The Big Bad Fox Did It

Last Tuesday we had the immense pleasure of watching Senator Barack Obama lose big time in Kentucky. His campaign knew he was going to lose big. And that is why Senator Obama didn’t even bother to campaign there. But if that wasn’t enough of an insult to the Bluegrass State, Obama took it upon himself to tell the good people of Kentucky that the reason they didn’t vote for him is because of Fox News.

I am not making this stuff up.

Obama blames Fox News, e-mail for likely loss in Kentucky

He also blamed Fox News for disseminating “rumors” about him and said that that and e-mails filled with misinformation that have been “systematically” dispersed have hurt him in Kentucky.

So those backwoods hicks are immune to the Cult-Aide because they prefer moonshine. Instead they get their hypno on by watching Fox News.

But that doesn’t stop Obama from trying to hoodwink Kentuckians anyway. The master in his own words:

“What it says is that I’m not very well known in that part of the country,” Obama said. “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.”

Yeah, Obama, those dumb hicks aren’t aware that Illinois borders Kentucky. What an idiot!

And this is how he is explaining his massive loss in Kentucky Tuesday night.

“Part of it is because there have been these e-mails that have been sent out very systematically, presumably by various political opponents, although I don’t know who,” he said. “And there are a lot of voters who get their news from Fox News. Fox has been pumping up rumors about my religious beliefs or my patriotism or what have you since the beginning of the campaign.”

Juan Williams is having none of it. The way he sees things Obama is delusional and making excuses for his inability to connect with ordinary Americans.

Juan says Obama is Constipated

Well I think he is playing to the elites Laura. A lot of people on the elite side, the San Francisco people who he told that those backwood rubes don’t understand their clinging to their guns and their religion. They also think that somehow those people are being influenced and misguided by Fox news. And so I think Barack Obama is playing to that base and writing off people who watch Fox and I think distorting the truth. because as you just said, when he has come on Fox he has been treated very well. I would challenge him to say: Give me some evidence where you have been mistreated.

The one case he would cite is one day about a year ago Fox reported that he had attended a madras as a young person growing up. The next day, this was a one day one hit wonder, the next day Fox News corrected it. Is that what he is talking about? I don’t know. If that’s the case it is su8ch a thin reed that I think that it makes him look foolish. I don’t think, there is no substance to it. Because when he has come on Fox he has been treated so well. In fact I would go an added step. I would say in fact there are people on Fox that really don’t like Hillary Clinton and have been very rough on Hillary Clinton. And they have almost treated Obama as a savior. Oh yeah, treat him well because he is the guy thats come along and he is the one that is going to defeat Hillary Clinton.

I think that Juan does a good job of explaining all of this. Of course to the Obama campaign and his thug supporters, Juan is nothing more than a House N*g*er. But what else would you expect from them?

In the end Williams hits it out of the ballpark. This guy not only has his head on right, he understands ordinary people and knows exactly what to say.

It’s just like this: He is not campaigning in Kentucky. He is campaigning in Oregon. He didn’t campaign in West Virginia. So I think, wait a second, If he wants people to get to know him make an effort. Let people get to know you, make a case for yourself. Instead he wants to blame Fox. I think it’s a cheap out. I think in fact people are seeing through him. That’s the problem. He doesn’t like people seeing through him.

In Pennsylvania it was those clingy hicks. In West Virginia we never even had the chance to find out what Obama thought, because he only held one campaign event in that state. And now in Kentucky Obama is blaming this all on Fox News and those dumb hillbillies stupid enough to watch and believe it.

I think that Juan is exactly right. Obama has been caught looking down his elite nose on ordinary, hard working Americans. And the people of Kentucky can see right through him. Thank goodness!

And I am proud to state: Ich bin ein Kentuckian.

I end this with a wonderful find. It is the unofficial Obama campaign song. I think you will find it entirely appropriate.

It’s unfair to challenge a US senator with such hypotheticals. Senators represent but one state. In theory they have to be able to find this state. For example they might need to go home from time to time. But even here the airlines will mostly likely come to help. All Barry has to do is remember the name of his state and he’ll make it home all right.

    Great post, Pagan.
It’s all tactical for Axelrove’s monster. Obama could care less about the folks of WV, Kentucky, Oregon, Florida, Michigan, etc, all 57 states. As long as he manipulates, lies and cheats his way into office, who cares about the people?

Great redo of the lyrics too, a jaunty Obama tune.

Senator Clinton is unwavering in her continued representation of the millions who have voted for her despite being assailed from every corner by opponents of her candidacy. She has demonstrated the mark of true leadership and the courage it takes to stand firm on behalf of the people. We are privileged to have not only her acumen but her loyalty and strength. Leadership such as hers is rare.

Let us all be unwavering in our support of her and as citizens in our demands for democracy, truth and justice.

Millions of Americans now protest the threat to our freedom for a free and fair election and democracy for every citizen. For the first time in the history of our nation, we have the opportunity to elect a Woman or an African American for President of the United States. We condemn the travesty of the prejudice and bias some in the media continue to inflict on Senator Hillary Clinton.

They were willing to cast Bill Clinton a racist. What makes anybody think they will give the average american any more respect?

NOTHING snObama does will get me and a whole lot of hicks and white trash to vote for him.

      • John

If Obama is the nominee, I hope both Bill and Hillary take a nice, long, well-deserved break from campaigning which lasts until sometime next year.

After all, who needs them? They’re divisive. They’re racists. Their supporters are just a small segment of bitter, gun-and-Bible-clinging typical whites- oh, and pretty much all the Latinos, too. Obama will more than make up that loss with a massive flood of young people interested in politics for the first time and Republicans and Independents who will happily vote for Obama over McCain (snark.)

      • Nellie

        I agree.

Obama’s ego in assuming that he can wontonly abuse a successful former President, and then demand said former President fix what he deliberately broke is beyond even the worst arrogance.

I do not think Bill will work for Obama he is one angry man and I do not see the Clintons doing anything for Obama in fact I bet we see her run as an independent.

We need to talk. How dare the leadership of the Democratic Party turn on Hillary Clinton! How dare they betray Bill Clinton! How dare they not speak out when Hillary is disrespected by words like bitch, whore and the “c” word! How dare they allow them both to be smeared as racists, playing the race card! Where was Howard Dean ? Where was Nancy Pelosi ? Where were Hillary’s colleagues in the Senate when the Clintons were being so unfairly accused and denigrated? The Democratic Party has a lot to answer for. If we had stood as a party with one voice and said, “no”, we will not allow one of our own to be so disturbingly maligned, we would now have a unified democratic party electorate at the end of a virtually tied primary race. Instead we are deeply divided. Now, since the party’s leaders have chosen again and again not to speak up, I will

I read the article and thought it was wonderful. Then I read the comments, bad idea. The hate for Hillary is unbelievable. I think the reason why so many believe that the Clintons have run a “dirty campaign” is because many of them get their news from CNN or MSNBC. It makes me so mad that this is what it has come down to in America. That the media has so much power that it can try and choose our next President. And the reason why I will never vote for Obama is that he has done nothing to stop it. He enjoys seeing the Clintons ripped apart from the media. He has even added to it. Bill and Hillary Clinton are fabulous people who are trying their best for our country and getting shit thrown at them every day.

I’d laugh except it’s so pathetic. Obama is supposed to be a smart enough guy, unless he scammed his way through school, too (I’m a teacher and I’ve seen it happen). And we thought George W. was bad. It’s like deja vu all over again. Obama’s got spuds for brains.

He didn’t campaign in Kentucky and WV because he knew he would be landslided and wanted to be able to make the argument that it was because he didn’t campaign there so they didn’t know him (although in reality he had spent double and even triple the amount Clinton did in these states). If they had more time, like in Iowa – they would eventually turn for him. WRONG. They will never vote for you Obama because they know when something smells funny – your inexperience, unelectability, and arrogance.

    Memorial Day: A Contrast

Barack Obama must be the most gaffe-prone politician in memory. Today, he delivered a Memorial Day speech in New Mexico. After greeting the local Democratic Party dignitaries, he began:

On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.
Memorial Day honors those who have died in our nation’s military service. Is it possible that Obama does not know this? Sometimes the things that come out of his mouth defy understanding.
    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives2/2008/05/020607.php

    • Joe

Maybe his audience is composed of zombies.

      • http://akpmedia.com David Axisrutt

Well that’s usually the case. You seem to have a point!

    • http://liberalrapture.com scott in jupiter

      Sonia,
Sometimes I think he is just reading from a thesaurus spouting off large or obscure words that the average person has no idea what he even is saying. It also appears he doesn’t even know what he’s saying. Every time he says anything the media makes excuses and translates what he really meant to say.

    • jwrjr

He sees many of the unbroken line of fallen heroes in the audience. What, he is so hard up for supporters that he had to exhume a cemetery to get an audience? Oh, that’s right. That’s how they get voters in Chicago, so why not an audience?

      • http://liberalrapture.com scott in jupiter

I read he got some dead votes in NC too.

      • HARP

I wonder if he saw his Grandfather.

OPPPS — just like GWB — when snObama goes off script — he makes an ass of himself. He seems to be able to read WITHOUT comprehension — just like good old bushie.

      What an idiot he is!

      • Clara Barton

But he had a script in front of him! Guess he decided to ad lib a little and recognize all the zombies ‘right there in front of him’. Doncha know those vets were disgusted with his flat, unemotional thanks for the support speech? He’s a phony and it shows.

    • John

“Unbroken line of fallen heroes….and I see many of them in the audience today…?”

That’s classic, but really, after seven years, what else do we expect from George Bush…oh wait…

  • candymarl

Now the theme against McCain is that he had too much military service.
He looks at it (whatever that is) too much through that lens.
Kerry was the dishonorable veteran. McCain is now the crazy vet again.
I’m not a Republican but I am a veteran and I find this highly offensive. The man was a prisoner of war for five years for goodness sake! It’s not like he was hanging out in the military and had a choice.

Like him or hate him if you can’t feel something for a person that was tortured for five years, broke, and signed a confession he didn’t mean, oh come on! He admits he broke and didn’t think it could happen to him. Admitting that is part of the healing process.

What you’re telling all of us who serve is if we “serve too long” it’s bad? Good grief Democrats what are you thinking? You just lost the military vote.
So the Democratic party doesn’t need Latinos, Native Americans, working class whites, active duty military, and veterans.
Good luck with winning with the remainder.

    • Northwest rain

Anyone who makes that remark about McCain in my presence — well my husband will have to pull me off the jerk. And I don’t hit anyone — but damn that would piss me off.

My dad was career military — and the civilian world was (and is) damned glad to have all the career military they could get! Work ethic and loyalty are some the the character traits found in Vets.

I guess this is how the neo-liberals are going to try to swiftboat McCain — too much time in the military!!??

  • candy

About that Memorial Day ‘MOBUS Nostradamus’ event (he should have finted after btw)… Since CNN pointed out it was strange for him not to mention service of country at Wesleyan re: serving your country, I guess the thought (or didn’t), that would make up for it.

  • TeakWoodKite

PagenPower, seems like BO does not want anyone to support him…today he could not know what it was to serve. No shit BO. He couldn’t do as a state senator or a US senator, why would anyone believe he should do it as POTUS.

    7. America isn’t ready for me. It is unworthy. Sucks to be you, America.

  • karen for Clinton

Ob’s constant excuses don’t hold water.

He is living in a bubble that will implode on him.

Nobody thinks he really believes the 18 million voters for Hillary did so because of Fox news or an email. How many people even saw that email? How many people even open forwards and risk virus?

That he is blaming Fox is hysterical. Every other news network has given him unworthy praise and he cites the ONE that doesn’t fawn over him.

Hillary won DESPITE all the networks attacking her and despite obama’s own campaign attacking her with lies and over the top innuendo.

The people he views as rubes aren’t buying his snake oil and instead of healing the rift he turns it into a chasm that will never be repaired.

He has done slash and burn every step of the way.

Adding insult to injury doesn’t woo voters.

“Yeah, Obama, those dumb hicks aren’t aware that Illinois borders Kentucky. What an idiot!” – Barack Obama wasn’t trying to pull one over on the ‘dumb hicks’. Barack Obama really, really didn’t realize that Illinois is closer to Kentucky than Arkansas is.

This is important. Barack Obama, Illinois Senator did not know that Illinois and Kentucky share a border.

Barack Obama, who wants to be president thinks he can visit 57 states within her borders.

He doesn’t know where the Great Lakes are.

And, on the world stage, Barack Obama, Chair of the Sub-Committee on Foreign Relations in Europe, responsible for oversight of NATO’s operations in Afghanistan, DID NOT KNOW what languages are spoken in Afghanistan, and DID NOT KNOW about the geography of Afghanistan. He thought that Iraq & Afghanistan were linguistically and geographically the same.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Obama can give a good speech. But, when he ventures into the unscripted territory of Off-the-Cuff-Land he displays his ignorance on foreign relations, economics, healthcare, world geography, and just about anything he decides to open his mouth about. His halting, meandering, uh-filled responses in interviews and debates are not the product of a deep, pensive intelligence. They are the product of a lazy, shallow mind flailing about, trying to string together rehearsed talking points.

  • JohnnyB

Ob outspent Hillary 2 to 1 in both Kentucky and West Virginia. He had more offices in both states. He CAMPAIGNED heavily in both states, he just didn’t show up, so it looked like he didn’t care, but his team tried to close the gap in both states. In fact, Hillary was favored by 25 in Kentucky and won by 35. Yes, Hillary outperformed the polls by 10% in Kentucky. This is face of Ob’s claiming he’s the nominee. Same in West Virginia, she won by 41%, 8% more than expected in the polls. Remember, Hillary was outspent 2 to 1 or more in both states and came out with HUGE victories.

Hillary, on the other hand, has repeatedly gone to the lion’s den and emerged with more strength and support.

  • oh really

With luck, in November you’ll have “the immense pleasure of watching Senator Barack Obama lose big time” to John McCain. Then, one assumes you’ll have the immense pleasure of watching McCain nominate more right wing justices to the Supreme Court. Then, continuing your pleasurable line of reasoning, one assumes you’ll have immense pleasure watching McCain and the Supreme Court finish the job Bush began on the Constitution.

When I think that the drivel you’re spewing here is in support of someone like Senator Clinton, I’m simply astounded. I’m not a great Obama fan, but sorry, Senator Clinton has demonstrated repeatedly that she isn’t fit to president. If she is somehow able to steal the nomination, and I have to vote for her to stop McCain, it will be the most extreme lesser evil choice I’ve ever faced. But unlike you, I would get no pleasure watching Commander in Chief McCain continue Bush’s assault on the Constitution and world peace.

Perhaps, you can join forces with Reverend Hagee. He’ll be interested to know that you’ve discovered the Anti-Christ.

    Note for Helen McCombs | 2008-05-27 11:30:24

“I think Hillary should run as a third party candiate win and then spend the next four years humiliating the Democrat men…”

Great idea, Helen. Let’s see, Hillary would finish a distant third in that race, and McCain would win. I look forward to all the progress women’s rights will make under President McCain.

After tossing the presidency to the Saint, Hillary could return to the Senate to join Joe Lieberman in their dominant party of “independent” Democrats. Really good plan. Let’s hope no one tells Hillary about the “inevitability” of her victory in a three way race. I imagine she’d be willing to dodge a lot more bullets in Tuzla if it meant she could run as a third party candidate and get to “humiliate” all those men for her BFF Helen. What a great rationale for a candidacy.
