And did you catch the stats: we’ve dismissmed 59 Arabic speaking servicemen/women and nine people fluent in Farsi. We’re dead in the water without people who can speak the language. Not to mention kicking out stellar candidates for sexual orientation but lowering standards and accepting felons [at least in the past]. That really worked!!

It makes no sense. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. These policy positions get dumber as time goes by.

Let’s face it. Obama is “just words.”

Each soldier that is removed from the battlefield whether by a tragic death or a stupid removal based on sexual orientation just makes accomplishing our mission that much longer and harder and puts more soldiers at risk. Completely unacceptable.

It is brilliant, though, to force Obama to DO something already besides talk, talk, talk.

You may recall that Obama had a big meeting recently with a bunch of LGBT groups to tell them how, despite all appearances to the contrary, he really ISN’T homophobic, and really WILL do something for our community SOME day…I haven’t seen ANYTHING that has come out of that meeting besides more talk and procrastination. That’s all he is – “words, just words.”

I was pretty surprised that Alcee Hastings was so outspoken. Good for him. I hope he walks around with a mirror so he can watch his back…

The thing is most people have family members who are gay — even the most rabid gay haters have family members who are gay. Stereotypes used against gays just don’t make sense.

This is the logical approach.

AS Commander in Chief 0zero can order the current stupidity to stop. Truman ordered racism to STOP. I grew up on fully integrated military bases and I we always had people of color for neighbors. THIS was because Truman was a class act! It turns out that my father was a racist — but he never ever made a racist remark or acted like a racist — because he followed the orders of his CiC. He would not tolerate any racism from the men in his command — again because of the LEADERSHIP of Truman, and all the other CiC he had during his long military career.

Since 2/3rds of the American people back the open inclusion of gays in the military, this action is not hazardous politically and should be taken care of right away. Get with the program, President Obama.

That would seem to include some GOP. So why not take action?

Do you think he is afraid this will give credence to the tabloid stories? Is that why gays in politics who haven’t come out take the most anti-gay positions?

No more hiding, or waffling.
