Americans Are Rapists?

We posted this late last night but it merits more attention. Here is Obama supporter and spiritual advisor of twenty years Father Pfleger accusing Americans of raping “people of color.” For starters, I never realized that people of color are not American. In Pfleger world, America is white and guilty. This is unbelievable.

So when it comes to Barack, Pfleger’s logic is that America is going to pay the price. What is so sad about Barack’s campaign is that he and many of his followers are deliberately inciting a racial divide. Racism is insidious. Hatred of anyone because of the color of their skin is wrong and immoral. Our opposition to Barack has nothing to do with the color of his skin. Our opposition is about his willingness to associate with people who are racists and hatemongers. We are outraged at his toleration of misogyny within his campaign. We despise his hypocrisy in decrying lobbyists while surrounding himself with same. But none of this is about his color. It is all about his character.

  • one southern girl

An Obama supporter was on Fox earlier defending the “rapist” comments. Amazing.

    • workingclass artist

Hmmmm….I’m a CRACKER FEMALE FROM THE SOUTH….How’d I go about Rapin and Pillagin….Pfleger is CERTIFIABLE….Someone needs to check his bank account….I’ll bet some of that earmark money Obama gave him for the youth center ended up in his retirement fund…PFLEGER SHOULD BE DEFROCKED AND EXCOMMUNICATED AND HIS IMMORTAL SOUL BURN…

      • Lou

If he is a catholic priest, someone needs to send these video’s to the vatican. He needs to be removed. Damned closet case angerous idiot.

        • Retired

The Vatican knows, they have an excellent intel sevice, and this is all over the news. Priest, however, are traditionally allowed broad latitude in their sermons and even their quasi political activity. Outright campaigning, at least in the US, is where the church seems to draw the line.

          • grtphoto

I am curious as to why he is “preaching” in this church in the first place?

          • ginaswo

yes but not liberation theology, the Pope will have something to say to the diocese about that one, he has fought it for 40 yrs

      • Arius

        ahhhhhh ! YOU SAID CRACKER!

    • Dawnelle

OMG THIS GUY LOOKS/SOUNDS like HITLER!!!!!

      • Lou

He’s Obama advisor to go to the whitehouse..

        ONG

    • Peggy Sue

Yes, defendng the indefensible, then adding that her great-great grandfather was white.

But wait, we need to take the gigantic leap that therefore all whites have raped the black community.

      And this logic flies?

I’m really beginning to feel I’ve entered an different dimension recently. When the outrageous/offensve is defended, every uttered spew needs to be contectualized, when we’re told not to believe our ears/eyes, we have entered a realm that I do not recognize and will not accept.

I’m not ready to vote in the “New Party,” the Orwellian candidate, whose supporters believe we’re on the brink of being saved.

I’ll decide on my own Messiah, thank you very much. Barack Obama is not the “One.” He’s not even the second of third!

      • http://deleted AnninCa

I’d be a lot more impressed if this social conscience applied to the real women and children who are being raped today. Regardless of color, the violence against women and children is as bad today as ever.

Sexism is as serious as racism, for it serves to set the stage for this type of violence.

        • AnyoneButObama

Exactly. To use the word rape in that way is so offensive. Women know what rape is. . .

    • Ellen Tenn

I saw this too. Her point was that her great- great grandfather was white and raped a slave. I understand that that must be a painful part of her past but to say that we are still raping people of color highly offends me.

      • AnyoneButObama

Right. The point is, men rape women. I agree it is immensely offensive to say Americans are raping people of color, it’s just plain wrong.

        • PITA

That’s black liberation theology, the gospel of race baiting, basting in self pity and blaming everyone else for you problems rather than finding solutions.
And remember, Barack Obama is their Messiah. It doesn’t have to be rational, it’s their religion. This priest is on theological thin ice.

    • tootsky

If this is really about character, LJ, then why not stop referring to white america and telling your supporters to stop talking about – I quote “white power”.

You have intelligently reported what you refer to as threats. Why not remove the racism as well? More Adolph Reed, less Geraldine Ferraro. Look at what the Black Agenda Report has to say about Obama, look at Ken Silverstien’s cover story in Harpers last year.

As I say, there are plenty of cogent ciriticisms that can be made of Barack Obama and to keep everything on the level as now you seem to be doing is fine. But encouraging divisiveness, fear and promoting the neocon line on the middle east is unacceptable.

Hopefulyl this blog will go back to good foreign policy analysis after your candidate loses.

In case you haven’t noticed, nobody here gives a rat’s ass what is “acceptable” to you.

        • miriam

For many, if not most of us, it’s the “cogent criticisms” of Obama that carry the most weight. The objections that he is an inexperienced, ethically-challenged, non-decisive dilettante have nothing whatsoever to do with race. They have everything to do with his character and his arrogance in seeking the presidency before he has served even a full term as a senator.

        • TeakWoodKite

Let me know Uppity when you are going to Publish the book of “A collection of Obama Supporters Quotes.”

I will by a copy make a donation to a mental health facility of your choice.

      • PITA

        tootsky,
Obama’s circle of friends, supporters and surrogates, people who speak on his behalf are unfortunately divisive race baiters. Let’s look at his sexist behavior and remarks too. If this is the HOPE that he’s trying to sell, he can keep it. This man is not ready to be President. His record is too thin and threadbare.
We will be sure to see that he’s not elected.

      • ritamary

tootsky: Where in this blog has anyone said anything about white power? YOU are the first person to use the phrase white power on this blog.

You recommend Adolph Reed. He referred to your hero as a vacuous opportunist on this very blog. You want more of that?

        • tootsky

The phrase was used in a previous thread, explicitly. There have been numerous displays of racist language.

Do I accuse you or the Clintons or anyone of racism? No. But you are insensitive – and especially insensitive in that you feel that people are insensitive in asking you to be sensitive.

You can argue til the cows come home who made the race about “race”…don’t blame me I’m a socialist and I supported Kucinich…but the kind of language you use is an offense to human dignity, I realize that its not about race, but if you can empathize with people who may see it in that fashion, then you’ll be a bigger human being than one who scoffs at “Obamatons”. Have your policy differences, feel free to shout them to the world. But don’t smear shit and be undignified and downright improper to any real political pratice…an offense that I count as my own and that of many many people, perhaps in a similar fashion to your perspective on the radical preachers (and you don’t mention Hillary’s cultish prayer breakfasts?). I realize that you are truly offended by all of these radical preachers, and I’m not gonna argue with your views, except to state that I personally think that if one were to judge most potential politicians by the company they kept, then very few decent heads of state would be elected. Rezko is sleazey, perhaps. Can you imagine the Kennedy election in the days of bloggers obsessive about associations “he knwos Sam Giancanna…he does speed … .his dad was a nazi!” Not that I like Kennedy, he was a thug wrongly lionized by sentimental liberals – but the point is that I feel bad, sincerely I do, for people who are excited about something and then their bubble is about to burst. I am sorry if any of my admitted trolling offended you. But think about what you’re doing and saying.

Grow up. You don’t want John McCain to continue the class war against working Americans.

      OPEN LETTER TO REPUBLICANS

Dear Republicans (especially those loyal to John McCain),

I wrote you one open letter asking you to act in the best interests of our country.

This letter is to encourage you to act in your own enlightened self interest.

Release the tape of Michelle’s “whitey” rant.

Not to long ago, Mr. Obama went on television to
warn people not to “mess with” his wife.

Most non-foolish people had a good laugh both at Mr. Obama’s attempts at “macho” and at the incredible hypocrisy he displayed in pretending once again he is of great noble character while doing everything in his power to destroy those in opposition to his own political ambition.

But having given some consideration to Mr. Obama’s strange display of spousal protectiveness, I think something else has become clear.

That warning was not the latent development of chivalry on Mr. Obama’s part.

It was a threat to Mrs. McCain. I believe you were put on notice that if you released the tape of Michelle, then Mrs. McCain was going to be the
target of the Obama campaign’s patented brand of
      vicious attack.

Do not play into the Obama campaign’s tactics. Release the tape of Michelle now. I know you would all enjoy seeing Nancy Pelosi’s face as the tape makes the rounds of the six o’clock news.

Do not give the Obama camp the window it needs to begin destroying the reputation, not only of Senator McCain, but of Mrs. McCain.

It will be the Obama campaign’s strategy to attempt to destroy the lives of the McCains. You certainly have had plenty of time to see their strategy in action. This is all they have– as Obama has neither experience nor the judgment he so poundingly insists he has. They must go after the character of your candidate and his wife. And I believe they are targeting her.

      Do not let this happen.

Release the tapes if you care for Senator and Mrs. McCain.

      Thank you,
      A Fellow Concerned American

      • troll free zone

If anyone reading this letter has the ability to get it to McCain’s camp, it would be a good idea.

      • ginaswo

excellent point and thank you for saying it

we all know about Cindy’s issues but she has adopted children and gone to see Mthr Teresa, what has Michelle done? I know she explains to the media in Chicago and to poor people why they cant be covered and treated, she does that very well, and she tells us health insurance is not the real issue, it is how we treat each other (or in the case of her hospital ow we DONT TREAT each other)

      • mimi

Yes, i’t's clear to me that Obama has something up his sleeve for McCain. It’s why he’s been so impatient for Hillary to drop out. I tend to believe that everyone is having a little bit too much confidence in the Swiftboating of Obama. His campaign has organized strategy and plans for the GE. I think it includes hacking Diebold machines, dead people voting, and working hard to fulfill Donna Brazile’s directive: “Message to base: stay home.”

I’m also getting concerned that the Republicans wouldn’t mind McCain losing so that they can use these 4 years to re-organize, shake off the Bush shadow, and come back in 2012 victorious with an attractive hard-lined Conservative. I see it as the 2 extreme wings of each Party in a battle to start a Civil War.

I hope someone in the Republican Party realizes that they may be flirting with serious danger. Barack Obama and his cartel should not be underestimated and played with.

      • 85YOTA

The GOP has to wait till closer to November to let loose the heavy artillery, otherwise the effectiveness of the bombs will dissipate with the passage of time. While I am loathe to be patient, we need only look to how relatively quickly memories fade and ugly truths get dumbed down, when voters are subjected to the cleansing bombardment of pro-Obama pundit con artists. The Obama campaign must not be allowed the time to wipe him down and prop him back on his pedestal, before the vote.

    • http://www.myspace.com/helenrose44 Pittsburgh4Hillary08

What could he have said to possibly defend those remarks “yes America has been raping black women for hundreds of years.” Good Lord

  • Sugapea

We need to be sharing these Pfleger videos with the Obama peeps. I posted one on Americanblog and they promptly removed it…out of sight…out of mind.

The Pubs are going to make a big deal of these videos…and we know that such extreme talk will scare voters away from voting for him!

The only answer…Give Obama the VP slot and let him prove himself to the American people.

    • DixieChkn

Sorry, but I can’t even stomach a VP slot anymore. Daily, we who care to know, are educated about this man. Hillary needs a good, honest, decent person (like Wes Clark or maybe Stephanie Tubb-Jones or another AA) to actually give the American people what we have been craving (and FOX has only recently been able to provide) – fairness and balance.

      • Dawnelle

        YES WES!!!

2 women on the same ticket sounds GRAND to me but I’m afraid NOT many men would go for it. Even IF both women were past PMS age! :-/

      • Lou

Thinking of Rep Stephanie…and all the other real quality and etchical talent Hill can bring into the whitehouse..a shame if they bamboozle her out of this.

    • beebop

I have to tell you in all honesty, I would fear for Hillary and Bill’s lives if she were POTUS and he was her VP. He has some crazy people who would LOVE to see him move up.

      • mahaska

I had the same thought. She would be in grave physical danger.

    • 85YOTA

Obama’s not fit to be a city mayor, let alone a VP. He is corrupt and chooses people with racist and hateful views to congregate and hangout with. His private choices do not jive with his espoused public views. His political career needs to go down hard, and never resurrect.

  • DixieChkn

What?!? HOW DO YOU DEFEND THAT?! If you know what show it was, I’d like to know so I can try to find the transcript. Thanks.

    • Andy

This what at Trinity Church; he was a guest of Ottis Moss (the new Reverend there last Sunday)

      • Shainzona

Anyone have a date on this video? I heard BO defenders today saying it was just a mistake by the new minister to invite Pfleger as a guest…this one time.

I remember seeing a number of prior videos – he was a regular in Trinity Church AND in other venues. His “sermons” are just as bad/if not worse than Wright’s.

Also, don’t buy the bull that Pfleger apologized – he said he was sorry to BO and “anyone else who was offended from last Sunday’s sermon”…but he never addressed the person who he attacked…HRC.

Also, look at the intro and thank you from the new minister at Trinity on yesterday’s video – “our old friend”, etc.

        • Dan

Farrakan, Wright (Moss) and Pfleger are peas is a very odd Theological pod–they say identical things in an identical style–but are nominally representatives of three different religions. They are the lousyest representives of multiculturalism imaginable. The pod is found in the south side of Chicago.

          Obama is their Blossom.

Where this goes can only be guessed at. It’s ripe for GOP adverts. And the press have only scratched the surface in my opinion.

        • beebop

“The new minister’s” father has appeared at Pfleger’s church for MLK day earlier this year … that dog don’t hunt. And the profuse thanks at the end? Never stopped any of it? Come on … what do they have in their pipes? It sure ain’t peace.

  • John

Yes, I fully expect Air America, etc. to take the nutcase minister’s side, just like they did for Wright- “wasn’t he basically correct? I dont disagree with much of what he said….we need to look within ourselves..blah blah blah…..”

This is why elitist dipshits dont win elections. They love people who trash America and try to stoke white guilt. That way the elitists get to point at their black friends and say “Well I’M not like that, but I’m morally superior! Tsk! Tsk!”

They never get that most Americans dont feel guilty about stuff they DIDNT DO and will reject people who tell them that they should.

    • beebop

Yeah, I hear they are opening a branch in SFO and Nancy Pelosi is going to scurry right down there and join herself up!

  • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

Sorry. The color of my skin does not make me a rapist.

This white guilt trip is getting old, real fast.

Every black person I’ve ever known also harbored racist thoughts towards Latinos, Asians, and white people.

What is it about having white skin that makes us more racist than those with black skin? NOTHING!

Obama’s campaign has accomplished nothing but make us all feel more separate than ever before.

    • NoToDisenfranchisement

I remember helping to organize caucuses where the constituents were overwhelming African American. Myself being Asian, I was subjected to laughter about whether I was Korean, or what ethnicity I was, and frankly, it was uncomfortable and wrong and racist, their comments. Black skin does not equal immunity from being a racist.

      • Lou

I remember your post about that. Ignoramouses.
        They are jealous of Asians.

      • Dan

I’ve alsways gotten on fine with anyone, (although i’m not Korean). I’ve tended to find that blacks are not particularly bigoted or racist–less so than many other groups.

I hope that Chicago’s den of racist churches is a complete aberation.

    • workingclass artist

Susan I agree with you and now for my lil’ rant directed at this issue which i like a scab folks pick over and won’t heal….Oh for Cryin out loud…It’s WORSE THAN THAT…THERE IS RACISM WITHIN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY…THE DIRTY LITTLE SECRET…
IT IS AN OLD CULTURAL TRADITION BUT FAIR SKINNED BLACKS ARE FAVORED OVER DARKER BLACKS….I have seen it….A kid at my daughters school rote an excellent play about it….Until the AA community deals with it this shit will not get better….RACISM AIN’T JUST NO CRACKER HOBBY !

      • Lou

Ain’t that the truth. Lighter AA skin is better than darker skin to them???

The darker skin looks better to me. It has better hues. What a crock.

        • workingclass artist

Hmmmm….Tis common knowledge in the South….especially the deep south and Yankees don’t like it discussed…messes up the image…
          Know What I’m sayin’….sheeeesh !

        • Clara Barton

During a discussion in my office, a very light skinned AA woman told us about the “paper bag test” when deciding who to date. If your skin is darker than a paper bag, you’re less desirable. I’d certainly never heard this, but every black person in the office knew about it.

      • Jason

Just shows that nobody is perfect… i everybody hold some type of prejudice, you just have to be conscious of it. Do you guys actually feel that Obama is racist?

      • Jason

Do you guys actually feel that Obama is racist?

    • beebop

Leave it to a quote sexless unquote male to have no freaking idea of how disgusting it is to hear that word thrown around like it has no historical meaning. I just want to take his collar, fold it in two and shove it between his pasty little lips! What a jerk!

    • Jason

Every black person I’ve ever known also harbored racist thoughts towards Latinos, Asians, and white people.

Really? You can read the mind of every black person you’ve ever known. That is awesome.

Also, go watch the video again, he’s not accusing you of being a rapist.

He’s making an analogy that blacks shouldn’t just “get over” their historical mistreatment any more than a woman who has been raped should just “get over” her rape.

      • http://deleted TheViking

When this hypothetical white women was raped (as you mention), is DEAD, and the Rapist is DEAD.

Do we still go after his KIDS and crucify them for Rape too? The Rapist’s uncle? Aunt?

What about murders? Do sons of murders also have to do time?

Your argument is almost as lame as this “Priest’s” video…

Oh, btw, the Great Land of the USA was built on the back of ALOT of other races than Blacks.

        Do you want a list?

  • Kudzu

My dear old granny always said, “you can tell a man by the company he keeps”, Obama keeps some mangy company. She also said, “if you lay down with dogs you will get up with fleas”. Mr Obama you had better call a pest man, your flea bitten butt is begining to shine.

    • http://lkcampbell.blogspot.com Lucinda

      Amen!

  • Kevin

The sad thing is that this is a standard afrocentrist/reparation method of attack and justification. Slaveowners raped female slaves…., AAs are incapable of racism as you need to be the power to be racist.

    • John

You need power to practice discrimination. You don’t need any power to be a racist.

      • workingclass artist

Tribalism is what it is…Obama and his campaign supporters and Pfleger was part of his campaign seek to devide and conquer….Playing up tribalism is a cmmon tactic…

      • Kevin

Not what my political economy prof spoke of. I just thought he was high then. I’m just trying to relate the perspective. I agree with you but the Wrights/Pflegers/Obamas of the world have that warped perspective.

        • workingclass artist

          It’s a Yankee AA perspective…imho
You don’t hear this as much in the South….You hear it everywhere up north….I’m just sayin’

  • http://deleted AnninCa

It is, indeed, about his judgment. He has no experience. He relied upon his judgment. And this is the type of trash-talking people he chose.

He chose these men to be around.

There is simply no way to cover up his sensibilities. His flicking the dust off of his shoulders after HE performed poorly at the debate can now be viewed in proper context.

I’m pretty convinced after hearing his endorsers speak this year that he appeals, in part, because he’s so obviously immature and simplistic. It’s a relief to some of them not to think anymore. They can just feign indignation over some ridiculous interpretation of a slight and call it a day. It’s certainly easier than trying to explain the inexplicable.

How do you defend someone who stated repeatedly that he was “better” than Hillary because he wouldn’t demand preconditions be met and then now says he was just “kidding.” What else did he not think out well? What else did he just BS about along the way.

Most of us here know what else, and the list is long.

What I cannot yet fathom is how he thought that these men and their outrageous rhetoric would NOT come to light and, therefore, render him inelectable. He has now roped in so many politicians. They are now stuck admitting to their voters that they supported him. They will not find their own reelections at risk.

This is yet another example of Obama’s irresponsibility. He played this as though it were a game.

Except……it isn’t. And a lot of people are going to be ruined.

    • jwrjr

Considering the company that he keeps, “judgement” is something that Obama has none of.

    • JSF

But it’s not just about the preachers and priests: the entire congregation was on their feet applauding this line of thought. This is not some aberration of a itinerant preacher. The entire place is inflected.

They egg each other on… and they seem drunk with the glee of the hatred. That’s what so disturbing. That just doesn’t happen one-off; it is nurtured.

    • http://deleted TheViking

      …it’s because he’s a Puppet!

And these people around him are his controllers…and yes the list is long.

It’s so obvious to me, it’s not even funny anymore.

      1. He’s an empty suit
      2. He’s a great orator
      3. He has a great smile*

      He’s a Puppet Master’s DREAM!

Time for a little comic relief.

The other day I went downtown and went into a biscuit shop.
I was only in there for about 5 minutes. When I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.
I went up to him and said, ‘Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break’?

He ignored me and continued writing the ticket – so I called him a ‘Nazi.’
He glared at me and started writing another ticket! ! for having worn tires.
So I called him a ‘doughnut eating Gestapo.’
He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.
Then he started writing a third ticket.
This went on for about 20 minutes.
The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn’t care. I came downtown on the bus.
The car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said ‘Obama in ’08.’
I try to have a little fun each day now that I’m retired.
    It’s important to my health.

    • Sonia

      Oh My God
      thats hillarious.

      thats not true –is it??
i mean –either way –its painfully funny.

Not sure if it`s real or not but I can`t wait until I see another BO bumper sticker.

      That was GREAT !!!

    • Kevin

      that is beautiful, thanks.

I think what the MSM has missed is not the individual controversies. but the pattern of profoundly poor judgement displayed by a man who is running for POTUS. earlier some troll said do you want an old man with a temper with access to the launch codes? I said I would prefer a woman with experience over a junior intern. no response. By surrounding himself with these idiots, BO appears to have poor judgement, and a lack of control over his associates. I for one prefer a President with sound decision making capabilities, we have seen over the last 8 years what an idiot gets you. BO is coming close to that level.

    • Strawberry

LOL, you’re evil, simply evil. I adore you. Now, if I had done that, the bus I was waiting for, would have careened out of control and run my ass over. Karma and I are on a first name basis.

    WOW—MORE SHITT SPATTERS FROM OBAMAS

    SAY—DRIP,DRIP,DRIP,

HEY BARACK —-DID I HEAR U R GONNA HOLD ONE MORE NEWS CONFERENCE ABOUT THIS TOO?

  • ckennedy

Hellllooooo . . . Scottie spilled it, confirming what we already know, but putting McCain in an even worse position as he maintains support for the failing / criminal war on Iraq. This—and the final link to Bush as Plame leaker—is good news for whoever gets the Democratic nomination and was of some interest to you earlier . . .

    • spamccensor

I would think, somehow, this will lead to the involvement of the IL combine, in part, it does have a very strong Iraqi contingent, witness Alsammarae.(At last count, over 2 billion stolen from the American taxpayer). In addition Rezko is said to have Iraqi, now Syrian, Baathist connections.

And then right back to BO.

The IL combine has profited handsomely from Iraq.

I would like someone to give me one GOOD reason why i should feel guilty. None of my realtives ever owned slaves. I or my family did not bring slaves here, my family did not come here till AFTER the civil war on my grandfathers side. And Both my grandmothers were Native American. Besides all that, Most americans are not rich snots, like the preacher tried to talk about. I understand the slaves were brought here by force, however, my grandmothers lands were stolen! SO please do not ask me to feel gulity beacuse of any black person. At least they still have a home to go back to!!!!

    • HARP

      Good one

    • http://lkcampbell.blogspot.com Lucinda

Not to mention the fact that the U.S. government attempted to annihilate your people. I’ve always believed that if anyone in this country is “entitled” it’s the Native Americans.
You also raise another valid point. What about the millions of white people whose families came here after slavery was abolished? Are they supposed to feel guilty? A lot of their ancestors weren’t treated all that good, either.
There has to be some point where we get over and past all of this, so that we can move forward as a unified society. Obama certainly isn’t the answer to that, because he and his “friends” have fanned the flames of division. He’s even brought back the old Generation Gap from the 1960s with his young supporters calling older people, “geezers” and “menopausal hags” etc.
Maybe we just aren’t mature enough yet, or sociologically developed enough yet to handle the issues we’re facing right now.

      • miriam

Or maybe some of us are mature enough to resist dwelling on past wrongs as if they entitled us to commit more wrongs. The past is over. Nothing and no one can change it. But we can do plenty about making today and the future better for all people…not just the chosen few who scream the loudest.

Just curious… I so wish we can presevere the laungauges and customs of Native Americans.

I hear ya. My ancestors came from Ireland during the potato famine. Hardly entitled.

My ancestors came from Ireland too after the Civil War, and they lived in the NORTH, not the South. Slavery was illegal in the North before the Civil War. Doesn’t any Obamazoid know anything about history?

  • Mr X

It’s become ingreasingly difficult to put forth any dissenting opinions because everything is taken out of context when you speak out. Obama always paints himself as the victim which makes dissenters appear as out of touch and backwards. For example, if one is scared of black liberation theology, then they will paint it as you wanting to hold onto white power and being scared of blacks when the truth is that any kind of hatred toward entire sections of the population is wrong. When one proclaims that they support (or don’t support) something, advesaries will say that you don’t like (or like respectively) the exact opposite. For example, if you speak out for hard working white people, then they’ll paint this as being racist for mentioning white people. Apparently, you can speak up for minorities, but not for the white people. It kind of reminds me of when Chris Rock said that when he was a kid, he thought all white people were happy.

More than anything, it’s become a season of gotchas. I thought being PC was bad enough, but the thought police has really gone into overdrive even when you’re on the right side of the issues like counting all the votes. Somehow that makes one trying to stop the first black man from getting into office or of not following the (non-existant) rules and trying to steal an election. How you steal an election by counting all the votes is beyond me, but that’s one of the arguments I’ve heard.

I’ve seen countless people accused of doing the very thing that the accuser is responsible of doing. And it all flows directly from the Obama campaign. No matter what happens, I think Obama has caused irreparable damage. From the above video, it’s like they have carte blanche for all things crazy.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

It takes true adult maturity to disagree and not devolve into anger, payback, snark replies, etc.

I assumed early on that a lot of the snarky stuff was due to the age group on-line. However, Chris Matthews sounds pretty similar to me, and he’s got gray hair. So it’s more about maturity than about age.

As for the good father’s remarks, he’s been doing this drill for a long time, so Obama knew exactly what he was all about. I’ll never quite understand why this type of trash-talk was appealing to any of the congration, nevermind Obama who apparently always had political aspirations.

It DOES make me wonder if he’s privately quite still enamoured with the ideology. I’m not yet willing to buy that entirely. I do buy he is soaked in the structure of thinking. He is, in fact, a victim. He always will be.

I also am cynical and think that he used them just like he used MoveOn people and now is cutting their donations off. He used the AA community and didn’t even bother to show up to their major events. Didn’t want to look too AA, you know. He has used the youth. I hope they at least get a decent college loan program in return. He used the working class when he tried to pull that stunt about NAFTA over on them. I noticed that they figured out what was what and didn’t go for the hook.

He’d use women, too, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to get a chance to do that one.

He’s just a user. Victims are the worst about that. They feel justified.

    • Linda C.

These so called preachers use liberation theology as a crutch, a prop. They are not liberation theologians or even practice the theology. They merely use it for their own empowerment and self fulfillment.

There is more to liberation theology than just Black liberation theology..Wrights and Pfleger’s “Black Liberation” theology meets a dead end with Feminist liberation theology…Wright’s and Pflegler’s Black Liberation theology might as well be called Black Male Liberation theology they focus their views to the denigration of women of every color. They chose to denigrate women. They must tear down others in order to build themselves up. This is no theology…it is a circus.

  • CognitiveDissonance

What idiots like Pfleger don’t seem to take into consideration is that they are tarring absolutely everyone who isn’t black with the same brush. Does he realize how much immigration has happened in the past 150 years since slavery ended? My family, for instance, didn’t even come the the US until the 1890′s, so I refuse to let anyone claim that my ancestors were for slavery. We also have many decidedly hispanic/latino people, asians, people from arabic countries, etc., who can’t be held to account. Perhaps his ancestors were slaveholders. In that case, he should be handing over his 401K instead of demagoguing the rest of the world in his sick rant.

What is so unbelievable is the fact that these morons don’t realize that this is such a losing strategy. Do they really think that the vast majority of Americans are going to vote for this kind of race-baiting hatred to sit in the White House for the next 4-8 years? Hardly. Just look at what happened to McGovern, when the vast majority of Americans were afraid of what the anti-war movement would do to the country? (Thanks to people like Ayres). Race is even more of an explosive division. It will be so easy to 527 these people to death. Any 3rd grader can see it. Only our dem leaders live in such a bubble that they don’t know what ordinary Americans feel about all this.

    • MEchelle Hates America!

NUTHIN BUT HATE – OBAMA ’08

    • ginaswo

ahh but see it is apparently our way back whenever Europeanesque qualities that make us guilty anyway, per Wright, and Alice Walker told the Guardian, that EVERY WHITE GIRL BORN IN AMERICA HAS INHERITED RACIAL GUILT. Isnt that lovely. I guess they didnt catch the National Geographic matriarchal DNA sampling study showing we all ultimately came from Africa….

  • OxyCOn

Two points of fact that the haters Pfleger and Wright should know.

    1) the reason there are so many AAs in Chicago is because of the direct efforts of white people who brought them to their freedom through the underground railroad.

    2) there is and has never been a better place in the entire world for AAs to live then the United States of America.

So it’s time for the Chicago style, anti-white racist haters to stop spreading their hatred.
Bwak Obama surrounded himself with this anti-white racist hatred for over twenty years. I think he did so because he buys into all of it. I think inside he really does loathe Bill and Hillary Clinton, simply because they are white and powerful people. If I’m wrong, so be it, but how the hell can anyone explain to me why Obama willingly listened to all of this anti-white hatred for over twenty years, and not once did he do anything to try and make it stop. Not once did he lift a finger and say “this is wrong, I won’t be a part of this hatred”.

    • Dawnelle

Yea how dumb can these crazy preachers really be??? Don’t they realize the BIGGEST group of OLD SLAVE OWNERS now live and reside in the ELITE sections of the U.S.

That is the OTHER part of their base isn’t it??? The X slave owners???

Half of my ancestors came over to escape Hitler’s crap (even though they were not Jewish, Hitler didn’t ONLY kill Jews and they weren’t taking any chances).
The other half were Irish/Scotch and came over around the same time as the potato famine!

I can’t believe BLACKS in general are that stupid that they would lump us all into one POT (calling the kettle black?)

anyway, I feel no guilt so they can keep screaming and foaming at the mouth if they want just stay the HELL OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE!!!

    • ginaswo

yes thank you Harriet Beecher Stowe and the suffragists who fought for abolition, Obama told us in one of his books that if innocent good hearted white people had to suffer for being labeled racist with the ones who were oh well that’s just the way it is, something to that effect..unreal.

  • http://Reddragon62.blogspot.com/ RedDragon62

This is true…The AA community EXPLODED after the Civil War here in Chicago. Those that hate the most are those that got the most out of the blood that was shed by those boys in blue!

    • spamccensor

AA’a fought in the civil war, and moved to Chicago from the Delta, for the work.

In addition, the Chicago AA’s gave us Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, and Koko Taylor, among others, some of the finest men and women I knew while I lived there, in Chicago, were African American, of a quiet dignity.

    • ginaswo

yes, and lots of labor force conflicts followed..apparently Oklahoma was a hotbed of terrible racism at one time also, the cycle of labor conflicts is endless, the Chinese, the Irish, the Italians, the AA, the Japanese, people killed b/c auto workers thought they were Japanese (Who Killed Vincent Chin) that in Detroit, and the guy walked…

      • ginaswo

a lot of racism is conflict over work wrapped up in a label, I believe the first time rights were taken form AA in Jamestown colony was when indentured servants came over and the wealthy wanted to stop them from rioting and striking so to make them feel better they took rights from the AAs so these folks could feel like they were ahead of another group, ti continues today and Wright and Pflegler spread the hate and help the wealthy stay that way…

I heard Bush is going to war with Iran in November and this will put a stop to the election. He’ll declare a police state. Obama is really taking the country down. I can’t wait until he steps down.

    • John

If that was the Bush Administration’s plan, we may never know, because it won’t happen now. By October McCain will be up by 20 points and the idea of postponing the election will just seem silly from the GOP’s point of view.

How many times to I have to let people know that I have no white guilt and I am not voting for Barack Obama?

My ancesters came here from Europe roughly a hundred years ago. Before women could vote, as a matter of fact. They had nothing whatsoever to do with slavery. I had nothing whatsoever to do with slavery. I marched for civil rights back when it was important to african americans. Today, I see that I am not getting the same courtesy in return. Furthermore, I wouldn’t vote for Barack Obama even if I DID have white guilt because he 1) is a Liar; 2) is unqualified; 3) hates white people; 4) has a very nasty wife; 5)is a duplicitous panderer 6) has some very dubious connections to the middle east; 7) defends slimeball domestic terrorists;8) dislikes every voting block that doesn’t interest him; 9)is a corrupt chicago politician; 10) is influenced by a whackjob religion; 11) has no respect for women. And that’s my short list.

Contrary to popular belief not all southerners had slaves. I’m one of those Heinz 57 southerners (mix of English, Irish, Scotch, German, French Huguenot and Native American), whose ancestors came over anywhere from the early 1600′s – the late 1700′s and had to give up their OWN freedom for a number of years after arriving to pay the fare to get here by working for somebody else themselves.

The descendents after them, but before me were nothing more than dirt poor farmers that eventually morphed into housewives, truck drivers, welders, factory workers, salesmen, and a couple of preachers once into the 1900′s.

I don’t owe anybody squat unless you count the revenoors who came lookin’ for a couple of boot-leggin’ ancestors. ;-)

I met a white dude who told me at our caucus…”we owe it to black people to have Barack as president.”
      shiiiiiiiiiit.

      • Linda C.

Well that is fine. But Barak Obama was not born a poor black child and is not descended from slaves brought to this country anymore than I am descended from slave owners.

So why should Barak Obama benefit from a history that he does not share? Barak Obama does not share the historical struggles of the African American community. This man has risen in his career by simply who he has known and not by what he has done. As far as I am concerned, he is the Black version of GWB.

I wish Barbara Jordan was still alive.

        • mimi

          Thank you Linda C.

Obama is not connected to me culturally, sociologically or historically. He grew up in an island paradise where people of color dominated. He could have been easily mistaken for a native kid at a casual glance. He probably only came to grips with his ethnicity when he went to CA as a student. And it probably was a shockaroo to him. I was in LA around the time he went to college there and it was not unusual for black men to be stopped by LA cops for no reason. Maybe something like this happened to Obama and it traumatized him. After living his entire life in the cocoon of Hawaii, suddenly he’s black. Maybe that’s why he transferred to Columbia in a much more ethnically friendly campus and community.

Whatever! His identity problems are his own and are not mine.

All I know is this: no real black person would be carrying on this way to get elected. Obama is the front-man for a political cartel that has effectively, exploited the desperation of blacks. America may still owe us a thing or two, even a black president, but that black president IS NOT BARACK OBAMA! And I resent him using my past for his own ambition. He has trivialized every issue belonging to our community with this rag-tag team of 60s radicals who have the audacity to be telling people on behalf of the black community that white people must vote for Barack Obama. These people have lost their cotton-pickin’ minds.

Each and every day reveals yet another reason why Obama should be kicked out of politics for good. He’s not fit to hold that Senate seat, much less be POTUS. It’s unbelievable that the Republicans want to roll the dice with this ratfuck in Nov. If this was the old west, Obama would’ve been run out of Deadwood, he’s so corrupt.

MESSAGE TO DNC: END THE MADNESS!

While I agree the Clinton camp has tossed fuel on the fire, I think it was inevitable that if Clinton lost the nomination many women would conclude that this was somehow stolen from her. This fake preacher is absolutely greasy. He looks like a money man to me. Simply goes where the bucks are. White preacher in a black church preaching hate of whites. Why would they even want him there?
They must be laughing their asses off at him.

Fr Pfleger is such an ass. Wait until all young white college students hear that they need to pay for the sins of men from 150+ years ago.
I not only will vote for McCain but I will give money to his campaign if Obama is the democratic nominee

    • NoToDisenfranchisement

      HA!

I think what would be funny is Clinton supporting parents should just let their Obama supporting college kids pay their own way. And of course, if Obama and Pfleger push for Reparations, that would go on top of the tuition.

  • troll free zone

So let’s see…. they’ve managed to turn the word

Yes Mr. Orwell, we’ve found your stooges.

    “Ignorance is strength.”

  • kat in your hat

    Oh, and more:

Pfleger, known locally as a community activist and organizer, was arrested in June 2007 with the Rev. Jesse Jackson during a protest outside of a south suburban Chicago gun shop. The criminal trespass charges were later dropped.

He also has hosted Louis Farrakhan, the controversial leader of the Nation of Islam, at St. Sabina and has called him “a gift from God to a sick, sick world.”

The pure hate oozing from this man’s lips is amazing and frightening. Because this guy is a true believer. I am not sure why but Chicago has more bigots and racists that are open about it than anywhere else I have ever even heard of.

When I hear stuff like this I almost go into shock because I find it so hard to believe that anyone could act in such a completely hateful manner day after day. And for some strange reason all these folks that hate America also support Obama. That in itself should be enough of a warning to the whole country.

    • troll free zone

And let’s not forget the other groups of haters.
The white supremacists used to be big in Chicago.
They did that march in Skokie in the late 70s.
Where are they? I kind of doubt they’ve been converted to sanity, either. All of this stirring of the pot of hate, is going to cause one hell of a backlash. Hate begets hate. Jesus, why are these people so stupid? Why are they so caught up in how “fun it is” to hate people. Do they not know that there are people just as sick as them on the other side of the hate coin?

As Hunter Thompson said, “the scum also rises.”

well, the scum has risen enough. It’s time sanity returned.

        Silly, and boring.

Big ole queens of the drama, no intellect at all.

Alinsky is not genius, maybe not even workable, but they really can’t grasp why, lacking the ability to properly analyze, and discern.

This attempt today to attack NQ is limp, the same old crew, not capable of an intelligent thought, unsophisticated, obviously badly educated.

You’d walk away from them in a bar, from boredom, why is it any different here?

  • Mr X

In November, if Obama is the nominee, then he will lose and people will again be asking what went wrong? It’s so funny when you look at it that way because you can ask which one of these did you miss, Sherlock?

Rezko, Farrakhan, Pfleger, Moss, Ayers, Wright, Meeks, Auchi, Rashid and Mona Khalidi, Hamas, “typical white woman”, sweetie, “periodically”, opposing counting FL & MI and the revote, calling Ferraro racist, calling Bill Clinton racist (especially SC, that one stung), calling Hillary racist, calling all Hillary voters racist, RFK debacle, “bitter” comments, dissing WV & KY, great lakes in Oregon, 57 states, eating his waffles, kiss for a vote, bowling a 37, talking with all leaders without preconditions, NAFTA lies, Iraq lies (was against the war before he was for it before he was against it and he actually never voted against it), public Iraq policy not the same as private one, lobbyists ties when saying he has none, Odinga (copying platform), stealing speeches, seeing dead people, never winning against a Republican except for Alan Keyes, shoddy electoral map where he’ll NEVER get AK, WV, KY, NV, TN & FL (where Hillayr can) and where MI, OH & PA are not looking good, Michelle’s “proud” and “America is downright mean” comments, lapel pin, black liberation theology, late term abortions, “bamboozle and hoodwink” comment, “I’ll get her votes, but she won’t get mine” comment, empty resume, saying Hillary will do anything to win, accusing the Bill Clinton administration for the bad economy, blaming Democrats for the Iraq war, Selma lies, accusing Bill Clinton of McCarthyism, Kansas death toll of 10,000 vs. actual 12, incorrectly calling a reporter Tim several times, lies about Rezko campaign contributions (from 50K to 100K to 250K), Sunshine FL instead of Sunrise FL, arabic speakers in Afghanistan, fake unarmed platoon scenario (led by a captain no less), etc.

What could possibly go wrong in November?

This time, the shock is wearing off, and this time I see those people in the pews and I think, you pukes. This time I see how much they love spending Sunday morning getting encourage to hate me and my family who have never wished them anything but good.

This time I think I would like to go stand outside that Church on Sunday morning and look them in the eye as they come out. The traitors, the idiots.

If anyone from that Church is reading these comments I would like to tell you: I voted consistently all my live to ensure that the people who I elected to office protected things you take for granted. Things me and my family have no access to: Welfare, Medicare, WICK, Early Childhood programs, Affirmative Action, Set Aside, how many other programs. Hundreds of millions of dollars were appropriated to rehabilitate those rat infested buildings you are forced to live in, but by the time your blood sucking Chicago Combine, Rezko, Wright, Ayers, Pfleger took their cut there wasn’t enough left to send out for pizza. You are a bunch of idiots, and yeah you are being victimized, but not by me.

And I am changing how I vote.

  • Disgusted

This is just more of the Chicago game. This uh um Rev. preaches in a predominantly black area. In other words he makes his living off of “black anger”. Should we say he panders to his flock? To me he looked like a damn fool. He should have finished every sentence with “but not me though”. The real anger should be directed at him. He is stuffing his own pockets and the churches cofers with this. He is milking money from these monetarily poor and spiritually bankrupt people. Then as a bonus he gets grants and money from Chicago politicians for keeping the “flock” in line with what they are trying to accomplish. I sure hope this parasite doesn’t move to my suburb like the Rev Wright is doing. Both preach against whites and middle class. Wright is already moving to my white middle class suburb. To enjoy the finer things that his anger has paid for. What a hypocrite. Oh BTW the church paid for his 10,000 SQ Ft house in whiteville. Couldn’t build a park for the community they claim to serve?

    • troll free zone

If they built a park, people might be happy. If people were happy they wouldn’t go to a church of hate. Of course with this group, I suppose they could go and sit in a park and curse the sun for shining, the birds for singing and the grass for growing.

Someone asked when this tape was made. I heard yesterday that it was from last Sunday, May 25. Pretty incredible.

Apparently Pfleger has been the intermidiary between Jeremiah Wright and Obama after all of the Wright controversy.

I have never seen such a race-baiting, divisive campaign in my life. I was disgusted after NH when Obama supporters first using their under-handed tactics of race-bating.

I am convinced that Obama will implode and Hillary will be the nominee. If there was any sanity in this process it would have happened long ago!

    • ginaswo

Then they can trot over to Trinity where the pastors HUMP the mic.

  • Mel

    Larry, you can’t fault Pfleger!

He is just following Obama’s teachings as exemplified in this writing of Obama’s in 1988, reprintined in 1990:

Nowhere is the promise of organizing more apparent than in the traditional black churches. Possessing tremendous financial resources, membership and — most importantly — values and biblical traditions that call for empowerment and liberation, the black church is clearly a slumbering giant in the political and economic landscape of cities like Chicago. A fierce independence among black pastors and a preference for more traditional approaches to social involvement (supporting candidates for office, providing shelters for the homeless) have prevented the black church from bringing its full weight to bear on the political, social and economic arenas of the city.

Over the past few years, however, more and more young and forward-thinking pastors have begun to look at community organizations such as the Developing Communities Project in the far south side and GREAT in the Grand Boulevard area as a powerful tool for living the social gospel, one which can educate and empower entire congregations and not just serve as a platform for a few prophetic leaders. Should a mere 50 prominent black churches, out of the thousands that exist in cities like Chicago, decide to collaborate with a trained organizing staff, enormous positive changes could be wrought in the education, housing, employment and spirit of inner-city black communities, changes that would send powerful ripples throughout the city.

    http://www.edwoj.com/Alinsky/AlinskyObamaChapter1990.htm

Shame Obama as a self proclaimed Constutional Lawyer never grasped separation of church and state! But for Obamma, anything to serve his own needs comes first!

I was raised a Catholic, although I am not one now. But I can tell you without reservations that this jerk has a better chance of seeing God than he has of attracting Catholics to him. Catholic priests don’t act like he does even on their worst day.

    • Ulahane

The biggest differences are very obvious. Pfleger is blaming one race for all the sins of the country. Secondly, most right-winged nuts believe that God will punish America. Pfleger is implicitly endorsing reparations, which he has explicitly called for.

Must be the same reason he voted No to a 30% cap on credit cards. He said it was “too high”. So no cap is better than a 30% cap. I’ll tell you why he voted No. Just look at his top ten contributers. That’s why. He’s wall street’s puppy.

The bottom line is that Trinity — like much of the Chicago political landscape — is a race-peddling $$ factory which caters to “Buppies” (Black Yuppies) who are doing well financially but still want to feel ‘down for the struggle.’

The church is a farce, and Obambi knew that 20 years ago. And he only joined because of Wright, even though Bambi was told there were better options for his political advancement than Trinity.

He picked it because of Wright’s radicalism. That is what Barack Obama, wayward youth with massive identity issues, wanted and needed.

It’s all very obvious and simple.

Delurking for the third time in a week. This posting affects me more than most because I am a survivor of rape. This casual, “political” use of the term “Rape” bothers me greatly. It denigrates the people who have actually (not virtually, as in this video) been subjected to the most vile, dehumanizing act ever (and don’t kid yourself guys, men get raped too, and those rapists aren’t homosexuals. Something about sociopath/psychopaths ring a bell?).
Anyway, back to the posting. I find the rhetoric in this tape, as in the previous three or four, offensive. The comparison to rape is doubly offensive. Rape is common throughout the world. It doesn’t have a color. Strangely, mysogny is also common throughout the word, and it doesn’t have a color. Stranger still, the largest percentage of rape victims are …..women of all colors. The largest number of honor killings are….oh wait, the only victims of honor killings are women….of all colors.
Obama’s friends can take their rhetoric to the bank, but I wonder what they see when they look in the mirror. I know what I see…

    • workingclass artist

    • mahaska

Don’t ya just love the way men throw around the word rape? They have no idea the cost to a woman or child who has suffered it. They think it’s sex. It isn’t. It’s assertion of power. Men can never understand the fear of encountering a male in a dark parking garage. They’ll never understand how we have to be on our guard so much of the time. Rape is not just a word.

    • ginaswo

      thank you for delurking HT

Yeah, I heard the same thing: Phleger is charge of the Catholic vote. What limited vote would that be–the Catholics of his own parish? My Irish grandmother is turning over in her grave. Never in the 25 years I attended Mass did I ever hear this spew from a priest. I can gauarantee you, if parishioners from my Church had heard this with a reverse note–anti black–they would have walked out, called the Bishop and had this so-called priest removed.

I’m sorry, I do not think Trinity represents the voice of the Black Church any more than I think Phleger represents the Catholic Church. It’s one thing to be raucous and joyous and loud; quite another to be deliberately mean-spirited and bigoted.

The more troubling issue is that Barack Obama made a choice to attend this church, support it and listen to the vile message it passes off as a Christian, religious message. I don’t hear any love in these words. I hear only hate.

    Shame on them all!

    • Kafir

The worst part about his membership at TUCC is that he allowed his daughters to hear the racist, anti-American doctrine of Wright and Moss. If he didn’t agree with the garbage being preached there, why would he allow that to happen?

I agree. There’s a good interview with an AA minister on Fox who definitely agrees.

EUGENE ROBINSON on MSNBC: Pfleger’s just some guy who has nothing to do with Obama.

    Respond to Eugene:

    My response:

“It’s not formal, me getting on my knees,” he says. “I think I have an ongoing conversation with God…. I’m constantly asking myself questions about what I’m doing, why I am doing it.

“The biggest challenge, I think, is always maintaining your moral compass.”

Friends and advisers, such as the Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Roman Catholic Church in the Auburn- Gresham community on the South Side, who has known Obama for the better part of 20 years, help him keep that compass set, he says. /snip/

Mr. Robinson, tonight on MSNBC were you not aware of the close and long term relationship between Obama and Pfleger? Or did you ignore this fact for Obama’s political convenience? Either way you sounded…well, stupid. Many blogs have this article and are aware that after Obama won a state senate seat he earmarked $100,000 for a program at Pfleger’s church–of course Pfleger did campaign for him and did donate to his campaign for state senate, so I guess what’s due is due.

    Best,

    Jack

Thank you Larry for a great web site.

The video of this man is immoral and revolting,..I would not want my children to see it or hear it. It is hate made visible. I do not feel a God present at any time in this church. It is a hatefest.

I am not going to let these people take over the USA. We must fight back, and defend the good of this country.

The use of the word rape over and over is abusive to women , and demeans people who were actual victims.

    This is very disturbing……………

Unbelievable, the pope was just here a month or so ago. He had to face off with all those families who were crippled by “physical and mental rape” by many
priest and they covered it up for so long. How about all
that money Father Pfleger is getting to rebuild his
church, give it to those who will forever be rebuilding their psych. And while we talk about rape, let’s give the many female/male victms in this country their due too.

    Apologies not accepted!

    wanna here somethin ‘ wild?

I just had a nice Friday cocktail with a very famous democratic commentator, a netroot hero, an extremely close friend of Al Gore’s – and a guy who in his primary, I know chose to vote for Hillary, but at the time had nothing but praise for Obama.

Because of his role in our dialog – he is also publicly uncommitted. He has defended Obama along with Clinton throughout this campaign and is savage in his attacks on McCain and the GOP.

But after seeing the Reverend Father’s tape yesterday – he now says he doesnt think that he can vote for Obama. Knowing him, believe you me, this is shocking.

This is a seriously brilliant man. Al Gore once told me that he thinks he is the smartest man he’s ever known (and think of the smart guys Al has met!) But he thinks that the priest’s rant says more about Obama’s circle than Wright does…that it opens us to having to ask serious questions about Obama’s Chicago base and his JUDGMENT! (And the way ALL of the Chicago Daley machine enables Farrakhan)

He actually said – in a jest – that was meant to be serious too – that maybe the Right is correct calling Obama “the Manchurian Candidate”.

    My Goodness!

    • http://www.despair.com/idiocy.html Smilin’ Jim

“maybe the Right is correct calling Obama “the Manchurian Candidate”.”

Thanks Larry for posting this. Although the tone and manner of delivery were different, the content was exactly the same at the CSEA conference I attended.

In a church, in the public square, or over at Motel 1600 or the Pork Barrel Hotel (formally known as Hotel California)..there is no place for this.

What was illuminating was the crowd’s reaction. The idea of “reparations” has a strong preasence in the “just words” of Trinity Church. I would like to interview some of the parisheners and ask them two questions.

    1) Did you find this speech offensive in anyway?
    2) If so, why did you not walkout?

The Silent Majority can no longer afford to remain so.

Obama not only tolerates hate mongers, racists, amd misogynists, he actually sought them out and used them to further his grab for power. It is clear now that from the beginning he planned on destroying the Clintons with his racists tactics, that is the only way he could get all the black people to vote for him. What I really can not understand is why the black people are still supporting him after all the garbage Obama has surrounded himself with has been exposed. Are they really that desparate to have a black president that they will wallow in the same garbage with Obama? It’s mind boggling.

  • http://Reddragon62.blogspot.com/ RedDragon62

Didn’t you know? That wasn’t a church this priest was in, that was DefComedy Jam!
Those parishoners acted the same way those clowns act when on HBO’s DefComedy jam. That’s the culture we are in!

Anyone listening to Bill O’Reilly? Geraldine Ferraro is criticizing Father Pfleger’s racist, sexist rant and Bill O’Reilly is defending him!!! The Boyz Club is a very large club as long as Hillary Clinton is the person being attacked…

Stacy Taylor was saying Father Pfleger’s rant was nothing new this afternoon. Stacy Taylor is a “progressive” or “independent” who broadcasts from San Diego. Something new he did add, that while Stacy was working for station WLS in Chicago, Father Pfleger was very well known as “Father Flakey.” I love it! But I am changing it to Father Pflakey.

  • lemonv

The Obama surrogates has made race as an issue in this primary (with the blessings of the Obama campaign?) and race bait, too , as a counterpoint to whatever future controversies and scandals that Obama might have in the future. He has made race and race baiting the central portion of his campaign. It is with a certainty that Obama surrogates(with the blessings of the Obama campaign?) will answer every controversy and scandal with statements pertaining to race.

Remember the time when the Somali tribal dress that Barack wore in 2006 and was leaked thru the Drudge Report? David Plouffe immidiately accused the Clinton team of ’shameful offensive fear-mongering’. Then there is the op-ed of Orlando Patterson in the NY times which tried to put race in the 3am ad of Sen. Clinton. To qoute the 1st paragraph of the op-ed:

“On first watching Hillary Clinton’s recent “It’s 3 a.m.” advertisement, I was left with an uneasy feeling that something was not quite right — something that went beyond my disappointment that she had decided to go negative. Repeated watching of the ad on YouTube increased my unease. I realized that I had only too often in my study of America’s racial history seen images much like these, and the sentiments to which they allude.” And that is only the 1st paragraph.

Then there is the latest “brushing the dirt off the shoulder” incident which the Obama surrogates(?) has linked to the Jay Z song, “Dirt Off Your Shoulder”, a racially charged song (see this web link and judge for yourself.)http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/jayz/dirtoffyourshoulder.html

    And now this:

May 9, 2008 — WASHINGTON – First it was Bill Clinton dismissing Barack Obama as just another black candidate winning South Carolina.

Now comes Hillary Rodham Clinton, splashing moonshine onto those smoldering embers by telling West Virginia voters that “hardworking Americans, white Americans” support her, not Obama.

So “hardworking Americans” who support Hillary are racists, then? If that is Obamas’ position, then my vote will be Hillarys’ and will write that name in the ballot. Otherwise, other voters will have to decide but not me.

This can be construed as race baiting tactics of the Obama team and surrogates. It only needs a spark.

Please forward to your friends because it is imperative that the American people know who the real Barack Obama is and the way it is seen by me is he wants the race card to be front and foremost always. This has been his strategy in the primary and may have tragic consequences down the road as far as the DNC is concerned.

In order for me to change this perspective on Obama, he must prove to me by his actions that this perspective is wrong. Otherwise, it is beginning to become strenghtened by it.

A couple of things I find interesting.
The Radical left church wing nuts are just as easily manipulated by political power grabbers as the right church wing nuts.

Each sect must need a group to demonize. The right wing nuts have powerful rants against the GLBT community spewing their hate and the folks in the pews chant and sing Alleluia. The left religious wing nuts demonize whitey and every head bobs up and down and chants Alleluia. One could literally splice the sermons over one another and the crowd reaction would be the same. Each sect believes they are righteous and within god’s will speaking like the prophets of old. If it wasn’t so dangerous, it would be simply pathetic.

  • I will Remember in November

Look I have a real problem with a white man telling black people how they should feel and continue to feel. Black people were slaves and the white slave master often and with great frequency raped HIS property. Okay that is a FACT (period). Now what?

I do not like how trinty uses historical evil and bad past events to rail up its members and kept them shackled to their good and factual EXCUSE to not try to succeed and go forward. A church should aspire in GOD’s words not support and reinforce the reason that a certain segment of the black community believe’s they can’t succeed.
In other words, it is what it is so now what?

RIGHT AND OBAMA: TWO DIFFERENT INGREDIENTS TO A NEW AMERICA
“…Senator Barack Obama and Reverend Jeremiah Wright, love America, are passionate about its future, and desire at their very core the best for this country and for each and every one…The truth is we need both!…”

This has been a sad week for me. I have watched two friends who I respect, admire, and have a deep love for, torn apart by pundits and editorialists, talking heads, and political strategists! It has been sad because both men that I know, Senator Barack Obama and Reverend Jeremiah Wright, love America, are passionate about its future, and desire at their very core the best for this country and for each and every one of its citizens. I must also say that I find it quite hypocritical that conservative preachers and commentators who have identified themselves as the protectors and respecters of life are consistently silent on the issues of gun violence, poverty, no health care, poor education, and the effects of racism and classism that are continually killing life in our inner cities. Yet when other voices identify them, they’re called angry and unpatriotic.

There has been a strong desire and demand to make people take a side, draw a line in the sand and make a choice between Wright and Obama. I personally believe this is evil and unfair. First of all, I don’t understand why Senator Obama and Reverend Wright are suddenly being held accountable and responsible for whatever the other says. This is not being done in either of the campaigns of Senator Clinton or Senator McCain. So the question must be asked, what’s the hidden strategy as to why this is being done to Senator Obama and Reverend Wright? Secondly, why are they seemingly being forced to not only be held accountable for each other, but to speak for and sound like each other? They are different persons, different personalities, and have different purposes. Finally, I understand, appreciate, and believe we need both!

Senator Obama has spent the past two years and years earlier in his political life presenting America a vision of hope. Hope as to who we can be, how we can be inclusive and different, how we can do politics differently, and how we can build a new and better America. This vision of hope has set a fire of enthusiasm, excitement, and involvement across this country.

Reverend Wright, as a gifted preacher in the prophetic tradition, has spent his ministry identifying the sins, problems, and stumbling blocks of racism, sexism, classism, poverty, inequality, and the down right lies that must be acknowledged and eradicated if we are to build a new and better America. He has given hope to masses of people who have come to feel invisible in America.

The truth is we need both!

We need a voice of hope that points us to a vision and we need a prophetic voice that makes us uncomfortable and forces us to acknowledge our sins. Senator Barack Obama and Reverend Jeremiah Wright are, I believe, seeking the same thing, what the scriptures may call “a new heaven and a new earth.” Why are we trying to force them to drive down the same street in order to get there, rather than being more preoccupied with arriving to the place of new beginnings, and grateful to all the different voices that take us there? The true audacity of hope comes when it seems everything looks hopeless. Both Senator Barack Obama and Reverend Jeremiah Wright are calling us to hope – but from their different vantage points.

I challenge us all not to get caught up in the trick to choose one or the other. Rather, let us be committed to the new day and the new beginning for America. And let us be appreciative and thankful for all the different and necessary voices who call us to get there! The truth is we need Senator Barack Obama and we need Reverend Jeremiah Wright and, if we are serious about wanting a new America, we cannot afford to throw either one of them under the bus!

    Rev. Michael L. Pfleger, Pastor

the Faith Community of Saint Sabina

I saw this as soon as it came out and was hoping somebody would put it on television but the first part where is mocking Hillary is all they did yesterday. I have not had a chance to watch O’reilly or Greta tonight. I hope they show the one about America Raping Blacks because people need to see that for what it is – gutter trash talk. No unity in those words.

Now I feel Obama/Marxist is also under the skin racist. I felt that way from reading his book and listening to his wife Michelle/Marxist but now I know.

Where are the votes going to come from now? AA, young college kids, white guilt elite liberals and who else? THERE IS NO ONE ELSE BECAUSE DONNA BRAZILE HAS TOLD THEM THEY ARE NOT NEEDED BY THE PARTY.

SO, OBAMA/MARXIST JUST TRY TO WIN THE SOUTHWEST WITH LATINOS, TRY TO WIN TENNESSEE, WEST VIRGINIA, KENTUCKY, WELL, MOST OF THE SOUTHERN STATES AFTER YOU HAVE INSULTED THEM BY CALLING THEM HILLBILLIES AND SCARED.

WE ARE NOT CLINGING TO OUR GUNS AND RELIGION FOR FEAR OF ANYTHING AND ESPECIALLY NOT FEARING YOUR FRIENDS WHO SPEW SUCH HATE SPEECH. WE ARE PROUD PEOPLE WHO FARM AND WORK HARD.

So,do not insult us with your “just words” of hate speech. You know you are very aware of all these people but you insult us with your belief that we will not pull back the layers of your onion and see you for who you are – MARXIST.

If you get the nomination by whatever way they want to hand it to you I will actively work for McCain for the first time in my life. The first in three generations of yellow-dog democrats. I am getting out of the party the day you announce.

I have my McCain stickers and signs ready but not up because you may stumble on your way to the finish line as you are stumbling now.

There is so much out there and it will come out.

    NO OBAMA/MARXIST
    HILLARY OR MCCAIN 2008

Larry, i think you got this one wrong. When Pfleger says “America needs to pay” and “get the sucker who has been rapping me and make him pay”, he is talking about reparations.

Now, if this is how we read his rant, we might have more success in swaying more people against him.

Affirmative action was very necessary at that time in history, and I find it painful to see people attacking the principle. Attack the people who benefitted and are using that as a political ax, but do not attack the rationale behind the policy. Believe it or not, it was very, very necessary.

The people who mistreated blacks are dead. I have done my best to raise two sons without prejudices that I was exposed to. What more can we do but accept our neighbors and love them.

It would be wonderful if we could bring back all the slave holders and beat them and kill them but we can’t. We can only go on from here. We have to make the effort. No one is saying get “over” it. We are saying get “on” with it. People have horrible, tragic things happen in their lives. But they need to survive, they need to get on with their lives and find some meaning.

Life is a bitch and then we die.

This is about reparations money. These priests and ministers want African Americans to get checks in the mail to compensate them for past and present injustices, but I’m sure you know that.
