TNR Fellates Obama

(Bumped up from Saturday evening.)

The New Republic discovers a new way to get that tingle running up and down their magazine leg as they take their sexual fantasy about Barack Obama to crazier extremes. Check this out:

Whether he is shaping the White House’s message on Iran, or personally cajoling Asian leaders to crack down on North Korea, or brokering power deals among NATO allies, Obama has, in effect, been his own national security advisor and secretary of state. Unlike Bill Clinton or George W. Bush, who had world events thrust upon them, Obama seems to be more in the mold of Richard Nixon or George H.W. Bush–a president involved in foreign policy because of, not in spite of, his priorities and personal interest. “He’s very engaged, very hands-on,” says his longtime foreign policy adviser, Mark Lippert, now chief of staff at the National Security Council (NSC).

WTF!!!??? Obama “shaping” messages? What drugs are these clowns using?

Are they describing the same silly Obama who refused initially to say anything about Iranian protestors being murdered in the streets of Tehran? Is Michael Crowley writing about the same reckless Obama who pontificates on stupid police in Cambridge without taking time to get facts? The same shameless pandering Obama who genuflected before a Saudi Prince and yucked it up with Hugo Chavez?

Ready for another laugh? Michael Crowley not only swigs the kool-aid. Hell he makes up a batch.

In the normal course of Washington events, the creation of talking points often involves several aides, who bicker and rewrite for hours until they’ve come up with a simple message for their boss. In the Bush administration, that process might have been perverted so that the vice president was telling his nominal boss what to say. But the Obama administration apparently operates differently. Rather than calling in his top foreign policy aides or formulating a stance that advanced his own agenda, Biden turned directly to Barack Obama. “The vice president said, ‘What do you want me to say?’ And the president and the vice president sat down and did them together,” explains a senior White House aide. “And then they presented them to us.”

Joe Biden may have loose lips and lack political discipline but he is no fool when it comes to foreign policy. Yet Michael Crowley, the TNR writer, peddles the hilarious notion that Biden, who is one of the most experienced politicians when it comes to foreign policy, seeking the advice of this inexperienced kid from Hawaii who failed to hold a single hearing during his brief stint on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee?

Crowley’s act of political sexual submission before the altar of Obama worship is but one more reminder of the hackery that has immolated what once was a serious magazine. I don’t know about you but I find Crowley’s deep throating of Obama is embarrassing and shameful. It is one thing for a state media in the old Soviet Union or the current North Korea to fawn over their “dear” leaders. But this cult of hero worship of Obama the Messiah is wearing thin. Decider my ass!

  • Carlaforhillary

Larry, these “paid” writers are preparing for whoever is running against Obama in 2012. Crowley offers no specifics of what Obama has done, but makes sure that he dimishes Hillary’s role as SOS as non-existent. Or anyone’s role besides Obama’s non-existent for that matter.

God help us all. And I don’t even believe in God.

  • Mandelay

Do you think SOS Clinton will break away from this mess?

  • http://shhhithitsthefan.wordpress.com/ It hits the fan

Perhaps this was written as satire? Because in-between my disgust I am laughing my ass off at the notion that Obama is a hands on anything except his ego. The funniest part was Biden getting lessons on foreign policy from The One. I imagine even the Democrats are embarrassed by the notion.

You forgot to mention Obama’s position on Zelaya of Honduras. A regular genius of foreign policy. Yep, that be him.

  • OxyCon

Basically Obama likes to lecture everyone about all subjects because he’s an arrogant man who thinks he knows everything, yet is ill informed in many cases. That’s what Crowely has hit up upon, but isn’t swift enough to figure it out.
The American public is beginning to catch on though, as people tire of being lectured to after awhile.

  • Jack

“Whether he is shaping the White House’s message on Iran,”

The writer knows in the back of his mind that Obama changed positions on Iranian situation from public pressure and leak in New York Times that Hillary and Biden wanted stronger message made.

The use of the imperfect tense, shaping, suggests movement, all the while sounding to the uninitiated that Obama is leading something, rather than reacting.

  • yttik

“Obama seems to be more in the mold of Richard Nixon or George H.W. Bush…”

LOL, and they say that like it’s a good thing??! I could of sworn Obama was supposed to be the messiah of all liberals, the progressive savior, etc, etc. How does that reconcile with comparing him to Bush Sr and Nixon?

  • yttik

“Obama has, in effect, been his own national security advisor and secretary of state….”

LOL, Lord help us all if that was true! Thankfully those positions are being handled by a couple of adults.

  • carol haka

I’m sure Hillary needs excellent medication to keep from running from the room screaming and ripping her hair out by the roots!

This President is a puppet, with many hands up his ass.
    The way he likes it.
For any reporter to claim that this man runs anything proves how deeply the media is in cahoots with this Dictator.

Larry, you are former CIA. Why hasn’t the CIA done their job an exposed this fraud?

I feel like the lady who sold her TV’s so she wouldn’t have to see this putrid liar’s face on the screen anymore.

    Sickening. Just Sickening.

  • Patrick Henry

    Exactly Jack..
Its the same way Obama Talks..with a Clever manipulation of Words..never admitting mistakes, and going public saying the same things he was criticized for saying in the first place but in new and more clever and insulting ways..

Like he just did over the Professor Gates incident..and His Beer garten PR Stunt..

    Manipulation..

Never admitting he was wrong…just using clever words that leave the IMPRESSION ..or ILLUSION that
He Could have said or done things differently..but all The While Unifying His Position with his Cadre.

He is an ARTIST at being a Master of B.S.and hiding himself behind His SMILE..which is his Mask..

Like the Phantom of the OPERA..

Like another guy named Adolph, Barack Obama can Mesmerize, Manipulate, Manufacture, Morf, Master
and Motivate..Until He Gains Complete Control..

His Mentors long ago saw that potential in Barack..
and Groomed and Cultivated Natural Talent by placing him into several Arenas and Circles and Spheres of Influence until he was TWEAKED..

Go Back and look at All the People and Groups and Thinking that Back Obama..

Then they Financed His Candidacy..and Kaboom..

The Robert Redford movie comes to life..

There are Schoools in the Art of Manipulation..and deceit..

    CHARM SCHOOLS..

    Obama has Mastered them All…

What you SEE is NOT what you get..

It may be a Promise of a Volkswagon in every Garage today.. but I think Obama will have his Stalingrad Moment..

Right after the Work and butter run out for the American people..

Larrys right On..if I am a Sharpshooter, its because Larry is A Straight Shooter..and Just like the TEAMS..He knows How to get the JOB Done..

    TEAMWORK..TEAMWORK…TEAMWORK…

I will be glad to Cover Larrys Back and be HIS Spotter, any time..

    Thanks Larry, for NO QUARTER…

The article can’t be anything else but pure satire.

  • Carlaforhillary

    Wow, great point.

  • Carlaforhillary

I have no idea, but I would love it if she finished up her creds, then “quit” to run for president.

  • socalannie

Great post, Larry! Love your style. Truly no quarter.

  • Benjamin

Nixon and Obama are quite similar, I think. But I’ll give the nod to Obama as being more corrupt.

  • http://www.DailyPUMA.com Alessandro Machi

I’m assuiming that Biden has already said enough questioanable things that he knows to now ask before he tells.

But the article is still an embarrassment.

Any President who so loves Jamie Dimon of Chase Bank is not who he says he is.
We seem to be finding that to be the case more and more everyday.

  • Mandelay

LOL! You mean there’s medication for this?

  • gianni

My God, Crowley is a buffoon. “His own secretary of state”? What a fucking idiot! Crowley, Hillary Clinton runs rings around Obama in every meaningful area of governance and policy. Every one! You are a pathetic sycophant and lapdog for Obama. Just pathetic. Hannity was right about at least one thing: journalism died in 2008 and it is still dead with their glorification and sanctification of Obama Messiah.

Prez Obama does get the spotlight. Sort of comes with the job, like the airplane and cool crib. But policy? Biden, Panetta, Hillary Clinton, etc, the pros, are setting the policy and the agenda. Hillary and Biden know almost every world leader and key
decision makers around the globe. The Prez posses for pictures while the real work is done behind the camera.

We can hope and there is some who believe that Prez Obama will be bored of the job by 2012 and not seek a 2nd term. YEAH!!!!!

`Mine is a long and a sad tale!’ said the Mouse, turning to Alice, and sighing.
`It IS a long tail, certainly,’ said Alice, looking down with wonder at the Mouse’s tail; `but why do you
call it sad?’ And she kept on puzzling about it while the Mouse was speaking, so that her idea of the
    tale was something like this:–
    `Fury said to a mouse,
That he met in the house,
“Let us both go to law: I will
    prosecute YOU. –Come,
    I’ll take no denial; We
    must have a trial: For
really this morning I’ve nothing to do.”
Said the mouse to the cur, “Such a trial,
dear Sir, With no jury or judge,
    would be wasting our breath.”
“I’ll be judge, I’ll be jury,”
    Said cunning old Fury:
    “I’ll try the whole cause,
    and condemn you to death.”‘

    Gooooood Benjamin :-)

I love it when writers engage in unintended irony. This guy’s head is so far up Obama’s ass he can’t see he just compared his idol to the “worst” president in history, as judged by most people living today. I think this may prove prophetic. Ha ha. I always said that about Bush too when he hired Nixon cronies.

O/T But speaking of unintended irony, an AP writer wrote a story yesterday about the dirth of Sarah Palin news since she left office, LOL. Do these writers have NOTHING to do but obsess about Sarah Palin and blow Obama’s dick?

Incidentally, I was quoted in that article (I post over at conservatives4palin.com). So that was hilarious. I said it was smart for Sarah to “go dark.”

Meanwhile, can the press give Hillary some more credit? This woman is the only adult in the adminstration.

On Iran, Obama was merely re-calibrating … you know, fancy talk for backtracking.

There is something instinctively smelly when the press and its coharts keep writing this crap. Do they think we are that stupid. THe man is an idiot. His foreign policy did not adapt when things changed in Iran overnight. HE stinks, thats the real thing, a PResident must be able to adapt when things change quickly. He has been spoon feed this diplomacy by the puppeteers and he can regurgitate them, but he can’t do a thing when things change overnight. He must wait for their supreme guidance to figure out what to say or think.
Hillary said as much when she gave a speech at the CFR. Oh BTW, they have a new office near the WH to make sure the usurper does what he is supposed to.

roflmao Oh my, how embarrassing for Crowley. Even if he thinks he will be put in the good graces of the Empty one, putting his pen in hand writing as he bends over grasping his ankle with his left hand, to show he too has a gift at writing what ever claims they wish to paint the presidenot Obama in a totally different light from reality.

How can the guy look honestly at himself even, let alone knowing when others catch a glimpse of him. I guess this was his final attempt at getting a gig with the W H, like so many other reporters…and the most recent from Newsweek, who shows they have a gift for fiction and comedy at the same time.

  • apishapa

Obama is carrying on with the same policies he criticized Bush for. Still in two wars, and adding a third soon, Guantanamo still there, still refusing rights to prosoners, still threatening to cut off intelligence if Britain releases evidence of torture, still wiretapping citizens. He is of course expanding on all of those policies, maybe that his how they become his own ideas. Government secrecy -now we like it. Kill SCHIP wonderful.

THis man has never had an origina idea in his life. Unfortunately he is stealing ideas from the most evil administration in history.Every damned thing. He is not Bush Lite. He is Cheney on steroids.

    Anti-Czar bill introduced
    Thomas Lifson

It isn’t getting a lot of media attention and with the Democrats’ majorities in the House and Senate, it is probably doomed, but for the sake of the memory of our Constitution, somebody had to do it. From the Benton Country (Arkansas) Daily Record:

H.R. 3226, the Czar Accountability and Reform Act of 2009, would bar the use of appropriated funds to pay either expenses or salaries of members of task forces, councils, or similar offices established by the president and headed by a person appointed inappropriately to such a post without Senate advice and consent.

The bill is sponsored by Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Ga. And co-sponsored by Rep. John Boozman, R-Ark. To his everlasting credit, Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, who, for all his faults is a keen student of history, has also been raising objections to the Czar madness that has gripped the Democrats and their media lapdogs. If a Republican president had tried to grab unaccountable power in this manner, there would be a firestorm.

Look the members of his administration and the media know the score… Obama and his staff are so ruthlessly political, the only game is pay to play.</strong Either you extend compliments of excellence and leadership to Obama, give him credit for things Obama doesn’t actually do, demonstrate devout loyalty, or you are out of his administration, or, if you are in the media, you no longer have exclusive access and an occasional lead.

So petty and resentful are Obama, Axelrod and Emanuel that whenever Hillary demonstrates her wonky command of the facts and communicates with such competence and ease, Obama’s team seeks to protect the ego-wounded president and calls in the favors for pieces to be written that boast of the wonders of Obama and put Hillary in a duller light.

This last week Michael Crowley and Anne Applebaum, as well as others at the LA Times, were called upon to pay their dues and show their deference, for the reward of exclusive access, and allowed to collaborate with senior White House aides on articles that must emphasize three messages:

    1) Obama is doing leaps and bounds better than his predecessor Bush and his predecessor rival, Bill Clinton;

    2) that it is Obama that actually writes the speeches and talking points because he is the only one who can synthesize the perfection of the message; and

    3) there must be a petty jab directed at Hillary to knock her down a notch or two for mismanaging her presidential campaign or other such nonsense to remind readers why he is the president.

I never thought a loyalty bubble could be bigger than the loyalty bubble that surrounded Dubya, a bubble that did not serve this nation well nor did it serve Bush well, and yet now evidence points to a massive bubble to prop up the narcissistic Obama in the same unfortunate way. Obama has a massive staff, including more than 30 czars, all of whom read and digest the intelligence and reports, and repackage it for Obama’s easy consumption, cognizant that they must be careful in presenting their summaries so as not to emasculate Obama in the process.

Obama is a celebrity figurehead, trotted out for photo ops and to read a speech from a teleprompter. In return Obama gets to pretend he is one of the greatest presidents, Michelle gets to pretend she is the finest first lady, they get to have parties, he gets to shoot hoops, work on his fast ball and gutter ball, and on regular occasions take vacations. Yes, Obama takes pride that he is the decider with the best health care of anyone in the world, and he lives in an especially nice white house.

What I found most sickening and creepy is the threat-filled mantra ” regular order is your friend,” this from the corrupt pay to play team from Chicago.
