At least 200,001 Reasons Hillary Should Be President

A democratic election ought to be based on who gets the most votes. But not in the Alice and Wonder World of Howard Dean and the Main Stream Media. They indulge more fantasies than Heidi Fleiss’s whorehouse.

Let’s make this simple. Thirty six states actually held a primary election. You do not have to guess about the results. You don’t have to do an estimate. The results (excluding Michigan and Oregon, where the counting just started) has Hillary with 403,261 more votes than Barack. She has smoked his ass over the last four weeks. Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky are needed in the fall if the Democrats hope to win back the White House. Hell, let’s ignore them. Let’s focus on states that held caucuses. You know, events where only a fraction of the eligible voters actually participated. That makes sense. Right?

  • http://www.hillaryclinton.com Fighting Back

    First!

    • Which is it?

If people here actually support Hillary so passionately, why do they reject her request to support the Dem nominee (whoever it is) over McCain?

Is Hillary foolish to say that Obama is a better choice that McCain?

      Or is she lying?

It can only be one or the other.

      • Kourian

That has to be a rhetorical question. Because the answer’s bleeding obvious.

        • Easy peasy.

It’s obvious that Hillary is foolish for saying Obama is better than McCain?

Or it’s obvious that Hillary is lying and actually supports McCain?

There is a third option: Those who refuse to vote for the Dem nominee are foolish.

          So which is it?

          • standard

Larry, if you don’t oust Trolls, NQ is going to morph into Big Orange Urinal.

I come here because Troll snot from Obama zealots has gotten under my skin bigtime.

Please, please kick these losers out.

          • layla

Your calling your supporters fools then, because for months they’ve been spouting they will never vote for Sen. Clinton if she’s the nominee.

      • usedmeat

… and the answer is, “Better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven”.
I will not empower the likes of a Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, Josh Marshall, Markos whatever, and Dean by giving obama my vote.

        • Logic

So you think Hillary was foolish to say Obama is better than McCain?

You passionately support someone you consider a fool?

          What does that make you?

          • cc

I will support John McCain ALWAYS over a terrorist sympathizing, fraudulent, racist, lying, corrupt, inept, sexist windbag. The safety of this country comes first and foremost. Hillary making the plea is due to her being a team player a fact which the DNC uses against her. Nothing anyone, including Hillary, says on this matter will sway me. Unlike you Obamatots I still have the ability for independent thought.

          • standard

How much does Obama pay Trolls?

          • jdona

You are under the wrong impression about why we would vote McCain. We support Hillary because we truly believe she is the best candidate. We won’t support Obama even if Hillary asks us to because we don’t trust Obama. We understand Hillary will toe the party line. She is a party loyalists. We aren’t party loyalists. We choose country over party. And we vehemently believe that Obama spells disaster for this country. He has only been in the Senate 4 years, and spent the last 2 of those years running for President. This gives him effectively 2 years of “real world” experience, or lack thereof. And it shows. Since when was Iran not a “grave threat” to the US and its allies? When did the US decide to negotiate with terrorists? The man’s lack of understanding of the world in which we live is terrifying. So we vote experience, and McCain has it. Obama doesn’t.

I listened to a 50 year old married white woman call in to c-span claiming she was from NC and was voting for obama because he is so honest.
My first thought was does your husband wear a wife beater shirt.

I never doubted the intelligence of an opposing candidates voters before this election.

When a candidate sits in a church advocating hatred for other americans ,and some of your bffs think that bombing and killing americans is a good thing, or ripping off the people you are supposed to represent while giving you the money that could have given them heat in the winter I really have to wonder why do they hate america.

          • joe Bob

you people are so cute…None of us are hurling accusations about the many Clinton misdeeds

            • Tom Plumb

If she supported terrorist attacks on Americans, and funneled money to the middle east, she’s be excoriated.

I have never seen a group of trolls so fucking stupid as yours.

Really, this goes far beyond Clinton, and your lil tools can’t see past cheating.

              And you don’t get it.

              • Tom Plumb

And if I could just see some intellect behind the strunk and white, I’d be stunned.

                And amazed.

      • secularhumanizinevoluter

Let me break it down for ya skippy. We SUPPORT Hillary Clinton for President. Unlike y’all we’re NOT glassy eyed minions of braindead loolaide sippers. We actually THINK for ourselves. Senator Clinton is a loyal Democrat(more then can be said for BO &MO). If the DNC manages to hoodwink and bamboozle obamalamadingdong into the nomination and insist on driving the democratic party bus off a cliff, Senator Clinton will cross herself and STILL try to give the right directions. WE however are free minded, free citizens and have the right to REGECT your racist, homophobic, misogynistic, ANTI Democracy, ANTI American, dommestic terrorist lovin, CORRUPT, empty suit of a conman. See, it’s simple. So simple even an obamatard like YOU should be able to understand. Yer boy is toast. Now or the general election, yer boy is toast.

        • cc

I love the “obamatard” comment. hadn’t heard that one before. very good. I agree with all you say 100 percent.

        • Ann Shaw

There was a request on Hillary’s website to e-mail Sen. McCaskill about falling in line behind the presumptive nominee, so I forwarded this to her:

“Many of us who are registered Democrats will not be voting for Senator Obama in November. While initially I would have supported any of the three candidates, the tactics used against Senator Clinton and her supporters in this campaign were beyond abysmal. The denunciations of the Clinton base as “racist”, “illiterate”, “uneducated”, “bitter” and let’s not forget the ever-inferior “woman voter” are beyond nasty Rovian politics. It is a politic allied to the intimidation techniques, the propaganda and the repressiveness of McCarthyism. That’s the stench emanating from the Obama campaign and why I, in good conscience, cannot vote for him.”

I forgot to congratulate the numerous “blue collar” workers of KY and WV for making a stand against these tactics. The MSM and the Obama managers underestimated both the intelligence and the decency of the voters in both states. Who you calling “stupid”, stupid?

        • Skiron

“Senator Clinton is a loyal Democrat”

I dunno. Her “obliterate Iran” comments did not strike me as being very in line with Democratic thinking.

Neither did her pusillanimous vote to authorize military action in Iraq.

Nor her relying on the analytical skills of one Karl Rove to support her pitch of being a stronger candidate than Obama.

Nor is her getting chummy with the likes of Richard Mellon Scaife and Rupert Murdoch.

          Think I’ve made my point.

          • Hope

All of this goes to the same idea..doing what is right for the country (as in Hillary’s solid, pragmatic solutions) regardless of party affiliation. Common sense dictates we make decisions for the good of the country above any political party. No Obama!

        • http://reflections-in-tyme.blogspot.com/ Debi

I also agree, Obama cannot win a general election. Really, do you think those hillbilly’s in WV are smart enough to vote? I think so, smart enough to not vote for Obama, no matter what.

          http://reflections-in-tyme.blogspot.com/

      • http://lkcampbell.blogspot.com Lucinda

Because, and here’s something that’s hard to grasp for an Obama supporter, we support our candidate. We don’t worship her the way Obama supporters worship him. We still have minds and wills of our own.

        • John

I think that’s what’s throwing off the Obamabots: If Barack told them to jump out of an airplane without a parachute, they’d do it without question. Of Course, Master! And then what?

So, they can’t quite grasp this concept of supporters of Hillary making up their OWN minds and not just doing whatever Hillary says.

          • Hope

Do you think they will stop driving SUVs, and eating what they want or heating their homes because Obamabi says so? Maybe the SUV driver at Obama’s house this morning didn’t get the memo.

      • BernieO

Because he is not the nominee. There is no nominee yet.

      • Nellie

You logic is extremely flawed. Would you support Charles Manson or Ted Bundy as representative of how to treat women just because they had a “D” after their names?

Many of us here, including myself, will not support Obama because he is a slimy criminal who couldn’t get low level security clearance to work in the congressional mailroom.

He does not belong anywhere in our government – Period!

McCain, for all his flaws, loves his country, has served his country, and would not be an egregious danger to this country.

And if you need proof, just look at the archives here. If you are unable to comprehend the content of them, then there truly is no hope for you.

    • MI don’t count sez Hill

Why don’t Hillary’s supporters support her enough to make it to caucuses?

And please explain again (if anyone ever has) what Hillary meant when she said Michigan votes weren’t going to count for anything.

      Bosnian sniper got her tongue?

      • Left of center

Why don’t Hillary’s supporters support her enough to make it to caucuses?
Maybe because many Hillary supporters have to work 2 jobs so they can put their stupid, spoiled, Obama worshiping kids through college.

        • MI don’t count sex Hill

So you’re saying that Hillary supporters breed stupid kids?

          Apple, tree, falling far, etc.

But, again, why did Hillary say MI votes don’t count?

          Is she her own kid?

          • Left of center

No,what I’m saying is that it’s a lot easier for some college kid with little responsibility to get baked and go caucus for Obama than it is for a hard working Hillary supporter to go caucus for her.

            • Be realistic.

So college students are a majority of the population now? Wow.

Even if your lame attempt at an excuse was anywhere near true, it would only prove that Obama supporters are more able to GOTV on election day.

Sucks that Hillary supporters come up short in that regard, IF what you said is true.

But the fact is she just has fewer committed supporters.

              • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

But the fact is she just has fewer committed supporters.

                Fact? Where is your evidence?

                • jwrjr

Looks as though the Obama supporters are the ones who should be committed, judging from the ones who troll here.

                • It’s so over.

                  The caucus results.

Anyway, go throw your hard earned dollars to a multimillionaire’s losing cause.

                  See if I care.

              • Left of center

Republicans always win amongst men in the general election, and this year there is a good chance that McCain will win amongst women, so unless Obama plans on winning the general election with non gender voters, why are we still even talking about him?

                • so saddened

there are a few eunuchs out there for obambi.

              • usedmeat

No, the obama supporters who are in college have the time to attend a caucus whereas most Democrats are working or have other responsibilities. Therefore the majority of caucus goers could be college students, not that college students are a majority of anything. (Except twits :) )

                • Let it go. It’s over.

So Hillary promises to spend tax dollars to make sure even more twits can go to college? Seems self-defeating.

Anyway, why did college educated Hillary say it’s clear that Michigan votes aren’t going to count for anything?

                  Senior moment?

She’d been up til 3 am drinking shots with McCain?

                  • TeakWoodKite

more twits can go to college

and this speciem proclaims the “educated” BO supporters are “twits”,

And yes a harvard education does seem self defeating at times.

              • John

Good luck finding all those “committed supporters” come November.

              • John

Yeah, you’re right: if Hillary supporters were really committed, the nurses among them would have abandoned their shifts to go caucus. The moms would have left their kids without dinner or babysitters. The active military would have gone AWOL, grabbed a plane and come back home to participate.

After all, if the kids could sacrifice a night of playing HALO or getting tanked at the local watering hole, why weren’t Hillary supporters willing to make similar sacrifices.

You fail. Crawl back to Kos now.

              • BernieO

There is no comparison between getting out the vote for caucuses and elections. Many disabled and older people cannot go to a caucus but can vote in elections through absentee ballots. There are only a few hours for a caucuse whereas elections not only last an entire day, they also allow voting starting weeks ahead.
Also a lot of people had no idea that if their candidate won their state’s primary she/he could still lose the caucus and wind up with fewer votes. I follow politics very closely and did not know this. I also did not know that delegates do not represent an equal number of voters, so the person with fewer votes can still win the delegates. This is an insane, undemocratic system .

                • http://reflections-in-tyme.blogspot.com/ Debi

I agree, I moved to the western U.S. 2 years ago, from a place “where being poor was not a crime, and hillbilly’s are considered normal”… Anyway I had never been to a caucus, until this past winter. And boy is it different. for one thing it TAKES ALL DAY!! I am not joking. My day started by standing in line in the snow, for hours just to get inside, then you fianlly after about 3 hours get to go up to a table and they look up your name. It was then that you were put into another line. This one was shorter, only a 2 hour wait this time.

Then we were hearded into a room, meant to hold 1/3 as many people. Crammed in like sardines, we listened to speakers for another hour or so. By this time even the die hard 20 year kids are tired! then FIANLLY after 6 hours and man walks throught he room carring a large CARDBOARD BOX! People begin to swarm around him, stuffing the paper ballots in the box….. They are pushing and shoving one another to get to the box before the man leaves.. This is very easy for older or disabled people to do. The man carring the box holds it higher over his head, so that the 8 foot tall people in the wheelchairs can reach it better!

Then we are all pushed into another room where we all can sit, most of us did not have seats. Then we get to listen to people talk to try to change our minds. Then we all get to visit the man with the box again… What a wonderful time most of us had!!

The funny thing was even though I saw more Hillary supporters than Obama, he still won… It was a miracle!!!

                  http://reflections-in-tyme.blogspot.com/

              • http://dragonlady dragonlady

Well realistic, we will see how many she has in november.

            • cc

Also – don’t forget that elderly people and the sick can not stand outside a caucus site in line for a couple of hours and then stand inside for a couple of hours. the caucus format is a joke.

          • Tom Plumb

Because Obama cheated, lied, and messed with the caucus voters, and vote?

            See. you arent winning.

Bitch when you have to pretend you are, it gets so confusing.

            Ask Cheney.

            Loser.

            Stupid loser.

        • Strawberrybitch

Actually, you’d be surprised how many people are unaware of the fact that their states haves caucuses and only those that show up have their votes counted. Here in Washington state we have both and most people don’t know their ballets mean poopoo. When they find out, they’re pissed. Which is why caucuses aren’t a true representation of the will of the people. My caucus was over run with Obama bits whole took over everything and pushed older and more vulnurable people around. It was a mad house. But if you look at the primary numbers, they were much closer. And THAT was before the Rev.Wright dust up. He would have lost, big time if he’d been properly vetted early on. But hey, have fun in the fall when “Whitey” comes home to roost. If Barky is the nom, I going to have to vote for a guy who did put his life on the line for his country, not some limp wristed douche who is a racist.

          • Hillary=McBush sez you

I going to have to vote for a guy who did put his life on the line for his country, not some limp wristed douche who is a racist.

Do you really think obama if elected will do anything about it? Gee, how has his clone Deval worked out?
Why do you thing New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhoad Island rejected obama?
They have a preview of an obama presidency in the governor of Massachusetts.

              • mimi

To be precise, it’s Obama who’s the Clone, not Patrick.

            • Strawberrybitch

Obama said he would start bringing troops home in the first few months. Start bringing troops home….hmmmmm, no where do I see him say bring all the troops home ASAP. THEN one of his underlings spewed that Obama would KEEP 60,000 there. So which lie should I believe as someone nursing and living with a victim of the Iraq conflict?

            • Hope

I would think our troops would be so proud to hear you say they are dying for a lie. I bet they think they are fighting for the safety and democracy of our great nation. How do you account for Obamoron’s lack of patriotism? And by the way, any American Senator who does not vote for a war when the President tells them America is in danger is treasonous, however irrelevant, considering Obamaorn did not vote no, he didn’t vote (as usual). What does this fool stand for? Even wonder why Mr Muslim would not want to attack radical terrorists?

        • beebop

When do those RED caucus states EVER elect a Democrat? And you know that people VOTE in November, right? No caucus strong arming by the busload …. just sayin’ … and for those elerly people, they get to early mail their votes. Buh bye bamaboy, Hello President McCain …..

He sounds like a spoiled, obnoxious brat and I would just ignore him. Maybe the Obama Divide and Conquer Committee will give No Quarter’s assignment to someone whose tactic is to “make nice”, tomorrow.

        • Hope

Everyone already knows how Obama exploited the already flawed caucuses. You know it as well. Would you care to explain why subsequent , non binding primaries in caucus states have a very different outcome, much less in favor of the deceitful Obama. This is the new politics of untiy..ravage the system for all it’s worth. He is a seriously flawed candidate and nothing you can say will ever CHANGE that.

The United Steel Workers lobbied a hard GOTV via Bonior and his labor favors for Edwards.
            And it still wasn’t enough.

You haven’t answered why Hillary said that it was clear that Michigan votes wouldn’t count for anything.

Obama promised his Florida supporters he’d work to seat them.

                Lied to them, didn’t he.

                Bye-bye Florida.

              • cc

and you have refused to answer any questions over why Obama’s controversial, racist and dubious history should be overlooked, just so the latte liberals can proclaim to the world – “see I voted for a biracial man who hates the white blood coursing through his veins.” what a joke that is.

              • Hope

Sure Hmmm, Hillary is a loyal democrat trying to support the flawed Democratic party, knowing every vote counts (remember 2000?) she strongly advocated a revote, since Obamoron didn’t want that, what other recourse is there? EVERY VOTE IN THE US COUNTS….the very premise of DEMOCRACY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m sure you feel YOUR vote should count, how self important.

          • Ai1een

Please tell me you not that ignorant. Obama has college kids and white collar workers – get a clue – of course they have the opportunity to go caucus – especially when they’re being told to cut class and go caucus for Obama. Clinton has a profoundly higher amount of blue collar voters – they are not able to tell their boss to stop the factory assembly line while they go caucus. However seeing as how HILLARY has the higher popular vote, it really blows your “Hillary supporters don’t support her!” theory out the water.

Also in regard to MICHIGAN. Obama, Richardson and Edwards all took their names off the ballot for one reason and one reason only…POLITICS. At that time they knew Hillary would win that state and they didn’t want it to affect the momentum of their campaigns. The agreement was never to remove their names off the ballot – if it was, why was Obama’s name still on the ballot in Florida? He ran non-stop commercials there for 2 weeks and still LOST. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/11/AR2007101100859_pf.html

I see Obama’s idiots are out tonight.

Caucus are a farce — your boy Obama organized thugs and bullies to dominate and drive the Hillary supporters OUT.

He spent MILLIONS training his thugs in every sort of bullying technique.

Just the sort of techniques that Obamabot trolls like YOU are using.

You guys NEVER tell us what Obama is for and what he’s done — only bull shit and bullying.

Keep it up and remind us what we HATE about Obama — dumb ass troll.

Now go home so your mom can finish your potty training.

        • Wooly Bully

          He spent MILLIONS

Why was Hillary’s fundraising piss pot poor?

You don’t hate things about Obama — you hate Obama.

          Namely because he’s a:
          (a) black
          (b) man
          (c) who isn’t Hillary

But do you hate him more than you loathe McCain? Are you going to vote for him or Nader?

Would you like a diaper for your tears?

          • so saddened

wooly bully troll plays the race card – such a surprise when an obamaloon plays the race card. /sarc.

wooly bully is full of shit with his pathetic excuses as to why we hate obama.

in response to wooly bully’s question about do we hate him more than mccain – yes, we do.

then wooly bully asks if we’re going to vote for him or nader. obamaloons are so pathetic in their recent attempts – they know we’re not going to vote for obama, so they’re hoping we’ll stay home, vote for nader, write in hillary, whatever. the one thing they’re desperate to prevent us from doing is voting for mccain. they know that our voting for mccain is what’s going to send them and their asshole candidate home as losers in november.

will be voting for mccain, you asshole!!!

            • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

              will be voting for mccain

Me too. But I’m very optimistic about Hillary! Screw these trolls with their anxiety about the general election. Obama doesn’t even have the nomination yet.

              • so saddened

agree. definitely hillary. but if she’s not on the ballot, definitely mccain. and the obamaloons can scream and yell and whine and lie and bullshit and play the guilt card and play the race card and play the fear card and….whatever other crap they come up with. won’t change a damn thing.

hillary or mccain. no other option.

                • hi

I am sorry that you hate Obama’s supporters so much that you will vote for McCain even after Hillary Clinton herself has said that such would be a “terrible mistake” for any of her supporters. Why, you hate Obama supporters so much that you don’t even seem to need to remain connected to the moral framework that propelled your candidate -

                  • Hope

Please tell us more about the moral framework?

It’s not about Barack or his supporters. This is bigger than Barack.

We’re on the front lines of a war, and if you don’t know it, wait until the race riots show up on your door.

                  • Ramjal

You’re so ignorant, naive and delusional! You just swallow all the crap about him and denying the obvious that your idol is the Manchurian candidate fielded with the only end in mind: THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICAN DEMOCRACY FROM WITHIN.

From his family background to his political roots in Chicago, Obama is the personification of the threat that McCarthyists and ’50s Red-baiters could not imagine would ever attain the level of political menace he now poses at the USA. From investigative accounts, starting with his parents (Asia Times article “Obama is the Mother’s Best Revenge Against the America She Hated”) Obama’s upbringing was grounded on his family’s communist and leftist inclination. His mother (reportedly a fellow traveller) met his father, a Kenyan exchange student in Russian language class, married him and later left, but is reported later to have published several articles in international communist publications, like the Comintern-founded journal, Problems of Peace, Freedom and Socialism. His stepfather was reported also as having been connected with the Indonesian Communist Party which during Sukarno’s time, had the largest membership outside of China & USSR.

Early on, Obama’s mentor and early father figure, was Frank Marshall Davis, well documented in No Quarter as a member of the CPUSA (Communist Party of the Uniteds States of America) and who may had been responsible for Obama’s move to Chicago and had introduced him to all the leftist, radicals and extremists that he is now associated with, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, and ex-Wethermen terrorist Bill Ayers and his wife.

There you are Obamorons! Connect the dots and explain why despite his being mum about his ideological bent, and opportunistic allusions to Reagan, all the notable left-wing groups such as the Communist-oriented The Nation magazine, Barbara Ehrenriech’s DSA (Democratic Socialists) are in lock step with the Obama movement. Wake up you morons and idiots!

Gladly. If there is a match up between Obama and McCain I will pick the lesser of two evils McCain. No writing in. No Nader. And millions of other Hillary supporters will vote for McCain under that scenario.

Thankfully Hillary is still in this and you whiny trolls can’t force her out. See you in August.

I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. But my gut feeling is, Obama is bleeding out. He’ll be leaking clear fluids in a few more days. I just can’t believe that the Dem elite will try and prop up Obama’s dead, bled out corpse at the podium in Denver. Kerry holding up Barky’s left side while Dean props up the other. Donna Brazille trying to hide her ampleness behide the podium, while reaching up trying to move Barky’s mouth. “HOPE, CHANGE, ahhhh, YES WE CAN!” It’s like some bad ‘Weekend at Berney’s’ movie. But I swear I can never vots for such a poor excuse for a progressive male such as Obama. Let Iraq and the economy tanking be forever hung around the neck of the republicans, NOT OURS. Which is what will happen if Barky gets into the White House. Hillary can take it back in 2012. We’ll be waiting.

Oh that’s right, IT ACTUALLY was for a ROCK GROUP that performed for free that day. Any Obamabots want to comment on that propaganda? There has never been a presumptive (albeit self proclaimed) nominee who has been beaten so badly. Imagine if McCain lost by those numbers after he was considered the presumptive nominee. It’s embarassing…face it, average Americans not only don’t like him, they don’t trust him and will NOT vote for him.

And you must own putting forth an unqualified candidate who just was told by 3 out of 4 Democrats that they will not vote for him.

The party leaders have decided that placating the AA voters is the only thing that matters, so they are putting forth a lie that the majority of delegates is all that’s needed. Obama is lying tonight, as a matter of fact.

That’s not the case. It’s not the system or how it works, but he’s very good at lying.

People aren’t going to put up with that in a president.

He’ll be slaughtered in the Fall.

In a year that Dems should have just walked in the front door, they hand it to a 70-year old Republican.

I dislike obama (hate is a word reserved for the obamatroids fellings about Hillary)because:

(a)His supporters played the “Bradley Effect” card to explain his loss in NH.

(b)When that didn’t work they went to “She Cried” (Jay and the Americans)

            (c) A chauvinist.

“Why was Hillary’s fundraising piss pot poor?”

Gee. I guess the WALL STREET ELITE didn’t like her as much as they liked Obama, to whom financial corporations such as Citigroup and JP Morgan donated tens upon tens of thousands of dollars. Obama got his money from Wall Street, yet claims he’s not about corporate lobbying. What a joke.

            • Hope

Also, consider his fundraisers with ties to terrorist groups,ex lobbyists, spouses and employers of lobbyists, indicted campaign finance criminals, etc., etc. Hmmm….

Obama is half white do you forget…also I loathe Obama’s associations with radical terrorist groups. I loathe his complacency to sit in a racist church for 20 years and expose his two small children to such hatred of white america. I will vote for John McCain because above everything he’s gone through, even torturued as a prisoner of war, he LOVES this country more than anything else. why are you here? don’t you have a big “mission accomplished” party at the Obama’s to attend?

          • beebop

Gee. The race card. What a surprise. Imagine. From Obama. Guess that explains everything. Maybe why he is the only remaining candidate who voted for the Bush Cheney energy bill? Maybe why despite all of the efforts by Michigan and Florida to revote, he’s the one who said no? Sure. When all else fails, just pick the cheap answer. Sure. That’ll work. America just loves to hear how bad she is. Tell you what. Keep that little refrain going and Obama’s stats will look WORSE than McGovern.

Calling ground level campaign volunteers “thugs” is a particulary unhelpful thing.

I liked my (Seattle) caucus. And the Hillary supporters there? Hell, they weren’t anything like you meet online. For all her ballyhooed “blue collar” support the highest educated and frequently most sophisticated people in the precinct caucus were her supporters. They were civil and decent people in my neighborhood and I very much enjoyed meeting them. They were outnumbered, vastly, it is true, but they were definitely outstanding figures, who took the time to explain to the entire group what their views on the nomination were and why they chose Clinton. We wave at each other on the street when see each other these days.

Not at all like the anonymous vitriol online -

            your dribble is boring…

      • catriley

In response to your question about caucuses.

My Mom lives in Washington State, as do I. She lives in a large senior complex. She’s a big Hillary supporter (she posts here at NQ!)

She did not go to the caucus. Only 1 person from her large building went. Why? Because all but one person there felt they did not have the stamina to attend a caucus and deal with the crowds. Many MOST of these seniors vote by absentee ballot for the general election because they can barely get to the grocery store, let alone a gymnasium filled with overbearing and loud politos. The one person that did go from her building was totally intimidated and worn out from the experience, and would never do it again.

Caucuses disenfranchise voters. The two caucuses I attended since moving here, have convinced me I’ll never do it again. This time was the worst! Being swarmed by Obama supporters, sent into a packed gym and told to “find the hillary table in the middle somewhere and sign in”, and being accosted by loud male Obama supporters trying to convert me. It’s a clusterfuck designed for the male college students Obama buses in for those things.

Also, shift workers (you know, the backbone of the Democratic Party) cannot take hours off to go and caucus. Single parents who work full time, firefighters, police, nurses, etc. All left out of the process.

EVERYONE should have the right to vote in the primary. Frankly I think it’s a violation of the ADA to have these things.. as most disabled people cannot attend, as most venues have 1 or 2 disabled parking spots, and often no seating.

The cacuses are a joke. They are suitable for only the most die hard, and the most available. In states with a primary vote and a caucus, Hillary kicked ass on the regular votes.

        • Buck up.

They are suitable for only the most die hard

You don’t want a nominee whose supporters are die hard & available? What if it snows on election day? Hillary voters will say it’s too difficult to show up?

Hillary kicked ass on the regular votes.

How many percentage points is she ahead by in those?

guess i’m not surprised to see an obamaloon saying crap like this. after all, they keep telling us older ones to hurry up and die so they can take over. (guess they don’t have parents or grandparents…).

actually, the cauci and the rest of the crap in how this year’s primary season was set up to give the nomination to obambi are just another of the thousands of reasons that obambi must not win the presidency. the president ends up controlling the setup for the next primary campaign, to ensure it’s set up again to benefit only him. a self-fulfilling disaster.

Excuses, excuses, excuses! My god, if Hillary REALLY had a problem with the RULES, why did she agree to play by them? It’s only now that she’s guaranteed to lose that she and her lunatic fringe want to CHANGE the rules.

Caucuses are nothing new. They’ve been used to determine the Democrat’s nominee for a LONG time. Now you want to say that they “disenfranchise” people and are bully pulpits against the weak by the strong? Get real! The more she play the “victim card,” the less pity we have for her cause. Caucuses favor the candidate with the most zealous support – advantage BO. Primaries favor the candidate with the broadest base of support – advantage HRC. The general election is not a caucus, it is not proportional representation, it is WINNER TAKE ALL. In a BO – McCain matchup? Advantage McCain.

Most Republican primaries are winner take all, for just this reason – to find the strongest candidate under the SAME scenario they will face in the general. Its 270 to win, nothing else matters.

        • splashy

Caucuses favor the candidate with the most zealous support

Nope, they favor those with the most young, healthy, time on their hands, low obligation supporters.

If your supporters are working, have family obligations, can’t easily get out because of disabilities or age, then you are screwed with caucuses.

But, it appears Obama supporters think those folks shouldn’t be allowed to vote. You know, the nurses, mothers, fathers, waitresses, janitors, hotel workers, firefighters, first responders, and all those other folks that can’t get out for caucuses. They don’t count!

      • McKinless

Did I mention that they might HAVE TO WORK???

Sheesh. Fucking idiots. College kids on vacation can do some bong hits and go caucus…bur REAL people…they HAVE TO WORK.

        • Keep whining.

So Hillary is only supported by people who work nights and have kids but can’t afford babysitters?

Doesn’t sound like much of a base of support.

          • Strawberrybitch

            Donna Brazille, is that you?

          • Hope

It’s a base that has cast more votes for Hillary Clinton than any other democrat running for nominee ever.

      • splashy

Many Clinton supporters have to take care of family members such as children or the elderly (women do most of this), have to work evenings and/or weekends, are elderly themselves so don’t get out in the evenings, or just don’t have the time or energy (after working a physical job all day) to spend mucking around at a caucus because they just have too much to do.

Those that work 9 to 5 jobs, or that are students, and are able to get away for several hours because they either have help, don’t have children, or are off on weekends, are more able to caucus.

        It’s very simple, ya know?

      • Cath

        Dear MI Don’t Count…

Read the following article from October 2007. Hillary explains quite clearly about why she considered Michigan when the other major candidates did not.

Here are some excerpts, which show Sen. Clinton’s political savvy, as well as her sensitivity about ignoring voters.

“…She said any snub to Michigan could hurt her _ and all Democrats’ _ chances to defeat the Republicans there…”

“Clinton said she wouldn’t campaign there, but isn’t about to hurt her own chances.”

“If you look at the some of the states we have to win, the margins have been narrow. And it wasn’t, in my view, meaningful, but I’m not going to say there’s an absolute, total ignoring of the people in all these other states that won’t come back to haunt us if we’re not careful about it.”

        http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/11/AR2007101100859_pf.html

Is the Obama-supporter mantra of “Hillary said Michigan votes weren’t going to count for anything” mostly just “spin” (the big lie?) put out by the Obama campaign?

      • Ai1een

You ask why Hillary supporters didn’t think enough of our candidate to come out and support her in caucuses? Hmmmm… It might have something to do with the fact that Hillary didn’t tell her college student supporters to cut class, she didn’t give them a free i pod and she didn’t provide a bus to “ship them in” or KOOLAID for them to drink along the way. You see most of Hillary’s supporters were working their asses off at a REAL jobs, some of them 2 & 3 jobs as a matter of fact, while a lot of these caucuses were being held – you know, the jobs that are helping PAY for those students’ education. We’re the ones who don’t appreciate the Obama message to youth, “Cut your classes kids, it’s ok, it’s Barack Day”! A lot of the Hillary supporters might not work white collar jobs where they can take off during the day any time they want – a lot of Hillary supporters might even be single parents who can’t come to caucus because they have to get off work, go pick up their children and …oh yeah… get home in order to FEED THEM.

      • Nellie

First of all I suggest you read the comments here and over at Talk Left about how Obama people called others and lied about the date, time and location of cuacuses.

Then there is the Obama cute habit of stealing sample ballots, and eliminating the word “Sample” and then turning them in with Obama’s name on them. OF course those busloads of people Obama brought in from out of state, would slam the doors and lock them against Hillary voters at caucuses.

This list goes on ad infinatum, and does not include the formal complaints from states, like the over 2000 filed by Texas with the DNC.

Hillary said Michigan votes won’t count, but they should!

Before making declarative statements that have no basis inreality, you should use google – it is your friend. While you are at it you may want to check out what the people who worked with Obama in Illinois think of him.

Of course if a low life like Obama who chronically needs to cheat, lie, steal and break the law is Okay with you, then that tells us all we need to know about your worth as a person.

Paranoid and delusional. I used to think that only described Dubya, but honestly, these days one can’t tell the difference between the two! Especially now that she’s in Karl Rove’s bed and Fox News’ sweet embrace. And she calls herself a Democrat…

If Obama gets the nomination Clinton supporters vote for McCain. If Hillary gets the nomination Obama supporters riot and it blos back on Hillary and McCain gets the nomination.
    Ain’t life grand?

    • http://deleted AnninCa

That’s how it looks to me, too.

I don’t see a way out, frankly. He really, really should have warned his endorsers about Wright.

      • usedmeat

Wright, hell, he’s small potatoes compared to Ayers. Expect to see Ayers doin’ the Boot Scoot Shuffle on the American flag 24/7 courtesy of the republican party.

        • street_parade

I think the Repubs have four corners to their ‘Story of Obama’ if the Dems are dumb enough to give him the nod.

          Black nationalism > Wright
          Ties to radicals > Ayres
          Corruption > Rezko
Contempt & bitterness > Mrs. Obama

Three of the four corners converge in anti-Americanism (Wright, Ayres, Michelle) and two on racist beliefs (Wright, Michelle). Leaving old Tony (who also raised $$ for GW Bush) to complete the tale with good old quid pro quo Chicago corruption. They’ll add a little spice to the story with Raila Odinga — to give it an international flavor.

It would be interesting to see the reaction of the Obamababies when the RNC handbook they are forever accusing Hillary of using is actually pulled on them. I believe the word for the resulting carnage is evisceration.

      • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

There’s no way he can win now.

Correct. And the hesitance to shut Hillary out tells us ultimately when the delegates find an escape hatch, they will pull the plug on Obama.

We had the beginning of the mutiny this week too. Nobama groups forming all over the nation saying Hillary or McCain. Ferraro and Koch saying Nobama.

The writing is on the wall. If anyone needs inspiration watch Hillary’s speech or read the transcript from tonight. She lays out the winning strategy and its quite simple: hold your head up high and keep doing what we’ve been doing, donating and volunteering.

You can’t really be this dense can you? The system that the democratic party has in play gives more weight to the traditionally disenfranchised and repressed voter. For those of you who don’t have a real vocabulary this means African Americans who live in large cities. Obama actually got more delegates because AA’s voted for him and Hillary was penalized for just the opposite reason. The system is stupid and completely batshit insane, which is why despite having the superior platform the democratic party very seldom wins the presidential election.

      • Northwest rain

It is a racist system — white rural votes count less.

I believe this is Lani Guinier model

Google — Lani Guinier & Beyond Electrocracy —

You’ll find some of the rational behind the screwed up DNC way of counting votes.

        Google = Electocracy

Lani Guinier was nominated by Bill Clinton to one of the agencies concerned with discrimination — the GOP has a sh*t fit and Clinton had to choose someone else.

She is now at HARVARD — and was at COLUMBIA.

      • waitingforgodiva

The system allegedly rewards Democratic loyalist areas with more delegates. Rural states like OH, PA and WV are swing states. So areas with a high black population like most cities and the southern states get more delegates. Obama solidified black support behind him to ive him a competitive advantage in the primaries. This does not help in the GE when blacks only make up 13% of the population. It means he can count on that support and we can try to guess from the primaries which states he might be able to flip. So far, it only looks like VA, OR, CO and NM.

Oh, I heard ALL the memes. How Oregon voters were college educated as opposed to Kentucky voters.

How it’s all Hillary’s fault when all Obama’s negatives will come back to haunt him. How Florida was “defiant” in bucking the Dem rules.

Nary a mention of how the Dems in Florida were given a choice of moving their primary up — or dumping the chance to have a paper trail on the vote.

  • StatBabe

Larry, the thing that really gets in my crawl is NOT just the issue of primaries versus caucuses versus the bastardized primary-caucus system that they have in Texas–it’s the fact that the entire dynamics of the Democratic presidential primary have changed! Since the Jeremiah Wright videos surfaced and Obama threw his white grandmother under the bus, the Obama campaign has been hemorrhaging support from the white working class. I’d love to know how Obama intends to remedy this situation, if he advances to the general election. After all, these are voters that he will NEED in the general election! Now, I’m no fool–NEITHER Hillary nor Obama is likely to be competitive in states like Kentucky. But the truth of the matter is that Obama’s problem with the whites throughout Appalachia is NOT limited to “ruby red” states like Kentucky–his problem extends to Pennsylvania and Ohio, which are two states that the Democrats MUST win if they want to take back the White House.

At this point, I honestly cannot see Clinton becoming the Democratic nominee for president since the Democrats are too cowed by the Obama campaign’s cries of racism to buck the will of the pledged delegates, no matter how effed up the system is. And let us not forget the Obama campaign’s early whining about how “unfair” the system of “Super Delegates” is! And does anyone think for one second that the Obama forces are not going to fight seating the Michigan and Florida delegations tooth and nail?

What I really hate about this is that we are very likely headed toward a McBush presidency. After McBush’s asinine endorsement of Bush’s incendiary comment about “appeasement” to the Israeli Knesset, I find the prospect of McBush becoming president particularly unappealing.

Although I dislike Obama and honestly feel that he lacks the requisite experience to become president, I will hold my nose and vote for ANY Democrat in preference to McBush. We definitely do NOT need any more Republicans that will continue the policies of George W. Bush, and that’s what McBush seems to be promising.

For all those who keep talking about voting for McBush as an alternative to Hillary, just THINK about what you are saying! In particular, think about the makeup of the federal court system–the U.S. Supreme Court, in particular. And I am NOT talking about abortion rights or any of the typical wedge issues–I am talking about the overarching power of corporations. See Jeffrey Rosen’s article in the New York Times here to get a nice overview of the unsavory “corporate friendly” environment that exists on the SCOTUS now. Also, think about the prosecutorial abuses of the Bush Justice Department which will NEVER be rectified with another Republican in the White House.

I’m a Hillary supporter, and I really hate what’s happening. But that doesn’t change the math, which doesn’t favor Hillary at this point. HOWEVER, I am not about to support McBush if Hillary does not become the nominee, and it bothers me that so many here seem hellbent on supporting McBush if Hillary loses the nomination. Exactly, what does that accomplish? I can understand those who want to write in Hillary or simply refuse to vote, but this business of supporting McBush is really cutting off one’s nose to spite his/her face!

          • http://deleted AnninCa

I believe all voters should vote their conscience.

      • StatBabe

No, you haven’t–I do not post anywhere else. All of you who seem so anxious to jump on ANYONE who doesn’t walk in lock-step with you is disturbing.

You’re bashing on a Hillary supporter–the difference is that I can add! Yes, it’s still possible for Hillary to win the nomination, but after the shellacking that she took in North Carolina, it’s becoming increasingly unlikely for Hillary to win.

The entire Democratic system for picking a presidential nominee is totally screwed up, as Cokie and Steve Roberts astutely explain in the article posted below. Unfortunately, we are stuck with that system this year. Hence, as the Roberts’ point out, it is likely that the Democrats are headed for a train wreck in the presidential election because of Obama’s victories in these bogus caucus contests very early on–BEFORE the Reverend Wright videos came out or ANY vetting of Obama was conducted. Instead, we had the MSM drumming into the voters’ heads that Hillary’s “negatives” were “so high” FOR MONTHS! Small wonder that Obama managed to rack up quite a few “victories” before people figured out what a sham Obama was! Now, we have the SAME MSM telling us that McBush isn’t so bad after all. On that point, I beg to differ–I don’t care for Obama, but I really LOATHE McBush! If the election is between Obama and McBush, I will be VERY tempted to either write someone in or sit out the election, but voting for McBush is NOT an option! Even Hillary Clinton acknowledges this so I am not sure why I am getting bashed for stating that I will NOT support McBush and questioning the willingness of so many Hillary supporters to turn to someone whose positions are diametically OPPOSED to Hillary’s positions–McBush, that is.

        • TeakWoodKite

StatBabe, I hear what you are saying…The issue would then come down to the fact that one choice, BO, would ruin the country in the same way he screwed the Democratic Party and McMcain who may well be unacceptable in many ways but DOES understand a great deal more than BO does, and it is unlikely he looking to carjack the presidency. (carjacking is done by all races so trolls need not respond)

But its over. Why would anyone spend their money now?

      • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

Because they don’t listen to whiny trolls. This race is far from over. Hillary just kicked Obama’s ass in a swing state you have to win to become president. You trolls have to realize something: Obama is about to have a nervous breakdown soon. And Hillary is doing amazingly well. He can’t take the pressure too much longer. Obama expected to knock Hillary out long ago. In fact he was counting on it because of all the skeletons in his closet. Hillary messed up his plans and now more dirt will come pouring out about Obama and there is not anything he or you whiny trolls can do about it.

      • http://deleted AnninCa

Oh, she won’t have to spend much. He’s stopped the state campaigning now.

He’ll move to the national race. She’s not going to concede, however. She’ll stay put until the MI and FL meeting on the 31st.

Then, who knows? She may not concede and go to the convention but basically not campaign. That’s plausible.

agree he has no balls. if there’s a real fight, he’ll fold like the wuss he is. but if he keeps getting the dnc’s and msm’s canonization treatment, he might get the nomination without much of a fight. if so, gotta go with mccain and work for hillary in 2012. one thing i’ll never do is vote obambi.

hillary or mccain. no other option.

      • IronMan

She can never win in 2012 unless he gets support in 2008. Her political future is tied to his. You think that everyone else will forget how the party split and revolted. Naw buddy, it doesn’t work like that. If he’s toast, she’s toast!

News flash, Tinboy, Hillary could quit the Democratic party today and take half of it with her. She would then pick up moderate republicans and then there is no way any Democrat wins in 2012.

          • so saddened

and i so wish she would do just that.

sadly, i think she’s loyal to the party. even though the party has certainly never been loyal to either her or bill.

but if she did leave, she’d take half the party with her and dean and brazile and pelosi and especially obambi would be left holding an empty bag and wondering what went wrong with their coup attempt.

            works for me.

hillary or mccain. no other option.

        • TeakWoodKite

Her political future is tied to his.

She is not tied to anything or anyone. But Obama IS tied to Rezko,Ayers, Auchi, Dorhn and some really wonderful corruption in Chicago…

good luck with that. In fact one of the benefits of McCain winning is that Fitzgerald gets to finish the job.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

What an odd, odd year. That’s what the analyst on the radio just said, too.

Obama is the nominee, short of something dramatic happening before the convention; and then he’ll lose to McCain because Obama is simply unacceptable.

That sounds about right. I’m not surprised. And Oregon will vote for Hillary in the GE. Hillary has been smart to talk about party unity now. She is planning for running in the GE. • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

Landslide? Whatever the margin is and last I saw it was 14 points, she won be an actual landslide in Kentucky, yet another swing state you have to win to become president. Nice spin attempt but you lose.

      • hi

This is very unsurprising, but she won by an absolute landslide in both Kentucky and W.V. Oregon and Washington State are a team in that we normally go for quasi-insurrectionist candidates like Howard Dean or now Obama. While the delegate arithmetic is the real meat of the matter, I see Kentucky and Oregon as cancelling the other out in a sense – as much as the Northwest wants Obama, Appalachia hates him. The Northwest wants the insurrectionist candidate, Appalachia is some deep ways not ready.

      • TeakWoodKite

Landslide = 40% or 32%, not 16, because it will be under 10 when all is said and done.

  • brandy

I’m sure that someone else has pasted this very insightful Cokie and Steve Roberts article, but worth re-posting.

    Why the Dems could lose
    By Cokie and Steve Roberts
    http://www.JewishWorldReview.com

Democrats seem intent on nominating Barack Obama, in the face of mounting evidence that Hillary Clinton would be the stronger candidate against John McCain in November. And they only have themselves to blame.
Yes, the Clinton camp made strategic blunders that allowed Obama to score heavily in Republican states where few Democrats vote. But the real culprit is the party’s stupid, self-destructive nominating system, which has two major flaws.

First, it was designed to anoint a nominee by early February, far too early in the process. The result: Obama built up an insurmountable lead at a time when he was still largely unblemished, untested and unscrutinized. The past six weeks have brought tougher media coverage, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s tapes, the candidate’s ill-considered comments about “bitter” voters and a wave of second thoughts among key groups like union members and white Catholics.

Second, the nominating system was completely incapable of reflecting these shifts. Not only were few states remaining on the calendar, the rules of proportional representation made it almost impossible for Clinton to catch up.

Since Feb. 19, seven states have voted. Clinton has won four — Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island —building up a popular-vote margin of 483,000. Yet her total gain in delegates was exactly five. In Texas, she won by more than 100,000 votes, but because of that state’s ridiculous rules, she actually came out five delegates behind.
How can that outcome possibly be fair? How can it possibly benefit the party?

Wait, it gets worse. Obama built up sizable margins in small states that Clinton was foolish enough to concede. His delegate advantage in Idaho, Kansas and Louisiana — three states that will never vote Democratic — was a total of 38. By contrast, Clinton handily won three large swing states — Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio. And yet, because of party rules, her combined marginal gain amounted to 28 delegates.

How can it make sense for Idaho, Kansas and Louisiana to have a bigger impact on choosing the Democratic nominee than Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio? Add in the exclusion of Florida and Michigan, two crucial states that favor Clinton, and there’s only one word for the Democrats’ system: crazy. And Republicans are gleeful.

Three months ago, they were convinced that Clinton was the easier candidate to beat, and she’s hardly an ideal choice, not when more than half of all voters tell ABC pollsters they don’t like or trust her. But many GOP insiders now see her as a tougher, more tenacious rival, and the latest polls support that judgment.

The Associated Press-Ipsos survey gives Clinton a 50 percent to 41 percent edge over McCain, while Obama ties his Republican rival. As GOP pollster Steve Lombardo told the AP: “This just reinforces the sentiment that a lot of Republican strategists are having right now — that Clinton might actually be the more formidable fall candidate for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that Obama can’t seem to get his footing back.”

One of those strategists, Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma, added that Obama “is by any definition very liberal, to the left of Hillary Clinton, in a center-right country. That is very, very helpful to us.” Already Republican candidates in North Carolina and Louisiana are running ads linking Democrats to Obama and his “very liberal” policies. And that’s only the first trickle in a tidal wave to come.

Obama can make some strong counterarguments. While Clinton might be the better candidate in traditional swing battlegrounds, he can “expand the map” by bringing in new voters, mainly young people and blacks, and making the Democrats competitive in red states like Colorado and Virginia.

The election map, however, has been starkly static during the Bush years, with only three small states switching sides between 2000 and 2004. Winning Ohio with Clinton is a safer bet for Democrats than capturing Colorado and Virginia with Obama.

So why don’t Democratic leaders and superdelegates face these facts and shift to Clinton? One reason is race. It’s true, as Obama says, that being black in America has hardly been a political asset, given the fact that he’s the only African-American in the U.S. Senate.

But at this time, in this party, being black is an enormous asset. Given America’s long, torturous path toward racial justice, many Democrats simply cannot imagine denying the nomination to the first serious African-American candidate for president.

From a moral perspective, that’s a noble judgment. From a political perspective, it could cost Democrats the White House.

That’s it in a nutshell–too many Democratic “Super Delegates” fear being branded as “racists” if they do not go along with Obama! What really irks me is that no one is really talking about how much the race has changed since the media exposed some of the chinks in Obama’s armor–his minister, his support from a former domestic terrorist, his wife, his unsavory relationship with Tony Rezko, and of course, his “bitter” remarks. For the life of me, I cannot see how Obama can win this election, and that’s what hacks me the most about the whole thing. In as much as I do not care for Obama, I really LOATHE McBush–particularly the way that the bastard has been joined at the hip with George W. Bush since Bush became POTUS back in 2001. We definitely do NOT need 4 more years of Bush’s ill-conceived policies!

I just wished that there were some recognition of the misogynistic campaign that has been waged against Hillary. Oddly enough, people cannot even hint that some people might reject Obama because of his racist minister and his racist associations, yet it seems to be perfectly acceptable to use all sorts of sexist commentary and insults directed toward Hillary Clinton without any fear of repercussions. What a crock! It just goes to show that women have to be twice as good at ANYTHING to prove that they are half as good as their male peers–and it’s even WORSE in the corporate world and the world of presidential politics.

    • TeakWoodKite

What is accurate is the electoral map. The problem is the Dem’s are thinking the world is flat when reading it.

I understood that the delegate count was allotted with the total vote received and the awarded delegates were not larger than the total registered democratic population in that state, similar to the general election. It appears that the lessons of the last four election cycles have fallen on deaf ears. Power is being transfered because of failures not advancements.

The concept of a caucus was better suited to the days when people got on their horse and buggy and having refreshments at the farm next door. The template for that forum has lost the required etiquette long ago.

    • so saddened

      yep.

      • hi

That’s fine, just don’t imagine that John McCain in his political career has had any connection to any moral framework Hillary Clinton has had in her political career. They are apples and oranges, and her’s is definitely the sweeter of the two fruits between the two. Your vote is your choice, truly, but don’t claim you are standing for health care reform, the rights of women and children, etc.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

The Dems will take Congress. They initiate legislation.

But I don’t think it matters much. I can’t see how Obama has even a chance in the Fall.

          • hi

He has a chance because any Republican candidate for President this year has a great big 8-year albatross around his neck. The odds are slightly in favor, all-in-all, for the proverbial egg sucking hound to beat McCain in a squeaker come November.

            • http://deleted AnninCa

True, but I see Obama’s albatros as much worse.

He’s not going to get many moderate or conservative Democrats.

They have sent the message loudly.

              So they’ll move to McCain.

Look at KY. It was a complete blowout.

              • hi

      • hi

And believe me, I understand how you feel. My personal choice for candidate was basically not allowed by the media to speak aloud in public or in debates and was treated with offhand contempt, and had to withdraw months ago. I know how the disappointment feels, especially when you know your candidate has strengths that are offhand dismissed by the cynical, sleazy, and frivolous media, pundits, etc.

        • TeakWoodKite

    • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

Far from over. Hillary just kicked Obama’s ass in a state you have to win to win the presidency.

      • hi

Let’s hope you are wrong because Kentucky has gone Republican five out of the last seven elections including going twice for George W. Bush, indicating that it is entirely unlikely to go for any Democratic candidate this year. Half of Clinton’s voters are claiming that they will go for McCain if she is not the nominee, indicating that Kentucky is a red state in presidential elections and not one that any Democratic candidate at all should rely on because it is a foregone conclusion that Appalachia is a long way from voting on health care reform and would rather feel that war on the Muslim infidel is taking place than anything else -

        • so saddened

it goes dem for clintons. did for bill. will for hill. will go red if obambi’s the nominee.

          • hi

I respect that Clinton (Bill) did carry the state but I note that George W. Bush carried the state twice and his reluctant heir, John McCain, will probably carry Kentucky too unless the disillusionment with Republicans is so bad in Appalachia that any Democrat even Dennis Kucinich would win those states in a general election.

  • hi

In other words, no, Obama is not a “terrorist sympathizer” and no he is not a Muslim and no he is not particularly crooked in comparison to the typical DC politician (including the pardon sellers themselves) and no he is not secretly being bankrolled by Middle Eastern parties and no he is not a mysogynist thug hell-bent on returning the dowry to mainstream society. Hillary will endorse him with a month and to a vast extent the Democratic Party electorate will unify behind him and vote for him because the alternative will be John McCain. Near as I can tell, there were a number of aspirants to the Democratic nomination this year, and anyone who supported any candidate besides Obama was disappointed. So what are you going to do with your disappointment? Throw a childish fit and vote for McCain, demonstrating that you have no connection to any moral framework that Clinton ever claimed to have a connection to? Stay home, and let McCain win, out of spite, because your disappointment is somehow special?

Or will you get over yourselves, and vote for the better of the two candidates in the general?

The level of immaturity and silliness in this primary has got to come to an end. A lot of high-flying egos have been really over-the-top this year and it hasn’t been good for any of us.

Speaking that is, as someone who personally can only vote for Obama because he did not actively help start the Iraq war by voting for it, probably only because he wasn’t in office to do so. It’s not like I supported the guy initially, myself. I was quite disappointed when the only serious anti-war candidates were dismissed by the media contemptuously several months ago. But I got over that -

    • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

Hillary or McCain and you will never convince most of us here otherwise.

    • so saddened

we’ll vote for the better candidate – mccain.

and your pathetic attempt at “shaming” us into supporting your asshole candidate won’t work. so stop the cut and paste jobs and peddle your crap elsewhere. we’re not stupid here.

      • hi

Which is fine – just don’t pretend you have any connection to any moral framework Hillary Clinton ever based herself in, because John McCain is her antithesis. I haven’t cut or pasted anything, likewise. All I pointed out is that he is basically the exact opposite of her on reproductive freedom, equal rights in particular rights for women and children, health care, foreign policy, tax policy and economic regulation, any environmental policy imaginable, civil rights in general, etc etc etc. She herself has said that any supporter of hers who votes for McCain “would be making a terrible mistake”.

    • usedmeat

Speaking that is, as someone who personally can only vote for Obama because he did not actively help start the Iraq war by voting for it, probably only because he wasn’t in office to do so.

There is only one person responsible for starting the Iraq war, he sits in the White House.
John Edwards vote yes on the AUMF, John Kerry voted yes on the AUMF, Hillary Clinton voted yes on the AUMF.
When Bush invaded and turned Iraq into a clustrefuck Edwards and Kerry bailed on their vote, just like they bailed in 2004. Only Hillary stood resolute because she knew a show of solidarity behind the POTUS to convince Saddam we meant business was the only thing that would get the UN inspectors back into Iraq.
The fact that obama trumpets his anti war speech show his lackof acumen on international security matters.

    • hi

According to Quinnipiac mid-May Obama trails McCain by 1%, a statistical dead heat at the beginning of an election. Listening to what Karl Rove (a McCain advisor) says on Fox News may feel good if you are momentarily angry at the Democrats for not nominating your candidate but in truth Rove is probably full of shit. He didn’t have to leave the White House for no reason and besides, until he became a useful figure to point at he was Public Enemy Number One on this web site. How odd that Larry and Susan now quote him figure and verse given that they use to demonize him the way they are demonizing Obama today. Now they act like he is their best friend or some sage figure in the media world because he is put a map up on Fox News indicating Hillary would win.

      • Strawberrybitch

      • http://deleted AnninCa

Obama isn’t even carrying North Carolina against McCain. LOL*

So much for the “Southern” remapping.

It’s just a shame for the party how this is coming down, but the party’s method of awarding delegates makes it virtually impossible for her to catch up. Then, it comes down to the SDs, so the party leaders are calling the shots.

Well, we saw how Pelosi lied to the public about how SDs “should” determine their vote. Dean and Brazile have undermined Hillary every step of the way.

        So…..voters/schmoters….who cares?

Therefore, they will put the weak guy forward to get humiliated in the Fall.

And if he keeps talking, he’ll even lose the states that should be a slam dunk.

        • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

Keep telling the DNC what they are doing is political suicide.

      • http://deleted AnninCa

He’s playing a different role. That’s all. And he’s excellent at political analysis, obviously.

I think the conservative analysts have been a great deal more interesting this year to listen to that Russert or Matthews or those other jerks. They just scream and play gotcha games. Boring.

        • usedmeat

That the thing, the grown ups all gravitate to the republican party. The may be crookeder than a dog’s hind leg but they are mature enough to know how to win.

          • http://deleted AnninCa

Well, I’m not a Republican. I’m an Independent.

But analysts are pretty easy to discern when they are doing nothing more than acting like a PR firm for a candidate.

            I think PR is boring.

I like real analysis, good and bad, for my candidate. Dish it out over Bosnia. But then let’s not mince words about just who played the race card, either. LOL* PR folks just shmooze everything.

The conservative analysts didn’t have a horse in this race, so they actually were a great deal more objective.

Which fantasy do you live in ???

  • satin.sheets.feminist

Hillary is not a sexist, while Barack Obama is.

  • Nobama

I heard something on the teevee about the DNC becoming the George Soros party and that Obama’s people will take it over before the convention. If that happens, I’m definitely leaving the party.

Hillary Clinton: The Other White Meat. How The DNC ate the Clinton Campaign.

    http://www.liberalrapture.com/2008/05/was-fix-put-in-on-clinton.html

Some of you may recall that Obama said Israel was a constant sore on US foreign policy. You also know that there’s nothing original with Obama so where did he get that particular talking point?

Obama cribbed “sore” metaphor from his Palestinian buddy Rashid Khalidi

    http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Politics/12858.htm

I’m angry as hell about what’s going on here with Donna Brazile, Howard Dean, the DNC, George Soros, the complicit media, and the whole rigged deal for Obama. There’s a vast left-wing conspiracy here, a cabal, that seeks to screw half the Democrats in this country but really the whole country.

Susan, if you and Larry really want to do some investigative reporting that could make the news to a broader audience, you might want to get to the bottom of this. I know you already have some of the pieces but it really needs to be put together in some cohesive way so we can get the whole picture of what’s going on. Answering some of the questions posed in John’s article, above, would be a good start. I don’t think anything else is as important right now. I’d like this scandal to break before it’s too late. Millions of people would like to know WTF is going on.

  • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

Notice to trolls. You can’t spin your way out of reality:

Hillary just beat Obama’s ass in an important swing state you have to win to win the presidency. She beat his ass in WV, IN and PA recently as well.

Hillary will not concede and whine all you want, she doesn’t have to. You can’t force her to quit no matter how hard you pound your fists.

Those videos you claim don’t exist but you are shaking in your boots about could surface at any time.

There is a mutiny occurring in the party inspired largely by the racist, sexist and ageist tactics of you trolls. Ferarro and Koch have threatened to vote for McCain. These are party elders and this is a serious issue. Add to that Nobama groups are forming all over the nation who will vote for McCain if he is running against Obama. You can’t guilt, shame or use fear of Roe v Wade to sway us. We are on to your silly game.

Just because Obama declares victory and some in the MSM will go along does not make it a victory. Obama looks pathetic claiming that and that makes you look equally pathetic.

We don’t care about threatened riots. We will not be blackmailed.

Your fake niceness by some of you lately we spit on because it is too late for you to be nice. We think every one of you are nasty shitheads and that view will never changed based on the abuse we have been taking from you over the course of this campaign.

Hillary is standing tall and will keep going as long as we support her financially and keep fighting for her. And we will keep doing both.

So trash up this blog all you want. It only makes you look weak and pathetic. We are on to you. Your presence here only serves to inspire us to carry on and defeat you and your evil master.

  • Bottom Line

    There are only 3 options:

    (1) Hillary is foolish to say Obama is a better choice than McCain

    (2) Hillary is lying when she says Obama is a better choice that McCain

    (3) The fools are those who won’t vote for the Dem nominee whether it’s Hillary or Barack

    Take your pick.

    • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

She has to say those things. It has no bearing on the battle at hand. Can’t pick from your list because you don’t have your list in the proper political context.

      • You picked.

You said “She has to say those things,” implying that she doesn’t actually believe what she said.

So you’re saying Hillary is a liar.

        • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

No I am not saying she is a liar. Since you like bottom lines: Hillary does things and I don’t have to agree with everything she does. She can feel free to support Obama if he wins the nomination. And I will campaign hard for McCain to stop Obama under that scenario. But this is far from over and I’m confident she will still get the nomination.

          • Keepin it real

But if she doesn’t, you will dishonor her by not voting for Obama?

She says Obama is better than McCain.

            Are you saying she’s wrong?

It’s 11:06 pm, pacific time. I’ve been watching the returns from Oregon since the polls closed.

I’m over 50 years old and I have followed elections since 1972. The 16 point margin in the vote total for BHO has not changed on over 2 hours!

I have never, ever seen this in any election.

Am I the only one noticing this? In the last 300,000 votes counted, not even a 1% change in the margin?

    • so saddened

obambi has some very interesting ways of “winning” his states.

like cook county – i see dead people.

he can get votes in every crooked way he wants. he’ll never get mine.

hillary or mccain. no other option.

    • yheitman

I commented on this to my husband about 30 minutes ago. I asked him how come the percentages didn’t change at all from when I looked earlier and only 51% of the total was counted versus when I looked and 68% of the total was counted. Didn’t make sense to me either. Something fishy is going on in far left Oregon. Somewhat kidding. I live in Washington state and my husband who has lived here his entire life says that Oregon and Washington have always been considered far left states and many years ago were even considered Communist. Interest huh? We’re one of the few stupid states that has a primary and a caucus.

I didn’t know about the primary not counting for sh** in my state until about 5 minutes before the doors to my closest caucus place closed. Since then I’ve become a lot more politically educated. I’m a well educated professional and I didn’t know. How stupid am I?

    • http://deleted AnninCa

It’s probably due to the counties still coming in. Why? You are suspecting voter fraud?

      • so saddened

where obambi’s involved, fraud is always likely. not voter fraud – obambi fraud.

  • yheitman

A lot of good the DNC’s “moral perspective” of nominating a black candidate is going to do because either way Obama isn’t going to be elected and the Dems will lose the White House once again.

What the Obamabots can’t understand is that my country comes first and one Party doesn’t have all the correct answers (I mean look at the stupid DNC)! In a true Democracy a person will vote either way depending on what is best for this country. You don’t HAVE to vote Democrat/Republican! You vote on what is the best choice. Why are some people on this site whining because they can’t vote for McCain. Hold your nose and do it!

If Hillary is not our nominee, a write in vote counts for sh**. Do the math. A million votes for McCain equals a million less for Snobama. That a TWO MILLION VOTE spread. Gore lost the presidency by 537 votes so every vote that McCain doesn’t get is a plus for that lying, cheating fraud.

I know we’ve suffered through 8 years of that current idiot in the White House but it would be easier for me to accept 4 more years of McCain than vote Snobama into the White House. McCain is more of a centrist than people give him cedit for and I know he has the best interests of this country at heart. I think a lot of the stuff he is spouting now is because he’s trying to court the far right. Remember him in 2000? He was really very moderate. He’s an old man and he’ll only be POTUS for 4 years vs. eight whole years for Snobama and then 8 more years after that because most of the time the VP gets the next cycle.

In four years Hillary will still be young enough to have another go at the Presidency but in 8 years (she’ll be 68) and I don’t think she’d do it.

Coward Dean and Donna Brazilenut are idiots. They’re driving this bus right off the cliff and doing it with full knowledge that they’re going to go off. What a bunch of lemmings.

    • Sammie

I’m pushing for McCain between now and November. You better believe it.

It’s either McCain or white slavery, and rule by European banking magnates.

      • yheitman

Here, here Sammie. I agree with you. If Hillary doesn’t get the nod, I’m going for McCain full bore.

I’ll do everything in my power to make sure McCain gets elected. I’ll donate, I’ll organize, I’ll phone, I’ll canvass but one thing I won’t do is let Oblowhard have the White House!

        NEVER, NEVER Obama!

McCain ’08 (if Hillary is not our nominee)

Four years from now, after a McCain four years and Obambi is teaching somewhere, she’ll call us supporters again. And you my friend will be a supporter of hers, too and wishing you’d been smarter this time out. Karma.

    • so saddened

yheitman, excellent points. and totally accurate.

as far as i can tell, many of the obamaloons have actually figured out that we’re not going to vote for obambi. so now they’re trying to minimize the damage by at least keeping us from voting for mccain. they’ve apparently figured out (or been told – they don’t seem smart enough to figure it out themselves) that if we vote for mccain, we raise the number of votes obambi needs, but if we just write in hillary or stay home, obambi won’t need as many votes. precisely why i insist on voting mccain.

if obambi pulls off this nomination farce, then we have to deal with the reality that it’ll either be obambi or mccain. if that happens, it’s simply got to be mccain. obambi is too dangerous. way too dangerous.

      • yheitman

What is so stupid is that we’re relatively unimportant. Bloggers aren’t exactly a core group. *haha

What they should be worried about is how in the world will they win when moderates-conservative Democrats are turning down Obama in droves.

When Koch says he’s going to vote for McCain, then I think we can see how this is all going to come down.

        It’s a disaster for Obama.

        • so saddened

know what you mean. after all, if we’re spending all this time on a primary contest, we’re probably the more committed dems. if we can’t stand obambi and plan on leaving the party if he’s nominated, just imagine what the less committed dems who just take an interest every now and then will think and do?

given all that’s happening in the world, the repubs should be quaking in their boots this year. but thanks to obambi, they have hope. guess obambi’s the hope candidate after all, just not in the way the obamaloons thought.

          • http://deleted AnninCa

You could not make this year up if you tried! I’m sure they assumed McCain would lose. They didn’t even really bother raising money until recently when they saw how this was coming down. They probably thought they would hold onto more congressional seats.

the so-called journalists have completely given up any legitimacy. their ratings should tank to the point that they all lose their jobs. only then might, just might, their corporate owners get the message that we want journalism with integrity. and if they don’t get the message, we don’t need them. part of the beauty of the net is that we can do just fine without them.

Why waste everyones time responding to these trolls? all they want to do is take up time and space, just ignore them and their stupid racebaiting and questions they already know the answers to.

    • yheitman

Yep, you’re right! My husband and I once had an ex-wife that wouldn’t leave us alone and a psychologist finally told us “do not engage her.” If she calls, hang up. If she shows up at the door, close the door in her face. Ignore her.
We did and it took awhile but it worked. If an Obama troll comes here, just pretend they’re not here. If no one responds what are they going to do but go away. Try it. It works.

    • Mike

      Absolutely correct.

Ignore them, they are like a one-note samba. Same rhetorical refrains over and over.

I call them the I generation. Strictly programmed for ignorance, irritation, inanities, and insults.

I just scrolled back up to look at some more posts and boy those Obama trolls are really trying aren’t they?

The current theme is “Hillary wants you to vote for Obama and are you going to disrespect her and not do as she says.”

What bunch of hypnotized idiots. READ MY LIPS.

NOPE ON THE HOPE! OR IS IT NOPE ON THE DOPE! EITHER WAY SOUNDS GOOD TO ME BUT IT WILL NEVER BE OBAMA! You done disrespected and trashed me and us Hillary supporters too much!!!!!

yheitman, so true. amazing, isn’t it, how the propaganda of the day appears in its various forms under its various names, but in its usual concerted and predictable fashion? guess the obamatrolls don’t realize that, unlike them, we weren’t born yesterday.

Sorry for the length but this was a column in the Kansas City Star newspaper:

Diuguid’s column: Memo to Hillary Clinton: Please don’t quit

By Lewis Diuguid, Kansas City Star Editorial Page columnist

Last summer, I shook Sen. Hillary Clinton’s hand and gave her my business card when she met with the Trotter Group of black columnists. I wished her well in her presidential bid.

Ever since then I’ve received e-mails from her, Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea Clinton, with video links promoting Hillary Clinton’s historic run for the Oval Office. A half-dozen arrived last week.

    I hadn’t replied until now.

    Dear Sen. Hillary Clinton:

I have greatly appreciated all of the e-mails from you and your family. I have only two words to share with you about your valiant quest to become the 44th president of the United States and the first woman to hold the highest office in the land:

    Don’t quit.

A ton of pundits and political operatives have asked you to give up. Ignore them.

They have asked you to step aside for the good of the Democratic Party and let Sen. Barack Obama stand as the presumptive nominee. His rise to that post would be historic, too, making him the first African American to go that far.

The pundits and political operatives repeatedly have professed that you would be doing more harm than good to the party if you don’t surrender now. But for all of your supporters, the country and our way of life, I say don’t quit.

It doesn’t matter whether women in the United States have seen you in person, heard you in the debates or voted for you in the primaries or not. What matters is every woman who believes in America needs you to stay in the race all the way to the Democratic National Convention on Aug. 25-28 in Denver.

Every girl needs you to go the distance. You have come too far to fold now. For every woman’s and girl’s sake, don’t quit.

Men and boys need to witness your perseverance, too, and know that the force of your will is in the hearts and minds of every female. Such drive, determination, duty and character have helped to make this country a superpower.

Even though no woman has been president up to now, every woman has given endless amounts of sweat, blood and true grit to make this nation what it is today.

There would be no America if women had folded under the strain of child birth or if women hadn’t endured the misery of scratching out a living from the land, traveling across the vastness of our countryside. Women have been treated like chattel and second-class citizens, working in sweat shops, remaining in the shadows endlessly serving others and maintaining the home front while their sons come home from the wars.

Still, women make only 77 cents for every dollar that men earn.

Don’t quit. Our men and boys need to see you go the distance.

Many other countries have had women leaders — Germany, Israel, Argentina, India, the Philippines, Great Britain and Pakistan. For the sake of women and men all over the world, don’t quit.

After eight, long, horribly regressive years of George W. Bush as president, the world needs to see a better image of America. They need to see how progressive the people of this country truly are. For their sake and ours, don’t quit.

People need to see a real convention with all of the political wrangling and elbowing. So many conventions in the last 30 years have been neatly staged.

The power elite control the outcome. Give the convention back to the people. They need to see politics being made like sausage from the squeal to the plate. For America’s sake and our way of life, don’t quit.

    Yours truly,

    Lewis

Just when the country needed us most. Just when the Repubs were down for the count laboring under the most despised president of all time. Just when this was a slam dunk and we could have easily taken the WH for 16 years.

Another group of knuckle dragging, arrogant, Rove-style, shit-for-brains, power grabbing jackasses show up.

This is the very thing we are trying to get rid of.

I hear now that Tweety, Russert, Dean, Pelosi, Brazile, etc. are through shitting on us and want to kiss and make up.

KISS THIS — HRC or McCain!

      Thanks

    • http://www.despair.com/idiocy.html Smilin’ Jim

I just studied the CNN election map of Oregon. The areas Obama won were centered on college towns. The most telling examples were from the Eastern parts of the state in the rainshadow of the Cascades.

As you correctly imply, this is the elitist vote.

See you at the credentials committee.

      Welcome to Stalingrad, Obama worshiper.

      • Ben

I thought US spent half a decade fighting Communism? You people want to invoke the sickle and sythe?

If half the crap on this website was more widely circulated, your candidate would get more trashed than she would have done anyway at the GE.

Over half the country hates her guts. She would habe been the single largest reason for stopping the collapse of Repulican Congress/Senate members.

Doesnt matter because your madame isnt going to get within spitting distance of a GE. She, her entitlement and her bitter voters can take the long road back to hicktown.

You’d be smarter to turn off the noise and focus on Hilary winning the White House. Save your energy and avoid the future worry. If you really think HRC is the one, let the DNC know about it. Let them know you want all votes to count in all states. Caucus/primary/pledged/unpledged – focus on what YOU CAN CONTROL.

    STOP THE FUTURE WORRY! (+) = (+)

    3. obamalamadingdong is a lying, racist, homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic, conman, demogog with no actual convictions willing to say anything to anyone at anytime.

    Which is it?

    Answer…ALL THREE ARE CORRECT!

  • http://lkcampbell.blogspot.com Lucinda

I received a survey form yesterday from the DNC. It said that I was chosen from Democrats in my town to fill this thing out. You better believe that I gave them my opinion.
Question #3 – How likely are Democrats to win the White House in 2008. I checked “Not Very Likely” and wrote in, “If Barack Obama is the nominee.”
Last Question – Has the news media been biased? I checked “Bias Toward The Democrats” then scratched through the word “Democrats” and wrote in “Barack Obama”.
At the bottom where I could give other comments, I wrote, “Count the votes in Michigan and Florida. The only fair contest is one where all 50 states have a voice.”
On the last page, they asked for a contribution to the party. I resisted telling them that I give my spare change to Hillary.

  • granny

It seems to me that if Obama didn’t actually recieve votes to win the states that caucus and he didn’t win the votes in the districts of certain superdelegates that endorsed him, then how can he win in November? Are Hillary’s supporters supposed to just say “count me in” after the treatment she has received? I think not. Yet Obama, the media and half the dem party treat her like she is a nuisance. Every big win is squelched by the media and the facts that show she will win are ignored. If you head over the the conservative blogs, you will read that they are so happy to be running against Obama. They are already plotting the course to victory. We are definitely living in Wonderland.

  • thenana1

Instead of feeding the trolls, we should be talking about the issues, lord knows the bots are not, they are to busy trying to shame us now into voting for obami. We should be discussing ways to prevent this sort of shit happening again,we should bediscussing how best to get Hillary into the WH.

If Obama’s people want to run on fear let them, there is no reason to allow it here, that they play the racist sexist cards is their choice, that issues are not important to them is their problem, so lets not make their problems ours.

    HILLARY WELL DONE!

  • http://doublejointedfingers.blogspot.com/ Cyn NY

    Congratulations, Hillary!

And don’t feed trolls. Wading through their inane posts is bad enough without having to wade through their replies.

  • Maya

I have a simple answer to that and it would be nice to have a civil converstation because the claim to the popular vote is false. If she is worried about votes being counted what about the cacaus states in which the popular vote isn’t reported so we would not be counting and someone in FL or MI or PR would get more of a say than us…so how is that fair?

and not everyone worships Obama a lot of us have reasons why to support him over Hillary it’s simple just like there is blind support on her side there are people with real reasons on the main issues.

  • Debbie

This campaign has shown us just who the boss is, and it clearly isn’t the voters.

HRC is my candidate, but I don’t care what she says. Her loyalties are to the party, but not mine…not anymore.

BO is a liar, fraud, and a consummate politician who is only where he is because it has been orchestrated to be so.

I’m done; the Dems will get no vote out of me beyond one for HRC.

  • EyesOpen

    Larry,
Is there any analysis out there that correlates the delegate and superdelegate pledges (since the caucus states) against the voting results? I suspect, but can not validate without this analysis, that although the voters are saying yes for Hillary the delegates and superdelegates are moving in the opposite direction. Case in point, the superdelegate from W. Virginia who just pledged for Obama makes no sense based on voter choices. If we could say in the last two months, x% of voters in these states have voted for Hillary but y% of delegates and superdelegates have supported Obama there would be an even stronger case to scrutinize the delegate system results.

  • Ben

My, my, this website is full of people having a hissy fit isnt it? Is this an indication of the type of future we could expect under a Clinton Administration. Well like the last Clinton Admin in fact.

Please by all means throw a tantrum, throw racist slurs at Obama, accuse Obama supporters of drinking koolaid etc.

BUT dont you dare call yourselves Democrats. Being a Democrat isnt about anyone candidate – its a political philosophy; one running counter to the facist doctorine being peddled by the Republicans.

Democratic Party is about creating a fairer society, one where good education is available for all, healthcare is available for all, ensuring a fair taxation policy is applied.

On that topic both Clinton and Obama have identical policies. And you people are willing to turn your back on all this, and vote republican…. just because your candidate may loose the nomination? And you still call yourself Democrats?

    • http://deleted AnninCa

You’re in luck. In protest, most of us have resigned from the party and are now Independent.

      Happy now?

You may be, but Obama is sweating bullets.

Educated – Learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, positive judgment and well-developed wisdom. I guess that is why the educated are voting for Obama! They have the positive judgement and well developed wisdom to see through the Clinton BS.

However, reading the comments on this site I guess he was dead on when he said there was a bunch of bitter people out there. I guess you can become even more bitter over the next 4 years, whomever wins in November if won’t be HRC.

    • mimi

Let me be frank, I intend to give Obama a real understanding into the concept of bitterness come Nov should he be the nominee. I’m also going to show him and his supporters how utterly and mindlessly stupid they were in behaving as they did. How idiotic it was to burn bridges and then cry about not being able to cross back over them now that they need to. I’m going to help the Democratic Party with a refresher history lesson:
      1968, 1972, 1980, 1988, 2000, 20004, 2008.

Now go someplace and make yourself useful.

  • jbjd

Senator Clinton earned my vote. It’s hers; her name is on it. If she determines not to use my vote to support her candidacy for the Office of President of the United States then, that is her choice. However, she cannot transfer my vote to anyone else. Because my name is on it, too. And I am the only one who decides who gets my vote.

Maybe these trolls are part of the assigned 400 bloggers supposed to make nice with us to get OBamass votes. They aren’t being very nice though, so they can go crawl back under their rocks. The Democratic party is leaving us by cramming this inept sexist whining candidate down our throats. If anything is said to disagree with him he cries racist, but he has not mentioned a word in support of Hillary over the blatent sexism by his camapign staff and the media. Then he goes on a real whine when someone scutinizes his wife’s comments. Sorry trolls, but I don’t want a black racist or a sexist in the White House. I can see the Black Panthers at their state dinners with a misogynist rap band playing. However, he will go down just like McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis, and Kerry all losers supporting a loser.

  • http://www.despair.com/idiocy.html Smilin’ Jim

The nomination system the Democrats use has a 30% success rate since McGovern & Frazier rigged it. That’s after the tweaking that occurred as a result of the McGovern and Mondale disasters.

My chances are 50% better shooting craps.

These two candidates are now so evenly matched in delegate and popular vote count that no matter who wins, 50% of the Democrats lose and the Night Of The Long Knives begins. McGovern’s delegate count was twice as big as Jackson’s but the Jackson people utterly shafted the campaign thereafter. Teddy Kennedy’s campaign advised Democrats not to vote for Carter against Reagan but to vote for the third party candidate. We all know how that ended.

Now 40-odd percent of Clinton supporters polled will vote for McCain if the convention selects Obama, insuring yet another year of Presidential loss. The Democrat Party will suffer a 50% split and another generation of Reagan Democrats. Beware unintended consequences: These Democrats-turned-Republican formed the zygote of the Neoconservatives.

The Roberts Family article about how the early primaries put a gun in your mouth is the frosting on the cake.

Fugazi or Fubar, this selection process is a smoking ruin. Tweaking it further would only rearrange the rubble.

The Denver convention will likely select Obama. Two months of further disclosures about Obama could turn the convention. A real donnybrook in the Rules and Credentials committees could also turn the outcome. It’s never wise to absolutely predict a future event.

However, sometimes the dragon wins. My advice to those still committed to the party (I’ve been registered as an independent since the Mondale disaster) is to roll with this punch. Your chances lie in 2012 (and is why Clinton should not quit) but first you must obliterate the McGovern-Frazier Commission’s fairy tale romance with the caucus.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

      Great post…..thanks.

I so agree about not tweaking the system. This is far too complicated now.

If a meteor strikes and Hillary takes the nomination, then I’d suggest a complete leveling.

  • Christine

I think white people should be completely outraged! CNN and MSNBC labeled thse who voted for Clinton as “racist”, “low-class”, and “uneducated” voters. And the sexism is even worse. How come when over 90% of African Americans vote for Obama it is perceived as pride. They are voting because he is Black–why isn’t this labeled a “racist vote”? I’m Aferican American, and I support Clinton because of the issues that effect my (and my kids) life. If I’m offended at what I hear and read–I know that white people must be extremely irrate! I find that attitude to be completely justified. I’m going to have a hard time voting for Obama.

Gee … a Rush Limbaugh straw man, nobady said anything about not counting caucus states. What they said are caucus states do not reliably produce a winning candidate in the general.
It doesn’t make any difference who agreed on what. Florida and Michigan’s delegates will have their votes counted according to applicable DNC rules. Not the rules Dean and Pelosi want to make up as they go. You know, like giving 10 of Hillary’s Michigan delegates to obama.

Obama voted for Cheney’s energy bill, HRC did not.

  • beebop

    Patrick,

McCain voted against it as well.

If you’re not willing to understand that America’s dependency on foreign oil is part of the problem, you are not willing to do the tough work to get us out from under foreign influence.

What did he say when HRC asked Bush not to go to China for the Olympics: “Its very hard to tell your banker that he’s wrong,” Obama said, after talking about the need to restore America’s stance in the world, “And if we are running huge deficits and big national debts and we’re borrowing money constantly from China, that gives us less leverage. It give us less leverage to talk about human rights, it also is giving us less leverage to talk about the uneven trading relationship that we have with China.”

Since the call was in protest for the treatment of the Tibetans, I was initially stunned by the lack of concern for human rights, but the real message — the financial message — is even more stunning.

  • Patrick Walker

Obama voted for Cheney’s energy bill, HRC did not.

Obama has lost a lot of his anti-war “street cred” when he rushed to endorse Joe Lieberman over Ned Lamont. If we recall, Holy Joe was the biggest backer of the Iraq War in the US Senate.

On the issue of trade liberalization, he’s to the right of HRC. HRC has put the kabosh to the next ro9und of WTO “Doha “talks. Obama has basically said a full-steam ahead. Something I didn’t even know until yesterday.

What’s funny is that the street protesters in the 1990s who now support Obama should realize he’s their actual enemy, unless they’ve sold out like their parents did.

It blows the mind when you think freemarketers like Bhargwati absolutely *love* Obama.

    http://blog.foreignpolicy.com/node/8327

  • Patrick Walker

Obama continues to fund the War as if he voted for it, just as other Senators have to fund the war because they “own” it.

If I may be so forward as to call you that, it just goes to show you that Hillary really cares about our dependacy on things that can be changed.

    HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT!

  • Patrick Walker

The Cheney oil bill did nothing to assuage US desire for oil. On the contrary, it reinforced oil as a centrepiece of American energy concerns.

Obama was either corrupt enough, or stupid enough to vote for that stinking pile of crap.

  • Patrick Walker

Wow. Obama wants to continue on the WTO free trade path and Hillary doesn’t.
