a black man for president.

Bob, here’s where your problem is. When it comes to affairs in marriages, that’s really none of my business. My Dad actually had several affairs when I was young, which I condemned him for at the time. Then I grew up, and came to realize it was a much more complicated situation than I realized. I had no right to judge. Same thing with Cindy’s drug addiction. That can get rather complicated as well.

I also think that if Michelle called a big portion of the population “whitey” she also must have her reasons—very valid reasons. The problem is, Obama’s campaign has been about bringing people together and overcoming Republican/Democrat barriers, black/white issues—this also deals with his honesty and forthrightness platitudes. The “whitey” remarks pretty much contradict all of that. If my Dad was running on a platform called “marital bliss” I don’t believe I’d vote for him either.

Look, you’re not a racists just because you don’t like obama.

That being said, there are quite a few posts on here that are really f’in thinly veiled comments that suggest a racist poster.

And then there are others that are not so thin. But to those people who are just making up reasons to not like the guy, ask you self (and be prepared to answer when others ask) why do that?

It’s perfectly fine to dislike a presidential candidate based on policy, based on party affiliation, based on past performance. And there are plenty of people who have those very objections. And I respect that.

What gets me is that half of the people here aren’t giving any such reasons, but making some sort of conspiracy about how he’s going to ruin the country. How? Why? When you make such silly claims without any sort of real, political stance or historical precedent, excuse us if we jump to the conclusion that there must be some other, non-political reason you dislike the guy.

It may be race. It may be something else. But unless you give an actual reason, don’t be surprised if people assume race. It’s unavoidable. He’s the first half white/half black candidate to win the nomination n history. So don’t actu surprised.

You know what’s so funny is the fact that this comment is made such a big deal of. I am a 36 year old American who has lived in this country all of my life. I served in the US Army during the first gulf war and would serve again if called upon. However, having grown up in the south where my high school had a separate prom for blacks and whites, where I was called boy and nigger, among other actions that were not only done, but supported by the establishment, I can’t say that I was always proud of this country. I can understand where she’s coming from. However, if you listen to her words she didn’t say she was never proud of this cou8ntry; she said for the first time in her adult life she’s “really” proud of this country. When your first child id born, you can say, I’m “really” happy, does that mean you’ve never been happy before? No, it doesn’t. Also, notice in the video, not one of the persons shown strating how proud they are of America are of American descent unless they are white. It is funny that they couldn’t, ot didn’t try to, find any blacks for this disparaging commentary on Michelle Obama’s American pride.

I have been loyal to the Democratic Party with my votes and financial contributions for over 40 years (I am over 64 years of age) and can no longer stay loyal to the direction of the party under the leadership (dictatorship) of Barrack Hussein Kennedy Obama (I am certain if Obama were to become President his middle name Hussein will be required on all portraits and historical references). I have tried hard to believe Senator Obama and his most loyal colleagues but find he has strained even my right whitey brain with increduilty. In otherwords I do not believe the brother from Kenya with a naturalized American citizenship. Obama can’t string more than five coherent words into a plausible sentence on any topic without stuttering, stammering, and swallowing hard before he continues into ad nauseum (Argumentum ad nauseam or argument from repetition or argumentum ad infinitum is an argument made repeatedly) – (possibly by different people until nobody cares to discuss it anymore. This may sometimes, but not always, be a form of proof by assertion.) Obama’s repeated lies are making me feel ill for the Democratic party, especially our ladies who deserve great respect and listening. Every time Obama lies his ears grow bigger. I am hanging on to my good feelings about the entire Democratic party as best I can in hopes of recognition of our Hillary.

We’ve heard the Jeremiah Wright’s sermons in which Obama sat but did not hear for 20 years. The Catholic preacher said the same words and the congregation cheered and hollered about his negativism of Hillary as a privileged white woman. On his new site ‘Fight the Smears’, he says Michelle was not on the program but gives a copy of the program in which she was on it. Also there were pictures taken of she and the Farrakhan women at the luncheon. This ‘Whitey’ tape was supposedly released at the time the Wright tapes were released and SOMEONE thought the things said was okay. After all the denial, if and when the tape is produced, will it be the end of Obama? NO! He has been forgiven for all the racism, eliteism, bigotry so far and given a free ride. If he doesn’t have the votes, the DNC will take someone else’s and give them to him.

If there is a tape – show it. If there are sources who have actually seen said tape – bring them into the sunshine.

Saying “I know someone who says they have seen the tape” isn’t good enough. I know people who say they have seen Bigfoot or flying saucers.

I think this is ridiculous. What I’ve learned from past election cycles is when campagnes/parties resort to these type attacks their (chosen) candidate is usually struggling. After looking at the speech Michelle Obama gave that caused some to question her patriotism ,in my opinion,is a bit far fetched. Americans outing CIA agents is a reason to call one’s patriotism into question, not her speech.

I’m a Democrat and I think the Democrat Clinton supporters(on here)tossing stones may need take at look Clinton herself. I supported her run until I saw some of the antics her and Bill pulled during the campagne. The weeping in NH, her self appointed “electable” status and toward the end, touting the voters who supported her as exclusively hers. Those were just a few problems I had with the campagne. My main concern was the amount of “Baggage” that would follow her in to the fall election.

A few Religious Conservatives I spoke with had issues with his wife’s company being a large beer distributor.
