Why Michelle Obama is Like the Iraq War

I must be doing something right because I seem to be pissing off the extremes of the right and left. I am fascinated by the negative reaction on the left–the so-called “progressive” blogosphere–to my report that the GOP has a tape of Michelle Obama having a Stokely Carmichael moment at Jeremiah Wright’s church. When I was speaking out about Valerie Plame–again without sources and relying only on what I knew first hand–these “progressives” loved me. As I wrote about what was really going on in Iraq and attacked the Bush Administration lies, I got lots of love from the left.

And the rightwing? They branded me a communist traitor. I was not to be trusted. Hell, the Wall Street Journal editorial page attacked me by name at least three times and an ultra conservative writer, Ken Timmerman, blames me, along with a few others, as being part of a cabal of CIA officers bent on sabotaging the Bush Administration. So it goes.

With my report on Michelle Obama, it has become ridiculous.

A couple of bloggers at the Orange place (The Daily Something or Other) are spreading the lie that I was the one who started the Barack is a Muslim rumor. While I am flattered that they think I am so powerful, I had nothing to do with that. In fact, I could care less if he is a muslim. Being muslim does not make you a terrorist. If he was a salafist, then that would be a different matter.

I am not sorry that folks are disquieted by my report that Republicans have a videotape of Michelle doing a rant on white people. This is not a work of creative fiction on my part. I have it solid from four separate sources–one of whom is a prominent person who also happens to be an Obama supporter. Two of the people I have spoken with–one a Republican and one a Democrate–have spoken directly to people who have seen the tape.

Some on the right think I am out to “demonize” Karl Rove. Jesus Christ? That’s like accusing me of trying to turn an Eskimo into an Eskimo. Rove is a political junk yard dog. He told Chis “Tingle Thigh” Matthews that Valerie Plame was fair game. I am thoroughly amused that some folks on the left doubt that Michelle Obama would be fair game. Fair or not, she’ll be in play come the fall because she has put herself in the game by her own intemperate words.

The only issue now is whether or not the right wing Republicans who hate John McCain will succeed in getting their hands on the tape before the Democratic Convention. Why? They want to stop Barack because they are certain McCain will trounce Mr. Obama in the fall. They would rather take their chances with Hillary. Sounds convoluted but I have impeccable sources that the Republican billionaire has put out a bounty to get the tape.

From my perspective, I am passing on information that eventually will find its way into the public arena. I am not passing on rumor or supposition. I deal in facts. I am certain that one faction of Republicans who favor John McCain have a tape and plan to use it in the fall to hurt Obama.

Oh, and guess what. There are recordings of Barack Obama when he was overseas. These recordings–I don’t know if they are video or audio–also will create problems for Barack. I anticipate having more information on this next week. If Obamabots want to indulge the fantasy that once that nasty lady, Hillary, goes away then the Illinois Messiah will be able to walk on water and feed the masses without a worry, they are seriously deluded.

I will continue warning. I will continue to speak truth to power. I don’t give a shit if it favors a Republican or a Democrat. My only concern is whether or not something is good for the people of America. If I see a danger I will speak out. And I am not sorry if it makes you uncomfortable. Get used to it.

      Actually, if BO supporters were smart, they would FIGURE OUT A SOLUTION. Find the facts. Deal with the facts. And try and change the future, if possible.

      Jeremiah Wright. Seating Florida and Michigan (See Talk Left on that one today). Learning how to “relate” to working class voters. All of these things could have been “dealt with” in some manner/better manner.

        I agree completely with your post, but need to point out that in your last line, quoted above, you describe most smokers.           How ironic… Barack is a nicotine addict and lies about that too. ABC’s Jake Tapper busted him reeking of smoke about a month ago, and he ran from him, slammed a door in his face. When Jake asked BO’s campaign about him still smoking, he was told flatly, “he stopped smoking a year ago…” After Tapper reported this incident and was indignant that he was deliberately lied to, he said that he felt that this all played into BO’s character. Well, he got jumped on by the Obamabots for saying that. However, a few days later Tweety asked BO on his Campus tour in PA about his smoking, and he finally copped to it.

          I just find it all ironic that the addict himself is in denial, and he lies to cover up his addiction, He is as sick as his secrets.. He also breeds other addicts that are in denial. The entire family unit along with his campaign, surrogates and ENABLERS; i.e., the MSM, are all part of this Dysfunctional system. I can’t help but see the classic Dysfunctional paradigm here. And, as part of the Dysfunctional paradigm — Hillary and her supporters — the Truth-bearers get Scapegoated for being the beacons of truth — who call attention to this diseased Dysfunctional dynamic.

          We have suffered too long in this country, because of W’s unrecognized, dry-alcholic, in denial behavior. We do NOT need another sicko in the WH to take W’s place. Our country deserves better. We deserve someone who is WHOLE AND HEALTHY who can assist us to restore our country back to health.

When Hillary appeared before his newspaper board which ended up endorsing her to win Pa. Scaife said he was so impressed with her and that ended up liking her.     Clinton Shows She Can Still Win and Obama Shows He Can Still Lose

    Hillary Clinton continued to show she can still win big even though the media continues to tell everyone she lost the nomination weeks ago. A 35 point loss once again shows that Obama has a serious problem with the base of the Democratic Party. Any superdelegate that doesn’t understand by now that he will likely lose in November should be stripped of their vote, they simply are ignoring reality. The superdelegates have an obligation to pick the most likely winner. If they do anything other than that they are violating their duty to put the Democratic Party first. It’s the superdelegates that are suppose to rise above the emotions in this situation and put the winner at the top of the ticket

    Obama Owes His Rise to Lobbyists

    We get by with a little help from our friends. On the right is Antoin Rezko, indicted in Chicago for public corruption.

    Obama has not dismissed people who are lobbyists and has no rules vetting lobbyists who are in his camp. Though Obama owes his rise in Illinois politics to financial and other support from lobbyists and PACs, Obama continues to assert his “new” approach to the influence in Washington of special interests.

    Wal-mart, British Petroleum, and Lockheed Martin lobbyists provided payments to the Obama political campaigns in the past, according to public documents.

    According to Jen Psaki, Obama campaign spokeswoman, Obama decided to announce a change to a “new” approach in the presidential campaign. As things stand, Obama has not yet rooted out lobbyists in his campaign nor made rules which preclude their participation as John McCain has done.

    The Boston Globe reports the following:

    Obama’s campaign finance records shows that he collected hundreds of thousands of dollars from lobbyists and PACs as a state legislator in Illinois, a US senator, and a presidential aspirant.
    In Obama’s eight years in the Illinois Senate, from 1996 to 2004, almost two-thirds of the money he raised for his campaigns — $296,000 of $461,000 — came from PACs, corporate contributions, or unions, according to Illinois Board of Elections records. He tapped financial services firms, real estate developers, healthcare providers, oil companies, and many other corporate interests, the records show.

    Obama’s US Senate campaign committee, starting with his successful run in 2004, has collected $128,000 from lobbyists and $1.3 million from PACs, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonprofit organization that tracks money in politics. His $1.3 million from PACs represents 8 percent of what he has raised overall.

    Consultant On CNN: Sometimes It’s “Accurate” To Call A Woman A “*itch”

    On CNN a few moments ago, analyst Jeffery Toobin argued that Hillary was right when she said in an interview that coverage of the race has been “sexist,” buttressing his case by pointing to a recent newspaper column suggesting that Hillary is a “white *itch.” Toobin, unsurprisingly, took issue with this, saying that it was “appalling” that this was considered acceptable.

    “Some women, by the way, are named that, and it’s accurate,” Castellanos said. He went on to buttress his case by pointing out that Hillary is “abrasive, aggressive, irritating.”

    What’s amusing about this is that Castellanos actually argued that it’s sometimes accurate to call a woman a “*itch” as a way of making the claim that Hillary was wrong to argue that there’s sexism in our political coverage. Pretty twisted stuff.

    BTW not ONE person even Obama loving woman pointed out how disgusting that was and unacceptable. It is find to degrade females!

It never occurs to these men, that they are having a visceral reaction founded in their sense of masculine entitlement and superiority. Any woman who merely opens her mouth in a confident, self-assured and knowledgeable way would be a bitch to them. And that’s patently ridiculous. Just like when Tweety Tingle Leg asked John Edwards whether Elizabeth was a ball buster. How insulting is that? These guys live in a world where women are not entitled to have an opinion.       If you are referring to Obama’s 1981 trip, he went to Karachi and Jacobabad, Pakistan and Hyderabad, India. He has never spoken publically about the 3- day “hunting expedition” to Jacobabad, where he stayed at the home of the Soomros (international banking family).

Obama received 210K votes in Kentucky, and 326K in Oregon, gaining 14 delegates in KY and 28 in OR. Totaled out, this means that 693K people voted for Clinton yesterday, while 536K voted for Obama. Clinton won 53 delegates, and Obama took 42.

    Before we begin to discuss yesterday’s results in Oregon and Kentucky, let’s start with a bit of recent information that every voter should know: Obama DID NOT attract 75,000 “fans” to a rally in Portland, Oregon, by the supposed “power of his charisma”. Interestingly enough, his speech was preceded (and followed) by a free concert, given by the band The Decemberists, local legends in their own right. Curiously, the Media failed to mention this important detail when reporting about the event, thus giving the impression that Obama had somehow drawn hundreds of bearded ‘latte drinkers’ on his own, without any other motivation apart from his “impressive popularity”. This may seem to some as inconsequential, but the mere fact that the Press was so willing to give credit where credit WAS NOT due, betrays their rapacious tendency to favor Barack Hussein Obama every time they spin their daily political news.

      Regarding Penn, he’s an ass and I regret the fact I used to admire him and even had a date with him. Ugh.     I am not sorry that folks are disquieted by my report that Republicans have a videotape of Michelle doing a rant on white people. This is not a work of creative fiction on my part. I have it solid from four separate sources–one of whom is a prominent person who also happens to be an Obama supporter. Two of the people I have spoken with–one a Republican and one a Democrate–have spoken directly to people who have seen the tape.

    I desperately want to believe this. I even ran your initial report word for word past my Dem party contacts who tell me yes, they first heard about the video from Sean Hannity and no, they couldn’t confirm this video’s existence.

    The reason I didn’t totally dismiss it as an unfounded rumor is the unnamed ultraconservative Republican billionaire. That could only be Sheldon Adelson; no one else fits that description and he once tried to buy an anti-Arab propaganda movie and have it distributed. The story appeared on Laura Rozen’s War and Piece as part of a larger story on Adelson.

    Larry, you say your story is confirmed by four separate sources none of whom has actually seen this video. And you say that only two spoke directly to people who have seen the tape.

    So basically, your story is based on third-hand, perhaps even fourth-hand, information. If you were still with the CIA would this level of corroboration be considered acceptable?

    I don’t care how much you trust and believe your sources; as the adage goes, “if your mother says she loves you check it out.” I’m going to withhold further judgment until I see something more solid than someone who talked to someone who talked to someone who saw the tape.

      While Larry’s proof is hearsay at this moment, I think you are being overly dismissive. That fact is that Larry has received the same information from four different and independent sources. At least one of those sources is a democrat. So we must either assume that there is this great plot afoot to spread lies about Obama, and these sources are either in on it or being used as part of it. Or we assume that there is in fact a tape starring Michelle Obama. The latter seems to be a simpler answer to me.

    When I was speaking out about Valerie Plame–again without sources and relying only on what I knew first hand–these “progressives” loved me. As I wrote about what was really going on in Iraq and attacked the Bush Administration lies, I got lots of love from the left.

They also bring up Whitewater, and Vince Foster when they talk about Hillary.

    Then when I wrote a post on my blog and linked to a post that former Ambassador Joe Wilson wrote in support of Hillary and hitting Obama on his dangerous foreign policy responses at a debate, those bloggers who did nothing but heap adoration and love on Joe Wilson in the past, suddenly all hated him and then used the GOP talking points against Joe. One of those bloggers even said that Valerie wasn’t really working for the CIA, she was nothing but a secretary. This is coming from people who call themselves Democratic Progressives!

    I hope that this info gets out fast, at the very least, the SD’s need to see that there is proof positive that this is what they will be up against if Obama is the nominee. If they think Independents or Republicans who don’t like McCain will vote for a guy who is anti-American, they’re nuts. The loss of Hillary supporters (even if it is as low as 5% who won’t vote Obama) and the Independents….we will be saying “President McCain” before you know it.

    “Lay off my wife” – Obama’s Inadequacy on Display

    Obama’s ill-advised and empty threat actually displays several of his numerous inadequacies.

    SEXISM. The first and most obvious. From ‘Annie Oakley’ to ‘the claws come out’ to ‘sweetie’, Obama has demonstrated he not only has sexist attitudes, but mouths them with no hesitation or understanding of the implication of his words. The demand that others “lay off my wife” has overtones of ownership as well as implying his very public and outspoken wife is incapable of handling criticism or defending herself. Can you imagine the howls if Hillary Clinton, in response to criticism of Bill Clinton, had demanded “lay off my husband.”?

    HYPOCRISY. Obama demands his wife be left alone while personally criticizing Bill Clinton. “He continues to make statements that are not supported by the facts — whether it’s about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas.

    “This has become a habit, and one of the things that we’re going to have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he’s making statements that are not factually accurate,”

    In Obama’s world, calling a rival candidate’s spouse a habitual liar is acceptable, but criticism of his spouse for troubling remarks is out of bounds.

    ELITISM. How is it that Michelle Obama became above criticism? What right does she have to be outspoken and public and expect no backlash for what she says, regardless of how inane it may be?

    NAIVETY. Did Obama actually believe he could seek the presidency with his wife making open gaffes, and hear no criticism? This shows a breathtaking lack of realism.

    INEXPERIENCE. Obama has just over three years on the national stage as a US senator, and much of those have been spent running for president. A more seasoned individual would certainly understand this aspect of public life.

    THIN SKINNED. Obama has a tendency to overreact to criticism, and this is no exception. Should he wrap up the nomination as expected, there is a lot of tough rhetoric and campaigning ahead. He would do well to adjust to it.

    All of the above indicates how Obama’s shortcomings are easily exposed. He needs to do some maturing as a candidate and a person if he expects to successfully carry the Democratic banner this fall.

    Frank Marshall Davis, who Obama mentions only as “Frank” in his book, was a friend of his grandfathers when the lived in Hawaii. There are several good bios on line if you do a search that outlines not only his poltical stances and his activtism but his role as editor of the Associated Negro Press. He was a columinist as well as a acknowledged poet. He was origninally from Chicago and even tho a mentor during Obama’s childhood must have played some role, consciously or subconsciously, in Obama’s decision to head to Chicago and join up with the more radical elements found there.

      Really? I could recommend for you any story by the Brothers Grimm. They made up stories too. Instead of this “analyst” though, they bound their stories up and sold them as fairy tales. There is no tape. No-one (others than those who really WANT to believe) takes this convoluted and tortured explanation as to why the tape isn’t being immediately released seriously. We live in a world of a fast buck and instantaneous gratification: there’s no reason this tape, if it existed, would not have been released around the time of the second Rev Wright episode. Aren’t you aware that Larry is simply doing some research into how easy it is to hook people with BS?

        Even if the tape never hits the light of day, I would believe that she has said this type of stuff. Since most of the people in her life, as well as herself, have said such things.

        There are several reasons to hold this tape for later. If you can’t understand the strategic value of an October Surprise, then you don’t know your history.

        I find your last statement the most interesting, since I’ve seen it here in several forms. That somehow a stranger knows that it is Larry’s assignment to try and sway voters. How ridiculous!         Anyway, like most here, I came to my own conclusions about Obama long before I found this website. However, I will let you in on a well known secret. I know for a fact several high profile court cases had paid people on the websites gathering information from posters because it was a free think tank.

        The amateur sleuth posters helped to debate arguments and evidence long before the cases hit the courtrooms among other contributions. We were proud of the effort we helped to provide prosecutors. So, I bet that even if Larry was compiling information, as you assume, most here would be just as proud to help him.

        None of us want Obama as President…so the results would still be the same. Psy-op or not.

        Try another scare tactic…that one and all the other versions of it….have no teeth here.

Numerous polls show that she galvanises the GOP like no other human who has ever walked this earth. I know not a single republican who has a nice thing to say about her and they whet their collective lips at the thought of running against her. Whatever *you* may think about Obama, he has assembled a formidable coalition and his volunteer and voter registration programmes are HUGELY oversubscribed. Obama will be responsible for adding millions of voters to the electoral roll come november and GOP the horse they’ve picked, a forgetful old man who can’t appeal to the young, hasn’t a hope. In the face of this, any sensible GOP would want to run against Clinton. Young people can’t stomach her and it’ll just be old and uneducated who vote for her. This really makes no sense. So I conclude that this tape is just make-belief.

            And I bet all those new voters will go back to being non-voters the minute Obama loses. They don’t even have the intestinal fortitude to watch a tame race with Hillary and Obama. Bring in the McCain and the 527s and those new voters will be gone in two years. Not understanding that they have to stay in the process, and vote during boring regular elections too.

            So, I’ve seen new voters register and placed no hopes on them staying. As a result, I have never been disappointed when they failed to show up at the polls, time and again.

            However, when polls show that large percentages of Hillary supporters won’t support Obama. It makes his campaign strategy of insulting all things Clinton, while giving props to Reagan and GHWB in his stump speeches, rather stupid. Second only to comparing McCain and Clinton as the same. He has made the case to vote against him…LOL!

            Made up or not that tape is least of Obama’s worries. Michelle has already provided enough tape to work with. ;)

Mitch Berg notes another example of Obama saying something sure to hurt him in the general election. Obama made the following statement in regard to global warming:

    “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

    “That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

    “Yes we can!” has now morphed into “that’s not going to happen.” So much for Obama’s positive message of “hope.” Apparently we can hope that Obama is merciful in dictating what we should drive, eat, and what temperature we can set our thermostats to.

    Michelle Obama wrote her Senior Thesis at Princeton, on the issue of whether black Princeton alumni changed their views on black/white relations as a result of their Ivy League education. The Politico has the full document here.

    Her views on race are frankly, offensive and racist. Her worldview on the topic is entirely “Us versus Them.” She sees two cultures, with the Whites making the Blacks (she uses caps for the races) feel like outsiders. Note that even the “tolerant” liberals on an elite college campus are racists too. Well, we know when the liberals are intolerant, imagine what it must be like to have conservatives around. All emphasis mine.

    I have found that at Princeton no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my White professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don’t belong. Regardless of the circumstances underwhich [sic] I interact with Whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be Black first and a student second.

    And because Whites are irreparably racist, she decides to forgo assimilation into White culture and chooses to focus only on Blacks.

    These experiences have made it apparent to me that the path I have chosen to follow by attending Princeton will likely lead to the further integration and/or assimilation into a White cultural and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant. This realization has presently, made my goals to actively utilize my resources to benefit the Black community more desirable.

      I know exactly how you feel, Its Not Me. The same thing has happened to me. My entire political self-concept has been turned on its head. As a freshman in high school I volunteered on JFK’s campaign. In college it was RFK. I have been a progressive in a family of many generations of progressive liberal Democrats. I have voted for every Democratic presidential nominee. But in good conscience I cannot and will not vote for someone with so little expereince and such a thin resume, especially when you add in all of his negatives. I feel adrift in a small raft in the middle of the ocean. My entire political self-concept falling around my feet in tattered shreds. It is a very disconcerting feeling.

      But like so many on this thread have already said, THANK YOU to Larry (and his entire team) for telling truth to power and for giving me a place where I can come and feel welcome and learn and grow as I try to build my new political self-concept.

The Obama camp actually called Bill Clinton a RACIST? Jesse Jackson Jr. actually insinuated that Hillary is a RACIST? I couldn’t believe they would EVER do something like that to the Clintons, of all people! That was IT for me. Then the Obamarhoids just grew more hateful, more divisive, and more RUDE as the days went by. I have never, in all my years of being involved in politics, witnessed such vile behavior by another candidate’s supporters. Then came Racist Rev. Wright and that was all she wrote! I was crushed to find out how much I was hated by black people because I don’t hate THEM. I’ve never done anything to any AA in my life that I should be ashamed of. Racism is NOT ALLOWED in our home or in our personal space. Period. I was truly disheartened to know that AAs hate me for no reason.

        I can PROUDLY say that I have never voted for a republican and I’ve been a registered Democrat since 1973, but I sure as hell am NOT voting for Obama. Not after what he and his supporters have done to the Clintons. His questionable background and his shady friends make him a non-starter for me. Not to mention his obvious inexperience. I will write in Hillary’s name…if the election isn’t close, which it won’t be because I’m in Illinois.:(

          I did not start our neutral. I supported Edwards. But Edwards dropped out just before Super Tuesday and I had to vote for someone. It did not take me 10 minutes to figure out that Hillary was the stronger candidate and the one that could beat McCain. So that is who I voted for.

          But I becasme a staunch supporter when I saw how Obama and the media were ganging up on her. I did not like that one bit. And I knew what it was – sexism.

          But like you I could not believe that Obama was calling the Clinton’s racist over nothing. Nothing I tell you. To say Hillary was racist when she said the LBJ got the Civil Rights bill passed was hogwash. I felt like I was in an alternate universe. And I never thought it would get traction or play in the media. But it did. It went down hill from there. No longer alternative universe, we were now in Rod Sterling’s Twight Zone. Crazy. My mind still sometimes cannot wrap itself around what is happeneing.

          And the MSM is so pro-Obama I can not believe it. I started sensing that after New Hampshire. And I sensed it was largely sexist and that has proved true witheachh passing day.

          I have had to give up MSNBC, KO, NBC, Air America, Bill Moyers, even Daily Show and Colbert. I watch no news except BBC. My whole life has changed because of this one divisive man who calls himself a uniter.

          It is surreal.

    A huge fraction of Americans have bought into the Obama candidacy because of his polished and effective rhetoric. But Obama does not offer the changes I have been waiting for, or the ones the public needs. A great speaker does not necessarily have the courage or intent to fight for deep political reforms.

    Our nation’s Founders did not create the United States of America just with smiles and slick rhetoric; they were bold, risk-taking revolutionaries fighting tyranny. Obama has not defined our domestic tyranny and told us how he will try to abolish it. Obama is no dissident or revolutionary. The change he mostly seeks is moving from senator to president. Not what I have been waiting for.

    There is no evidence in Obama’s brief political career that he is a champion for deep political reforms to transfer power from the plutocrats to the people. To the contrary, the more you learn about Obama’s history the more he appears as just another super-ambitious politician making friends, using people and cutting deals to get ahead.

    To begin with, I have been waiting for a potential president that speaks out against the over-powerful two-party system that sucks up money from all countless corporate and other special interests. I have never heard a word from Obama to indicate he understands the many harmful effects of the two-party plutocracy and the need to open up our political system to a much wider spectrum of beliefs and strategies. Instead, Obama cleverly talks about bipartisanship just as many other Democrats and Republicans have, because that maintains the two-party status quo.

    If Obama believed in opening up the political system he would, for example, advocate opening up televised presidential debates to third party candidates and removing the many obstacles the two parties have built to limit ballot access to third party and independent candidates. He would also openly call for replacing the Electoral College with the popular vote for president.

    If Obama truly wanted to get rid of big, corrupting money from corporate and other special interests, then he should be advocating a constitutional amendment that would remove all private money from political campaigns and change the US system to totally publicly financed campaigns. Only a constitutional amendment can accomplish this. Campaign financing reforms by Congress are a distraction and next to useless.

    There is something that has always bothered me for a while now and no one seems to be aware of it, but do any of you recall something that Bush signed a while back about how he can stop elections if this country is attacked or if we are at war (think Iran). I want to say it was a signing statement or something. Why do I have this nagging feeling that the Republicans either do not care if McCain wins or not right now, because they know that maybe either in October the surprise is “Iran attacks us and we have to respond (even if we are the ones that staged the initial attack)” so Bush and Cheney remain in power. Or, they hope Obama is elected and just like Reagan/Carter swearing in ceremony the hostages are miraculously released – maybe on Obamas swearing in in January Iran “attacks us or Isreal”. (again with BUSH/CHENEYS fingerprints on the weapons” Just a thought – but don’t say I didn’t tell you so if either scenario happens. Stranger things have happened this last year (BYRD supporting Obama for one – that still pisses me off!)

    I am a McCain supporter. Frankly, I do not buy it. I am skeptical the tape exists, and if it does, I doubt it will be all that damaging. My issues with Obama (and why I think he would lose to McCain) are elsewhere.

    As for whether or not Mrs. Obama is a legitamite policitcal target, I agree with those that say it is silly how political spouses have become a target. However, Mrs. Obama has made herself a major surrogate for her husband (in the same way Senator Clinton was a major surrogate for her husband, and how President and Chelsea Clinton have become major surroagets for Senator Clinton). So she will need to deal with it. When President Clinton says something stupid on the campaign trial, it is rightfully an issue. It is the same with Mrs. Obama.

        I am troubled not only by his loyalties, but by Kenya’s recent descent into violence. Kenya was a fairly stable country, a tourist attraction. What role, if any, did Obama’s relationship with Odinga and his particpation in that election have in causing the violence?

    All We Can Say Is, Just Wait For July

    In late July, we have a feeling, based on a very educated guess, and a good 15 years of following politics and the American news media intently, that a “major upset” in this campaign will happen. What the media giveth, it taketh away. We personally bet it’s going to be Michelle Obama in a starring role with a video hit of her own sweeping the nation — but, over the last few days, Larry Johnson over at NoQuarterUSA.net has mentioned the existence of tapes of Barack Obama “overseas”, making outrageous statements of his own. Since Obama is not a well-traveled man, we’re guessing this tape is from his relatively recent trip to Africa, where he met up with his cousin, Odinga, and other unsavory types in Kenya. We highly doubt the tapes are from his boyhood in Indonesia or his trip to Pakistan with a friend several years after that. It has to be the Kenya trip Obama took as a US Senator, in 2004. Johnson doesn’t know if it’s video or audio tape, but it will certainly be interesting. It doesn’t make any sense for the media to drop this material now, because it won’t change the result in Puerto Rico, where Hillary Clinton will win a nice victory, and it won’t change Montana or South Dakota, because they are so small to begin with, that they really don’t matter. The maximum value to the media, story-wise, would be for Clinton to contest the nomination to the Convention, with Obama pretending to have it all in the bag, until suddenly these tapes come out and sink his candiday before the Democrats head to Denver. Obama implodes, the media does a “Dewey Defeats Truman” number, and Hillary Clinton emerges as the nominee. There’s also the potential for 4th of July pitfalls for both Obamas, considering their difficulties with the national anthem, flag pins, and national pride. So, we think July could be very, very interesting. With no doubts in our mind, a Clinton nomination in Denver come August.

    To say the least, it sure cheered me up! That and Hillary’s declaration to fight for FL & MI. I saw a bumper sticker today that expresses my mood completely:

    WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!

I am a senior proud black woman who has had an uneasy feeling about “The Second Coming Obama”, I continually get berated for not supporting this person who has far too many skeletons in the closet for me. Thank you speaking the truth. I have always felt that “Miss Michelle” will ultimately be a part of his downfall. SHE TALKS TOO MUCH!!! Ug-g-g-g-g-gh

    Obama is a great orator, but beyond that no substance to back it up.

    He will not be getting my vote.

    But… they didn’t say it was a negative factor… the question wasn’t worded that way. It could also have been a positive factor, in that some people might have been *more* inclined to vote for a person of color.
    Just asking if it was a factor was such a broad question that there is really no way of knowing what people meant when they answered yes.

    Maybe the people that said race played a factor, had to do with Their concerns The Obama’s went to a church for 20 years that was anti white. It’s not necessarily that the voters are racist, but maybe they don’t think the POTUS should be a racist. I don’t.

    Sorry, it will not be that simple, if the tape is real, does surface, and is as bad as it has been made out to be it would be completely unacceptable to have a first lady of the United States that would be known throughout the world as a confirmed racist.
