Statement from Robert Kennedy Jr. [VIDEO update + Statement of Newspaper]

Robert Kennedy Jr. issued the following statement this evening:

“It is clear from the context that Hillary was invoking a familiar political circumstance in order to support her decision to stay in the race through June. I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband’s 1992 race, both of which were hard fought through June. I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense.”

###

THIS VIDEO is in Larry’s story below, but I am putting it up again so that EVERYONE can see the FULL CONTEXT in which Hillary made her statement:

::::::::::::

Statement from the Argus Leader

The Argus Leader’s Executive Editor Randell Beck issued the following statement today:

“The context of the question and answer with Sen. Clinton was whether her continued candidacy jeopardized party unity this close to the Democratic convention. Her reference to Mr. Kennedy’s assassination appeared to focus on the timeline of his primary candidacy and not the assassination itself.”

SPECIAL THANKS to Andy for sending me the statement from the Argus Leader.

  • lute

I would love for Robert Kennedy Jr. to get her senate seat when HRC is elected president.

    • Henry

We should just take our revenge on the Obama supporters in November. I rather see a Republican in the White House than see these Animal Farm Leftist in power.

      • Seymour Glass

I am a full time- professional – lifelong Democrat.

I can NEVER vote for these people….and I will not own the consequence of this…it will all be on them…supreme court gone – whatever….

My personal sense of honor would never allow me to vote for these scum. It would be no different than supporting Dubya.

        I despise these c*#@suckers…

I already wrote to Jonathon Singer at myDD and told him I will find him in Denver and bust him in the mouth for what he wrote tonight…I also wrote to Jerome and congratulated him for what hes allowed his own site to become.

Hope everyone comes to DC for FL/MI rally on the 31st!

        • wry

I asked my husband if he’d take care of our son so I could go. He said…”sure Sweetie!” Some men love their feminist women!

So should we have a NO QUARTER meet up there?

          • lute

Obama’s sending his dogs on this kind of garbage detail is the LAST STRAW.
I was planning to just vote for Nader. Now, I’m going to actively campaign against Obama.

            • Maddie

Links for Obama sending out anyone let alone “his dogs” for yet another one of Hillary’s “mistakes”.

              • Henry

Turn on the TV or are you living under a rock.

        • Griff

I don’t like Obama much, but anybody who does not vote for the Democratic nominee for president is a MORON. To choose not to vote or to vote for McAin is a betrayal of Democratic values.

Do what you want. Fight the good fight against the Obamabots for as long as you can.

But don’t give us four more years of treasonous GOP rule.

          Please.

          –Griff

          • Laura

The only thing that would be treasonous would be to vote for hussein obama. To vote for him would be a betrayal of American values. My loyalty is to America first and foremost, not a particular political party. To say we should vote for this miscreant simply because he is a democrat is insane. The democrats are not entitled to my vote and as far as I’m concerned, it is the democrats which have betrayed democratic values. To vote against them would be upholding democratic values. The democrats have left us. To put it more bluntly, the democrats have kicked us out of the party in essence. They have chosen to be the party of the radical left, have sold us out for Soros money and have kicked mainstream Americans to the curb. We don’t owe them our loyalty since they have already betrayed us.

            • Paulus

Calling Obama a “miscreant”? Betraying “American Values”? “Radical Left”? Obama is a candidate that HRC herself said was extremely close to her own positions numerous times over the last 5 months and now he’s “radical left”. And now you’re talking about “betrayal”. Great. An excellent contribution to the body politic.

We don’t want your vote. If it walks like a fascist and talks like a fascist, it’s a fascist. I’m sure they GOP will be happy to have you back in their camp

              • AF catfish

It’s temperament. His positions are fine, but his temperament, his messiah complex, that he issued a press release saying her comment was offensive because he’s been the subject of threats (hello? all candidates are the subject of threats), he has compared himself to RFK JFK MLK Lincoln, his calling everybody a racist.

                Nope, he is dangerous.

                • Paulus

You claim that Obama is dangerous. And yet, you’ll support a senator who gave Bush authorization to use force in Iraq and, more recently, after all that’s happened, in Iran. I don’t know whose judgment is worse, hers for not having any political courage, or yours for enabling her.

                  • wbboei

paulus- I would sooner vote for a man of high moral character like McCain than one of low moral character like yours. Under a flag of truce, your candidate chose to create this issue, throw gasoline on it and turn loose idiot like you. I do not want to live in an orwellian world where hatemongers like you hold sway– I really dont. That has become the issue and frankly it transcends everything else/

You Marxists have tried this several times before and the end result is and always will be the same. Just ask Mondale and Dukakis. You never learn. The only thing you succeed in doing is keeping us from electing more Democratic presidents. It is all your fault that we have only had two in thirty years.

The VAST majority of this party is not Marxist, they are moderates and swing voters. They are swing voters because they don’t like left wing radical candidates, and they especially don’t like their threatening, pushy surrogates. They have a problem with rowdy pushy pisspots trying to threaten them as well. And they aren’t leaving the party just because you cliff-hangers couldn’t make your fringe parties fly and you have nowhere else to go. The reason your parties can’t fly is because America wants none of your arrogant, bossy Marxist bullshit. Most of them aren’t on the internet but they Watch. On the second Tuesday in November, they always show up to to vote your misrable threatening asses back to where they belong.

Adults don’t let crackpots, radicals and pisspots pick presidents. You will find out that Obama is a taller Dukakis in the fall.

That’s real generous of your considering that your “candidate” like every other “candidate” wants every vote they can get. Stupid thing to think or say but to put it in writing for all the world to see what a fool you are is astounding.

No wait, you support Obama so no amount of foolishness or stupidity is astounding. Actually the ability to string words together is amazing considering your cognitive abilities.

            • AdmC

What has been done? With Obama winning in every category, popular vote, delegates and pledged delegates, (I know even HRC is trying to spin that if you do some quirky stuf she is somehow ahead in the nation popular vote but that is simply not true) why are you so angry, apparently feeling this has been “stolen” perhaps?

Why vote for more war, more dead and maimed, fewer rights, especially women’s rights (the supreme court appointments can affect those for fifty years)?

And for the others, Obama did nothing to seize this gaffe which HRC has made on more than this occasion. The media asked his campaign for a statement and they got one. Nothing bad was said about HRC.

Unite. OK, finish you fight for HRC and when it is over, let us ALL UNITE for this country. Yes, put AMerica first and you will vote for either HRC or Obama, whomever is the nominee.

              • Barb

Obama missed a perfect opportunity to show that he’s a new kind of politician. He should have STRONGLY condemned all of these people that are twisting Clinton’s words to imply that she was hoping for an assassination.

He should have said – I know that you think you’re building me up by tearing her down, but that isn’t the case. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

              • Hednry

                Barb,

Tell me what has Obama done during his tenure in the SEnate to end the war?

              • http://motorcityliberalblogspot.com Johnny C.

                Quick Obama fact:

                1. When MI and FLA are counted Obama loses the popular vote. That’s one Obama talking point down the drain

                2. Obama has either bribe or in black SD cases threaten them with challengers.

                3. as for your calls for unity fuck unity I will not play the good little Dem solider for a man I don’t believe in.

Obama has took a page of the George W. Bush playbook from 2000 and 2004 let your flunkies do the dirty work while you present the image of being above petty politics.

            • Maddie

what are your values, I have to ask. Because your post makes no sense.

Sorry Griff – do you not remember Kerry asking McCain to be his veep? Obama’s combination of ignorance and arrogance is dangerous. He may have the right ideas, but his temperament is too unpredictable.

      • catriley

Oh yeah… those assholes have cemented my resolve to never, ever, vote for Obama. They knew full well what they were doing when the started this attack on what Hillary said. His campaign jumped right into it.

Well screw ‘em. If obama’s spokesman, Bill Burton wants to make this an issue, that’s fine. But he has hardened our resolve against Obama. I find it SO hilarious that Bill Burton’s mother-in-law, Rep. Lois Capps, actually used the language that Obama “brings out our better angels” and that’s why she is supporting him, in her role as superdelegate.

So Lois? Is THAT what you call bring out our better angels???? Really? Using the tragic assasination of a US Senator for their own advantage? That’s noble?

Nope. It’s Hillary or McCain. End of story.

        • Paulus

Are you fucking kidding? HRC invokes Bobby Kennedy’s MURDER, and it’s Obama that you’re accusing of behavior that’s beyond the pale?

Hillary really can do no wrong in your eyes, can she? And you accuse the “Obamabots” of drinking the Kool-Aid. Remove the mote from thine eye, brother.

          • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity

I’m not your brother. I’m a woman and I despise Barack Obama. Can you guess why? There are plenty of us. And that’s one more thing you will find out.

But you keep up your arrogant Marxist pisspot behaviors. There are still a few voting blocks you haven’t pissed off yet. I hope your calculations that you can win a General Election with AAs, radicals, old hippies still on the bong and college kids works out for you. In fact I know it will. It will work out just as well as it did for McGovern, Dukakis and Mondale. As it is many of us held our noses and voted for Kerry. He was too out of touch to actually communicate anything so he didn’t manage to piss off hicks, Jews, women, Italians, Old people and Latinos. Most of these are huge voting blocks. I’m sure I left a few blocks out, the list is getting so long.

Barack Obama won’t be getting that Kerry grace this year. This party has a huge Silent Majority. I’ve seen out of touch Barack Obamas come and go before. This is not a new movie for me. He’s a loser and will probably outdo McGovern in the voting percentage. Hard to even imagine.

          • Deep Truths

You are projecting Paulus. You and your ilk hate women especially a strong, intelligent one and you wait in an alley to pounce on the least bit of crumbs.

You Obamanuts are becoming as despised as this Messian Moaist Osama in sheeps clothing.

YOU should contemplate voting for Hillary in November are staying at home, because B. Hussein Obama won’t be on the ticket. Hillary’s campaign has been gracious in keeping all the muckery out of the limelight. The genuflecting dick kissers a.k.a the media, is desperately keeping his sordid past out just long enough for Hussein to sneek past the convention. Or so they thought. The delegates either know or certainly will know THE FACTS about The One and not this Wall Street Chi-town equivalent of the Manchurian Candidate.

Its curtains for Obama. Its just a matter of timing.

          • http://deleted AnninCa

That’s fairly irrational thinking, but that is par for the course, I’m afraid, in this election.

          • Henry

I despise him too. This man can’t be trusted. He is basically George Bush. Worse than George Bush. He talks from both-sides of his mouth.

When they started with the “Hillary didn’t cry for the victim of Katrina” I knew that they were going to swift-boat her with racial charges.

See…what we all know is that a way for them to get the black vote it was necessary to paint her as racist. After all the Clinton’s did for AA. They basically turned on them. I don’t blame AA, they were also victimize by the Obama’s. Remember Michelle’s ” they will wake up” comment.

It was all planned and they had the surrogates all out in force.

They played the George Bush hand. criticize me and you are attacking Christians, america, etc…

But Obama played the ultimate card…RACE.

I will vote for Republicans for the first time in my life. i will enjoy it. Anyone that supports Obama will not get my vote.

People the Animal Farm leftist are trying to do to the Democratic Party what the fringe radical right did to the Republican Party. TAKe it over.

I should have written something as classy as RFKJr. did.

I did send this to BooMan and challenged him to do the honorable thing and post this statement by RFKJr.

He wrote an obnoxious piece of tripe about Hillary’s statement today. He has a lot of nerve. A couple months ago, he declared he would NEVER vote for her. So his opinion on these matters is meaningless.

        • Andy

At least BTD apologized for his own initial nonsensical reaction; he also cites the Argus Leader’s Executive Editor Statement from Hillary Clinton’s webpage.

          Jeralyn at TL reports:

Update: Big Tent Democrat writes in the comments on the open thread:

I think it is clear I overreacted and I think this statement from the persons in the room is definitive: The Argus Leader’s Executive Editor Randell Beck issued the following statement today:

“The context of the question and answer with Sen. Clinton was whether her continued candidacy jeopardized party unity this close to the Democratic convention. Her reference to Mr. Kennedy’s assassination appeared to focus on the timeline of his primary candidacy and not the assassination itself.”

While Keith Olbermann’s incredible stupidity makes me ashamed that I was even a part of anything that fed the craziness, I can not undo what I wrote. At the time, it was my honest reaction.

I've had this happen to me several times lately and it is so upsetting and depressing -- after I've spent two to three hours writing something, and have the first comment be utterly off-topic.... it really hurts my feelings, and it destroys the potential to launch a related discussion.

Never mind what RFK Jr. says. What does he know, after all? Keith Olbermann is god, haven’t you heard?

Seriously, Keith Olbermann’s remarks tonight were the worst in the history of television punditry. He really needs to be fired from MSNBC. He uses Clinton’s entirely appropriate remarks about extended primaries, including 1968, to make a character assassination on Hillary Clinton.

He needs to be fired. There needs to be a campaign to get him off the air.

    • catriley

Sign me up, I so done with that misogynistic, self-loving, asshole.

    • Barb

I agree. Olbermann has crossed the line. He wasn’t just expressing an opinion – that was pure hate speech.

      • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity Woman

I think it was on Fox where they said that MSNBC is seriously considering whether Olberman is a liability to them. Same with Matthews.

        • Clara Barton

Nothing would get their goats at MSNBC than to have Fox talking about them exploding over this, then laughing about it. The turnaround in Keith O was like night and day. I think he must have been injected with Hopium and suffered an allergic reaction. The man is wracked with hate.

          • Ken

We need to see what took place on MSNBC Friday night.
I think there’s a clue there as to why these Obama supporters are going nuts!

If these are the kinds of people Obama has spawned…Lord help us! Who needs Hope and Change such as this?

So once again Hillary’s fans blame Obama for her screw ups. So typical. She has zero accountibility just like BushCo. Bravo.

        • ndree

I am REALLY beginning to think that there is INDEED an Obama Koolaid, and that members of the press are given triple doses of it. I mean, who in their right minds would/ rather COULD become so thoroughly assinine, pimped out, incoherent to ANY cause?
Why would any channel PAY to put such crap on TV, to say nothing about calling it news. I mean this is demeaning to the word journalist, puts the word “NEWS” out of business, and makes America the laughing stock of the world!

      • Andy

I don’t have cable TV so I (thank G’) didn’t watch what he said but if you did please write a stern letter to the appropriate MSNBC Execs. Keep it factual and from the viewpoint of an objective viewer.

        Thanks!

he has sexual problems. Women in the media in NYC know this.

The O’bama-man is a narcissistic, closeted bi-sexual, misogynistic, sycophantic, Edward R. Murrow wannabe.

His 180 degree turn is opportunistic. He is no doubt experiencing cognitive dissonance with his current ratings plunge. He just keeps digging the hole deeper in search of his deluded sense of grandeur (which he actually had) but the genie is out of the bottle. Impossible to get back to where he once was.

  • sjl106

It is disgusting obama, obamabots, and the media are playing this. But it doesn’t surprise me anything to shoot down the only qualified person to be the nominee, who happens to be a woman.

    • name

Wait until November, when these same people are stunned that they have lost in an election cycle where the Democratic party was practically guaranteed a win given the state of the nation.

      Instead, you have:

      a) Olbermann sounding like the left’s version of Rush Limbaugh with each passing day

      b) Republicans making perfectly logical arguments (i.e. reality-based party) such as: “This is the party that went bonkers over 537 votes in Florida in 2000, and now they want to ignore 1.7 million Democrats in the same state, plus 600,000 in Michigan?” (Byron York-National Review)

      c) A vast silent majority of ordinary, hard-working Democrats (i.e. blue-collar Reagan Democrats) being lambasted on TV by the punditocracy and alluded in quasi-racist terms such as “the white vote” etc.; who will find themselves wondering if they shouldn’t abandon the D-party altogether given that aside from Hillary, none of the party leaders stood up for them or defended them when the punditocracy was lambasting them because they did not vote for the media’s “chosen” candidate

      d) same argument as above, but this time applying to women, given the treatment of Hillary by many of the same pundits and the opposition (i.e. throwing the kitchen sink, etc..); again, not a word from Dean or other leaders until Saturday Night Live started poking fun at the pundits/media for the way she was being portrayed in the debates etc.

      • annie

good post. Thanks for the York quote. I agree these people will be stunned in Nov…and then they’ll just blame it all on Hillary!

    • cc

I think this behavior shows the obamatots are really, really scared Hillary might just pull this off.

      • http://www.obama-is-toast.com Dear patriotic billionaire: please up the bounty on the video to 10 million!

That’s what I think as well.

    • Maddie

again why are you blaming Obama and his supporters for Hillary’s massive gaffe?

  • catriley

God Bless you, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. I had posted in an earlier thread that I believed a comment from RFK, Jr. would be the appropriate way to stop the madness today. If the Obama supporters, the media, and Obama’s campaign, wishes to continue this attack, they are stepping into the realm of using Robert F. Kennedy’s death for their own advantage.

I was shaking with rage at the political opportunism that has been displayed today by the Obama campaign, and the media. I am not a person who shakes with rage. The editor of the newspaper corroborates the context in which this was said:

The Argus Leader’s Executive Editor Randell Beck issued the following statement today:

“The context of the question and answer with Sen. Clinton was whether her continued candidacy jeopardized party unity this close to the Democratic convention. Her reference to Mr. Kennedy’s assassination appeared to focus on the timeline of his primary candidacy and not the assassination itself.”

And now RFK, Jr. does as well. The media, with their breathless coverage of this need to listen to the people directly involved, and back off.

THis is shameful, shameful, day in American politics. How dare they?

    • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity Woman

Honestly I’ve seen them do worse. I’m used to it.

    • ndree

They must be VERY frightened of Hillary! That should reassure us!

      • usedmeat

Not frightened, they have a job to do, derail Hillary’s campaign. Some of them enjoy doing this job more than the others.

  • http://www.arguewitheveryone.com ChrisXP

Have to get RFK’s own son to vouche for Hillary. These Obamatics are lower than dog shit. >:(

You can bet that the MSM won’t even mention this, either — especially after having a PC field day at Hillary’s expense.

    • Hope

Anderson Cooper I think mentioned RFK Jr’s response but still seemed to push the issue.

    • Maddie

I am sure RFK jr didn’t know Hillary said it 4 times at least and that for her staff it was one of the scenaros they were hoping for.

  • It’s Not Me

Obamarhoids know damn well what Hillary said and meant and they’re REALLY making freakin’ fools out of themselves by distorting what she said. Anyone with a brain knows she wasn’t talking about BO.

  • avwrobel

Thank you Bobby! That took some guts. I watched the interview and clearly Hillary meant nothing by it. So what’s really going on? With Obama flopping around over Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran doubts starting to grow about him, so his media apologists have to manufacture a distraction. Hillary supporters fight back hard!!!

  • Cassyma

I’m in! He definitely needs to be taken down (as in fired). Sheesh, now I feel like I have to explain everything to death (figuratively speaking of course!). :)

He is pond scum and I really wonder why nobody tries to take legal action against MSNBC/NBC for what amounts to defamation of character of many, many people. (some that I’m not too crazy about, but still…)

Hillary’s statement had nothing to do with Obama.

Candy Crowley and Tony Perkins (Family Research Council) stood up for her on Anderson Cooper.

Robert Kennedy, Jr. is owed a great thanks for stepping up on her behalf.

Notice the DNC is letting the media dump all over Hillary? Obama lets this go on when he can call of his media dog.

    Going Independent

    • http://www.arguewitheveryone.com ChrisXP

Obama lets this go on when he can call of his media dog.

Because he is a dog, and dogs are pack animals.

      • HillaryMadamePresident

Correct. They seem to have a pack mentality.

    • AF catfish

      Obama incited it:

The Obama campaign’s decision to target Clinton’s RFK reference forced the former first lady to express regret for her remarks.

And look, because I might be asassinated! (Along with every presidential candidate, buddy):

When Clinton referenced RFK’s assassination while discussing previous Democratic nomination fights which stretched into June, she was quickly scolded by the Obama campaign.

“Senator Clinton’s statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign,” wrote Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton in a missive to reporters.

Burton’s e-mail included a link to a New York Post story which noted that Obama, who received a Secret Service detail early in the campaign, has been the subject of threats.

  • DebBonney

The Obama cultists are already saying Robert Kennedy Jr. doesn’t count (because he is a heretic, I suppose).

    • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity Woman

      No he doesn’t count. He’s only Bobby’s son, wheras they are…….um……..they are……um..

    • catriley

No, please tell me the Obamabots are NOT going there. Tell me they are not discounting the words of the late Senator’s own son.

I watched them attack one of the 9/11 widows because she had the “audacity” to choose Hillary over Obama, and write about it on Huffpo. I watched them attack Bill Clinton, who has done more in 8 years for Obama’s own supporters than Obama ever has in his life. They attacked Joseph Wilson, Valerie Plame, and Madeline Albright.

      Now this?

They are the scum of the earth. The statements by both the editor of the newspaper, and by RFK, jr. would have stopped this insanity immediately if this was not a cult. It’s a cult. I guarantee it. And Obama’s campaign is one of the nastiest and ugliest in history.

  • catriley

BTW, feel free to let KO know how you feel about his nauseating attack on Hillary tonight:

Damn I sent my letter to “letters@MSNBC.com” cuz I went to MSNBC.com and couldn’t find the proper email address. What gets me with the Olbermanns, the Ed Schultz and Steph Millers is the double standards Hillary can’t talk about the media being unfair to her yet they can whine about the media focusing on Rev. Tonight we got to see the Democratic race for what it’s become: a WITCH HUNT.

The mob is closing in on the woman they call a “witch” because she’s smart and powerful and they fear her. Actually, its probably best to make it clear beyond any shadow of a doubt.

For the first time in my adult life, the democratic party disgusts and embarrasses me as an american more than the republican party has ever done and i am realy realy ahsamed to be a member of this party that seems to suddenly have so many race-baiters and women-haters.

This is a good example of beware of your news sources. I never watch the MSN stuff. I heard the story from my 2 talk radio guys who are usually way over the top conservatives. But they sort of like Hillary. Anyway, they told the news and gave the full context and discussed why should would have used that comparison. But there wasn’t any mention of anything nefarious. It was more like “foot in mouth” moment, which as one pointed out, “These folks really are human and make mistakes.”

So I figured it would give the Obama nut supporters another reason to bash Hillary. Most people just aren’t that irrational, so it’s just a gaffe that isn’t really even a gaffe.

I think the Obama slugs are using this to gin up their excuse for when they don’t offer the VP slot to Hillary. Of coarse they don’t realize, Hillary won’t offer the VP slot to him because it would weaken the ticket. Whereas, if Obama should, by a strange quirk of bad luck happen to get the Dem nomination, he would have to ask Hillary to strengthen his chances to get elected. Of coarse we all know, he doesn’t have a snowballs chance … No matter what.

    It will not work.

Well, rest assured if it doesn’t work, i am sure Barry will send Michelle to the local Outdoor Sporting Goods store before he puts her on a plane to that CLinton Ralley in puerto Rico.

More like a character suicide than assassination.

Well, unless you count the phantom sniper fire she dodged… LOL.

Every time Hillary opens her mouth she just digs that hole a little deeper and more people donate $20 to Obama.

  • http://lkcampbell.blogspot.com Lucinda

If Bobby Kennedy’s son didn’t take offense, and the newspaper that actually did the interview said that her words have been taken out of context, then there’s no story here. The ones who’ve tried to make a story out of it are just making fools of themselves. And one thing we can be thankful for is that the majority of people who vote in this country don’t read HuffPo. (I don’t. I never heard of it until I started coming here, but I’m just an average American. What do I know?) And of FoxNews, CNN and MSNBC, guess which one is the lowest rated. If you answered MSNBC, you get a gold star. Most average Americans are (sorry) watching FoxNews. (According to the Neilsen ratings posted yesterday, May 22.)

    • Five Thirty

I think that people who hate the Clintons subscribe to the Huffington Post. The same people who like Drudge.

  • HillaryMadamePresident

Thank you, Robert Kennedy, Jr., for your statement. Obama Supporters and MSM should accept your statement and Hillary’s statement and stop trying to turn her words into something that they were not. Thanks for the update, Susan!

  • http://www.obama-is-toast.com Dear patriotic billionaire: please up the bounty on the video to 10 million!

I was thinking this blog is such a headache for Obama when most of the major blogs have been taken over by crazed Obamabots. I don’t think Barry will be able to take over all the Republican blogs so easy. That is, if by some miracle his campaign is still going after the convention.

  • Mostest

This is for Hillary. Stay strong and go LOOOOOONG:

I believe when our grandchildren study this primary in the history books, they will be reading about how the first woman president saved Democracy.

I use to wonder why the republicans hated the Clintons so much (by the many books and columns written many people have wondered that, too). I use to wonder why Hillary was targeted so much. Was it sexism? Was it that she stayed with Bill? Was she too aloof? Was she too secretive? Was she too pretty? Was she too unattractive? Was her ankles to fat? Was it that she preferred pantsuits to dresses? Was she too smart? Was she too much of a “career” woman and not Tammy Wynette?
And then the whole “Monica” affair. The Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones stuff. Why did Hillary stay with Bill? Why was there a blue dress? Why didn’t Hillary just leave Bill and spare herself some of that public humiliation and embrassement (and I mean before Monica)? Why? Why?

It is because Hillary had to go through all of that to be able to survive this.
I am a firm believer in destiny. I believe every moment of each of our lives has been set. “Free will” is the path we take to get to those moments. All the years of battling the republicans, the media, Bill, herself, whomever was preparing her for this moment. Can you imagine, Kerry or Al Gore taking this kind of heat, hate, and loathing? Please!

Hillary was born to arrive at this moment. From birth to Wellesley to HERE.
I believe Obama is a fatally flawed candidate. Obama is connected to too many characters (Rev. Wright, Rezko, Ayers) that did not respect the values of America. That only recognize the ugly America not the beautiful America. There is a cockiness, arrogances to Obama that speaks of ugly cunningness that makes me alarmed.

I also believe the MSM along with its corporate owners want to fundamentally change how WE Americans pick OUR president. Corporate America with all of its billions and trillion can not stop one person from walking into a booth and voting. That simple act of voting cancels out all of their billions, all of their lobbyist clout, and all of their brought politicans. So, corporate america has to use its Media power to make us vote a particular why–they have to”manage” the narrative. They have to “jimmie” the infomation so we vote for whoever they want for whatever reason they have.

Hillary staying in the race demonstrate that the corporate media cannot DENT the AWESOME power of the simple act of voting. For as long as she stays in the race the narrative corporate america has constructed starts to falter a little. The narrative starts to unravel a little. The longer Hillary stays in the race the bias a few saw in the beginning starts to become more obvious. It becomes more obvious to the non political junkie. The “narrative” can not be supported and it begins to crumble. See Lou Dobbs. Then the question becomes why is the Media bias towards Obama and against Hillary? What is their business here? Why is Obama being cramped down our throats?

Our grandchildren will be reading and studying about this time in American History. I also believe they will be taking field trips to see the monument of the first woman president Hillary Clinton who saved Democracy (Big “D”).

    • llilytoo

Loved your post! I have been saying only all that crap years ago would have prepared Hilary for this crap now. Also in my house we say everyday Hillary is in, it’s a good day for Democracy. I agree she will save Democracy. I think Hillary knows it and that is what makes her run as hard as she does. She knows she must.

  • yheitman

lettters@msnbc.com is the address to write to to ask that Keith Olbermann be fired. He’s a hate-mongering a**hole! Spit out those e-mails to MSNBC by the hundreds Hillary supporters.

    • Mostest

Forget about it. KO is doing exactly what his corporate bosses want–feeding the Obamatons. Forget about!

    • missE

My email said in part: Keith Olbermann gave a heads up to Daily Kos that he was going for Clinton’s throat: Guess what? He missed.

I also told them they should check out their own lofty election coverage ads and live up to them.

      • Former Hope

Olbermann’s special comment tonight was so psychotic I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I think he’s on the verge of a nervous breakdown or he’s just bipolar as all hell. This man is a sickening disgrace and I highly doubt that either Rush Limbaugh or Bill O’Reilly could sound as completely maniacal as he sounded this evening. Keith has absolutely no balance whatsoever and has no respect for the outright infamy of what the future could hold for him if he continues to step on sensitive toes. He keeps putting that SHIT out there and it is going to come back to hit him in the proverbial face. He’s a fool.

    • Former Hope

I fucking hate Keith Olbermann. And to think I was a fan of his at one time. This bastard would turn on his own mother. He’s truly mean-spirited. He needs to be fired or meet up with the Mafia.

    • cows4us

I don’t know if that will help as he has the #1 show on MSNBC with around 800,000 viewers.

Fox news is by far the most watched of them all with over 2 million regular viewers. Thank god at least they are giving Hillary a fair shake and truly vetting Obama.

The only way to hurt them is by boycotting them and their advertisers. I have – no more MSNBC ever!

      • http://lkcampbell.blogspot.com Lucinda

Absolutely! I’ve been boycotting them since Super Tuesday. The only way to hurt MSNBC is to hurt their ratings. The lower their ratings, the less they can charge for advertising.

    • remember in november

      here’s what I wrote msnbc:

      Please fire Keith Olbermann!

I am offended and disgusted by the content of tonight’s special comment by KO. It is an example of slanderous hate speech, pure and simple. I have watched the original video of Senator Clinton speaking in context, she said nothing untoward. I have read RFK Jr’s statement on the matter as well as that of the newspaper that interviewed Senator Clinton. Coming on the heels of KO’s “take her into a room and only one of them comes out” remark, this is a last straw moment for me as far as NBC is concerned.

I will no longer watch MSNBC or NBC or in any way patronize your sponsors or General Electric. I am informing your advertisers that I will not be buying their wares. (FYI, I am a lifelong liberal, with a graduate degree, and a multiethnic family, making over 100k/year.)

The blatant pro Obama bias and sexualized disrespect of Senator Clinton displayed by MSNBC during this primary makes a mockery of journalistic integrity and civilized decency. I believe that you have allowed several of your news commentators and analysts to promote a virulent climate of aggression and verbal violence towards Senator Clinton to the point that now, after tonight’s performance, I truly fear for HER safety. If God, forbid, anything horrendous should occur, you will have blood on your collective hands indeed! For shame!

  • Darryl

I don’t understand this. How come Hillary doesn’t hire some lawyers to go after the news. This type of deliberate misleading has to be illegal. I mean the media is making it all but seem that she is calling for Obama to be assasinated. Isn’t that Liable or something?

    • Five Thirty

I think that in the USA it is very hard to win in court for this kind of thing, especially if you are a public figure.

Given all of the things throughout history which have happened in June, Hellary mentions the assassination of Bobby Kennedy? An unusually close parallel to Obama or wishful thinking or maybe instructions to the wack job racist out there?

“You guys aren’t doing your job!”
That’s what I hear Hellary saying!
Maybe that’s just me, …. we will find out at Barak’s wake.

Bobby Kennedy was assassinated as he was leaving the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, after celebrating his victory in the California primary.

      On June 6th, 1968.

Your corrupt empty suit from Chicago isn’t worthy to have his name linked in any manner with that of Robert F. Kennedy.

When I watched that obama “hoodwinked” video I was repulsed by him. If that were the only thing about him out there I might have voted for him. But not with everything else up to and including this last bit of manufactured outrage. I thought this kind of loonacy was reserved for republicans. I have friends that believed the Clintons committed all those murders. I thought we were the party of critical thinkers. Guess I thought wrong.

  • ForeignIvyeLeagueGirlLivingintheUS

I think it is sort of like crying wolf. The more Obama campain cries ‘racism’, the more people get immune to it, and the less effective it is. People are getting fed up with it, a kind of reverse psychology, so I don’t know how much more mileage they can get out of it. In the end, I think it does a great disservice to AA commnunity because it trivializes serious cases of racism in the workplace, etc. People do get fed up with it, especially those who actively fought for civil rights or are otherwise engaged in AA community affairs. And about Olbermann, he is realy a disgrace. To quote Hamlet: “The lady thou protest too much.” It’s almost like he is in some kind of panic mode, fear of being ousted as true closet racist. He is just too much at this point. I don’t know if he is aware that he really starts coming off as borderline on mentally unstable.

The irony of this is that had Obama not turned the prior comments into such torrid racist spin to the point where people have had it up to here with the ‘Chicken Little Universe’ that he has created in this Primary, then maybe he might have gotten some mileage out of this comment. The fact is they have over-leveraged the race card. They have rendered it neuter. The horror that I knew would happen from the moment this biracial man started this crap has officially come to pass. When AAs wake up to the fact that we no longer occupy the moral high ground on the issue of race because Obama shamelessly and ruthlessly exploited racism for personal ambition, there is going to be a resounding shock in the black community.

I posted earlier that the Obama campaign should be careful not to risk over-spining this, but they never ever learn. Now that Robert Kennedy Jr. has come forth with his statement and even one of the original journalists has issued an apology, how much credibility is it for them to behave with such faux indignation? Now you can plainly see why I’ve been so pissed off at these white Obama trolls crying racism at every turn on behalf of the AA community. It’s been despicable. They’ve been dancing on the graves of slaves. And for what? To get this unqualified, inexperienced man who does not even share their common ancestry, elected POTUS?

I’m so glad that I stoppped watching tv. I refuse to let people like Olberman, Matthews, Cooper, Russert be the toxic waste in my mental environment. They are sailing on the SS Obama-Titanic and we all know how that’s going to turn out.

So let them choke on their own misogynistic bile. The tragedy is that Obama is SO not worth it. But it’s their career decision and they’ll only have themselves to blame.

    • ForeignIvyeLeagueGirlLivingintheUS

I am so agreeing with you on this. I am worrying that there will be a terrible backlash against AA community because of the loss of moral high ground, as you righly pointed out. It almost makes me cry because he is so not worth it. All of the goodwill capital that AA community currently have because of the American past will be spend on this one man’s vain pursuit of power….

      • daltonz

Obama is victimizing the black community big time. His defeat in November will be a huge setback not just to blacks but to other racial minorities as well. His so-called uniter not a divider scam is much more corrosive than anything George W Bush ever did in terms of race relations.

        • AF catfish

And I can so bet Obama’s loss in November will be blamed on people being too racist.

It’s because he is unqualified and frankly, so immature I will vote McCain because his temperament worries me less! Yes I will vote with a man I totally disagree with simply because he’s more stable.

I so hope McCain picks a black v.p. so the country can prove it’s because they do not like Obama, not because of racism.

    • Laura

      All brilliantly stated.

    • StatBabe

mimi, I very much agree with your sentiments. There’s another issue that worries me–perhaps more than what has been going on with this primary (particularly with McBush’s incompetent campaign thus far. That’s what will happen if by some miracle Obama DOES manage to secure the presidency. Clearly, he is inexperienced and has failed to lay out any concrete proposals for dealing with health care, the economy, the war in Iraq, or anything else for that matter. Too much of his campaign has been built upon a lot of lofty rhetoric and a basic “trust me” premise. Well, I DON’T trust Obama to achieve jack–particularly when the bastard shamelessly used race and right-wing talking points to get where he has gotten thus far.

If Obama DOES become president and ends up being a dismal failure, how long do you suppose it will be before ANOTHER minority is given a fair chance to run for president? I predict that it will be a cold day when hell freezes over.

I’ve said all along that I intend to vote for the Democratic ticket in November, but this latest round of assaults from the Obamabots has me thinking more and more seriously about not voting. This is not inconsequential for me since I have voted in EVERY SINGLE election since 1972. Between the media trying to make Hillary into a monster for mentioning Bobby Kennedy’s campaign and assassination in June of 1968 to the Obama campaign refusing to entertain the possibility of including Hillary on the ticket, I am really FED UP with these jerks. I absolutely will NOT vote for McBush since he’s a doddering old fool who was so stupid that he even latched on to Bush’s asinine “appeasement” commentary to the Israeli Knesset. But it will take an incredible effort to convince me to bother voting for Obama. If he puts Hillary on the ticket, I will certainly vote for the Democratic ticket, but if he continues to act like a petulant child, I definitely will stay home. At least, if Hillary is VP, there’s a chance that Obama will not completely eff everything up!

I suppose that there is still a remote possibility (and becoming more remote every day) that Hillary will become the Democratic presidential nominee, but the numbers are the numbers, which do not favor Hillary Clinton becoming the Democratic nominee. I cannot help but wonder if this latest thing over Bobby Kennedy was purposely orchestrated to provide Obama with an excuse for keeping Hillary off the ticket. Well, for this Democrat, it will NOT work! Instead, it only makes me angrier at the way that Obama and his allies in the media have behaved!

It is interesting to me that so many white Obama supporters are SO worried that the AA community will turn their backs on the Democratic Party if this unqualified biracial man does not rise to become the Democratic nominee. They had better start worrying about all the women who are mad as hell over the way that Hillary has been treated–particularly after she has systematically whooped Obama’s a** in EVERY SINGLE debate! There WILL be hell to pay if Obama continues to snub Hillary.

    • MereMortal

      Me too. No TV.

What attacks by Obama trolls? Some media outlets went way overboard trying to draw ratings, a bland statement was issued by the Obama campaign (probably prompted by the same media outlets), and practically every comment section of every article on the subject is filled entirely with angry Hillery/McCain supporters screaming about the awful things Obama and his supporters said? But there are practically NO comments about this from Obama supports anywhere – and he has made no statement at all. Your outrage is feeding on itsel, and I have to wonder how many republican trolls are posting on here fanning the flames.

Yeah, the Kennedy with the tan dress up really creeps me out. It feels like Michelle’s weid fantasy. Reminds me of the play “House of Yes.” The main heroine “recently released from an insane asylum, suffers from a variety of unnamed mental illnesses, one of which causes her to dress like and take on the mannerisms of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.”

  • BobO

That is just fucking ridiculous and these people with their media machine have made this front page headlines, completely ignoring what she is really saying is they have shown no respect for her or her very legitimate candidacy from the beginning.

It’s obvious what she meant! She’s talking about a disastrous convention wherein they lost the challenger to Humphrey and thus he got it and promptly lost to Nixon.

I’m sure she has on her mind the 1968 convention, the protests, the busting heads and nominating a guy who basically didn’t run in the primaries…..and the result for all of that was Nixon.

So, where are we now, these little dogma gang called Obama followers and what is McCain like?

and let’s not forget a very unpopular war.

So of course she had 1968 on her mind, I have too.

It looks like she was trying to point out these asshats called Obamamaniacs and their campaign by being subtle so they had to jump on something to detract from what she was saying!

    Relax, relax.

It is a long time until the convention and even longer until election day.
Every minute that goes by, every second is to our advantage.
Barack Obama will implode, maybe even by his own hand. All we need is time and we have that.

    Two things :
    1. It’s perfectly clear now what we and Hillary are up against. Hillary must remain stalwart and stay in the race until she crosses the finish line, the winner.

2.The above said, I think it is Hillary who could be the object of assassination.

unfortunately i agree with point 2.

I wouldnt put it past those who were involved in that to continue their take no prisoners policy of forwarding Senator Obamboozlama’s ambitions.

The flaw in Hillary’s thinking (but one among many) is that the ’08 primaries have been moved way, way up compared to ’92 and ’68. It’s not the same thing at all…

If she wants to say “Well, those elections weren’t decided until the California primary in June…” then great… Problem is OUR California primary was in February!

    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BogJvgdH6eo&eurl=http://obamawho.wordpress.com/ Jeremiah “God Damn AmeriKKKA” Wright

Kid Kool-aid #35296 the parallel being drawn is tht it is not unusual for the democratic primary races to be run and contested well into june.

Its not the state of california she was pointing out but the length of the primary season.

And incase the Koolaid drinkers have forgotten, Teddy the great ran his campaign all the way to the convention against a sitting president (carter) with a much much much bigger delegate deficit and no where near the popular vote that Senator CLinton has.

He better thank whatever god he prays to that he is living in the united states of america.

The man has no class, no respect for anything and is the type of human being that if an alien species were to encounter and examine, would result in justification for the immeadiate extermination of the entire human race.

But there is a reason God Invented the Bus.

Lets hope he walks in front of one soon.

This is the last straw – if they are intent on making such mountains out of mole-hills, then I seriously have to question Obama’s judgment and that of his advisors (of whom he plans to have run the govt as he himself acknowledged he is too inexperienced and unqualified).

Is this how he’s gonna react to foreign leader’s comments in those no pre-conditions meetings he wants to hold?

What if the chancellor of Germany referenced Hitler? Will he think they are threatening to invade Poland and create another world war?

Or how about the Prime Minister of Japan referencing the historical nuclear bombing of Hiroshima? Will he and his advisors conclude erroneously as they have done here that the Japanese are threatening nuclear annihilation of the United States?

How about the PM mentioning Pearl Harbor? If we are to take it in the same context as he wishes us do with Clinton’s statement – then that would be the equivalent of an act of war! Even Dubya at least tried to scare us with “weapons of mass destruction.”

The Obama campaign’s incompetency is overwhelming!

One tiny reassurance to this story is at least the fact that we now know for sure that Hillary is still in contention and is scaring the crap out of the Obama camp – since if this race was really over, they wouldn’t care what Hillary said. They know they are vulnerable and unelectable and that’s why they’re pushing so hard on this statement to distract from Michelle Obama’s “whitey” tape that will soon be unleashed.

  • Centrocitta

RFK’s assasination during his presidential campaign in June 1968 is a historical fact which cannot be denied. Therefore, Hillary Clinton has a right to bring it up in whatever context she chooses. Obama supporters, on the other hand, need to grow some balls because they remind me of another group of American wimps. And they would be the Bush supporters who wrote letters to Italian authorities asking them to deny Robert DiNero’s recognition of Italian citizenship because he makes movies about the Mafia. Italy’s response? The Mafia is a part of Italian history and it can never be denied.

  • cows4us

They take outrage at this? She never even mentions Obama. Reminds me of that song: “You’re so vain, you think this song is about you, don’t you, don’t you?” – should be Obama’s theme song.

Faking indignation – what about this according to Julia Keller:

The cultural theme of women as monsters that need to be killed and obliterated applied to Hillary –

“Hence the appalling preponderance of violent, death-infused imagery in conversations about Clinton, smuggled into otherwise ordinary political discourse like a knife taped on the bottom of a cake plate:

On CNN, pundit Alex Castellanos said democrats must realize that “it’s time to take the family dog to the vet.”

Matthews’ MSNBC colleague Keith Olbermann expressed the hope that “somebody will take her into a room—and only he comes out.”

CNN’s Jack Cafferty gleefully floated the specter of Clinton being run over by a flatbed truck.

A recent Tribune editorial compared Clinton to a euthanized Kentucky Derby contender.”

Now those are death threats. Not a comparison of herself (not Obama – the egotistical maniac) to RFK.

    • C. S.

You have said what has been bothering me for some time over the course of this primary. Growing up in a decade dominated by the assassination of our nation’s leaders (JFK – Nov. 22, 1963; MLK – April 4, 1968, RFK – June 6, 1968) it is reasonable for us “babyboomers” of all ages to be a little paranoid about the security of those candidates that challenge the status quo but that is certainly not true for Senator Barack Obama. He was living in another country far away from the political assassinations of the 1960s that colored our childhoods and young adulthoods.

Senator Hillary Clinton acknowledges that these three men helped to shape her political ideology and although Senator Barack Obama shares the “babyboomer” designation with Senator Clinton his political ideology was certainly NOT shaped by these three men.

The latest round of vitriol inspired by her barely mentioning one of the defining moments of her life – in the lives of millions of babyboomers – is beyond reasonable. If anyone should fear for their life after what has been said it is her, not Senator Obama. I hope she has Secret Service protection that sees these quotes for what they are, the kind of threats they were trained to act upon when doing their jobs.

Senator Hillary Clinton is the kind of leader these men were. They took on the tough, impossible battles to change their world into a better place and so has she. They paid for this better world with their lives. I pray that she will not have to pay the same price to save ours.

  • NCgal

I am actually just sitting here sputtering at the fact that Hillary’s comments are even “a story”. They are SO inocuous, It’s obvious she was calling attention to the fact that RFK was in the middle of a heated primary campaign in June of 68 when he was assassinated. Folks with any historical sense, and common sense, get this immediately.

If the Obama camp truly believes she is toast as they have all indicated, why jump on this story? Why not keep a high road/positive campaign going right now? Why put her back in the headlines?

On the other hand, if a major piece of your agenda is to keep racial tensions at a fever pitch with “threats of assassination”, then this is quite the gift.

      Say it again?

    obama cant win

  • http://paganpower.wordpress.com/ PaganPower

In any rational world these two statements as well as the actual video showing Hillary make the comments would put this to rest. But I suspect it is all we will hear this weekend from the Cultists..

  • mariner

let the cultists keep it going . It only proves that Obama only looks at history through the lenses of hatred just like his rev Wright. Even Obama’s campaign strategy is based on hatred, that is why he needed old uncle in the beginning. Obama had to rile the COLORED PEOPLE to the point that all they could/can think about is voting out of revenge and the desire to have their own black man for prez because of their hatred for Whitey . Example: “Bill was ridin dirty”, exactly the language Obama wanted to hear from the BLACK AGITATER. Eventually they will self destruct when they all began to turn on each other out of hatred. Besides that is the tactic Obama has studied and practiced, straight out of the Saul Alinski play book.
An organizer must “Fan the latent hostilities”, Saul Alinski wrote in his 1964 handbook “Reveille for Radicals,” and “He must search out controversies and issues, rather than avoid them”.

Karl Marx’ communist/socialists tactics. And Obama has learned and practiced those tactics to their fullest. But hatred breeds hatred and it is only a matter of time till they all [the Obama cult]turn on each other.

  • john567

I can’t understand what is going on in this country. We seem to have become a nation of wimpering cowards. To take this statement and spin it into a death threat just because Obama is black, after all the comments wishing for harm to come to the Clinton’s is crazy. Yesterday when Obama was speaking to the Cuban-Americans in Fla he actually said that freedom of the Cuban people was more important than the national sucurity of the USA. I saw this clip several times and couldn’t believe that it seemed to go right over the heads of the TV commentators. Did’nt this strike anyone else as nonsense.

    • mariner

In other words the freedom of the Cuban people is preferred over the freedom of the American people by Obama. And the destruction of American democracy may very well be the goal of this fraud. Obama is a snake in a black man’s skin.

    • EvansvilleK

And people shouldn’t forget his flip-flop on Iran this week. Obama is just about as worthless as they come. (Well, he does know how to read his professionally written speeches and use the teleprompter..)

  • john567

Exactly, why is Hillary’s “gaff” so much more news worthy, and I have seen no one explore his statement even after they showed the clip as an example of his courting the Cuban-American vote.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

I take it from scanning that the Obama media team has turned her remark into an assasination attempt. LOL*

Good grief, it was truly an unfortunate comparison to make, but I thought since KY that Kennedy has been on her mind a lot. She seemed emotional during that speech, and I figured it was due to the news that day. I suspect the Kennedy family is just not to far away from her thoughts right now.

    Much ado about nothing.

  • Mark

Olberman should be fired. It’s not what Hillary said at all. Michelle has made far more blatant reference to this and I wondered at the time why she put that thought out there so blatantly with direct reference to her husband. Hillary said nothing about Obama at all.

In this case if Hillary wanted to mention this race that went to June she had to respectfully mention what happened at that time.if she hadn’t it would have offended and it was a traumatic time for everyone..it was entirely taken out of context and taken to extremes by the media and the Obama campaign. It’s reckless for them to do this and dangerous for BOTH candidates! People are in enough of an uproar without the MSM using this out of context remark for ratings right now. Both candidates are breaking new ground here and this spin put BOTH at risk! To hell with the MSM. This was going to far with the spin. Far too far.

Olberman, stirring this pot in this way and the media spinning it gives every wingnut out there who hates either candidate a kind of fuel for hate. It’s the media gone over the top.

I don’t care who you support I think this type of spin and reporting is disgusting and should be boycotted. It puts BOTH candidates at risk. We’ve sunk to a new low and it’s the media playing fast and loose with out of context remarks with NO thought at all for what they are doing. Your emotions are being manipulated by the MSM, and the campaigns ratcheting their “offensiveness” factor up and over the top. They are not going to be happy until they actually do get their “big” event to report on and they are praying for riots and mayhem to help them sell their washing machines and “products” I’m sick of it. I’ve started writing sponsors. This whole thing has gone over the top. The calling Clinton a “whore” the focusing on every low spun moment to CREATE hatred for their own purposes.

I call b.s. all around on this one and for Olbermans swift removal. He rants like a psychopathic attention seeking narcissist and as long as he gets that attention stirred up who cares what it causes.

There is no such thing as “reporting” it’s about selling products now and its’ gone far enough.

Support your candidate but, turn off this low brow and irresponsible lunatic spinning.

We’re all being played for fools and it’s become completely irresponsible.

    • Michelle

Absolutely – Olberman has completely lost it. He has turned into a tantrum-throwing adolescent boy who has a mother projection on Hillary. When I see him, I can’t help but think what he really needs is a good therapist to work through the issues he has with “feminine authority.”

  • Michelle

This is from a conservative blogger (http://www.neoconstant.com/2008/05/23/barack-obama-media-darling/), but he is absolutely right – Obama has gotten away with more gaffes than any politician I can remember! I think the only way we can help balance out the coverage is to start raising a ruckus over how many of Obama’s gaffes the MSM have ignored. Any ideas on how to spread the word?

    • http://deleted AnninCa

      Turn off your TV.

      • Michelle

My TV hasn’t been on much these days – but let’s face it, my TV is not the issue. That’s why I’m trying to figure out how we can raise some of the issues about Obama and force the MSM to cover them. Because here’s the thing – Obama is winning because he has won the “PR game” and the only way for HRC to get back in this fight is to beat him at it – before the convention.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

The news I watch does cover the issues and does so far more fairly. These shows and personalities are trash TV. That’s all.

They really get far too much attention. Who cares what Keith O. says?

Credibility should be earned, in my book. Once someone is clearly nuts, I simply don’t watch them.

I’ve noticed how many people get upset but still watch them.

My remark was genuine. Just turn off those guys. Find a better news source.

          • http://snunes.blogspot.com Susan Nunes

Nobody SHOULD care about what Olbermann says, but what he said last night was nothing more than hate speech. It was pure filth and had NO place whatsoever on television.

  • EvansvilleK

When is the Messiah going to apologize for his gaffes?

Hillary did nothing wrong by mentioning a relevant historical reference.

What a bunch of assholes and whining paranoid losers. Hell of a way to win over Hillary supporters in November.

  • carmen

So sad to see that there are peple blinded by biases and racism! Sen.Obama’s campaign hasn’t move a finger regarding the impropriety and politically dangerous message lashed by HRC. It is normal people who got a rude awakening about what could happen in American politics which sadly has been covered with the blood of heroes who wanted to change the status quo. That is the problem! It is not Obama, it is not his campaign, it is people like soem of you here who are blinded by hate! God have mercy on America!

    • http://deleted AnninCa

His official campaign response was OK, Carmen. I agree.

The media jumped on it because it was startling. It’s just the timing and the fact that she tapped into a deep-seated fear that people are just crazy enough to try to kill him.

She meant no harm. I’m certain normal listeners know that, too. It was, indeed, “unfortunate.”

      But……that’s news. It’ll blow over.

  • Five Thirty

Comment by carmen | 2008-05-24 10:01:33 ..That is the problem! It is not Obama, it is not his campaign

Carmen, here’s what you are not seeing:
    – Sen Obama’s campaign is dishonest.

The Obama campaign works to stop the votes of Hillary supporters sometimes by tricking them. Doesn’t that bother you?

  • politicsIsdirty

This is another example of twisting an non-controversy to make it a major controversy because it involves Sen Clinton. Compare that with the gaffe of Sen Obama which was never explored and immediately swept under the rug.

People, face it. WHAT THE MEDIA WANTS, THE MEDIA GETS. That is the sorry state of this country.

Only an unwavering repudiation against the likes of Olbermann, Mathews and their biased pundits can we be effective against them. Let us call for total boycott of their show and those who sponsor them.

  • CHANGE

Please take note that RK Jr. did mention that he’s heard Hillary make the same reference before. A classy way of saying, “Babe, don’t whine that you were tired when you said it the second time.”

  • EyesOpen

I’m lost on the logic of why any part of this statement has anything to do with Senator Obama. However, what I really think is going on…
Obama/Dean camp now has this as an excuse to not consider Hillary for VP.
Republican camp piled on because with Hillary on the ticket in any capacity it to too much of a threat.
    Pay closer attention America.

  • hwddawg

I don’t honestly believe that anyone but the Obamabots and talking heads see anymore into this then there really is. Anyone I’ve talked to ( and that includes people that voted for Obama but aren’t on a kool-aid fix ) see this for what it is. I think the back lash that the people at CNN/MSNBC and the like will see, once people with an actual thought process going on, notice how biased they are in perusing this course of attack on Hillary. The comparisons of how Hillary has been talked about and the disrespect she’s been shown even of late, IMO will be noticed more when put up against what the Obamazoids are pushing now.

  • cows4us

Is it just me or did everyone forget Huckabee’s statement? That was a death threat – not to mention he referred directly to Obama. Hillary didn’t even mention Obama! So now everytime we mention a historical figure who’s been assasinated, it’s Obama? Are we to ignore our history altogether? My god – has this country gone mad? Is this what an Obama presidency will do? Divide us even more than Bush – I never thought that was possible until I saw it with my own eyes.

  • http://fakesteveballmer.blogspot.com steveballmer

… to the wack job racist out there?

“You guys aren’t doing your job!”
That’s what I hear Hellary saying!
Maybe that’s just me, …. we will find out at Barak’s wake.

  • Mike B

Why is it that Olbermann can say something like “two walk in a back room and only one walks out” and the Obama supporters think it’s funny? Olbermann had to apologize because of the obvious insinuation of his remarks but there was no outcry about the harm being wished on Sen. Clinton. And why does HuffPost allow such vile, blatant hatred to be posted about Sen. Clinton. Some of that stuff really crosses the line. I think some of the posts there and other blogs are much more threatening than the misinterpretation of Sen. Clinton’s remarks. What an upside down country this is right now.

  • RosesforSparky

I wonder if all the hyperbole about the RFK comment by the Obama camp and the press are to get the SD’s to commit now before any more compromising stories about Senator Obama get out.

  • http://LOSINGWITHBARRY Kendall Johnson

Anything Hillary says they twist and contort into something racially charged. The media and the Obama camp have been smearing the Clintons with false claims of racism. It’s rediculious. The DNC has been high jacked by thugs who disenfrase voters and rig elections. They too are in the tank for I am sick of how the media has smeared the Clintons. Its outragious that Obama is telling these 25 year olds that the Clintons are horrible racist republicans. These young people were too young to remember the good Bill Clinton did during his presidency. Does this country have amnisia?

A year ago the Clintons were the best thing that has happened to the democratic party in 35 years. Now that General Electric and Time Warner are in the tank for Obama because he signed into the 2005 Bush/Chaney energy bill, the Clintons are public enemy number one. General Electric can’t wait to build their nuclear power plants. The media and the DNC are trying to shove Obama down our throat!!!!!Its such a acam that its scary!!!!!
