    Did anyone see on CNN this AM around 8am they did a sequence showing voters voting? In it it showed a voter wearing an OBAMA08 jacket WHILE IN THE ACT OF VOTING IN THE BOOTH.
    It is my understanding that this is against the LAW. CNN is showing this blatantly!
    Isn’t there a law that states you are not allowed to campaign in or near a polling place?

      Ordinances do not apply to voters wearing campaign apparel in the voting place. Usually, the laws apply to campaign yard signs and handing out flyers. The restricted distance from the closest polling place is typically 100 feet. If you’re closer than that, you will be guilty of electioneering.

      The NYT and cable news are giving Obama such entitlement, that when it turns out HRC won, the AA community is going to feel that Clinton stole the election, and Obama operatives will be too happy to turn it into a huge race issue.
      Party delegates won’t want that, and for the sake of not alienating the black community, will lean toward “letting it go,” knowing that McCain will win.
      Angry women are considered the less damaging alternative to the party.
      This is what is going on, now, and why he’s getting the delegates. IMHO

    Exposure to Wright makes it difficult to turn the other cheek. I am tempted to invoke racist-sounding sarcasm towards him. It’s a statement regarding how far some of us have come that we are almost muted in our loathing of him and his positions.

    Nonetheless, when we close the curtain and pull the lever on Election Day, our decisions will be private and not subject to the criticism or scorn of others.

    The machines don’t ask, “Why?” they just record our votes.

    when obama goes on about his faith, and his believe in jesus, i just do not believe a single word of it. yet he plays the game just as he has to. rather than take a stand, be a ‘new kind’ of politician as he has branded himself, and stand up for issues vs. his personal values and his religious beliefs. he is such a con man, it makes me sick.

    Amazing! Just raised by an Act of God to the Throne. No corruption involved at all, none needed for the New Messiah (gag).

    As a Christian, never mind as an American and as a woman, I find everything out of Jeremiah Wright’s mouth vile. My fiancee, who is a minister, recently pointed out to me that Jeremiah is the angriest prophet in the Bible.

    On a lighter note, I don’t believe Jesus ever said “And the incompetent black man shall rule over all!”

    When are his followers going to wake up and realize they are “plugged in”, just like in The Matrix?

    Either way, the Democratic party is done for. The handwriting is on the wall. The fix is in and Obama will be the nominee. Hillary supporters will leave the party in droves.
    Should the DNC follow the rules on Florida and Michigan and Hillary gets the majority of voters and delegates then the nomination the Obama supporters will riot.
    This is what Dean, Pelosi, Reid, and company have brought to fruition.
    Should Obama win I don’t see him being any more effective than most of the Democrats battling the republicans. The repubs will get their legislation and SCROTUS nominees pushed thru.

    Barack Obama is not anymore religious than he is ideological. The man has no core, no center. He is not the Second Coming, he is not the “Transcender”, he is not the unifying force. He is simply another Chicago politician who knew just who to schmooze, whose ass to kiss, whose lap to climb onto, to get to where he wanted to be. Luck played a heavy role in that as well since his opponent, Alan Keyes, was a joke!

    Pushing this candidacy down my throat, when I know he lacks judgment, experience, qualifications, and empathy is something I will resist in November. If I have to vote McCain, I do so hoping and praying that the ineffectual Dems in congress increase in tally and will be used as a stopgap measure. An Obama presidency will fraught with more dissatisfaction than a McCain presidency since we already will know the ingredients up front. I am a Hillary supporter but they are undermining her at every turn.

    I am an American citizen first. That is where my heart and duty is, to my country. No party affiliation can make me vote for an anti-American like Obama. Fellow Americans, we are at war. Defend America by not voting for Obama in any way. He cannot be allowed to enter our White House. He needs to be taken out of the Senate, he is unfit for our Country. Let him run for office in Kenya with his cousin Odinga since he holds dual citizenship. His anti-American friends will fit in fine there. Then lets clean house in the DNC, the Congress, the Senate, Governorships, etc. Vote for no one who endorsed this anti-American.

    Ed Schultz, moments ago: “If Geraldine Ferraro accused Barack Obama of Sexism, well…what Hillary says here borders on..Dishonesty…” Then he plays a clip of Hillary claiming that more people have voted for her this year than any other candidate.

    Schultz: “NO NO NO! That’s NOT TRUE! It’s only true if you throw out the caucus votes..”

    Of course, what Hillary says is ABSOLUTELY TRUE, because the popular vote in the caucus states is only ESTIMATED. Of the votes we KNOW were cast this year, Hillary has received more than anyone else.

    Does bloviating dipshit Obamabot Schultz get this? Of course he does. He just ignores the reality to match his ideology. And he won’t ever get called on it, because the people who phone in are as much in the tank for Obama as Schultz is.

    Last night on Tom Hartmann, a woman called in to say that she stopped listening to Ed Schultz because “he’s so shrill and anti-Hillary I gave up on him..” Hartmann interrupted and said “I’m sorry I can’t get into other shows..” and hung up on her.

    Minutes later, after a commercial break, Hartmann says “When that last caller mentioned Ed Schultz, for some reason my brain heard ‘Rush Limbaugh,’ that’s why I let her go on for as long as I did (four seconds)..”

    The problem is, lots of people call Hartmann to complain about Limbaugh, Hannity etc. and Hartmann engages in conversation with them. Clearly, he’s lying here– he hung up on the last caller because she was criticizing a fellow “Progressive” (I use that term very losely when referring to Schultz, who is just a pig.)

    Someone I know yesterday told me that he felt that listening to Obama was like being in the tent revivalist movement during the mid l9th century.

    We had the Christian right-wing fundamentalist/evangelicals under Bush, now we have the Rev Wright Black Liberation/far-left wing under Obama.

    Kathryn…thanks for the heads up. Yes, it’s illegal and it’s disgusting that CNN chose this to show, without commenting that it is illegal. You are not supposed to wear buttons or anything like that in to vote.

    It reminds me of the disgusting picture of Bushie *autographing* a flag for one of his moron faithful. Desecrating a flag is a-ok if you’re a thug.
