Goddess I Love a Fighter

Today Hillary stated what many of us have been secretly wishing for. She said that she would be willing to take the nomination fight right to the convention should Florida and Michigan want to contest the DNC decision.

Clinton may take delegate fight to convention

Hillary Rodham Clinton says she is willing to take her fight to seat Florida and Michigan delegates to the convention if the two states want to go that far. In an interview with The Associated Press, Clinton was asked whether she would support the states if they continue the fight.

The presidential candidate said Wednesday, “Yes I will. I will, because I feel very strongly about this.”

When I read stuff like this I get all choked up. Because Hillary is willing to do what is right regardless of the odds against her. That is something I respect and admire to the core of my being.

But as usual the Obamedia has this all distorted to begin with. They always restate the source of the problem but then they do the unforgivable. They always twist it around to make it seem as if awarding Hillary for her wins would be a slight of some kind toward Obama.

Both states were stripped of their delegates because they voted early, violating national party rules. Clinton won both states; Barack Obama’s name wasn’t on the Michigan ballot.

I think it is about time that we stood up and DEMANDED that the Obamedia report the truth instead of their spin. We need to remind everyone that the reason Obama’s name wasn’t on the ballot in Michigan was because HE TOOK IT OFF THE BALLOT!

And in my book, if you remove yourself from an election you lose the right to contest the results of that election. It’s only common sense.

SWEET! I SO want it to go to the convention!! Fight on, Hillary!!

also… i have Hillary gear that I am donating proceeds to her campaign… the latest is the electoral map with how she’ll beat mccain

  • Hillraiser429

Amen. Both Edwards and Obama’s people told voters via their websites and by going door-to-door that a vote for “uncommitted” was a vote for them. THAT IS CAMPAIGNING! They broke the rules and STILL claim the moral high ground.

  • my friends

This is awesome! The Democrat Party is going down in flames this year! YOU GO HILLARY!

    More here on that:

OT but I see Jimmy Carter is now talking openly about OBAMA’S VP choice. He’s advocating Sam Nunn–from Georgia! Guess that’s what the DNC used to win Carter over. He also said he doesn’t think a Clinton/Obama ticket would be the best thing for the Democrats! These people have all lost their minds. Obama/Nunn? Who’s going to vote for that?

Not buying anymore Jimmy Carter books or tapes.

  • Joe Beese

Oh, she’s going. I think we can count on that.

But she would go even if she gets FL and MI seated as-is. [heh heh - not very likely] She would simply change her rationale – yet again – to “the delegates can switch at any time”. As indeed they can.

She still won’t get the nomination, of course. And she’ll forfeit all those millions of dollars she loaned her campaign – since federal election law says such loans can’t be paid back after the vote. That will be a nice consolation prize for having to put up with her for a few more weeks.

    See you at Obama’s inauguration.

  • Jerad

All that can be said about this situation is straight from Hillary herself:

Presidents are fighters; presidents do what is right; Hillary should be President.

  • JP

I just heard that one of Obama’s campaign guys is going to take over at the DNC. A guy named Tewes. Is there any way we can stop that?

  • troll free zone

    Darlin’ simply put,
the odds aren’t against her. only the hype.

  • It’s Not Me

I really like your HTML code t-shirt. Very clever.:)

Sam Nunn for VP??? Jimmeh has lost his freakin’ mind. He needs to go hammer some more nails and STFU.

  • http://www.cafepress.com/gigglechick/5112889 gigglechick

thanks :} you might just be the first one to “get it” — haven’t sold any of that design. the others have been doing quite well though.

  • Scarlet Oh Hairy

Not so fast Joe Beese. Obama needs our votes out here to get into that inauguration ball. Without us, he’s toast. Remember that! And we are pledged here on this site to forgo voting for Obama. We are also determined to support a schism in the Democratic Party. Then what will Democrats do without millions of voters who are fed up with having an inexperienced, naive, unelectable young man shoved down our throats?

  • ginaswo

    RIGHT ON!!!!
ALL THE WAY TO DENVER AND THE WHITE HOUSE BABY!!

    BOOYAH!!!

    HILLYEAH!!!

  • It’s Not Me

You are so delusional. BO isn’t going to be the nominee. He can’t win the GE. Have you seen the electoral maps? The DC elites may be the most ignorant people on earth, but they don’t like losing elections. Hillary WILL BE the nominee. DEAL WITH IT.

    See you at Hillary’s inauguration.

  • Ellen D.

Are you one of the Obama sweet talkers that wants my support?

  • Nathan

Blame Obama, not Clinton. It’s because of her that we have any chance to salvage it.

  • my friends

the odds aren’t against her. only the hype.

So true. She can make up that delegate deficit by turning to the people! We can shut this convention down! If Hillary can’t be nominated, then neither can Obama! Just say the word, Hillary, and we march!

  • Joe Beese

Well, I know that’s the position here. Who knows? Maybe you’re right.

But perhaps you’ve noticed the lingering resentment against Jimmy Carter – more than a quarter of a century after the fact – for what is perceived to be the damage he did to the party?

That’s putting his face on Mt. Rushmore compared to what Hillary’s legacy is going to be if we lose this election. Whether you think it fair or not, she’s going to perceived as having pointlessly kneecapped our strongest candidate in decades out of her narcissistic sense of entitlement.

  • stodghie

it will be you, michelle and him with one of those crowns made out of cardboard box.

  • calli sweeti

Hillary makes me proud to be an American woman. CNN is using a speech writer for JFK to compare Obama to JFK. CNN makes me gag with their propaganda shows. I hope Wolfie is embarrassed for himself. Obama is no JFK!

  • stodghie

tell you what come up with a contender, you know a real one. it doesn’t matter the color, but someone who will fight, fight, fight for the american people and won’t hide from bitter voters. when you do that, then we’ll talk till then shut the fu!

  • JMS825

Obama keeps using the “I was not on the ballot in MI” but correct me if I am wrong in the general election if Nadar or Bell cant get their name on a ballot in a state we dont give them trophy votes do we?

  • Diane

I just read an AP article stating:

“Obama plans to contest the final three primaries in Puerto Rico, South Dakota and Montana, but he is already moving on, well into the early stages of a general election plan that will take him to other critical swing states in the coming weeks.”

Can he “contest” the remaining primaries?

  • Tom Plumb

I don’t even read your crap anymore, that is how insignificant you are.

    Boy, that campaign is loonytoons.

  • BJinChicago

It is Obama and his followers who have split the party. It is the DNC leadership that has split the party. Trust me, people will be writing about this election for years to come. No matter how the media tries to spin it; our words, our journals, our diaries will be lurking in cyberspace to set the record straight.

  • http://www.arguewitheveryone.com ChrisXP

“For everyone here in Ohio and across America who’s ever been counted out but refused to be knocked out, and for everyone who has stumbled but stood right back up, and for everyone who works hard and never gives up, this one is for you.”—Hillary Clinton
I’ve taped those words above my desk so that every time I’m down and feel like quitting, I think of what she’s gone through in this election. Quitters never win. Just ask Eli Manning and the New York Giants.

NPR : ALL THINGS CONSIDERED…..just did a story on the groundswell of Clinton supporters…..msm is startin to pick it up…..Yeah ! All The Way To Denver !

  • PamFlorida

Did BO change his name to “Uncommited”? That would be the only basis for his claiming rights to those votes. Reminds me of a child saying “That’s not fair, I wasn’t ready.”
Most states don’t have ‘uncommited’ on the ballot. What is the purpose of voting uncommited? How has MI. assigned those votes in the past?
Is that like BO voting “present” in the Il. senate? Sort of like, “I’m here but I’m not going to tell you what I think”?
    Food for thought.

  • It’s Not Me

That’s a fact! I think the DNC and the DC elites don’t quite know how to deal with this strong, relentless, WONDERFUL woman! They must be beside themselves trying to figure out what the hell went wrong. LOL! She was suppose to be long gone by now.

  • annakarenina

Yes! I hope she goes. Bring back the days when the Convention meant choosing a nominee not just a coronation of a candidate. The pledged delegates are only bound to their candidates on the first vote. Then they are free to choose whomever they wish. I’d love to see a good ole’ fashioned floor fight again. It’s called Democracy!

  • Emily Pickett

Just about an hour ago Chris Matthews called her campaign an ‘open sore’, etc etc

  • pm317

Is it on that page? I did not see it.

  • glennmcgahhee

I do believe that they are gonna give Obama the nomination no matter what. My thinking is that we have a dem majority in Congress to check President McCain. I can live with that. Then, I plan to help every single challenger to the old guard, democrat and republican and finally get rid of these people that have gotten way too comfortable in their positions that they no longer care what the voters think. Thats been the problem for many years now. Remember when term limits were promised a few years ago?

  • Emily Pickett

What the hell does race have to do with policy?
Good question. Go ask the 93% of blacks that voted for ‘brother’ Obama!!!

I’m sure they all voted against the white guy because of ‘policy’. (*rolling eyes*)

Oh .. and if you are looking for racists, I suggest you start at the top of the Obama Party – Barack and Michelle – anti-white, anti-jew, and anti-America.

  • Diane

Oh. I thought they meant he was going to dispute or challenge the remaining primaries. I wouldn’t put it past him to try. Thanks.

Oh, do stop whining, you silly little person. Hillary Clinton is doing what she can to save what’s left of the Democratic party from power hungry, cynical $ellouts like Howard Dean, John Kerry, and–sadly–Teddy Kennedy and Jimmy Carter.

You know–the old farts who think they have to destroy the party to save it (for themselves)?

Well, it’s not working. We’re taking it back–and you lot can go back to yer video games and yer circle jerks.

  • Scarlet Oh Hairy

    Joe Beese,

If the Democrats should lose the general election in November, it could be said that their complete refusal to thoroughly vet their candidate was the number one reason for their embarrassing loss.

If damaging material emerges in the next few weeks or months with regard to Michelle Obama, or even perhaps regarding Obama himself, the general public will question the leadership of the Democratic Party.

To say that Hillary’s legacy would be gravely tarnished by Obama’s demise is ridiculous and demonstrates your dismal understanding regarding how women feel about her. Obviously you have absolutely no connection to how deeply admired Hillary Clinton is to her supporters. That is why she now has within her possession a movement of her own. She has exhibited great strength of character. If you hadn’t noticed, she is now a role model for millions of women who will now aspire to even greater heights.

When we women, once again, rewrite the HERSTORY books, Hillary Clinton will go down as one of the greatest of American women. She will share the stage with Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Sojourner Truth, Lucretia Mott and Eleanor Roosevelt.

She is a maverick! Don’t step on her because if you do, you step on all of us who love and cherish her greatness!

  • Scarlet

To the obamabots – I truly wonder about your educational status. Your statements lack understanding about the democratic process in selecting a nominee. Please read the actual rules and examine past historical conventions – look at both Republican and Democratic conventions.

Sam Nunn is a good VP candidate. But, the problem is Sam Nunn is like Zell Miller — a conservative Democrat.

It’s like asking Joe Lieberman to be his VP.

    http://www.bookrags.com/biography/sam-nunn/

His 1981 ratings from Americans for Constitutional Action (conservative) was 71, while Americans for Democratic Action (liberal) gave him a 35. These figures do not explain Nunn’s Democratic Party values nearly as much as does his membership in the D.L.C. (Democratic Leadership Council). He founded this organization in 1985 with other moderates such as Charles Robb, Joseph Biden, and Lawton Chiles to restore the South and West, as Nunn put it, to “… the mainstream of American politics”; other goals were a strong national defense, commitment to arms control within reason, and retention of civil rights gains. Among other D.L.C. members, Nunn was perhaps more conservative, as evidenced by his early support for the Strategic Defense Initiative (known popularly as “Star Wars”) and aid to anti-Communist “Contra” forces in Nicaragua.

That would cause the Neo-Libs to riot! Marky must be getting nightmares, too!!

  • http://deleted AnninCa

What does that matter? Obama trashed her character and her husband’s legacy already.

She’s got absolutely nothing to lose. That’s why he should reach a compromise quickly on this unless he’d like this to turn into a worse mess.

He has the power. He can compromise.

Well maybe the voters who now have buyers remorse should start speaking out and letting their pledged and super delegates know how they feel. The bottom line is that the early voters were treated unfairly because the media has knowingly withheld important information about Obama (except Fox News and few others). Obama’s relationship with Rev Wright, his membership in a Black Liberation Theology church which preaches that the White God should be killed (whatever…) and that their God is Black (whatever…), his relationship with Rezko (including house buying deal), his relationship with Ayers (including working for and with him, starting his political career at Ayer’s house) and not knowing Auchi even though he toasted him, ETC. was all over the internet and should have been brought up by the TV news and during the debates. It would have been brought up for most other candidates and is fair game. If many voters knew more about Obama’s background, associates, rise to power, lack of true experience, ETC. they would never have voted for him. They have been cheated too.

  • PamFlorida

Haven’t watched CNN, MSNBC, or HLN for a month. Ya’ll should tune them out as well. If their ratings tank, maybe their advertisers will start to notice. I’ve watched FOX News sometimes to get better info. Never thought Fox would be the least biased!
Saw Sen. Clinton & Chelsea in Boca Raton, Fl. today. She is on a “Count the Votes” mission. Great speech-see video on TalkLeft. When greeting the crowd, she makes eye contact and is so warm and personable. Looks great-rested, calm, self-assured. Don’t know how she does it every day.

  • SandyS

When this primary season started, I was torn between almost all of the candidates. John Edwards seemed just too angry to me. As a devoted Democrat, I wanted someone who could win, and it just didn’t appear to me that Edwards could do it. Obama gave great speeches, but he fumbled in the debates and I was truly frustrated with trying to find out any policy positions from his campaign. I respected Joe Biden, but felt he truly needs to stand in the Senate as a strong voice for the Democrats. I was luke warm to Hillary Clinton. There was that Iraq vote. But she kept voting to fund the war, too. So did Obama. Chris Dodd stood up for the FISA act. Richardson threw gays and lesbians under the bus on his interview with HRC. Then Obama threw gays and lesbians under the bus with Donny McGurkin. Chris Dodd dropped out. John Edwards dropped out. As each debate went on, I realized that Hillary Clinton knew her positions, her positions were populist ones, and her ideas were quite worthy of investigation. Obama said nothing, or copied Hillary. Then the misogyny began in earnest, from the media, from Obama supporters, and from Obama himself. With each stupid comment, Hillary grew stronger. With each call for her to drop out, she fought harder. At some point, I began to realize, this is who we need as the Democratic nominee – hands down. Obama could never win in a general election, and besides I began to actually dislike him more and more each day. His arrogance, his misogyny, his disdain for hardworking Americans, gays and lesbians, women, etc. Clinton fought like I have never seen anyone fight before. I knew in my heart, she was fighting for us. But each night, the pundits, Obama supporters, etc. would say that she was just determined to win for her own sake. Today’s speech proves to me, what I have known in my heart all along. This woman is the best presidential candidate that I have seen in my lifetime and my first vote was for Carter. She will fight for what is right, she will fight Obama, she will fight the media, and she will fight John McCain. She will be our next president, and she truly deserves the honor! And we as a nation truly need her.

  • JP

I hope these misogynists are all but finished forever after Hillary gets the nomination. Lets do ourselves a favor and march straight to Denver. We can organize a million woman march. Lets take back our country from these stupid ego-centric men who have taken over our DNC and the congress and senate (including Brazile, Pelosi et al). Money does not buy everything. Loyalty is not for sale. Our country is not for sale. We should be telling the superdelegates this and more. Obama and his ilk will not run this country. Lets do ourselves another favor, lets get rid of these punks on the news, get them fired, they are no friends of women.

  • Scarlet Oh Hairy

    GREAT IDEA Chris!

Michigandler – There’s a lot of financial pressure on some of these people. I’m letting the Hillary pols know how much I support them and their carreers. I never thought I’d see such bare knuckled thuggery. Hillary is a power of example to these folks in a different way than she is to us.

    Fret not. Hillary will prevail.

Regardless of the psyops tactics and other thought manipulation that is currently passing for media coverage of this primary season, Hillary has precedent and history on HER side. I place this whole FL & MI debacle squarely on the shoulders of Dean and Brazile who chose to punish only 2 of the four states that broke the party rules by scheduling early primaries. I admire Clinton’s integrity and commitment to a process that is bigger than the mere privilege of having the key to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. And, the longer this process drags out the more people that are going to see through Barack Obama and find that there is nothing there but ego and narcissism.

This is the call being circulated to make history in August in Denver. Please send it around.

    __________

The Democrats return to Denver. What a difference 100 years makes.

We are at a significant and historically compelling moment.

The Democratic Convention will be occurring in Denver on Women’s Equality Day, August 26, 2008.

We look forward to celebrating the achievements of women by seeing the most successful female Presidential candidate in American history – Hillary Clinton – arrive in Denver as a leading contender for the Democratic nomination on Women’s Equality Day in 2008. That will be a historic day.

August 26 is Women’s Equality Day in the U.S. – established by Congress in 1971, commemorating the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920, when women achieved the right to vote. The last time Democrats held their convention in Denver – 100 years ago, in 1908 – only men were legally allowed to vote. Today, women now vote in record numbers – and – run for office at the highest levels of government.

Americans have fought for gender equality and will see it continue at the Democratic Convention in Denver, where the nation will watch the most successful female Presidential candidate in American history – Hillary Clinton – compete for the nomination of her party.

Times have changed. They are still changing.

A silent protest of one million protest signs. Of women in work uniforms (to symbolize how far they have come in 30+ years). Be it that million dollar trader, to that lady who lost not only her home, her respect — for only getting 60 cents for the dollar her male companion makes even today.

Even if Hillary is the nominee, just like BO she will alienate a significant portion of the electorate making a ge victory problmatic at best. She will lose the AA vote as well as the under 30 vote even though the MSM doesn’t give them the same air time they do the white vote. Moreover, not only will she lose the under 30 vote many younger voters are unwilling to accept another Bush or Clinton even if it means riots or worse. I think what you meant to say was see you at McCain’s inauguration.

  • cows4us

SandyS – right on! Bravo! That’s exactly how I felt! I was brainwashed by the media into disliking Hillary as so many women are – without knowing why or based on lies. We are conditioned to denigrate our own kind (just look at the Rachel Maddows, Donna Braziles, and Randi Rhoades out there). As many have noted, women are the last n—–s of the world. Men own the media, control the narrative and they fear women, grossly. Why else keep women down so much? Women have had to fight for everything they’ve ever gotten – in all areas. Hillary knows this and is proof of it.
I finally got sick of the non-policy talks of Obama’s and the other no-chance-in-hell candidates and actually started listening and reading Hillary’s policies – I’ve never seen anything more thorough, intelligently planned, and so well laid out and accounted for in my life. This woman is a true genius and it shows when every person of any credibility has endorsed her plans. Not to mention her incredible warmth, humor, and tenacity. She is truly amazing – a once in a generation type of person. We are truly lucky as Americans to have her willing to fight for us b/c we know she will never back down.

The AA vote is primarily in red southern states. Those states were never in play anyway. Then if Obama isn’t on the ticket its a good chance that Hillary would receive 90% of their vote just like all democrats before her.

There are many more shoes to drop on Obama and when most of the truth is out, Obama’s stock will drop accordingly. His political career will go in flames just like the Hindenburg.

  • Deep Truths

Well neither is Guam, but Obama and his people were all over that. Including soiled ballots. They were loving all 4 delegates, now that spit at 63 – perhaps another tsunami is headed his way.

  • Hope

She does not have those voters now and is winning the electoral college against McCain, gaining any % at from the fringe of the party will only boost her numbers.

  • Hope

That is Obama’s strong suit, any hint of trouble..run the other way and create a distraction.
I wasn’t in church that day
    I wasn’t on the ballot
I didn’t have time to visit Kentucky
    But look over here:
    John Edwards likes me
75,000 people came to see me..NOT
I crown myself the winner in Iowa
    what a joke!

  • Hope

Wow that’s what Obama called Israel.

“JG: Do you think that Israel is a drag on America’s reputation overseas?

BO: No, no, no. But what I think is that this constant wound, that this constant sore, does infect all of our foreign policy. ….”

It’s a powerful argument to make: that Dean and Obama excluded Fl and MI from the start because they knew he would loose them. It’s too much like what the repugs did in 2000 for people not to notice.
To date, the Obama campaign has brought every republican tactic into the democratic party: from name calling, to race baiting, to false accusations and character assasignation, to sleazy electoral strategies, to the outright stealing of an entire State. They’re actually worse because they also do age and gender baiting and are stealing MI. It’s a nightmare.

He sure did! I live in Jacksonville and he had ads running on the cable channels for a week before the vote.

Diane, I like your attitude. My best thoughts are with you for victory in all your battles, and deep love and respect in all your personal relationships.

Came from Hillary Clinton rally in Coral Cables, FL. You could see how excited the people were about Sen Clinton’s visit. Everyone was shouting “My FL votes must count”.

One very appropriate sign that goes to the core of what the Democratic party stands for says:

“NOT COUNTING VOTES IS A REPUBLICAN THING”

Please don’t watch CNN and MSNBC!!

If you are on a channel for 6 minutes, they get the rating. You could do a drive by–just don’t stay longer that 5 min.

    Check tvnewser.com

I don’t know if it is an official Obama website but this guy is telling people to vote uncommitted
in Michigan and not write in Obama and Obama will get the vote….and didn’t Obama run ads in Fla. and that be cinsidered campaigning???

  • Gary McGowan

I stopped watching CNN more than 20 years ago. Well, on 9/11, I watched maybe 3 minutes.

But CNN is hardly irelevant. That place damages A LOT of minds.

  • Percy11

I once heard that Obama sent out mailers in MI stating to vote “uncommitted” …. can any one verify? I heard about this at the time of the MI vote…

  • hwddawg

Thanks for the info on CSCT

  • Darla

This was suggested by David Gergen…Not the T shirt, but the idea that Hillary should reject the votes of racists…

  • mary C.

    Seriously boycott CNN and MSNBC.

If enough people did it–that would get their attention.

  • Gary McGowan

Right. FDR understood who the enemy was and still is (at the root). Read his Inaugural Address to the people of the United States. What we are fighting is the scum who are afraid the Clintons in the white house will be uncontrollable by them, the anti-FDR, anti-American System, financier slime mold elite.God, I wish we taught history in our schools.

  • Puzzled

Will: Powerful argument that Dean and Obama colluded? Where did you get such nonsense.

Terry McAuliffe, Clinton’s campaign manager, when he served as the DNC Chairman, he declared that any state that moves up the primary will lose 50% of the delegates.

Hillary Clinton herself said that we know that Michigan and Florida won’t count, but that was when she thought she will get the nomination by Super Tuesday.

Now that she is desperate she wants to count every vote, including Michigan where nobody else was on the ballot. Who is stealing Michigan, Will?

Rallies can lose focus pretty quick if the message isn’t disciplined, as 1001 special interests have their own agendas. So the issues that has us on fire, need to be tight — sexism; media promotion of it; Hillary’s treatment and it’s affect on her campaign. Remember a group I used to be involved in that we hosted for it’s state convention, and despite help from Atlanta and some national help, the hosting was anything but peachy — break down in communication can happen quick, and that was for about 500 people.

    Ah, 1,000,000?

Yeah, a national organization is what’s needed for logistical help!

  • stodghie

in fact obama has the illusion of power and what little influence he has is short lived. obama is on the end of order giving by the power brokers.

  • SueB.

Have you read the DNC Delegate Selection Rules? I have. 12.A.
“All candidates for delegate and alternate in caususes, committees, conventions, and on primary ballots shall be identified as to presidential preference or uncommitted status at all levels of a process that determines presidential process.”
Heck, I thought about running as an uncommitted delegate once.

Before you go spouting off it might do you some good to actually research what the hell you’re talking about. Ya think?

  • SueB.

    That was Harry Caray Jr.

Diane, check out the organization from long island NY called 1 in 9. They have a picture of their senator (our girl) fighting as always for breast cancer awareness.

    http://www.1in9.org/

In 2005 at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Hillary has always been there for us, that is why we are here today fighting for her.

This is just one issue, but in every issue she has had the backs of her constituents and worked her tail off to get us help and promote positive changes in government and private sector organizations.

Take that NARAL and stuff it.

  • Truth

Seriously – a lot of people are smoking something on this site. Senator Clinton turns her back on a signed pledge she made, and you guys applaud her on that? She compares FL and MI to getting blacks and women the right to vote, and you don’t realize she is a delusional egomaniac? She compares it to the situation in Zimbabwe, and you robotically nod your heads in agreement? This isn’t her being tough or tenacious – what we are seeing is truly someone who is having trouble grasping the reality of the fact she lost. And its not sexism or the media’s fault – it’s her own. I used to think highly of Senator Clinton, but she is very much diminished in my eyes. (And for the record, Obama ran ads in neighboring states for their primaries, some of which, given the way broadcasting works, were seen in parts of Florida. Compare this to Senator Clinton who had six “fund raising” trips to Florida during the lead up to the vote there.)

  • Ulahane

Spoken by a supporter of a man who says Iran is a “grave” threat in one speech then in another speech the same day says that Iran is “not a serious threat” Who smoking something?

And since you want truth, the candidates pledged not to campaign in Florida and Michigan before their primaries. Obama, not Clinton, broke that pledge. And it is the national ads that he ran, not the nearby ones that broke the rules. The DNC specifically named fundraisers as being allowed.

No candidate, not one, pledged that they wouldn’t argue for the states’ delegates to be seated.

  • Truth

Apparently you have trouble with the concept of context. He was saying it wasn’t a serious threat in comparison to what the U.S. faced with the Soviet Union. If you disagree with that, please explain. That doesn’t mean it’s not a threat to be dismissed lightly. He did expand on it the next day, because his first remarks were misinterpreted by some people who are only capable of getting their news in sound bites.

And yes, I am an Obama supporter. I once was a Clinton supporter, but watching her incredible pandering, race baiting and constant whining about sexism whenever someone says something negative about her led me to realize I made the wrong choice.

Don’t get me wrong – Obama is not perfect. He makes mistakes, and he, like all politicians, panders to an extent. But he has a level of integrity that Clinton lost a long time ago (maybe around the time she was fired from the Watergate commission for lying).

And to claim – “No candidate, not one, pledged that they wouldn’t argue for the states’ delegates to be seated.” – well, that is just incredibly disingenuous. And do you really think this compares to the struggle blacks and women faced to get the right to vote?

  • Ndree

    Sandy:

Well said, I love you for it. I had goose bumps reading your post.
One thing I disagree about. We will never really know the truth about that war vote. IMHO, the truth is that Dems who voted for the war never thought that that a–hole would just go like a madman and bomb the living hell out of a weak buffoon like Saddam, but merely wanted to hold the dagger over his head. IMHO, they (the Dems) are SO ashamed of having believed GWB capable of behaving with integrity, especially after the 2000 theft in Florida, they are ashamed of themselves.
