Thank you for all you do – Fly – you are the heart and soul of this country. I am sorry the Party deserted you and treated you and others in MI and FL like crap – they are doing the same to all of us too. I hope if Hillary is the nominee you will consider helping to save the country again by continuing to be a poll watcher. We need true Americans to ensure the elections process is not rigged. If it’s Obama – it won’t matter, Repubs will win by a landslide, might as well just stay home and enjoy your evening instead of dealing with such cheaters! THANK YOU!

Yes – I read from the Iowa newspaper that actually Obama made a concerted effort to play ballot games (as he did with Alice Palmer in Chicago) and sought out other candidates (especially Edwards) to get them to remove their names off the Michigan ballot after polls showed he would lose by a landslide – thereby leaving Hillary as the only name, infuriating Iowa voters. MI even gave him extra time and even pleaded with him to keep his name on the ballot and made many offers to him to add his name back, he refused and they then did a full-scale campaign advertising the uncommitted line as being for Obama and Edwards (hence the 40% vote for uncommitted). In FL, he couldn’t play ballot games because they didn’t allow him to remove his name. That’s what I’ve read.

Is this a freaking banana republic or something? KANGAROO COURTS? Ughhhhhh! I hope those protesters get a lot of coverage on Saturday! Do not back off – don’t let them do to us what they did in FL in 2000 or OH in 2004 because the wimps Gore and Kerry refused to fight! GO Hillary – the only true fighter!

Perhaps you weren’t aware of the paper-trail provision, which the Republicans purposely attached to the primary date provision in the same bill.

We in Fl have been wanting the law to require a paper trail for voting machines since the repeated machine malfunctions happened during our 2002 elections (and ever since).

Republican legislators refused to let us have the paper trails.

And they could have kept refusing, because they have a huge majority in our lege (about 77 to 43 in the House and 24 to 16 in the Senate).

Given the numbers, the Rs could have both blocked a paper trail AND moved the primary deadline.

Why do you suppose they chose to tie the two provisions together in the same bill and force the Dems to support the bill by telling them that it was the only way we’d get paper trails?

You see, THIS should be the one and only FOCUS of all the Hillary-supporting blogs.

Not the mamby-pamby bs of a brand new one thousandth “third” party.

I hear this crap about “following the roolz” on tv 24/7 and if we were all focused on drumbeating the truth on line, via email, via fax, via telephone, via letters, could we make a difference?

One would hope so.

They blather on about follwing the “roolz” all the while NOT ONE DETAIL, because the DETAILS would exonerate Hillary. Why aren’t we peppering them all with bullet points on the ACTUAL rules?

I have also heard it said by Media in Fla that the repubs can not in any way win the WH with electoral votes without Florida..The repigs knew Hillary was loved in Fla..by all demographics..and the Dems have registered more people in the past year than the repubs..Fla was in the bag for Hillary..Obama never had a chance..But the repubs knew they had to do something dramatic to take Florida or lose the WH.
The repubs knew tyhe dems had to sign the bill to Ban Dre Voting machines, and mandate Voter Verified paper ballots..it was a death march if they didn’t..that is why the repubs attached the primary date change to that bill.

It was the only ace they had to try to win Fla in the GE..

And Dean and Brazile..were both in the bag for obama..so they used the very bill they should have congradulated Florida for..and they sanctioned us.

But SC broke the exact same rule..with a repub legislature..(and they still vote with Diebold..mind you..and will in the 2008 GE)..but they got a wavier ..after the rule breaking..and basically got a lot of loving from Dean and Brazile..

No problem. That diary on MyDD is completely wrong. Its sad because I’ve seen RBC members with the same bad info. How they get to be RBC members and don’t know that the DNC never asked candidates to remove their names is beyond me. The DNC didn’t even keep them from campaigning much less ask them to remove their names.
