Okay John,

Hate America? C'mon Dude, get real and engage here with some cogent responses and verification of your assumptions. Let's see what you come up with and we'll debate, no?

Or to make this easier for you I can simply climb onto my roof, throw myself off headfirst, heal up for about a week then and only then would I be able to engage on your current level.

No need for the name calling John but we'll see Bumpkin.

I like that analogy, but to expand on it... Should he apologize... (a) because he eats more than a family of four... or (b) because he continues to be excellent at what he does in the face of escalating mediocrity? I think maybe it's the latter and we as a society have come to punish those who stand out at what we do. I don't think for a minute we ought to apologize for being a 200 something year old nation and having bested nations that have thousands of years of seniority on us. I don't think we ought to emulate them to appease them. I think we ought to be able to be proud of what we are... maybe more aptly what we were... Americans. If there is any hope that we might save what we had for our children... then we owe that to them.

Interesting observation.

Of course, when it comes to the Treasury Dept. Geithner is the one who wouldn't have passed vetting -- Turbo Tax, anyone?

This seems to be a pattern.

Michael Phelps eats enough to easily feed a family of four in India, he needed the energy to win 9 gold medals. Should he apologize?

What it's really about is protecting Obama's image over a fully functioning and successful system. How long did it take Geithner to staff the Treasury Dept? Is it even fully staffed yet? It's absurd. They want to avoid any hint of scandal to protect their own reputations/careers vs. getting the damn job(s) done.

I would like more than anything to see Hillary as part of the 90's "Clinton's". Now, I am finding myself doubting seriously whether there is any tangible effective difference between Hillary and Obama. Sure, Hillary is more likable, but so what... if she is going to join in on the apology tour and fall right in line for the bogus carbon exchange then she is just another politician. Now, I find myself wondering if any of the good things Bill did in the 90's... balancing the budget, reforming welfare etc... was any of that really Bill or was it going along to get along with Newt. Because we see Hillary has no problem going along to get along today. I know a lot here really idolize Hillary. I will be up front, I never did idolize the Clinton's. But, I always had mostly good thoughts about their intentions overall. Now, I am not so sure. But that is just my take from an ex republican. Whatever that is worth.

It's a fact, no one was more vetted than Hillary. The vetting (investigations) lasted more than eight years even to the charitable foundation established by her husband.

But the vetting process was not applied to Geithner, Richardson, Daschle and several others Obama had promised goodies in the pay to play.

No, Doc. It wasn't necessary to say anything of the sort. Every word she said was true. The US is the greatest contributor of carbon emissions in the world.

India is a rapidly developing power and if they can learn from our mistakes we will all benefit. I guess interpretation is everything. Out of a long and detailed speech which showed her knowledge and understanding (and sympathetic connection to India), all you came away with was one line to take her to task again.

You are a predictable naysayer where Hillary is concerned and it's tedious. You think she should walk away from her position to satisfy you and you no doubt thought she should have committed political suicide by endorsing John McCain when a large part of his own party didn't support him.

People who care more about this country than their own bias want Hillary to stay exactly where she is and the faux claims of "I love Hillary, but..." or "She should leave for her own good" are nothing more than a mirror reflection of the attacks on her last year.

I wonder, let's say 20 years from now, how the Obama administration is going to be seen? I used to think Geo. W.'s presidency was the worst I had seen in my lifetime but now I think Geo. W. and co. may be "knocked out of the saddle" by Obama and some of his cohorts.

I just hope Hillary doesn't sink with the Obama ship. God only knows we need her wisdom, intellect, and experience in the SOS position. But it seems she is treading on "thin ice" trying to do her job but at the same time having to deal with a president who is not only naive and in-experienced but who seems to want to undermine one of the best people in his cabinet.
