The Clintons should help Congressional candidates in the election, just not Obama. According to Brazile et al., Obama doesn’t need her or her supporters at all.

Hillary should run in this election as an independent Presidential candidate if there is any possible way she can.

I helped fight one war and if push comes to shove–let’s just hope it doesn’t. But I will always be on the side of Hillary and Bill Clinton and have been since their beginning.

Frankly, I would rather stand and fight for my party back. Get rid of Obama and farrrrr left idiots, one at a time but get rid of them. However, in saying that, if Bill and Hillary Clinton said that is what they wanted to do I would follow them without a second thought.

If Hillary is serious about running as an independent, then she’d need to pick Neb. Senator Chuck Hagel as her VP.

The two of them would take an enormous number of votes from both parties, and if they could get on the ballot of every state – one thing I am certain – they would beat Obama (he’d come in 3rd) and while, she might not win – that is how the Republican Party off’d the Know Nothings in 1856 and then won it in 1860.

Well, it is an idea that has been tried before when people have been disgusted with the choices presented by the two major parties.

The problem is the country is more or less divided into two ideologies due to our society mores.

We fall into republican or democratic party models.

Since we would be a splinter group of ex-democrats we would be splitting the dem vote roughly in half.

With 50% of voters for McCain
and 25% of the voters for Obama
and 25$ of the voters for Clinton

she would not win.

You all know obama cannot win without Clinton’s voters but you fail to see Clinton cannot win without Obama’s voters as well.

This is why Nader was a spolier.

Any pie division into three would leave any new independent party at a disadvantage against a republican. Which is why the libertarian, green, independent etc… in a national election is little more than a foot note.

McCain vs obama is a narrow win for mccain.

McCain vs obama vs Hillary is a huge win for mccain.

call it the “never gonna happen” party.

I plan on voting in the “anybody but obama” party, and that will likely mean for McCain.

Despite the pompous air a convention stirs, there is nothing special about it. You first convention could be in your back yard around the bar-b-que grill, for all it really matters. The party name, however, cannot be previously used. At a minimum, your party leadership should include a committee chairman and a treasurer.
Collecting funds to elect an official to a federal, state, or local position is essential to the success of the party. As such, a bank account must be opened in the party’s name. Be aware that you will be required to file financial documents and disclosures with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) when you reach the benchmarks laid out by the FEC.

This next section comes direct from FEC website and includes two parts, when to register with the FEC and qualifying as a national or state party committee:

Once your party is up and running, you will need to elect permanent leadership and accept a Charter and Bylaws. In essence, the Charter and Bylaws are the constitution of the party. It outlines your party organization, and the relationships between other party organizations (such as state committee’s for your party) and other operations your party may undertake (i.e. Presidential Elections, Senate and House elections, State elections, etc.). Your party’s Charter and Bylaws may also outline the relationships between your national convention and your national committee. Your Charter and Bylaws may also establish who is eligible to run for public office (federal, state, and local), may include the basis on which your party was founded (party platforms, idealologies, philosophies, etc.), and should set out the goals and intents of the party as a whole.

Remember during this process to keep meticulous notes. Every dollar raised and spent MUST be accounted for and reported to the FEC as well as Committee members, Party Leadership, and the general public. You will need to record the minutes of every meeting, the decisions voted for and against, officers elected, fundraising started and stopped, voters registered in the party, voter registration drives, and the list goes on and on.

It goes without saying that at some point your party should retain a lawyer. The services of a good lawyer specializing in Constitutional Law, Election, Campaign and Political law will be invaluable. You might also search out a law firm practicing Local and/or Federal Government Law, Labor and Employment, and Administrative Law. They will need to file legal documents on your party’s behalf at the federal level as well as State and Local levels.

Come on Oblame with billions you can rig an election in your favor, there is the reason he knows how to win without certain ‘minorities’, that minorities will be substituted with ‘a sophisticated software’ and those votes as an act of magic will give him the victory. This is madness. I am speaking as someone based in Ireland who can therefore view matters with the objectivity of distance.
Something similar happened in the eighties to the British Labour Party in the neighbouring jurisdiction. This is/was ideologically similar to the Democratic Party. It was hijacked by extreme left wing elements from the ground upwards, through a process known as ‘entryism’, by an outfit called Militant Tendency led by a charismatic dude called Derek Hatton (the counterpart of Obama). This made it unelectable by the mainstream.
As a reaction its moderate elements split off (similar to what is being suggested here)to form a new centrist party, the SDP. This shone brightly for a while before eventually withering away. Most commentators now believe that its leader, David Owen,
had he stayed, would eventually have made a great Labour Prime Minister (the top job). Hopefully you see what I’m driving at now.
Eventually sober mainstream leaders, Neil Kinnock and then Tony Blair, took over the reins, kicked out the Hattonites, and dragged the LP back to the centre and now they’ve have enjoyed 11 years of unbroken power.
That is my advice. Stay put. Obama seems likely to get the nom but it looks like he’ll be toast in November after which he and his acolytes should be easy meat for those party operatives who have not supped of kool aid. After Nov he will be a spent force and Hill will sweep to power in 2012 on a tidal wave of buyer’s remorse following one term of a McCain presidency.
