in january 2006 obama was part of a congressional delegation to Iraq. He was only in Iraq for 2 days
and then “separated from the delegation to ‘spend 8 dyas in Israel, Kuawait, Jordan and the Palestinian territories.’ The rest of the delegation went to Afghanistan and Pakistan without Obama.”

is this the time period for the soon-to-drop B.O. tape?

So how exactly did the Democratic members of the Florida legislature vote on moving the primary up? They voted for it, didn’t they? So there is no basis for saying that this forced upon the poor Florida Democrats, was there?

I agree re: the dirty deal. The fact that Brazile and Dean have misleadingly spoken in public about FL is evidence enough that they don’t have facts on their side but do have a motive for disenfranchising FL.

I wish I knew the details. Maybe President Bush could get one of those Telecoms he’s so fond of to bug DNC headquarters (electronically, not the way that Nixon did it in ’72).

Then again, Bush might want to share the democrat-enraging details but he wouldn’t, because he’d end up in prison.

I guess we’ll likely never learn what the DNC’s “leaders” really had in mind when playing the game as it has.

You’re right: they’re bothered only because Hillary benefited from standing up for FL — while Obama will truly look illegitimate (NO play on words) if he wins the nomination without having fought for FL and MI.

Interestingly enough, some FL legislators began talking about opening up our primaries — which would make it easier for Floridians to become NPAs.

I can’t help but wondering if our state Rs had this in mind all along. They really are good strategists.

I didn’t realize that we’re fellow (disenfranchised) Floridians.

I know that my Floridian co-blogger at Buck Naked Politics and I were talking about parallels between Recount 2000 and the FL disenfranchisement a few months ago — so I suspect that others in our sometimes-great state were also.
