A Note of Thanks [Update]

The growth here at NoQuarter has been off the hook. We have had almost 450,000 individual readers and over 1.2 million page views this month alone. As a result we got a bigger server and had to hire some help with Word Press. We deeply appreciate those who, own their own initiative, took time to send us money to help support this effort. I have been funding this out of my own pocket and we’re starting to get a trickle of ad revenue. We intend to remain an independent voice commenting on this election and what it means for our country. Thanks for your support.

UPDATE: I did not realize so many were still on a dial up system. We will certainly strive to get transcripts up. Anything else you think we are missing don’t hesitate to drop a line. I may be slow but I’ll ultimately answer you.

I will take some credit for promoting your blog posts at pro obama blogs that have heavy traffic. Sometimes I can’t resist linking to an article or copying portions of it on their site and linking to it.

Whenever I post some of your information with a link to NoQuarter on Political Wire I get tons of hate responses. I never read them anymore.. but their responses show up in my inbox- ONE DAY I HAD 80 HATE RESPONSES LOL!

Other place that is full of real nutjobs, half Obamabots and half Republican devotees is Craigslist Political Forum which is the busiest 24/7 forum I’ve ever seen and fun to hang out in cuz always plenty of chatters in there.. (Sometimes it’s tame and fun lol).

So I for one am spreading the word… your word!

P.S. By the way this extra traffic must be slowing your site.. it’s harder than hell to get on here lately or to turn pages.. Hope you can take actions to fix this soon.. I’m on a cable connection and I often have to click to a blog post there and then simply reduce my browser and let it take it’s time opening the page!

I did have dish TV but the major media networks were so one sided I got pissed one day and pulled the damned dish off it’s stand and ran over it with a tractor. Now I am stuck with dial-up. Came across your sanity saving website about a month ago and I always go to your website at least 5 times a day just to get my sanity back after a day of Lord Barry crap….god do I dislike that man!

I am a Obama supporter but I would like to ask a couple of questions, Maybe they have been covered before but I just recently found this site. First, I should make it clear that I think it would be fine if this goes to the convention floor. I do not think Obama has won yet. I think he will win and I hope he does but it is still close.

My first question is this, Obviously most of you feel that Clinton has been treated unfairly and some you think she has been or will be flat out robbed. I have read over and over again comments such as “it is either Hillary or McCain.” Would it be fair for Obama supporters to express those same sentiments? Could Hillary really beat McCain if say 30% of the black vote were to abandon the Dems and vote Rethug? or if they decide to stay home?

Second, I have read talk left for a while now and they always talk about a unity ticket. Assuming Hillary wins.

After doing that perhaps the commentary you read from NQ readers will make more sense. These are serious ethical problems with Obama, his campaign and his associates….NQ readers are a diverse cross section…Some Lifers in the Democratic Party…Some Independents…Some Moderate Republicans…

I would be fine with him as VP. I think he’s got a lot of learning to do, but he’s smart. I think he needs, obviously, some real time and distance away from this Trinity Church gang. I think he needs to actually have some grasp of foreign policy issues and spend time doing his homework.

VP is a good spot for that. I would prefer NOT to see Hillary in the VP spot. First, I think it’s completely demeaning. She’s by far the better-prepared candidate. Second, I don’t want to have to vote for Obama, and I probabaly would if she were on the ticket. Third, I don’t think 4 years of watching the media bash her is useful.

At this point, I’d rather see McCain win and keep the place marker for 4 years. Then I’d like to see her run again. She’ll only be 64, and her momentum is terrific. It took awhile, but people finally began to see past Obama’s negative rhetoric about her and see the real candidate. And she’s absolutely terrific.

So we’d be tapping our foot waiting on the next time. As VP, she’d simply be abused more. Screw that.

As for who you wish to say you’re voting for? That’s entirely your call. Every American should vote their conscience.

It felt weird after 30 years to realize that I’m not supporting the Democratic Party unless Hillary is the nominee. But I have, indeed, transcended.

It’s actually a relief to join the millions who are going to exit the Democratic Party this year.

I’ve felt absolutely embarassed to see how the working class was treated and to watch the sexism and absolute blatant political moves on the part of our Party leaders. Kennedy calling this green guy the next JFK was just the start of the asinine remarks made this year.

No wonder congress has even lower approval ratings than Bush. They deserve it.

On the media coverage I agree. Just from a historical perspective I would love to see a contested convetion. I am 36 and don’t remeber the Carter Kennedy convention. I think some of the comments and articles about Obama have been unfair but I am biased. I respect your passion for Hillary and I was just looking for Clinton supporters perspectives on the questions that I posed. I hope that isn’t being a troll.

If all Obama supporters online were as polite and well-spoken as you are, we wouldn’t likely be at this pass. Even with the horribly sexist/misogynistic media — I don’t think we’d be at this pass.

The problem I have now as a Clinton supporter is this: how can I possibly support a party that I believe has ignored the will of the voters? That I believe has ignored the problems at most of the caucus states (I am well aware that initially, Hillary Clinton won at least two caucuses — New Mexico and Nevada, although both look a lot less like “wins” now) — that has ignored multiple complaints in the thousands in Texas, for example, including some made by policemen.

I just cannot support that.

But if the DNC gets out of the way and allows this to go to the convention, as it ought, I will stay with the Democratic Party.

Otherwise, it’s Independence Day. (Pun intended.)

As for Obama, I simply feel he’s too inexperienced to be President at this time. I am afraid he has run too early, and that he truly doesn’t understand that most Clinton voters have voted based on experience, not race, or anything other than our view as to who would make the best President right now, considering the horrible state our country is in. (Btw, I will never vote for McCain, but I can’t vote for Obama, either. Right now, if those are my two choices, I’m staying home. Which is very sad.)

Obama holds his current lead in Delegates not from actual votes but from Caucuses. Now I know some will say these are the rules. But what I say is, would you let a high school kid make a decision for your family in your place? I didnt think so.
But, he won those caucuses, regardless how he did it.

lets move on to his camps use of the race card. Some say he didnt do this…there is proof his camp did! There are memos from his people that are giddy at the prospect of employing this as a tactic. Those of his camp tarred and smeared a beloved Democratic President as a Racist to get the AA vote. It worked for them so they continues to paint Hillary and anyone that supported her a a racist!
Those are just some of the tactics this “New Politics” has employed…

Click on “menu” lower right of the video, then click on “copy to clipboard” for the video’s URL. Then paste it into one of the tools at web pages above. It will give you a link on which you can right click to download and save the video.

It can take ages, but it was the only way I could see videos when I was on dial up. Go about other things as it downloads… just not too many other things.

They are flash video files (.flv) and you must so name them before you can view them.

Simple small .flv player you can download fast and don’t even have to install (just put it somewhere like on your desktop.Wimpy FLV Player

Hope this helps. I had only dial up for years and ended up with quite a collection of videos with tools not as good as these.

But you should also open a paypal account for your own use! It’s a very secure site that you setup to have explicit use of your bank account.. If you buy something online and don’t feel comfortable giving ur cc info , many sites now accept paypal so you can pay thru them and keep your personal info, private.

I’ve used paypal for years for a variety of bills to pay (along with this site where you can pay all your utilites for your home), and have used paypal to make purchases on ebay and a variety of other places.. Very secure site as is mycheckfree.com which I linked to!

This election has been unbearable on so many levels.

The same media who gave us Bush through their endless Gore bashing is now at it again. The American voters are being fed lies and juvenile insults by the likes of Dowd, Matthews, Mitchell, et al. I guess they had so much fun the first time around in swaying the election they said hey, lets do it again! I personally think they are afraid to have a President who is by far more intelligent and capable then they will ever be. It is like a recurring nightmare.

Larry and Susan, the moment I learned of your blog, I was hooked. It is a haven. I can not stomached how anti-hillary posts are written in other blogs, and it always unmake my day! I am a 100% Hillary fan. How I admire and love her! A gem, really. Even if they smear dirt on her, she still shines!

I really can not see what they see in BO. I sense there are many strings attached to him. Without these strings, he will not be able to stand up. And I can not see why DNC would be cash-strapped since BO’s supporters should support them also. If they are still cash-strapped, then they should wake up. The dots are there to be connected. They should by now know their regular and committed grass-roots Democrats.

I want to thank SusanUnPc for being an example of guts and perseverance. I will always shake my head and think “How does she do it?” ( I hope your healing well.)

Lastly, and arguably equally important, I want to thank all the people who contribute articals and research to NQ. I have enjoyed learning a great deal from all the interesting people posting here, who add color to my thoughts and expand my horizons.

Now that I’ve donated, I want to give a special thanks for your commitment to try to provide transcripts whenever possible. Actually, a link to a transcript might be easier than copying an entire transcript.

But please, let me just say that it’s not just dial-up people that need transcripts. Hearing impaired people need the transcripts as well.

As a hearing impaired person, I don’t always need a transcript. Just a summary of what happened with the most crucial quotes will be helpful.

Some consider it Hill bias here, but it is a two way highway here, problem is no Obama supporter has been able to provide anything viable for their candidate, which is a shame, as constuctive investigating is what makes America what it is and not empty rhetoric!

Could someone tell me when this website went up??? I feel I missed a whole lot during the earlier part of this primary season. Everything seemed to be ALL-OBAMA love fests all the time even on Huntington Post and DailyKos (former favorite websites of my own).

I just found out about this website during the West Virginia exit poll blog on rightpundits.com. A helpful Hillary supporter on that blog mentioned this blog to me.

This campaign has been emotionally grueling for me. Half of my family supports Obama, and we can’t even talk. The very scarce amount of left-wing talk radio that has kept me sane over the last 8 years has now left me turning to (the bile is coming up in my throat over this) Rush. CNN and MSNBC are now banned from my remote, and (more bile) Fox News has become my haven. I never watched it before the past 3 months, and I sure don’t see it becoming a habit. But at least I hear ideas about Obama that jive with my own.

Needless to say, finding your site has saved me! No more Rush, no more Fox News.

And I am convinced that Hillary’s going to pull this one through. Nothing else makes sense. Last night I dreampt all night that I was in on starting a new party, and we were calling it the Progressive Party, headed by the Clintons and joined by her Superdelegate supporters. I hope it doesn’t come down to that, but I’d support it over an Obama Presidency.
