[Updated with three of my favorite videos] “Hey, Mom, How Come All the Obama People Are Demanding Unity, Mom?”

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us My 25-year-old beautiful daughter asked me today.

“I thought our country was founded on the principle that people should have DIFFERENT views and be for DIFFERENT people and ideas,” she said.

I thought about it for a second, and replied:

“Maybe that’s why our founding fathers created different branches of government …”

My daughter interrupted:

“YES, mom! So they could have different views and disagree with each other and keep each other from having absolute power!”

… I dunno. I just thought I’d mention that my daughter has figured out that unity is not all it’s cracked up to be. That in fact DISunity is what makes this country greater than most.

And the last time people tried to shove that UNITY B.S. down my throat, it was the pro-war Bush-supporters of the Iraq war who said it was unpatriotic not to be united entirely behind our president and to support his elective war.

Which makes the Obama followers pretty much like the lockstep Bush followers. In my book.

GIVE ‘EM HELL, HAROLD ICKES and ALL OF HRC’s EXPERTS! DON’T GIVE ‘EM AN INCH! FIGHT ALL THE WAY! FIGHTING is what makes us GREAT Americans. And UNITING behind an empty suit without the experience or knowledge to be president — who consorts with extremist, anti-American, racist radicals — is just about the most UN-AMERICAN thing I can imagine doing in my entire lifetime as a LOYAL American citizen.

THREE MUST-SEE VIDEOS BELOW (the last tears at my heart every time I see it):

“The one thing his voters can count on is that they will ultimately be disappointed.” Der Spiegel has it exactly right.

I hear Gore is giving the party on Saturday night at the DNC meeting. He is still uncommitted. Think he will remind them of what could have been if all the votes were counted in Florida in 2000?

    • HillaryMadamePresident

      I certainly hope so.

    • Donkey Brazziere

Gore needs to rub their noses in it.

    • usedmeat

Former Vice President Al Gore knew the deck would be stacked against him so he chose not to run in 2004. I really thought the Senator Hillary Clinton would come to the same conclusion and not run this year. I guess her people looked into it and thought she would have a decent chance if not fair treatment by the Media at least enough word of mouth by real Americans of her accomplishments to make it viable. I can only imagine her and Former President Bill Clinton’s dismay that the attacks came from her own party.
I think it speaks volumes about his opinion of obama that Al Gore has not endorsed anybody. And before you obama supporters try to make anything out of that statement I imagine he has seen the shoddy treatment of good and decent Americans meted out by the obama camp followers towards anybody who dare to thwart the messiah.

    • salliort

I will be surprised if Gore reminds the DNC of anything. They are the most obtuse collection of demetia I’ve seen in a long time.

I’m going on record here. If Obama is the nominee, McCain will be the next President of the United States.

Those Obamabots are just starting to figure out that 60% of all Americans refuse to see their vision of change which is Marxist, Black Liberation Theology which is Anti-American and Racist with it’s goal of wealth distribution and punishment of whites through Reparations and systematic disenfranchisement of those that have supported them and championed their rights for all these years.

    • Skiron

Oh good grief. Please provide a quote or any kind of evidence that Obama advocates slavery reparations, or Marxism, or any other BS thing you just mentioned there.

In his book Black Theology and Black Power, Cone writes:

A moral or theological appeal based on a white definition of morality or theology will serve as a detriment to our attainment of black freedom. The only option we blacks have is to fight in every way possible, so that we can create a definition of freedom based on our own history and culture. We must not expect white people to give us freedom. Freedom is not a gift, but a responsibility, and thus must be taken against the will of those who hold us in bondage.”

      • salliort

Obama – is a long time friend of two SDS people who had no problem acting as traitors against the United States, who have conributed to his political career with much more than money. He’s bought.

      • AF catfish

Surrender our assets, which properly belong to blacks:

In his Trinity United oration, Pfleger asserted that white people have a moral obligation to surrender their assets, which, he suggested, properly belong to blacks (the video clip begins in midsentence):

–honest enough to address the one who says, “Well, don’t hold me responsible [gesticulating] for what my ancestors did.” But you have enjoyed the benefits of what your ancestors did and unless you are ready to give up the benefits [voice rising], throw away your 401 fund, throw away your trust fund, throw away all the money you put into the company you walked into because yo’ daddy and yo’ granddaddy and yo’ greatgranddaddy–[screaming at the top of his lungs]–unless you’re willing to give up the benefits, then you must be responsible for what was done in your generation ‘cuz you are the beneficiary of this insurance policy!

Please provide a quote or any kind of evidence that Obama advocates slavery reparations,

      • Tobias

Why don’t you prove he doesn’t? Just look at the way he got into polics. Sure it was legal but if was truly and “community activist” he would have made sure that all the people in his hood were registered. Isn’t that part of the job requirements? For him to use those tactics on the black people already in office is dispicable. It just shows his true character.

  • Michelle

Your daughter just paraphrased tone of the central theme’s in James Madison’s Federalist 10 (http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/federal/fed10.htm):

By a faction, I understand a number of citizens, whether amounting to a majority or a minority of the whole, who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adversed to the rights of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community.

There are two methods of curing the mischiefs of faction: the one, by removing its causes; the other, by controlling its effects.

There are again two methods of removing the causes of faction: the one, by destroying the liberty which is essential to its existence; the other, by giving to every citizen the same opinions, the same passions, and the same interests.

It could never be more truly said than of the first remedy, that it was worse than the disease. Liberty is to faction what air is to fire, an aliment without which it instantly expires. But it could not be less folly to abolish liberty, which is essential to political life, because it nourishes faction, than it would be to wish the annihilation of air, which is essential to animal life, because it imparts to fire its destructive agency.

The second expedient is as impracticable as the first would be unwise. As long as the reason of man continues fallible, and he is at liberty to exercise it, different opinions will be formed. As long as the connection subsists between his reason and his self-love, his opinions and his passions will have a reciprocal influence on each other; and the former will be objects to which the latter will attach themselves. The diversity in the faculties of men, from which the rights of property originate, is not less an insuperable obstacle to a uniformity of interests. The protection of these faculties is the first object of government. From the protection of different and unequal faculties of acquiring property, the possession of different degrees and kinds of property immediately results; and from the influence of these on the sentiments and views of the respective proprietors, ensues a division of the society into different interests and parties.

    • Michelle

BTW – The rest of Federalist 10 describes the “controlling the effects” of factions:

A republic, by which I mean a government in which the scheme of representation takes place, opens a different prospect, and promises the cure for which we are seeking. [and...] the greater number of citizens and extent of territory which may be brought within the compass of republican than of democratic government; and it is this circumstance principally which renders factious combinations less to be dreaded in the former than in the latter. The smaller the society, the fewer probably will be the distinct parties and interests composing it; the fewer the distinct parties and interests, the more frequently will a majority be found of the same party; and the smaller the number of individuals composing a majority, and the smaller the compass within which they are placed, the more easily will they concert and execute their plans of oppression. Extend the sphere, and you take in a greater variety of parties and interests; you make it less probable that a majority of the whole will have a common motive to invade the rights of other citizens; or if such a common motive exists, it will be more difficult for all who feel it to discover their own strength, and to act in unison with each other.

      • PAN230

I wonder how many of the ardent Obama followers here even know the Federalist Papers even exist? It appears to me as if they get their entire picture of reality from Obama/Axelrod talking points.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Good to bring up our forefathers. Shoot, they used to duel over this stuff. LOL*

I love reading biographies. It was such an exciting time in our history.

Today is too, now that we’re at the end and getting past the American Idol and other petty crap.

There are some real issues we’re now facing.

      That’s cool.

      • Michelle

Love the Framers – (Hamilton, Madison, Washington, Franklin, Adams, and even Jefferson – couldn’t have done it without them)

They were all incredibly brilliant and very human (with flaws and scandals and everything else)…

In fact, they were a lot like the Clintons…

Everytime I think I about the Burr-Hamilton duel, I think what it would have been like had VP Cheney killed former Treasury Secretary Bob Rubin! Could you imagine?!

But you’re right – out times seem to be as weird and as grave…

Let’s just hope (and keep fighting!) for Hillary to be the 44th President of the United States!

    • troll free zone

I freakin’ love Federalist #10. How wonderful to see someone quote it. It truly is one of the most brilliant things I have ever read.

Combine Federalist Paper #10 and De Toqueville’s
Democracy in America wherein De T says that the greatest threat to our democracy is from the mob and you have what goes on here in a nutshell.

      • Michelle

So, as long as we’re talking Federalist Papers – here’s a portion of Hamilton’s Federalist 68, which tells us how/why the Electoral College can work (and note – IS working for Hillary!) to prevent “unfit characters” from getting elected (http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/federal/fed68.htm):

The process of election affords a moral certainty, that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications. Talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity, may alone suffice to elevate a man to the first honors in a single State; but it will require other talents, and a different kind of merit, to establish him in the esteem and confidence of the whole Union, or of so considerable a portion of it as would be necessary to make him a successful candidate for the distinguished office of President of the United States.

  • spamccensor

Obama’s group is comprised of some of the most corrupt men and women in the WORLD, and they are trying to STEAL this nomination from Hillary.

    Don’t let them.

  • HillaryMadamePresident

Well, alright Susan and Susan’s Daughter! And as Gina would say…Booyah, Hillyeah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nicole

Absolutely precise, and beautifully said, Susan.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

Good for her. I used to have a terrible habit of having to placate others. Then, I’d be frustrated, because mean people win with people like me.

One day I read a Buddhist saying that pointed out that conflict actually is necessary in life and required for personal integrity.

    I grew a backbone.

Took time, but I’m not frustrated anymore. Like these wonderful non-political women (Check out the site Hired Heels……adorable!) who have gotten themselves to Washington to speak out, I like myself a whole lot more now that punks with a mean mouth don’t always win.

I am firm on one thing. Unity will come from the top or not at all. I certainly don’t intend to help the Democratic Party one bit this Fall. I don’t like our leaders right now. I don’t like Pelosi, Dean, Kerry, Kennedy, and I don’t even consider some of the surrogates to fall into the category of leaders….syncophants is more apropos.

I personally think this is the right conflict to not back away from, no matter what.

I truly do think the country depends upon it. People who voted with the best information they had at the time deserve to be treated respectfully. If the popular vote is so off-kilter with the delegates, then it’s wrong to insist that SDs NOT pay attention to voters and simply rubber-stamp the flawed and highly suspect caucus system. That insistence, pushed by party leaders, is inaccurate and wrong and not even why the SDs were created. They were created for exactly the opposte reason.

They have foisted a lie upon the public. It’s wrong. It’s as wrong as pushing a war on us through hints of weapons of mass destruction.

I, for one, believe there is a bigger principle being violated. The Democrats are behaving JUST LIKE THE REPUBLICANS.

Therefore, they have earned that paltry 18% approval rating.

And they deserve to all have to fight hard to even hold onto their seats.

Pelosi is up. I’m going to help her opponent. No more Emily’s list. It’s not enough to be a woman. No more false thinking of voting straight ticket.

    No more unity crap.

    • AF catfish

I think this generation does not understand conflict is healthy and necessary. Conflict is life, it’s necessary even for conception.

The unity crap feels so oppressive and offensive to me, it reminds me of the PATRIOT act and free-speech zones.

How is Obama going to get people to call for McCain to drop out before the G.E. the way he did to Hillary? He does this in the name of unity. It is so scary.

      • http://deleted AnninCa

I agree, but I can’t criticize that, either. I was middle-aged before I got it. My son is a spitting image of me.

Guess which person in the family pushes the unity idea.

However, here’s what I’ve noticed. He still sort of “tracks” me. When I change, he changes.

In a few years, he may not be so worried over conflict.

There are things worth conflicting over in life. That’s just the truth of the matter.

Even as a good Southern girl here, I’ve learned to knock off the sugar at times and get real. :)

I’ll never be as blunt-speaking as some, but actually……I have come to develop my own personal style of penetrating comments from time to time.

I like to think I hold my own. And this one?

What I see going on in Washington is a TRUE grass-roots movement, based on content, not on “Yes We Can” chants over empty rhetoric.

As usual, the Hillary supporters, even, are marching on substantive matters.

And we’re not going to be ignored. Well, actually, I think they will wall us out. But they’ll suffer the consequences, too.

We’re substantive. We mean it. And this isn’t just about Obama.

        It’s about THEIR seats.

    • Michelle

I just think that most of this younger generation was raised during the Bush “duct tape” on your mouth patriotism and the only thing they remember about the Clinton years – unfortunately – is Monica. They are scared of conflict and they are scared of legitimate differences of opinion. That is why SO many of them act like bullies on the Internet or violent characters in video games. They are passive in their lives, yet in their “imaginary” worlds all their held in rage seeps out.

But that is just my take on what I think is a very sad trend…and one that I’m hoping we can all do more to change – and heck, SusanUnPC’s daughter is sure evidence of CHANGE!

      • AF catfish

Yeah and Obama practices it. In Texas, campaign Obama is trying to push another woman off the ballot before it comes to a vote:

She said Shank politely told her that “if there was any way I could not run, it would be appreciated because they would like a convention without hurt feelings.”

But the woman didn’t drop out. She’s African American, and this made her think about changing her support to Hillary.

        • Lou

Hillary wins Texas. Obama gets more delegates
          Hillary 94
          Obama 98
          WTF?

    • Seattlemoss

The way the democrats run primaries and elections has shown me that they don’t have any idea how to run the country.

  • Dawnelle

I just heard an interesting tidbit from Craig’s Trail Mix

I didn’t know that what is behind “door number 3″ was even possible.

also the video right after this is an interview with a Senate superdelegate from PR (who is for Hillary)

He says they think perhaps a million voters will come out on the first!

    wooHOO!

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Really? Wow, I have to give up AP. They ran an article today about how people don’t care about the election because it’s over.

    • Michelle

Oh yeah – Door 3 is a good one! That is the one that forces the decision to go to the credential committee, which will not meet until about a month before the convention. And then, here’s the really cool thing about it – ANY decision the credential committee comes to MUST be voted on by the delegates at the convention itself! Oh yes, this is how convention “fights” begin – with floor votes on topics that are “unrelated” to the choice for nominee. Go HRC! See you in Denver!

  • tootsky

You all have to stop invoking white power. Cotnrary to some statements, the phrase was used in a previous thread, explicitly. There have been numerous displays of racist language.

Do I accuse you or the Clintons or anyone of racism? No. But you are insensitive – and especially insensitive in that you feel that people are insensitive in asking you to be sensitive.

You can argue til the cows come home who made the race about “race”…don’t blame me I’m a socialist and I supported Kucinich…but the kind of language you use is an offense to human dignity, I realize that its not about race, but if you can empathize with people who may see it in that fashion, then you’ll be a bigger human being than one who scoffs at “Obamatons”. Have your policy differences, feel free to shout them to the world. But don’t smear shit and be undignified and downright improper to any real political pratice…an offense that I count as my own and that of many many people, perhaps in a similar fashion to your perspective on the radical preachers (and you don’t mention Hillary’s cultish prayer breakfasts?). I realize that you are truly offended by all of these radical preachers, and I’m not gonna argue with your views, except to state that I personally think that if one were to judge most potential politicians by the company they kept, then very few decent heads of state would be elected. Rezko is sleazey, perhaps. Can you imagine the Kennedy election in the days of bloggers obsessive about associations “he knwos Sam Giancanna…he does speed … .his dad was a nazi!” Not that I like Kennedy, he was a thug wrongly lionized by sentimental liberals – but the point is that I feel bad, sincerely I do, for people who are excited about something and then their bubble is about to burst. I am sorry if any of my admitted trolling offended you. But think about what you’re doing and saying.

Grow up. You don’t want John McCain to continue the class war against working Americans.

And if your candidate gets the nomination, she’ll lose far worse than you can imagine. And we’ll have a wooly year.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

I know that talking about the racial aspects of this primary season is unpalatable. However, it is the one reason and the only reason which the SDs are not “allowed” to consider popular vote.

      You do get that, right?

The fact that this is as historical for women as it is for AA voters is dismissed as being “sore losers.”

We are, in fact, watching the public being told a lie. He will NOT be the legitimate winner, because he can’t reach the real threshhold. He’ll claim the nomination.

But it will be an empty win.

Why are the SDs doing this? Because, frankly, they have been threatened and believe (and are right, I agree) that blood in the street, as threatened directly by his surrogates, is worse than 10,000 women in high heels who are matter than a hatter.

So we have to discuss race to discuss this primary.

I disagree with Jeralyn at Talkleft over this very issue.

Yes, some hard feelings emerge. I think Ferarro nailed it. It’s not racism, but it darn sure is racial resentment.

Frankly, I do not think we’ll ever get PAST that if we continue to walk around it like the elephant in the living room. It’s real. It exists. We obviously have strong perspectives that differ widely.

      Let’s deal with it.

      • Seattlemoss

Candidates that are illegitimate never win.

Give Obama a prize he gamed the system but will lose in the greatest backlash in history.

Maybe then Fr Phleger can get job on PBS speaking to children about all the unity he espouses.

        • Skiron

No, he didn’t “game” the system. He was smart, he learned the rules, the arcane rules that the Hillary campaign in their infinite wisdom ignored (because they’d inevitably have the nomination wrapped up by Super Tuesday, or so they thought) and used them to his advantage.
He competed for delegates in every state, including ones Hillary thought weren’t important enough to waste time on. Not just the big marquee states like Cali, NY, etc.
And he didn’t waste money on greedy, conflict-of-interest consultants like Mark Penn. Obama ran a smart, lean, focused campaign. Hillary’s campaign was bloated, wasteful, and arrogant, which is why she now finds herself on the losing end of the nomination battle.

          • Karma

When you falsely smear other dems as racist….that is gaming the system.

When you bully voters at caucus’….that is gaming the system.

When you have to sue other more experienced dems off of the rolls….that is gaming the system.

Stealing the right of citizens to choose who they want to vote for…that is gaming the system.

The only way Obama has EVER won an election is by subverting democracy.

If that is fine with you….great.

I was raised to view the Constitutional right to vote differently, and it is shameful he is stealing that right from two states!

If I can’t trust him with the right to vote….why am I supposed to trust him with my other rights?

          • http://deleted AnninCa

This is where the true cynicism raises its head.

Hillary is held to standards that put people first. He is allowed to game the system.

And people like you admire his cynicism.

ugh……the sexism that is in this attitude cannot be captured and desribed. We rely upon blantant examples to make the point.

But so ugh*…..he’s admired for gaming. She must be “pure.”

Oh, I have lived a lifetime under THIS big tent umbrella.

I swear to dispute your unfair standards to my death.

Imagine that. This kind of insane thinking has ignited another uprising.

            Of the real sort.

            • jwrjr

I must disagree on one small point. What we get from Obama and his supporters is not cynicism. It is nothing more than self-serving bullsh*t.

Obama ran a smart, lean, focused campaign.

        1) he has no experience,
        2) he has some very questionable associates,
        3) he has no real plan for change that he can facilitate,
        4) he has never had to create and fight for a bill in any legislature in his life. He has been spoonfed every bill that has his name on it,
        5) he has no concept that this country is not a Democracy, that it is a Republic.
        and,
        6) HE DOESN’T REALLY LISTEN AND HE’S A MAN WHO TREATS HALF THIS COUNTRY WITH THE DISDAIN OF IGNORANT ARROGANCE.

Obama is not good presidential material, which is why if he runs, I will write Hillary’s name on my ballot, if I am sure that the vote will count
        for Hillary.

You are on the wrong blog. Your accusations need venting at daily Kos or Huffington post.

Check out the Chicago Sun Times tomorrow. Some story will break there on Obama I think related to this new preacher. I hope it’s a good one.
The reporter dropped the hint on Greta but refused to elaborate.
    hmmmm….

  • Seattlemoss

They need to know that this is America and we’re are not ready for a hostile takeover from Internationalists like George Soros

  • usedmeat

The obama camp followers want our bitter, racist, gun hugging votes? I thought this was the new politic. A politic that is going to do away with the hoodwinking racists. Why would they want to sully obama’s elevation to POTUS with the likes of us?
Could it be that they are not the new and pure but the same old same old using any means possible to attain their ends? Then they are hypocrites.
Or could it be that they didn’t really mean all the smears they put on Senator Clinton and the Americans who voted for her but were doing it to drive down her numbers? Then they are liars.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Usedmeat……that’s how I feel, too. The very arguments they used now take me off the hook.

I have no Democratic Party guilt.

      LOL*

      Or white guilt, either.

They pushed ME away. My grandfather was from Kansas. I grew up in Arkansas.

Now, they all had college degrees, but my roots are firmly planted in sensible thinking. We may be academics, but we’re not eggheads. I can’t stand eggheads, actually. College teaching is a job, just like any other job in life. So the phoo-phoo stuff leaves me scratching my head.

The problems facing us are real and must be address. What are they thinking? We’re going to push an entire class into poverty? And expect to survive?

It’s short-term greed thinking, in my opinion.

Here’s something to put in your pipe and smoke Obamaphiles!….

As I have said many times on this site, I am Apache and Mexican AMERICAN!
My Great Grandfather was among those put on the Train for Fort Sill with Geronimo! he escaped 2 years later and settled in Texas!

My GreatGrandmother fixed beans for Pancho Villa during the revolution in Mexico.

My People…The Apache…were abused, killed, land stolen, RAPED, etc. But you know what? Not One of my relatives has EVER denigrated this country! My Grandfather served in WW2. My father in Korea and Vietnam. I served in Grenada, and the Gulf War part 1. My brothers both served in GW2. and are on standby for deployment as we speak!
My nephews ALL served in the Marine Corps.
I who have the MOST to hate this country for, Love it to the core!
I don’t whine about what happened to my ancestors! What for? what is it going to get me? Not a damn thing!
I bleed RED WHITE AND BLUE!
This is OUR country and we ALL are in this great experiment called democracy!
I dont hold anyone alive today responsible for what happened in the past.

I resent anyone coming here and threating “ME”, “US” with your ACLU and such.
You exist to anger the shit out of us, that is your purpose for coming here.
If this is your idea of Uniting us….you have failed!

    • Seattlemoss

      Red Dragon..
      God Bless you!!

      You’re a great American!

    • jwrjr

America is supposed to be composed of people like Red Dragon. Where did we lose it?

      • http://deleted AnninCa

See, I think we haven’t lost it.

Look at the real grass roots happening.

The governor of WVA goes on TV to defend his state against the sliming that took place.

The polls show that Obama is tanking.

Even those flummoxed by blogosphere have found outlets that are reasonable. Granted, our T-shirts and U-tubes are not always the best…but they are heart-felt.

I will always agree with an editorial I read today. This has been as much about ageism as sexism.

Putting people as vibrant and experienced as Hillary out to pasture?

Oh goodness…….what a completely non-progressive thought that has proven to be.

Buckle up. It’s going to be even more insulting with McCain.

    • Lakota in GA

      AHO, RedDragon62,

It is as you say. Our native people have such pride in our country and have served over and over again in many arenas defending the USA. Thank you and your family for your great service for us all. You could have said, “Yes, this country owes us!” But you didn’t! You stood up, you defended us all, you served us all. We are grateful!

In my book.

    You nailed it !!

BTW you have a pretty smart daughter. Congrats Susan; you’ve done well !!

  • troll free zone

    Hey Susan,
I like the title: “Hey Mom, How Come All The Obama People Are Demanding Unity Mom”

It reminds of Raymond Carver’s book of short stories, “Will You Please Be Quiet, Please?”

Which is pretty much what I want to say whenever I see any of his idiot surrogates, or idiot wife, or idiot himself, or idiot syncophants.

I just want to say, “will you please be quiet, please.”

  • Cindy

Thank you to you and your daughter, Susan.
Over on bartcop.com he had a similar sentiment a couple of months ago. He said (I’m paraphrasing) that we HAD a great candidate (Hillary)just 6 months ago, who was strong and headed for victory! ……….then Obama and his followers felt HE should jump in and “unite” us!!!!

WAKE-UP Democrats! Barack X is unelectable in November. One third of all registered voters know he is a Black Muslim; 45 percent believe he is a political hack, saying whatever to get elected; over 50 percent of Democrats have voted against him and 35 percent say they will either vote for McCain or not at all in November; 67 percent of the states Barack X won in the primary/caucus are Republican states and will never go Democratic; he has now flip-flopped on each one of his positions and will be eaten alive by McCain and the Republican war room attack dogs; the caucus system is a joke with mostly college age punks and unemployed AAs who have nothing to do except usurp the will of hardworking Americans; and, as this nightmare reaches its final stage, we most all consider that Barack X is the most liberal senator in the US Senate. There is no way he can win with numbers like that. Do the MATH people! Bu, if the math alone wont convince you let it be known that Barack X has no plan or clue of how to follow-up with his rhetoric. He has pulled his speeches straight from the pages of JFK, MLK, RFK and the rest he stole from Hillary. He is a plagiarist and a thief. He is stealing this nomination from Hillary. He is a typical thug stealing what does not belong to him. Hillary can win. She is a winner. We must have a Democratic president for the sake of all Americans.

“Unity” is Obamaspeak for “stop supporting Clinton and vote for me.”

    • Cindy

      Exactly!!!!

      • Skiron

“That in fact DISunity is what makes this country greater than most.”

I agree. I think Obama and Clinton should keep fighting for the nomination all the way to the convention. Hell, disunity is so awesome, we should keep them out there campaigning, cutting each other down all the way to November. McCain will be elected in a landslide, ensuring 4 more years of Bush style policies, sure, but hey…disunity!

    • so saddened

precisely. mr and mrs unity weren’t so sanguine when they weren’t sure of the nomination. then they were saying things like i’m sure her supporters would vote for me but i don’t know if my supporters would vote for her (mr unity) and i don’t know if i’d vote for her,,,,her tone,,,etc. (mrs unity).

it’s easy to (pretend to) be gracious when you’re winning.

we’ll see how (faux) gracious they are when they lose worse than mcgovern in november.

Your daughter is a perceptive young woman. This “unity” strongarming feels so much like “you’re either with us or you’re a terrorist.” I may go to the polls in November but it will only be to vote for a Democrat who is running for Congress and who ran to be a pledged delegate for Hillary at the caucuses I attended. Oddly enough, he used to be a Republican.

    Another Obama endorsement!
Joining the ranks of William Ayers, FARC, Hamas, and a motley crew of commies, tyrants, and commie tyrants, Fidel Castro (apparently still living…who knew?) has chimed in with some carefully-phrased non-endorsement endorsement for Barack Obama:

…he calls Barack Obama “the most advanced candidate” in the race. (That’s the English translation as provided by Associated Press and Reuters; the Granma English-language site translates his characterization as “this strong candidate.” The article in the original Spanish is here.)

“I feel no resentment towards him, for he is not responsible for the crimes perpetrated against Cuba and humanity,” Castro wrote. “Were I to defend him, I would do his adversaries an enormous favor.”

  • pm317

Anglachel wrote a beautiful essay called Legitimacy not Unity. Obama if he becomes the nominee is not legitimate and therefore, the difficulties in bringing together the two factions. He is the affirmative action candidate for whom rules were broken and pushed through the gauntlet for the nomination with race being his biggest advantage and a stronger and better qualified candidate forcibly marginalized. TM wrote today how McCain was tactically winning on Iraq and this stuttering fool of a candidate cannot even put together a forceful response to McCain’s taunts. I was just thinking about how Clinton would have cleaned McCain’s clock. This is all too depressing and people get the government they deserve.

  • Clinton Fan

I remember a bunch of asshats telling me that I HAD to be UNIFIED. They said “Get over it” and “move on.”

Then they said “The terrists attacked us, so there won’t be ANY criticism of Bush! We HAVE to be unified.”

Fuck that shit. I LIKE criticizing. You can make me take off my shoes, poke me, prod me, wave a wand at me, toss my skivvies in the air looking for Christ knows what, but you aren’t gonna shut me up. Speaking your mind is good. It’s what our country was founded on.

They play that “unity” game in China, except for the rare odd dissident who stands in front of a tank and who didn’t get the word. They don’t seem too happy over that way, do they?

Screw unity. Unity works for me with Clinton at the top of the ticket.

A British journalist has warned that the sexism displayed in this race will come back to bite us all. I agree with him.

If the female running was not Clinton I would still be appalled by the things I’ve heard and seen. Ferraro makes a good spokesperson because she’s been there. I remember that she was called the same names. That she was told to go back to the kitchen.

So things have gotten little better in this country as far as a woman seeking the Presidency goes. I believe that it transcends ethnic groups and seems to be quite pervasive in American society. It going to take more than one Presidential election to heal these wounds. I wish the Democratic leadership could see that.

    TeakWoodKite Says:

    Saint Sabina and…

    Hon. Alex Giannoulias,
    Martin Nesbitt
is Obama closet friend…so now what?

So this Broadway Bank made a loan to SunCruz Casinos ala Jack Abramoff?

The Bank is known as a Cuthroat Bank, not a happy community oriented bank, the Greeks circled the wagons for one of their own but in reality did not have a lot of love behind the scenes because of high risk loans, foreclosures, taking over businesses etc. The dad was the cuthroat not Alexi to be fair but also that means that Alexi had little experience in running the bank.

Banking with crime figures: In 2006, Obama endorsed and appeared in campaign commercials for Alex Giannoulias, a banker who ran for Illinois state treasurer. Obama backed Giannoulias despite reports that his family-owned Broadway Bank made loans to bookmakers, prostitution rings and to other crime figures. “Records show Giannoulias and his family had given more than $10,000 to Obama’s campaign, which banked at Broadway.” an article in the Chicago Tribune stated.

The Myrtle Beach loan went to a Giorango-run company called Highland Park Real Estate Development Corp. Giorango was the Highland Park company’s president and Stavropoulos was its vice president, Horry County, S.C., land records show. “From a commercial standpoint, it looked like a loan that should be made,” Giannoulias said, adding he was unaware the marina was used to dock a SunCruz Casinos riverboat. Broadway Bank’s 28-page mortgage agreement, which is filed with that county’s register of deeds, notes that Giorango’s company had a 10-year lease with Ocean Casino Cruises Inc., the company that owns and operates the SunCruz line. The SunCruz company has made frequent headlines. Its founder, Greek immigrant Konstantinos “Gus” Boulis, was gunned down in 2001. Just a few months earlier, Boulis had sold SunCruz to a group headed by Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

We have to stand up for our rights, democracy demands no less. If we just sit idly by, we are no better the likes of Dean and Pelosi in not denouncing the sexism of this campaign season. Stand up for your rights, and stand up for your country.
