Barack Obama’s Intimate Confidante Father Pfleger Delivered a Second Sermon Last Sunday

Apparently last Sunday, Father Michael Pfleger — the fiery liberal activist and longtime friend and associate of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois — gave another sermon mentioning the Clintons disparagingly, in addition to the one he gave at Obama’s (now former) church.

At his own church, St. Sabina’s, Pfleger said, "Hillary and McCain would wish they had a preacher with the integrity of Jeremiah Wright. … They got some old weak preacher…some old Joel Osteen cotton candy preacher." …

You know, these two men have been VERY close for over 20 years in inner city Chicago. Obama has personally gotten Fr. Pfleger, his church and charities hundreds of thousands of dollars of government money. Pfleger has also donated to Obama’s political campaigns.

AND GUESS WHO was in the audience the day that Rev. Jeremiah Wright spoke at the National Press Club?! Why, Father Pfleger. Greta Van Susteran has mentioned seeing Fr. Pfleger there several times in her coverage of Fr. Pfleger’s shocking sermons. Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times confirms that Pfleger was present during Wright’s embarrassing rants at the National Press Club.

And ONE MUST ASK why a Catholic priest — whose church forbids any political statements and endorsements — TWICE last Sunday (May 25, 2008) speak in front of THOUSANDs of parishioners at both Trinity and at his own St. Sabina about his dear, dear friend and benefactor, Barack Obama?

Why would a Catholic priest risk the condemnation of his archdiocese and even the Vatican (which is now aware of the two men’s longterm relationship and their support for each other throughout the years)?

    Father Phleger is a profligate, a miscreant and a misogynist pig who should be defrocked. I would suspect the man has multiple personality disorder. His behavior warrants greater investigation by a team of psychiatrist who specialize in serious mental disorders.

    He should be quarantined because his condition is mentally contagious which has been witnessed by his audiences.

    May he be made into an anal, pin cushion.

    Perhaps because he’s not the brightest bulb in the package? Apparently, he’s gotten away with this behavior for years. Gotta wonder though, about that sexism and hatred for women. No wonder he chose the priesthood.

    I think he would take the risk because there is not much risk there. I found a resume of sorts of Fr Pfleger on the internet (I don’t have a link), but I think he has been at St Sabina for decades, if I remember correctly from the 1970s. The apparently mostly black parish appears to be his personal fiefdom. Most bishops in the Catholic hierarchy have not been known for their firm positions on anything in the last 40 years or so. I would imagine his parishioners would have to demand his removal or sanctions or whatever and they are not going to do that.

    In any case, his behavior is very unusual for a Catholic priest in good standing.

    The question that I have is why would Fr Pleger make these degrading, incendiary, disgusting comments about Hillary when he should have a pretty good idea that the word is going to get out. Is he totally disconnected from reality or did he have some ulterior motive?

    I am willing to bet large sums of money that most Catholics are not positively impressed in the slightest by his rantings.

    So what’s he up to indeed?

      I think it was all set up so they could give Obamarhoid an excuse to leave the church.

      Pfleger is very well known here. He’s SO “out there” he is constantly on the Chicago News. He got away with this political stuff BECAUSE of where he lives…Chicago. I do believe, if memory serves me well, Pfleger was to be transferred to another Parish and he refused to go. Refused to leave. Cardinal George caved in and let Pfleger have his way. That was back in 2002?? Maybe?

      Anyway, my guess is, Obamarhoid wanted an excuse to quit the church and Pfleger obliged him. If that Michelle tape is coming out, and he knows it, he needed to put more space between him and that hateful church. Like that even matters at this point?

It scares me though, who are we if this is the process now in getting a president elected? read the nader article in wsj online, he goes after the ultimate culprit; corportate dominance of everything and obama is part of all of it. he’s no progressive. interesting read. I agree with you totally on your point that Obama is everything that has been exposed about him, he just has the luxury of having a great machine behind him to save his ass every time. Out of nowhere indeed, groomed for the position etc.

        He may be some sort of stealth fascist candidate but what is amazing that he has almost the the entire “progressive/liberal” community on his side.

        The people that typically scream bloody murder about corruption, abuse of gov’t powers, sleazy crooked candidates, sexism, racism, etc. Yet here they are supporting a man whose ties to shady businessmen and Middle-eastern thugs, ex-terrorists, WallStreet, uses Reagan as a role model,etc, stuff that would make any other Democrat radioactive.

        That part is baffling to me. Why would progressives go into league with a man who wouldn’t talk to them if they didn’t have a couple of grand to buy a audience with him?

        Do nutroot asshats like Kos, Sirota and Marshall really think that Barry will reward them for promoting him like he’s the second coming? well if they are, they can wait in line with Barry’s original constituents in Chicago.

        On a more personal note Barky scares me. There is so much background data on the him that points to him having a intense hatred toward the U.S. and west in general, then you have all of those racist, hate filled ministers he’s friends with and those endorsements from Castro, Hamas, Chavez and Iran; I can’t help but feel he’d open the flood gates of hell if he could.

        He has to be stopped.

          I think I finally understand – what many in the left were bitching about when they were complaining about the Dems not standing up the Pubs, was about access and privilege. Some of us mistakenly thought it was about policy – I thought Josh Marshal was interested in Democrats defending progressive principles. What I think now is that they saw Democrats ceding power and money to the right, that they wanted – and that’s what they were objecting to. I think a lot of people on the left were looking for the opportunity to be as corrupt as the people on the right. The cloaked their ambitions in a cool, urbane, Technocratic Stevensonian model but it was still simply the power they were after and they formed an allegiance with the working class to get there. The problem being that they didn’t get all the way there before they started wanting all the insider privileges. And maybe our power beasts understand better than the power beasts of the right, the necessity to keep the middle class strong and educated everyone if you want a prosperous society – but they are still looking to prosper from their insider connections and that’s what Obama offers them. That’s what’s they always wanted, I think – is for Pelosi and Reid to stand up to the Republicans, take the keys to DC away from the right and leave the left free to make a killing with defense contracting deals and whatnot. Oh, and please, turn media commentary over to Marshall, Kos, etc so they can be the new movers and shakers.

    I think what bothers me the most was that he dragged Joel Osteen into this and pretty much denigrated him. I am not religious but I do appreciate those who are committed to the real Word and actually teach the bible as intended. From my impression Osteen is a terrific preacher and my wife absolutely adores him. Pfleger should be defrocked, decommissioned or whatever the Roman Catholic Church does with these guys.

    Father Phleger cannot be a priest any longer–this is too much to take. He keeps attacking Hillary, and inciting racial hatred toward whites, and he is politcking at the pulpit. He calls for an owner of a gun store to be chased down like a rat, and “snuffed.”—He is also preaching black liberation theology, and not catholicism.

    We need to get rid of him.

    Trinity United Church of Christ services are shown at 7:30 AM Sunday mornings on TV1. Jeremiah Wright, Otis Moss III and now Phleger form a terrific comedy team and in fact should be broadcast on the Comedy Channel between the Chappelle Show and Southpark.
    The most entertaining part of the program occurs when the hymn-chanting, hand -clapping, bible-waving simpletons of the congregation perform the American Bandstand routine after evewry crazy outburst by the sacred men of the cloth.
    That Obama attended this circus for 20 years shows that both he and his wife are race-bating lunkheads and should be disqualified from not only the Presidency but any public office.

    Maybe the Fr Pfleger thing is orchestrated as the Wright thing was, to give Obama an out. A way to distance himself further before more information comes out. It’s the perfect way to end the dialogue when he is able to say I already stated I have no connection to it.

    I’m inclined to agree. You do not help us or Hillary by implying something is wrong with the LGBT community. I read, unverified, Obama recently attending a meeting where there was gay bashing going on. He did and said nothing according to the report. So all in the LGBT community supporting him look at the company he keeps. You would for any other politician. But SusanUPC you know he doesn’t support them and do not imply he’s part of that community without proof. You wouldn’t use the black or Jewish or any other community to excoriate him. Please don’t use the gay community either. His misdeeds are enough.
