Clinton Campaign Raises $22 Million in April (AND Voters Want Race to Continue)

CNN Political Ticker / Exit polls: Voters want the Democratic race to continue (62%)
_______________________________________________

Fundraising pace represents campaign’s 2nd best month of the campaign

The Clinton campaign tonight announced that it raised approximately $22 million in the month of April.

“Senator Clinton’s game-changing victories last month turned the tide for this campaign and resulted in an outpouring of grassroots support,” said Campaign Chairman Terry McAuliffe. “Just like Hillary, our supporters continue to fight. The support for Hillary continues to grow with each month and we are so thankful to the army of supporters who have assured that we’ll have the resources needed to win the upcoming contests.”

Included in the $22 million total, representing the campaign’s second best fundraising month to date, is $10 million raised by the campaign in the 48 hours after Hillary’s significant Pennsylvania victory. This total is in addition to a loan to the campaign of $5 million.

Additional details will be available in the campaign’s FEC report, to be released later this evening.

YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW!

  • Kourian

If Hill had Soros and the Pritzkers she’s be showing $50 million a month. But she doesn’t want them on board anyway and neither would we.

  • Strawberrybitch

I do hope one day to have some sort of Get Together, kind of like ‘the blog who I won’t mention’ yearly thing. Especially when Hillary gets the nod. Talk about one hell of blowout. Nothing like a shin-dig where the women can hold their liquor and the men aren’t afraid to hold their heads while they puke later.

  • Tom Plumb

I agree, they are among the dirtiest of the dirty.

So glad, she managed to be what John Edwards wanted to be, for the most part.

    Good for her.

  • workingclass artist

    LOL…funny that

Here is an email list of Super Delegates again, for those who have yet to tell them what you really think, please do. The truth that obama is sunk because Hillary supporters will never support him has not sunk in. I feel they need to hear more of why we support her and only her. Thanks to all who join this effort.

and we won’t have to worry about guys who are sexist pigs. real men can vote for the best person in the race without being emasculated.

    go hillary guys!

thank you for being liberated men.

  • Kourian

OK I got the list and manicured it and can send out letters to these people pretty easily. What do you want me to write?

  • Kourian

Real mean prefer liberated women you know. ;)

  • AF catfish

I pray NoQuarter posts a diary of Obama’s “victory” speech because it was such a disaster! He just told us we’re more inspired than we’ve been in years. He demanded (not asked) demanded unity. He said Hillary has inspired a lot of people, she’s struggled and we admire her for that. (OK I need an exact transcript.)

He said change means turning off the TV and the video games. He said this tonight!

All in his too-loud preachery cadence. I thought Democrats wanted the religion kept out of politics.

  • http://www.hillaryclinton.com President Hillary Clinton will defeat Obama and his troll army!

He is a piece of work. A legend in his own mind.

  • DMW

Isn’t $11 million of that $22 million her donation to herself? If that’s the case, she really only raised $11 million. And according to her $10 million was in 1 day.

  • Northwest rain

    READ what Susan wrote again.

  • http://none Peg

All in his too-loud preachery cadence.

Did any of you catch Jon Stewart’s interview with Obama? It was some time after interviewing Hillary. At the end Stewart said something like ‘talk to me in hopespeak. I’ll say a common phrase – like the check’s in the mail – and you say it in hopespeak.’ And Obama did!

And I wondered after they cut away if Obama thought, wait a minute – what did I just do?

A friend of mine likes to say ‘you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t’; but Obama sure made it sound good! It would be great to use in a video.

  • Jeremiah “God Damn AmeriKKKA” Wright

I sent out my letter and here is what i wrote:

    Dear Super-Delegate,

You are burdened with the awesome responsibility of protecting your party and those who support your party. You have been given the power by the bylaws of our party to exercise, in primary elections precisely such as these, the measured wisdom and careful judgment of a party elder to ensure that our nominee not only represent the will of the PEOPLE in our party, but to ALSO ensure that we put forth the Best, Most Qualified, Most Electable Candidate for the November election. Yet your grave responsibility extends further than that. Your responsibility demands that you ensure with your vote, that the candidate we put forth is the Best candidate for this country and for all of its people beyond the November election. You must look at the candidate fully and not let yourselves be convinced by poetry when the prose is lacking.

You already know Hillary Clinton. You know her qualifications, her dedication and her tenacity. There is no better champion for the American people today. There is no point in citing the multitude of analysis that show her beating McCain but Barrack losing to him. You are familiar with each and every one of them I am sure.

But do not be swayed by the overly vocal fringe elements that are trying to take over our party and have been pushing to call this race since the first day in Iowa.

If Hillary has the popular vote total at the end of this process you MUST vote for her.

THAT is the will of the people.

And Yes that vote total MUST include Michigan and Florida. You dare not disenfranchise the voters of two states of the union. The United States of America has 50 states, not 48.

The Liberal intra-party race-baiting pundits have you scared but don’t ever forget who your constituency is. It is not Caucuses where the loudest screamers and intimidators win. Nor is it back-room deal makers who are happy to cast you as racist if you disagree with them or point out the obvious statistics of how people are voting.

It is not justifiable that 1000 people = 1 delegate in a caucus state while 20,000 people’s votes = 1 delegate in a primary state.

The DNC only has itself to blame for this royal screw-up.

Be warned, while some super-delegates such as Richardson and Edwards may be willing to compromise what they stand for in exchange for back-room promises, positions, email lists for fundraising and cash, there is not enough money to buy all the votes of the American people.

While in the tank media spin-doctors masquerading as newsmen babble about leg shivers and pimping Chelsea, and two faced party insiders are willing to denigrate and discard the legacy of president Clinton, cast him as a racist to further their candidate, malign and denigrate Hillary for being a woman, and try to cast anyone who doesn’t agree with their extreme liberal agenda that is threatening to hijack the party as uneducated racist hicks, old coots who will be dead soon anyway, and bitter gun clinging and bible thumping people who the DNC does not need to secure the presidential election, we know better.

And we hope those of you still waiting to decide do too.

Stop buying into the inevitability argument. It’s a sham. You have the power with your votes to stop this. If Hillary claims the popular vote lead, I hope and pray that the “testicular Fortitude” that she has demonstrated in fighting for us till the very end gives each of you the balls to do the right thing.

If not then we will, for the good of our country and future generations, have the balls to vote for John McCain.

A very concerned Democrat, but more importantly an American.

  • HillaryMadamePresident

He wants to be President so he can make everyone conform to certain behaviours? How very Communist.
He missed his calling, he should have been a Preacher and just concentrated on cleaning up his neighborhood. He and his wife are both scary dudes…when it comes to hints of what they have planned for the American people.

  • HillaryMadamePresident

    Very impressive, well written letter.

  • Jeremiah “God Damn AmeriKKKA” Wright

Everyone who feels strongly about this should write a letter to that list of superdelegates in the previous email. I formatted the list for Outlook in case anyone wants to copy and past it. Here it is:

She is 31 million $$$$$$$ in debt

  • Jeremiah “God Damn AmeriKKKA” Wright

I recieved one response so far and while i wont reveal who the SD was, i will quote one line from his email. the only thing he voice issue with:

“Threats by some to defect to John McCain reveal to my mind an unbelievable amount of sheer stupidity. It is not an effective argument.”

I think they don’t get why so many of us are so ready to defect. They think we are just being pissy about not getting Hillary.
So here is my response to that SD:

    Dear XXXX,

Thank you for your response. I certainly did not expect to receive one and am quite pleased to discover that some of our party elders actually read our emails.

Let me be clear on one thing XXXX, I too qualify as an old coot by today’s standards. I am not sure when it happened…I distinctly remember being much younger not too long ago. Your framing my protest as threat and one that “reveals to your mind an unbelievable amount of sheer stupidity” is incorrect.

I have studied all the candidates and their positions.

Between you and I, while we both understand that party lines dictate casting the “other” party as the great demons who would unravel our great union and take it down a path of destruction and depravity on the left or destruction and the loss of liberty for all on the right, we both that when you remove the fringe elements in both parties the ground on which we stand is common. The land in which we live is what we all value and cherish and choose to protect.

President John McCain would not destroy the union. He has a record that we both know, all political punditry and party postulating aside.

    Senator Clinton as well.

I as an American will have the right to exercise my vote in one of three ways this coming November.

Allow me to frame them for you briefly assuming the DNC proceeds to coronate Obama:

    1. I can go against all I know about Obama and tow the party line, but to do so I must:

    a. Ignore his ties to the kitchen cabinets and Rezko which will only gain more coverage once the verdict drops and the next trial begins.

    b. Ignore a history of poor judgment (Kitchen Cabinet stacking & Campaign kickbacks, Questionable Property deals, Total lack of a paper trail on what he did and who he met with prior to entering the US senate, Wright, Ayers, Auchi, Farakhan, Advisors meeting with Hammas, Advisors telling the Canadians to ignore his rhetoric, mysogonistic statements on the campaign trail) from a presidential candidate, the man who we as Americans will expect to be the foremost presence in protecting and honoring our great commonwealth (I have sought out news beyond MSN and Fox on all of these issues).

    c. Ignore the fact that his entire state senatorial career was established in his final year when he adopted legislation built by other members of that body and rode the wave of rubber stamp approval from a fully controlled Dem body.

    d. Ignore the fact that the Main Stream Media has consistently spooned the pro-Obama coverage and has not bothered to investigate any of the potentially explosive issues fully yet, that while a great speaker, there is nothing behind the rhetoric once you lift the curtain.

    e. The list goes on but I committed to being brief.

    2. I can abstain from voting as instructed by Donna Brazile because my party no longer needs me as she stated in emails after the Indiana/No. Carolina election night commentary on MSNBC.

    3. I can Vote against the Corruption of Obama’s Chicago ties, the hijacking of the Democratic party, the race-baiting that has been promoted by some Democrats first and foremost to denigrate President Clinton and Hillary, as well as the insulting and foolish dismissal by some within our own party of the entire constituency of voters who support Hillary as poor white trash, racists, hicks, bitter gun-clinging bible-thumping, Geritol generation bigots.

By opting to cast a vote for John McCain, a man who is a true American hero, has worked across party lines historically and is one of the most if not the most liberal republicans out there, and knowing that the Democrats will control both houses if McCain is elected, I have no fear that Row V Wade will be overturned as the pro-Obama fear-mongers are now claiming to get Hillary’s female support to get back in line. Nor do I fear that McCain will display sudden abnormal behavior and turn into a maniacal despot shooting nukes at everything that moves. We both know that just won’t happen.

Would I prefer not to have to vote for McCain? Absolutely

Would I prefer to vote for a Democrat who is tested, has a proven track record, has earned the right to represent our country in the highest office and will lead us with courage, commitment and careful measured steps through each day into the unknown of the day to come? My heart dreams of it.

But Sir, let me assure you this is not a vote for McCain because my candidate is not going to get the nomination. This is a Vote Against Barrack Obama. After doing extensive research into the candidates over the past primary season, I do not for one minute believe in my heart that he is suited to be president of the USA. And that is what my vote will be based on.

Do I want the democrats to win? Of course.

Am I willing to be complicit in helping to elect a deeply flawed candidate with little experience and a deeply troubling past? One who has a litany of disturbing personal associations that frankly do not seem to have the respect for our country that they should after having reaped so many of its benefits? Absolutely not.

I ask you to consider Sir, that many of those like myself who may choose to abandon the DNC and vote across party lines in November will not be doing it out of anger that our candidate did not get the nom, but out of love for our country and what she has stood for and continues to stand for regardless of whether the president is a republican or a democrat.

As I said before sir, I am a democrat but above that I am an American and I will vote for what my heart tells me is best for my country. That Sir is not, nor will ever be the result of sheer stupidity.

I do not envy your position.

  • CHRIS

That is a great number and we need to continue this trend and show them that our support is still strong for Senator Clinton. The fuckers in DC watch fund raising numbers like hawks.

Unfortunately, my wife and i have maxed out this month. So we can’t donate anymore for the primary, only for the general and i hope we will have the opportunity to donate to her campaign. Otherwise, Bambi will not see a damn red cent from me.

  • CHRIS

Can you please add the names? I would like to send them a personalized email to each one them that includes their first and last name because i just hate mass emails.

  • so saddened

he demands? oh how cute of him.

is that like him deciding what’s unacceptable?

and is it like him telling us what to drive and how much to eat?

and is it like his bad attitude wife telling us he will heal our souls and we will not be allowed to stay in our comfort zones any more? (forgot her exact words, but remember that was the gist).

funny how the pretend democrat has proclaimed himself king of the party, the country, our private behavior, our souls, and everything else.

one thing he’s right about – turning off the tv. if i see his face or hear his voice, i immediately turn it off. and i refuse to tune to msnbc or nbc or cnn at all, since the risk is too great that i’ll either see/hear him or see/hear one of his obnoxious supporters pretending to be a journalist. and that’s permanent change i believe in.

mr hopey changey and his mean spirited wife can f off, along with all their rude, not as smart as they think, loser supporters.

  • so saddened

    two terrific letters.

i think the sd’s choice of issues to respond to reveals it all – he didn’t bother to argue with you about the issues. his only concern was that you would vote for mccain. then he called you stupid for it. i would say that his argument is “not effective.”

like all of them, they are plainly and clearly telling us that they do not care what we think and why. they do not care who would be a better president. they do not care who is the people’s choice. they do not care who has the best chance to win in november.

all they care about is getting us to vote for their chosen candidate. if we do that, they’ll go back to not caring about us at all.

as your letters clearly show, we have valid reasons for voting against their chosen candidate. and nothing they can say would change the reality of what obama is. nevertheless, you’d think they’d try a little harder than just saying how stupid we are. after all, these are allegedly the party “leaders.”

the “leadership” of the party “leaders” is another reason that voting for their chosen candidate just because he has a “d” instead of an “r” next to his name makes no sense.

many kudos for keeping your cool in the second letter. i expect i’d have gone off on him.

hillary or mccain. no other option.
