I’m amazed by the lack of judgment in linking himself to this priest at all. It shows an incredible lack of insight into how national politics works. Remember the famous words, “I won’t be swiftboated!”

It’s the same lack of judgment when he said, “My supporters won’t vote for her, but I’m sure I’ll get her supporters.”

Pfleger said “good riddance” to the people who had left the commission. “Leave, go ahead and go on out, we don’t need that kind of a spirit or mentality and a narrowness on that kind of commission. I’m glad they’re gone,” Pfleger said.

What was the issue? A member of the commission, Sister Claudette Marie Muhammad, was the Nation of Islam’s minister of protocol.

[She] “was under the radar until she invited other commissioners to attend a Farrakhan speech last month. Criticism of Muhammad mounted after the speech, which included references to “Hollywood Jews” promoting homosexuality and “other filth.”

The three Jewish commission members who resigned wanted Muhammad to repudiate Farrakhan’s criticism of Jews, gays and other groups. The Jewish Community Relations Council, representing 46 Chicago-area groups, passed a resolution supporting the three commission members.

I guess this is why we don’t see Alegre and Texas Darlin’ recommended diaries anymore, and the few pro Clinton diaries are unrecommended and mutilated with Obama troll posts.

There is something REALLY wrong with a church that has to hire a consultant to manage its image.

It’s one thing for the guest pastor to issue an apology after he was caught in his hate-filled rant. What is most telling, however, is the fact that no one in the congregation appeared to be shocked or offended – they were all fully immersed in the frenzy. That’s where the real problem is. They should have all gotten up and walked out in protest. An un-biased compassionate human would not have been able to be a part of that.

That church doesn’t have an image problem; it has a genuine problem.

Healing the wounds of Democrats’ sexism

LAST YEAR at the beginning of the presidential primary season, Democrats were giddy with excitement. Not only did we have an embarrassment of riches in our candidates but we had two historic candidacies to enjoy. Once and for all our country would show that racism and sexism were not part of our 21st-century DNA.

Here we are at the end of the primary season, and the effects of racism and sexism on the campaign have resulted in a split within the Democratic Party that will not be easy to heal before election day. Perhaps it’s because neither the Barack Obama campaign nor the media seem to understand what is at the heart of the anger on the part of women who feel that Hillary Clinton was treated unfairly because she is a woman or what is fueling the concern of Reagan Democrats for whom sexism isn’t an issue, but reverse racism is.

The reaction to the questions being raised has been not to listen to the message and try to find out how to deal with the problem, but rather to denigrate the messenger. Sore loser, petty, silly, vengeful are words that have dominated the headlines. But scolding and name calling don’t resolve disputes. The truth is that tens of thousands of women have watched how Clinton has been treated and are not happy. We feel that if society can allow sexism to impact a woman’s candidacy to deny her the presidency, it sends a direct signal that sexism is OK in all of society.

In response, a group of women – from corporate executives to academics to members of the media – have requested that the Shorenstein Center at Harvard University and others conduct a study, which we will pay for if necessary, to determine three things.

First, whether either the Clinton or Obama campaign engaged in sexism and racism; second, whether the media treated Clinton fairly or unfairly; and third whether certain members of the media crossed an ethical line when they changed the definition of journalist from reporter and commentator to strategist and promoter of a candidate. And if they did to suggest ethical guidelines which the industry might adopt.

That sexism impacted Clinton’s campaign, I have no doubt. Did she lose a close election because of sexism? I don’t know. But I do know that it will never happen again as long as women are willing to stand up and make sure that it is just a one-time bad experience.

As for Reagan Democrats, how Clinton was treated is not their issue. They are more concerned with how they have been treated. Since March, when I was accused of being racist for a statement I made about the influence of blacks on Obama’s historic campaign, people have been stopping me to express a common sentiment: If you’re white you can’t open your mouth without being accused of being racist. They see Obama’s playing the race card throughout the campaign and no one calling him for it as frightening. They’re not upset with Obama because he’s black; they’re upset because they don’t expect to be treated fairly because they’re white. It’s not racism that is driving them, it’s racial resentment. And that is enforced because they don’t believe he understands them and their problems. That when he said in South Carolina after his victory “Our Time Has Come” they believe he is telling them that their time has passed.

Whom he chooses for his vice president makes no difference to them. That he is pro-choice means little. Learning more about his bio doesn’t do it. They don’t identify with someone who has gone to Columbia and Harvard Law School and is married to a Princeton-Harvard Law graduate. His experience with an educated single mother and being raised by middle class grandparents is not something they can empathize with. They may lack a formal higher education, but they’re not stupid. What they’re waiting for is assurance that an Obama administration won’t leave them behind.

Hope, change, and inspiration don’t do it. A speech on racism might persuade editorial boards, but to these voters it’s “just words.” Obama has less than six months to make the case.

I believe Sinclair is telling the truth on this..There was a whisper here in Chicago back in 2000, about Obama’s supposed Bisexuality. Although I believe sinclair, I am a realist and I don’t think it will go anywhere unless Sinclair has Iron Clad proof..DNA? Yeah it does tell you something. This man has always hated his “white” bloodline. It didnt matter that it was his “White” grandparents that took care of him while Mama was running around the world looking for love. What is sad is that he has thrown away the chance this country actually had to unite. Guess that “White” blood was too much for him to handle.

My Kids are White/Apache/mexican American and I can tell you this…..THEY ARE PROUD OF THEIR HERITAGE! This man is a disgrace to the human race period!

Pfleger, known locally as a community activist and organizer, was arrested in June 2007 with the Rev. Jesse Jackson during a protest outside of a south suburban Chicago gun shop. The criminal trespass charges were later dropped.

He also has hosted Louis Farrakhan, the controversial leader of the Nation of Islam, at St. Sabina and has called him “a gift from God to a sick, sick world.”

You know, if Axelrod is on this priest’s fundraising team, then there’s no way he gave this sermon without permission from the Obama camp. Notice that he quit the advisory committee a couple weeks ago in the lead up to this. Could it be that either, they’re trying to keep Clinton from deciding to run as an independent (on the off chance there will be defections among superdelegates), or they’re trying to deflect attention from something else? (One other possibility is that they did this to denigrate Clinton in the eyes of Puerto Rican voters, who see a Catholic priest on TV publicly repudiating her and think maybe they shouldn’t support here.)

What is particularly AMAZING in the coverage (bordering on conspiracy, in my view) is the utter embargo on reporting of Obama’s well-documented links to two Iraqi foreign agents, including Saddam’s ex-money-man (according the the Pentagon) AND the former Minister of Electricity in Iraq (now living in Illinois) who’s wanted by Interpol for stealing $650 million in reconstruction funds. How an earth could Obama pass a basic security clearance for employment in federal government when he’s apparently benefitted financially from both of these fellows and has a paper trail with them as wide as the Panama Canal?

I honestly thing this pastor stuff is a deliberate distraction. And instead of protesting DNC meetings we should all be standing outside the office of the Dept. of Homeland Security demanding that Chertoff open an investigation into Obama’s ties to these two characters. NBC and CNN and all the rest can hardly avoid covering up the facts once that happens.
