More Thoughts…

Foreword by SusanUnPC: Here is our second “guest rant” by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy whose blog is Rabble Rouser Ruminations.

And Venting. I still cannot believe that the FAR less qualified candidate is the one that was shoved down our throats by the media, and the DNC elite (or former elite, in terms of people like Daschle, who could NOT swing SD into Obama’s win column! No one in the media has mentioned this, but Obama had himself WINNING SD by 15%. That’s a swing of over 25%, for those of you keeping score. What does THAT tell you?!?!).

I cannot believe the way they have gamed the entire primary for him, how they dealt with FL and MI, how they did NOT deal with the NUMEROUS reports of wrong-doing by Obama’s people in the caucus states, and how they piled onto BOTH Bill and Hillary. The race-baiting by Obama, the MSM, and the DNC, was horrendous, and unforgivable.

The sexism, though, for me, is what allowed me to quit the Party. I admit – I must have been naive to think things were better for women than they clearly are. What I saw was not just latant sexism, but raw MISOGYNY exposed from the media, especially, as well as the DNC, and Obama’s supporters (who have gone WAY beyond the pale in their misogynistic rants on Clinton). It was, and is, staggering.

They treated this incredibly accomplished woman as if she was some pesky little fly the menfolk just couldn’t get rid of, who just kept hanging around. As if she was an uninvited guest to their primary games. The attempts to push her out since FEBRUARY were just ABSURD, never mind that she ended up the Popular Vote winner, winning MORE votes than ANY primary candidate EVER. EVER.

And, if the RBC had not acted completely immorally and unethically by stealing her votes, and giving votes to Obama he did not earn, she would be in the race, still. But that was the point, see – to make sure she COULD NOT WIN. Obama, on the other hand, has limped across the finish line set up by his handlers. Clinton has won far more of the primary contests over the past four months, not that the DNC or the MSM seem to care about THOSE pesky facts, and would be far closer to the necessary delegates needed had the RBC not stolen her votes AND her delegates…

Just as an example, and a tip of the hat to Big Tent Democrat at TalkLeft for pointing this out, when Reagan was running against Ford, a sitting president, the nomination went to the Convention EVEN THOUGH Ford had both the popular vote lead, and enough delegates. You read that right – the fight went to the Convention EVEN THOUGH Ford was ahead in both categories. And, as we all know, Kennedy took HIS fight to the Convention floor even though HE was down over 700 delegates. So, even though NEITHER Clinton nor Obama could reach the goal line without the aid of the Superdelegates, Clinton was SHOVED out of the door, insulting her 18 million supporters along with her.

Frankly, we have all been treated like shit by the DNC, the MSM, and the Obamatrons, who, I might add, are the most ungracious winners I have ever seen. It is EXACTLY like dealing with Bush Republicans. They continue to attack, attack, attack Clinton supporters, not realizing, I guess, that they cannot win without us. And without accepting that many of us will NEVER vote for this incredibly arrogant, flawed, inexperienced, sexist, homophobe they are propping up. Never.

So, once again, the Democrats seem to have managed to grab certain defeat out of the mouth of a certain win. Many of us have left the Party as a result of Clinton’s treatment (including my almost 78 yr old mother, a Democrat snce the Sixties, who told me today that she is changing her registration to Independent because of the way the Party has acted. She said she has NEVER seen anything like this before… By the way, there is a movement afoot to have people change their registration on June 10, as it is the anniversary of Michigan giving women the right to vote in 1919.).

Most certainly, the validity of Obama’s coronation is tarnished as a result of the sexism that helped him mightily from the get-go, but CERTAINLY with the delegate/vote-stealing. There is no doubt about that.

And see, this isn’t about sour grapes that our candidate didn’t win. I didn’t support Kerry at ALL, but voted for him in 2004. No, this is about how the DNC has treated its core base, women, and working class voters. But, hey – Donna Brazile says the New DNC doesn’t even NEED those working class voters anymore, so I reckon THEY are free to leave, too. Especially though, as a woman, I have reached my point.

I will not support this incredibly sexist, inexperienced man over the FAR more qualified woman, and I sure as HELL won’t support an organization that engages in such systematic sexism, even misogyny. So, just to be clear – this isn’t about the candidate per se, but about the treatment of women, the group that has historically held the Democratic Party together.

Many people say, hey, there’s always 2012, but I cannot IMAGINE what they think will change in this country in four short years. Hell, we cannot even get the Equal Rigths Amendment passed NOW, and much less with the sexists we have in there, even in four years. I mean, really – are all of the blatant misgoynists at MSNBO and CNN all of a sudden going to have an epiphany?? Are all of the sexist members of the DNC (including Congressional members) going to have an epiphany and change their ways? No. They will find some other man to run, denigrate Clinton again (should she decide to run again, and frankly – she IS the most qualified woman on the Democratic side), and sexism will be on display for all to see. With no remorse, mind you, which is another piece of this horrible puzzle. (Go back and read the article about sexism in this race written by a British journallist – truer words and all that…) They don’t GIVE A SHIT that their sexism is on display. Goddess forbid ANYONE be considered a racist, but a Sexist? Or even a Misogynist? Well, hell yeah – that’s just about WOMEN, after all, so who give’s a shit?!?! Not the DNC, that’s for sure. And that’s why I don’t give a shit about them anymore, either.

I am saddened by the treatment of Hillary Clinton, a woman for whom my admiration has grown exponentially during this process. I am surer now than I was when I first started to support her that SHE is the most qualified Democrat running for president, and that her far lesser accomplished candidate, someone with whom McCain has already had negative engagements dating back to Feb. 2006, is “promoted” over her by the DNC (and ONLY the DNC – the people made THEIR choice CLEAR), well, it says a lot about the DNC, and none of it good.

So, I am in mourning that the one big chance to have a Democratic woman elected president has been squashed completely. The reality is, the first woman president of THIS country will likely be a Republican. Seriously. It is ironic that the Republicans actually seem to have more respect for their women senators than the Democrats do, but it does seem true. What an indictment that is on The People’s Party. What an indictment this whole primary season has been.

And I am in mourning because I genuinely believed in Senator Clinton. Because she DOES see us. And because she IS committed to us. That is the kind of person I wanted in a president. Sadly, I think I will have a long, long wait…

*****I will be on vacation, thankfully, from 6/8 – 15. I may post some if I have time, or if something big happens. Other than that, though, I will be taking a much needed break from politics.*****

Clinton would have won if she had voted against the war or, barring that, planned for a campaign against Super Tuesday.

  • voter

Nation-wide, most women under 65 voted for Obama. That wasn’t true in every state – but it was overall. And in current national polls, Obama leads among all women by 14 points.

  • stodghie

there you go ignorning obambi and blaming clinton. why don’t you shut the fucx up! we are sick of hearing you.

  • voter

The reason why people thought it made sense for Clinton to quit the race months ago was it was mathematically impossible that she would get a majority of pledged delegates and that superdelegates were not going to overturn the pledged delegates.

There’s so sexism in that. Clinton took bad politial advice from folks who thought she had some chance and she told her followers that she could still win.

I’m sorry that you actually believed that was possible, but it really never was. When people tried to tell you that, you called them names as you are still doing.

  • voter

Chelsea Clinton delivered a message to convention delegates from her mother: Thank you for all the support – and now it’s time to rally behind Sen. Barack Obama.

Obama, as everyone surely knows, narrowly defeated Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“My mother wanted me to be very clear – we are going to united,” Chelsea told Texas Democrats.

Her mother, she noted, will be endorsing her formal rival tomorrow. Hillary Clinton will reaffirm “her life-long commitment to support and elect Democrats and Sen. Obama in November,” the younger Clinton said.

Why does the Clinton candidacy have to be over?

Advocate, donor and volunteer that I have been, I would like to see those people who attend tomorrow’s capitulation event show some grit and boo the senator when she says she’s supporting Obama.

It is just wrong, what she’s doing, and the best thing that can happen is for her to go take a long summer vacation to recover from the campaign while we 18 million voters take over from here on out. She’s already got the 270 electoral votes in the sack, for god’s sake. (It might go to the House of Reps. but she would still prevail.)

All she has to do is sign up to run as an independent. How hard can that be?

If she really means what she says about the most important thing being to get a Democrat in the White House, than this is the only way that will happen.

(P.S. For an article about how this election has been stolen, please click on my screen name.)

Your commentary is spot on, Amy. The one good outcome is the enormous database of supporters she has amassed for the future. With our economy slowing and gas/oil prices surging…this country is going to be in lots of trouble. She can still work on Universal healthcare…and in 4 years, come back and save the day. You can’t fight a crooked machine, but she gave it her best shot. I have to believe that this is best for her…in the short term. Meanwhile, stock up on popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show.

  • foxx

I concur totally with your thoughts and sentiments.

  • jessie

Very nice that Chelsea said that I know she loves her mother and respects her.

I do not know why the Clintons don’t tell the DNC to kiss their ass. The entire Clinton family could come over and ask me to vote for Obama/Marxist and I still would not vote for Obama/Marxist.

I wish she would not campaign for him at all.

She doesn’t have 18 million people who are loyal just to her. Most of those people want a Democrat in the WH and will vote for the Democratic nominee.

from politico and pew. 49% of white women have an unfavorable view of obama compared to 43% with a favorable view. 2/08 36% had an unfavorable view. they now swing 49-41 for mccain.

I’m not pleading for anything. But you folks really love your bubble, don’t you. Why not engage someone in a discussion? Why not consider the impact of Clinton’s Iraq war vote and her campaign’s post lack of planning past Super Tuesday? Wouldn’t it be more interesting that repeating the same old points and name-calling?

  • Andy

Loved your post/rant “Rabble Rouser Reverend” !!!! It is right on and reflects what I think exactly. THANK YOU !!

I don’t know if this can help but this was posted today by TM — it comes as a request from a Clinton supporter the idea is to get something strong and organized to have an impact: please pass along!

We are trying to get a “Thank you card campaign” started. We want to flood Senator Clinton’s DC office with thank you cards. On the front of the envelope we are writing “WE ARE ONE OF 18 MILLION” and we are asking her to take it to Denver. We want to reach as many supporters as possible so it can be effective. THE ADDRESS:

    THE HONORABLE HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON

    UNITED STATES SENATE

476 RUSSELL SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON

    DC 20510-3202

  • gil

so, the close to 18 million people who voted for Obama were:

    1) terrorists

    2) idiots

    3) sexists

    4) hate america

    5) dupes

do you people think we were all us “elitists” were fucking duped – after having watched the catastrophe of the last 4 years – you think we’re this easily fooled?

good to realize your own contempt for democracy – jesus you people are assholes.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com AmyinSC

You know what always amazes me? That ONLY Clinton is held resonsible for a vote that, btw, was to have UN inspectors go into Iraq. War was SUPPOSED to be the very last resort after all other remedies had been exhausted. Yet, Kerry, Edwards, Daschle, all of those people with whom Obama has surrounded himself, all voted for the same resolution. Yet, only Clinton is apprently SINGLE HANDEDLY responsible for the US invading Iraq. Because George Bush had NOTHING to do with it. Ahem.

And, had the DNC not gamed the system with the 100% voter suppression of MI and FL, she would have won the nomination. But hey – don’t let facts influence your opinions!

In full disclosure, I am Rabble Rouser, author of the above Rant.

  • stodghie

hey, you aren’t talking about the aa women already in the tank for obama. isn’t it just pathetic the way aa women voters allowed themselves to be manipulated for obama when he has never done one thing for them. they trashed the clintons who were their friends. so don’t go there, you embarrass yourself.

  • Melissa

Larry, isn’t it time you give it up? Hillary lost because of Hillary, not “sexism.” Hillary made poor judgments in picking a campaign staff, case in point…Mark Penn. Hillary underestimated the caucus votes. Hillary did not manage her campaign funds well. Hillary made several “gaffes” (I will be kind because a few were out and out stories; case in point, Bosnia) And Bill was definitely a liability. All these factors were her loss, not sexism.

Now you can suck it up and realize that backing Obama is a much better option than McCain who will only continue the failed Bush policies. For a person like yourself who knows Iraq has been a major blunder for this country, it will be Obama who will turn this around…not McCain, and not any third party candidate. Wake up and realize the future of our country is now in the hands of Obama. You temper tantrum over Hillary’s loss isn’t helping this country.

  • gil

    ok, I said 4, I meant to say 8

  • voter

Boy would you mess up Clinton’s Senate office and make it impossible for her to respond to constituents.

That is not a very good idea if you actually, you know, support Hillary Clinton and want her to be able to serve the people of NY.

  • stodghie

melissa, i have come to believe you are not even a woman but some silly teen with too few brains and way too many pimples.

    http://bearoller9640.wordpress.com/

    Here’s the you tube link
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGM1HHC8iwI

Rev Manning says Rev Wright is not finished with Obama, he’s going to take him down. He also says Obama is a dark force that stole the election.

I kind of like Rev Manning. LOL, if you need a crazy pastor, this one speaks truth to power.

Has it occured to you that white women are the majority? Oh and hispanics outnumber blacks.

Has it occured to you that the baby boomers far outnumber the 18-29 Obama demographics?

No of course not. You’d actually have to be informed to know that…something Obamabots are clearly not.

  • stodghie

what they were is duped and easily manipulated just like on american idol!

  • Bella

We aren’t here to discuss your bait. We are here to destroy Oblahma and the DNC.

Now run along. Your village is missing its idiot.

  • Melissa

Stoghie, And I have come to believe that people who want to continue this charade about Hillary are as much extreme as the neo-cons and don’t have this country’s well-being at heart. This is an important election that requires stopping the neo-con movement. The economic situation is enough to tell you that. So if you think spreading insults is constructive, then you only validate what I just posted.

  • AngryWhitePerson

“voter” is definitely a sack of shit. Someone takes the time to do a well-written, well thought out post about why Democrats are unhappy. And this piece of shit can not even be bothered to read it. Instead, he/she races to post the same tired old Obamabot points and insults, completely ignoring the real issues. There are many long-time Democrats that are angry, disgusted and fed up with the party. But go ahead, stick your head so far up your ass and pretend it’s sunshine.

  • voter

    Two things:

    1. Everyone knew it was a vote for war. I sure did and I protested to try to stop it. My Senators didn’t listen.

    2. Full seating of MI and FL was never going to happen because if it did, the DNC was never going to be able to enforce their rules. My state party wanted to earlier and they didn’t because they would have lost delegates. If that was shown to be an empty threat, my state and others wouldn’t have listened to the DNC. And, in any case, it wouldn’t have mattered. Obama would have still had the majority of pledged delegates and that’s what was the key for the superdelegates.

  • Shtuey

This was nothing less than a coup d’etat with the goal of exorcising the Clintons from the party and driving it to FarLeftyLand–fascist style.

The Barry Bonds campaign used race as a bludgeon to silence critics. As second generation American Jew I don’t have “white guilt.” In fact I am extremely proud of what the American Jewish community has done for the cause of civil rights in America; something members of Barry Bonds’ spiritual hypocrisy committee shit on on a regular basis. But David Blacksploitator Axelgoebels played the race card perfectly. And just to make sure that all was well, they not only dipped the tip of the dagger in poison, they spiked the wine as well–the DNC failed to grasp just how angry the bees in the hive were when they smacked it with a bat on May 31. I’m pretty sure both Bill and Hillary have read Hamlet so it should be of no surprise to anyone when I say that you can pretty much bet that by the end of the Ohio/Texas primary they knew that this is exactly the position they would find themselves in after June 3. I know I did.

This summer is going to be a shitstorm pure and simple, brought to you by the Clinton Nation. The DNC raped fair reflection. They violated their sunshine laws. They love the rules eh? Let’s shove the rules up their bungholes.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com AmyinSC

Actually, those 18 million voters who support Hillary Clinton want a capable, competent, qualified, experienced, intelligent person in the White House. Which is, of course, why we supported (and still support) Senator Clinton and why many of us (I admit, not all) will NOT vote for Barack Obama.

It’s not about the party, it’s about the person.

And you don’t need to believe me. You simply need to wait until the results come in after election day in November, sweetie.

You are a very angry person, so well-identified by yourself.

Read some polls. At most 22% of Clinton supporters say they’d vote for McCain were the election to be held today. That’s not as much as the number of Republicans who won’t vote for McCain.

I know some people are exceedingly angry. You can sure see that here. But I know lots and lots of Clinton supporters and they are voting for the Democratic nominee because that’s what they do every presidential election. Sometime their candidate wins, sometimes not, but they know that the Democrat is better than the Republican.

This is a really good piece. Nicely written. What woman besides a republican will ever be President in this country. No one. There will not be a female democratic president in my lifetime I am pretty sure, I am 20. This party which I have stood for let me down. Me, a Latino, I am not wanted by this party, which has now effectively morphed into a cult. Women, you are apparently especially not wanted. We make up the 2 largest swing voting blocks, Women and Hispanics. Yet,as Harriet said,we are being thrown down the tubes. Hillary Clinton was and is the only woman in the Democratic Party capable, qualified enough, and ready to be the President. Who else is there? Not one other woman could do what she did in running, and WIN THE POPULAR VOTE, more votes than anyone in US history in a primary. And if the republicans ever run a female candidate that is a moderate count me in. But the only candidate I have ever wanted to work for in our party has been “gang-raped” by the media,Barack Obama, and the DNC. I am not a democrat anymore.

  • TheDNCcantshutmeup

As hard as they may try, the DNC, the MSM and the Obama koolaid drinkers will never sway me from these fundamental beliefs:

    1. The DNC chose at the outset to push Obama and manipulated the early primary states to his advantage.
    2. The MSM showed through the thinnest veil in recent memory their contempt for the Clintons, and in so doing lost complete sight of their duty to their viewers to give us NEWS and not fawning and pandering to their golden boy candidate.
    3. Clinton is by far the strongest candidate on either side. She has the policy ideas and the connections to MAKE change happen instead of hoping for it.
    4. Clinton is the only candidate poised to get us out of Iraq with so much military support (unlike Obama)and the desire to do it (unlike McCain).
    5. Obama has not won the nomination. At this point, he is the presumptive nominee, but it takes superdelegates to put him over the top. If the shit hits the fan soon enough and the SD’s wake up to his liabilities, Clinton could also be the nominee come convention time.

    And finally …
    6. There is no way in hell I will EVER vote for a candidate so weak that he stood by and let his surrogates attack and demean his opponent rather than having the guts to take her on himself. He is nothing short of a sexist pig from everything I’ve seen and heard. Sweetie this Obama … this woman’s voting and donating to McCain!

Jeez, you Obambitrons. First, it wasn’t a ‘vote for the war’, and no, everyone certainly did not know that. Bush promised to use force as a last resort, and he lied, hence his 28% approval rating. Its ALL on Bush/Cheney. Second, just because Obambi had 100+ more pledged delegates doesn’t mean he had the will of the voters with him. The primary is to get over 2025, or 2118 or 2120 PLEDGED delegates. Obambi is still not the nominee according to DNC rules. Hillary has been the superior and winning candidate the 2nd half, since she fired Mark Penn, and since Obambi came under more scrutiny. Don’t forget it would have been possible to revote Michigan and Florida if Obambi had supported it, for which we could have been preparing for right now. Wonder why he didn’t? There’s still time for him to implode.

Don’t forget that Obama also attacked President Clinton as being racist, fabricating an entire narrative about him, AND Hillary, demonizing a president who has worked tirelessly for the AA community. And that was the thanks they BOTH got – having knives twisted in their backs for stating FACTS. It is a FACT that LBJ signed the Civil Rights Bill into LAW – that’s how it works. It is a FACT that Obama was spinning a fairy tale about his anti-war activities since he has voted THE EXACT SAME AS CLINTON ever since he got into the Senate. It is a FACT that Jackson won SC.

Obama has worked his entire campaign to demonize the only two term Democratic president we have had in 40 years. Sorry, but that doesn’t sound like much of a Dem to me. He glorifies Reagan and Bush I, and tears down Clinton??? Not for nothing, but Reagan was HORRIBLE for the AA community!! And Bush I? I mean, really. I went to see Ambassador Joe Wilson when he was here speaking to a group of Progressives. He said very clearly and emphatically, “With all due respect to Senator Obama, the Iraq war is not Hillary’s, it is George Bush’s war.” He emphasized that Obama was not present during all of the pre-war debate that was completely non-partisan–Ambassador Wilson was, along with General Wesley Clark, Colin Powell, etc. Obama did not know what was being debated in Congress and he probably would have voted the way Hillary, Kerry, Edwards, etc. all voted after hearing the prolong debate. So, please, your mindless accusations and ignorance of the facts are not worthy of consideration.

Obama leads in battle for Latino vote
John Aravosis (DC) · 6/06/2008 02:34:00 PM ET · Link

Wait, you mean losing a demographic of voters in the primary to your Democratic opponent does not equate to losing that same demographic in the general election to your Republican opponent? But the media kept telling us this was true. Funny, nobody could have predicted that there was no correlation. Oh wait, yes we did. LA Times:
A new Gallup Poll summary of surveys taken in May shows Obama winning 62% of Latino registered voters nationwide, compared with just 29% for McCain. Others have found a wide gap as well. The pro-Democratic group Democracy Corps compiled surveys from March through May that showed Obama with a 19-point lead among Latinos. And a Times poll published last month showed Obama leading McCain among California Latinos by 14 points.

Republicans say McCain’s numbers among Latinos at the moment are disappointing…
    Yeah, you think?

Well voter, let’s see if I can find an example …

Oh wait, here’s one! Of all the applicants, they chose SC to be the southern state for an early primary … a state which is overwhelmingly black. It was their means of solidifying that voting block as early in the primary season as possible.

Add to that their %$@#$! assinine decision to strip 100% of MI and FL delegates. Both states in the Clinton column that when eliminated from the delegate math caused the MSM, DNC and Obama camps to push the illusion that Obama was mounting a sizeable lead in the the delegate count and popular vote.

Smoke and mirrors … all aligned to cast shadows on Clinton and shine the spotlight on Obama.

  • UniversityofIowaJR

No, he will lose the Latino vote. I gurantee you. Our most important issues: National Security, faith and immigration rights. They are in the same position on immigration. The other 2, guess who people will trust more.

Oh, and I never said woman can’t stand up for themselves. They are the largest voting block in this country. They have been treated like shit by our party this cycle, and the DNC deserves to lose the women’s vote.

I am saying if this woman, qualified and ready, can’t run without getting petty things like her voice, looks and laugh analyzed as a problem, who can? And how can someone so qualified be turned down for someone, a man, with no qualifications? This will happen everytime a woman tried to run in our party. But I can’t think of anymore democratic women to run on this side.

The Convention isn’t until the end of August, and he hasn’t won this yet. Lots can happen in two months, especially with the Republican attack machine.

Barackula’s own words regarding the Iraq Resolution:

”But, I’m not privy to Senate intelligence reports,” Mr. Obama said. ”What would I have done? I don’t know. What I know is that from my vantage point the case was not mad

“So it’s not clear to me what differences we’ve had since I’ve been in the Senate. I think what people might point to is our different assessments of the war in Iraq, although I’m always careful to say that I was not in the Senate, so perhaps the reason I thought it was such a bad idea was that I didn’t have the benefit of U.S. intelligence. And, for those who did, it might have led to a different set of choices. So that might be something that sort of is obvious. But, again, we were in different circumstances at that time: I was running for the U.S. Senate, she had to take a vote, and casting votes is always a difficult test.” [The New Yorker, 10/30/06]
“Not only was the idea of an invasion increasingly popular, but on the merits I didn’t consider the case against war to be cut-and- dried.” ["Audacity of Hope," 2006, p. 294]

And he continued funding the war on every vote.

And he’s failed to go on the record with further votes such as the Kyl-Lieberman bill, because HE FAILED TO SHOW UP. Pretty important huh?

Not really. The Los Angeles Times had an article today about a poll showing Latinos going for Obama 2:1 over McCain.

See, the Liar Media set up this false logic during the primaries, claiming that since Latinos chose Hillary Clinton over Obama, it meant they didn’t like Obama. No, it just meant they preferred Clinton.

Now they’re acting all surprised, having fallen for their own B.S., that Obama is currently doing much better than McCain among Latinos as a whole.

    I’ve got a question.

When was the last time BO or Cheney bought a gallon of gas?

Don’t say you feel our pain.

BO is sitting on 42 million dollars and hasn’t bought gas for at least a year or more.

Cheney never has to buy gas and gets a good dividend off the profits of every gallon sold.

So why can’t we get even a small break on our gas expenses, no matter how minuscule?

And don’t tell me it’s needed for road repairs.
Yeah, the same roads that are neglected for years until they fail, and then a ten-person crew is sent out to watch a two-person detail fill a pothole.

And one last thing: this isn’t going to be a typical outrage-to-anger-to-denial-to-depression-to-acceptance thing. This is historically monstrous, and we will not stand for it. HRC supporters must stay organized. We can switch to INDEPENDENT, form a write-in campaign for HRC, form a 3rd party. This Democratic Congress is starting to feel like the pre1994 bunch that the Repubs overthrew, though they were even more corrupt. Any more ideas?

Obama never had to give a vote on the war resolution.

All he gave was a speech. Whoopy!!

If Obama had in fact voted against the war while in congress he would have been excoriated and labeled a traitor similar to Baghdad Jim McDemott.

The media so wanted Obama and has anyone really noticed what is going on, the media got their prize Obama is the nominee, Dean and Donna got their wish, and the Obamabots got to celebrate.

Take a look around the media is not dead of news, their golden boy Obama seems to be not news worthy now or viewer are no longer interested so they try and find titbit’s on Hillary to keep the thing going.

The blogs that were once vibrant with Hillary supporters are now dying a slow death due to many leaving or not posting again, the election just does not seem the same.

We were so filled with the talk that it was Obama brining all this excitement to many, so why is it that with Hillary bowing out of the race,so many are being affected looking to find way to keep bloggers or viewers interested.

It’s plain to see Hillary was the crowd pleaser, the woman that was bringing the excitement to this election, without her the race is now dull and this is showing in all aspect across the Internet and on cable TV.

All the lies we were fed that it was Obama bringing all this excitement the proof is plain to see that it was not Obama in any way it was the charisma of Hillary Clinton running for President, now she is stepping out all interest in this election is fading by November it will be long gone.

Numbers one through four may make Obama opponents feel good, but Obama supporters fall in groups #2, #3 and #5.

Groups two and five a largely the same, although you could say that #5 consists of people who duped themselves by imposing their own aspirations upon the empty suit and rhetoric of Obama. As for the #3, the sexists, I’m not sure it was intentional at first but by the end they had to have known but refused to hold their tongues. I noticed that as soon as race became an issue for Obama after Wright, the really nasty sexist comments began to appear at places like HuffPo.

That being said, I have to say that watching Obama is like watching a Tony Robbins video. And listening (and reading) comments about Obama’s speeches from his fans are quite revealing.

They remind me of people who would stand around a toilet to bask in the glory of one of Obama’s turds amazed at the perfection of his bowel movement.

Of course it was a vote for war. Why else did millions of people march in the streets? I was among them, because we knew it was a vote for war. The word war was in the title of the bill. And news reports had already debunked the aluminum tube tale.

More than half the Senate Dems voted against it, including the top Democrat on the Intelligence Committee who pleaded with all Dem Senators to actually read the NIE.

But, whatever, if only Clinton had admitted she made a mistake, she probably wouldn’t have suffered from her vote. But she didn’t want to acknowledge her error.

The only talking down being done is by you. Instead of being proud the Democratic party had a choice of a Black man for President and woman for President and either would have been a step towards progessive movement in this country, you have to tear down the Black nominee. Be happy that millions of African-Americans in this country have come to finally see a realization of their years of strife. Be proud these two candidates have opened doors for Blacks and women in this country. And be proud we have a strong candidate that can take down the movement in this country that is detrimental to the existence of our democracy and our Constitution. I really don’t understand any of you who can’t see this.

If you think the Iraq War Resolution was a vote for the war, then you never bothered reading it. When Obama claimed that it was a vote for the war, he was either lying or he hadn’t bother to read the resolution himself. Anybody who lies about something as important as that is not to be trusted with the nation’s security. Anybody who doesn’t check basic facts about things as important as that is not to be trusted with the nation’s security. We already had one president– George W. Bush — who lied about Iraq. Now, if Obama gets in, we’ll get another one.

Any party that rewards this kind of mendacity with a presidential nomination is not serious about national security and doesn’t deserve to win.

Why do you think that the key for the superdelegates was who got the most pledged delgates? The rules state that they can use their best judgement. Right now, enough of them seem to be leaning toward Obama, but who knows if that will hold out until August when the voting takes place?

It had nothing to do with women hating. its a vendetta writ large for all to see.

Why do you think all the top ranking Democratic females remained silent when Hillary was smeared by Pfleger and Wright? if any other Democratic woman was pimp slapped by this duo, they’d be out for blood demanding the heads of these two foul creatures.

    They want Hillary gone.

Also its clear that the DNC had intended to run Obama for preznit right after he gave his gassy speech at the ’04 convention.

You could see this in the way the base and beltway elite Democrats literally orgasmed after they heard him emote at the convention. For weeks thereafter bloggers were simply estatic over Barky. His ’08 run was a foregone conclusion.

Furthermore the Democratic elites had never liked the Clintons and saw Obama as their weapon to crush the Clinton duo once and for all IMO.

And when you think about it, Obama is the logical culmination of decades of pushing identity politics, pandering to socio-ethnic groups, political correctness that so defines the Democratic party today.

IMV Obama is the ethnic identity and multicultural warrior par excellence. A Black Ronald Reagan who appeals to the new Democratic base of college educated white elites, and hyphenated minorities.

Hell even the DNC has been out front about this. To paraphrase Donna Brasil ‘whites and old people are no longer wanted in the party’.

Mind you her comments were never retracted or condemned by the party bosses. Which means they are in agreement.

And you can bet that the DNC will run another politically correct multicultural miscreant in ’08 should Barky crash and burn. My money is on Tony Villaraigosa of Los Angeles. He’s another ethnic identity warrior and empty suit the Democrats have been cultivating.

Those are not owned by Obama supporters. It’s just not true.

Republicans say McCain’s numbers among Latinos at the moment are disappointing — far below the goals set by a campaign that has long believed McCain could challenge the traditional Democratic dominance of the Latino electorate.

Let me point out what I consider to be a REAL instance of sexism AND racism- and it’s being helped by many so called feminists on this site. There is a white male who has decided it is in his best interest to try and ruin a successful, intelligent, accomplished, African American woman with the most vicious and vile charges. And what is he basing these attacks on? A RUMOR! He knows someone who says they know someone who says they saw a tape with said woman. I think Larry’s attacks have been not only misogynistic but also racist. I say FOR SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Andy

Where is Bambi’s Unity, is it coming?

  • blueasthesky

That was the spin from the Obama campaign, that the supers wouldn’t override the pledged delegate majority. And that’s what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said at one time, but she backed down from it. She later said that, in accordance with the rules, they should use their best judgement. It’s hard to find anybody other than Obama partisans who agree with the campaign spin.

We have the rather unusual situation where one candidate has a slim majority of pledged delegates, and another has a slim majority of popular votes. So, assuming Obama gets the nomination (August is a long time from now), we’ll have a nominee who won despite getting fewer popular votes.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com AmyinSC

When men, and women who have internalized sexism, attack women on the basis of their looks, or their voices, or make comments abt them being castrating, etc., etc., CIVILIZED people speak out against it. The same way civilized people speak out against racism, for instance. (If the same type of comments made abt Clinton were made abt Obama, you would have been calling for people like Olbermann, Carlson, Matthews, Russert, Schultz, Miller, and Rhodes to lose their jobs.)

It will be interesting to see how Hillary thinks she can unite the party. It will have to be on issues like health care, social security, taxes, Iraq and not on the sterling record or character of either the presumptive nominee or the current Democratic leadership.

I will listen carefully to what she says and sadly give her demerits if she praises a nominee who has behaved in the despicable manner Obama has behaved and who has no accomplishments of any significance to speak of.

Everybody knows that neither Republicans and Democrats can be trusted. It’s hard to know if anyone can really be trusted these days. But 85-yr Lyndon LaRouche, who has nothing to lose but his teeth, seems to think neither Obama or McCain are actually going to be nominated. The latest entry on his website was very cryptic, but did make a point of the deteriorating economy as factor in what he predicts to be a surprising turn of events by August.

I appreciate people who go out on a limb like that and will be watching with great interest to see how events unfold.

listen thanks melissa for showing your true colors. we are back at being called racist. now isn’t that special! we just don’t get the historic importance of bambi stealing the nomination and then getting his butt kicked in novembe. that goes back to what racist, bitter hicks we are i guess.

  • Kevin

Ideas? Sure. Notify your congressman or woman and your Senator that their superdelegate vote will cost them yours. Keep on the DNC mailing list and send them a check for $0.01, whenever you get a mailing, online the minimum is $10.00, see if they are dumb enough to cash it. Run against your democratic congresscritter in the democratic primary, if you can’t, sign the petition for those who can. Seek out the green party, socialists, etc. Barrage your congressional rep and senators with e-mails, howl your indignation, be heard, silence is acceptance.
Write-ins may be votes for barry, check with your secretary of state, some states count write ins as votes for the same party.

  • blueasthesky

And how does that prove that Obama didn’t insult the Latinos?

  • CB

IGNORE OBAMA-ROTS….they pollute every stream they dip into.

Just ignore them. If you don’t react, they won’t exist. It is a shame that Obama attracts such low-life. Wonder if it says something about his character and judgment? Character and judgment were the only reason Axelrod (machine-tool of Daley machine) gave for people to vote for him in the Hope+Change(TM) ad campaign.

Not qualified and the company he keeps is a freak show.

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

Have you seen McCain’s new ad? It’s really great. Don’t you think you should be over at Obama headquarters trying to think up some way to counter the ad. When is Obama going to have any ads out? Did he use all his ad money for that illegal campaigning he did in Florida? Do you think his PR people in the press will be able to make him seem even semi-competent?

Do you think Rezko will roll on Obama or take his chances on getting a Presidential pardon if Obama is able to steal the GE? I think Rezko should go ahead and get the best deal he can now, because Obama’s chances are looking really dim. McCain seems to have stuff lined up to use against him that will make what they did to Gore and Kerry look like a tea party.

Doncha just love McCain? Thank goodness we’re not going to have a President who thinks there are 57 states. Man, how embarrassing that would be — to follow Bush with Obama, an even dumber dumbass than Bush ever was.

  • mahaska

you’re so full of shit. Whenever there’s a troll, at some point in his attack will come what I call the showing of the false flag. They will claim education or a black relative or long political experience and the really brave ones will pretend to be an AA. Fly the false flag if you will, but we know you and what you are.

Your side needed to purge the Clinton years so completely you have to also get rid of those who refuse to forget. By the end of the season, not only did the memory of Clinton had to go, but Clinton supporters had to go because they were an unfortunate remind of dissent against what the Party Bigwigs wanted.

Which is what is happening. The desire for an Obama victory was so strong, yet hung by a threat, and as the race grew closer and closer and Barack’s performance went from bad to worse, the only solution was to attack Hillary supporters as a whole to drive them out.

That way, when Obama loses in November, they can blame Hillary supporters without fear of retribution from inside the party. It will be a united party. United in blaming Hillary.

  • voter

Yeah. He made a mistake on the gas tax, so he changed his policy. I’d rather support a candidate who can change when he makes a mistake than someone who refuses to admit error.

  • Linda C.

We don’t know what Obama will do with Iraq..Remember Samantha Powers comment? He was against the war..then he was for the war, even campaigning for Lieberman, before he was against it again. Considering he voted for every funding authorization, he would have voted for the war, or maybe he would have voted present. Even you want a true anti-war candidate…talk about Kucinich, don’t talk to me about Obama.

With the Zbig clan running the foreign policy we will have another cold war, arming another Khmer Roughe regime complete with a new Pol Pot wannabe.Of course we will simultaneously talk about human rights while arming folks like Sadaam Hussein and religious zealots to create another Taliban that stones and beheads women and gays. We will use anything and anyone to be pawns in the big Chess game with Russia and to hell with the people who get caught in-between.

Who knows his true position on trade, taxes, the national debt, trade deficit and all of those real important issues. It seems that he considers everything else distractions, but he can’t put together a coherent sentence on these issues. It will be “delegated” to the “knowledgeable” and we will have the same mess we have had for the past 8 years.

So I am not convinced it will be a different and better world with Obama.

It was also a choice within the DNC to turn from their doomed pledged delegate system that has failed them in every election except Bill Clinton’s and choose someone who had a chance and the qualifications to be president. Instead of turning from their doomed system, they tried to manipulate the system and doomed the election.

Senator Clinton could have run a better campaign. She didn’t count on the manipulation of the AA vote that turns out a higher proportion of delegates per voter. After being called a racist, there was no way she could recover. The tearing down of the Clinton’s started early in the church with the likes of Rev. Wright, Rev. Meeks and so forth. It was Obama’s malicious use of the pulpit that served him well as much as the right wing nuts used their pulpits ever so effectively under Rove’s watchful eye.

Then we come to the sexism. The public and no regrets denigration of women. Completely supported by Obama and a silently complicit DNC party. Even though there was a fear of insulting AA members of the party. The party gave no thought to insulting a former First Lady, and two term Senator along with the majority of members. This was all given with no more reflection than the women will still come and make your sandwich so you can continue to watch watch your favorite game. When there is demand for respect…then we are further abused with Roe vs Wade. Like men have really worked and fought to save that issue for us. Don’t give yourself credit for something that the women in the party consistently fight to protect. So what have you done for me lately? The equal Rights Amendment? The Equity Pay Act that Senator Clinton has been favoring for years that just sits there under Senator Reid’s esteemed majority leadership?? Let’s just say that no one is going to be in the kitchen making you a sandwich anymore.

  • trails

For those who believe sexism did not play a role in this primary, I recommend you view the following video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-IrhRSwF9U&feature=bz301

And for those who believe Obama is destined to breeze to an easy win in the general election, I suggest you consider that he only won 6 of the last 13 Democratic contests. Additionally, I believe he could not capture outright the number of delegates to win the primary, so the rules committee lowered the bar and stole or hijacked some delegates for him. Those facts do not make a strong base for the general election ahead.

Plus, he seems to have a wonderful ability to hack people off. Witness his speech to heal the races, which wound up ticking off typical white grandmothers–a demographic which votes in high numbers and a set of people who most politicians rightfully fear offending.

    Just sayin’

When tourism is down because gas prices have shot through the roof, do you say, I FEEL GREAT! Change is on the way!

How is your right to vote by the way, in that state? Oh, cut in half? Hmm, you don’t say. And you believe this is a good change? Shut your fucking fictional mouth. Almost 18 million DEMOCRATS voted for Hillary, while many who voted for Obama included a whole bunch of assorted others. That’s the morons who might not even remember to vote in November if a rock concert is not in town, Indies who will switch to McCain anyway, a bunch of cheaters who thugged their way through cauci and the Repubs who already had their nomination sewn up and decided to play with the opposition.

Do you think Rezko will take Obama’s house back when it turns out Obama won’t be President and won’t be able to pardon him?

Is Obama going to wear a black arm band on the day Michigan gave women the right to vote?

Has Obama found his Illinois legislature records yet? The folks over at Democrats for McCain wanted me to ask.

  • SD

Well voter, as you wish to have an engagement of ideas, let me give it a shot. You keep saying Obama ran a great campaign. Then why has the frontrunner since February kept sinking in the primaries?

You know that Obama won because of the caucuses. Take 4-5 of the largest states which had caucuses (Washington, Minnesota etc.) and convert them to primaries and Obama would have lost. Caucuses do not measure the number of voters who support you, just the intensity of voters who support you, and who have the time to spare. Many love Obama, few love Hillary, even if they would vote for her in a primary (and why should a politician be loved; if one is, he must be a charlatan). And as any fool knows, Hillary’s supporters in this primary cycle are precisely the sort of people who cannot spend 4 hours in a caucus. And he won because of the African American block vote. Even Jesse Jackson won 7 million votes in 1988.

    If you are convince

What a wonderful article. I especially like the fly shooing comment.

This Hillary supporter will be voting McCain. I am actually starting to feel sorry for him when I see bloggers poking fun. Sometimes when you take a step back from your party, you wonder why you stuck around for so long.

I mean has anything gotten done in Congress? Many of Obama’s political supporters in Washington, have been politicians for years. And all of the earmarks that get added in. You just need to find out about this man on your own. Lord knows the MSM is totally incapable of thinking for themselves and truly are in the tank for Obama.

One thing I can say about McCain is that he is the no pork candidate. No doubt! I think he would bring around true change and I TRUST his leadership and ADMIRE his service to our nation.

Obama will just be a puppet and we all know the people who will be pulling his strings. Look at Obama’s past…it is just a risk to vote for him. Nothing is going to change. I can see tax increases, though he promises the opposite. It just ISN’T possible! Our country is in SO much debt, there is a war in Iraq and no guarantee that Obama could get us out of there any sooner than McCain. And do you actually trust Obama with our nation at this time in history?

Israel just said that they are going to attack Iran. That is just the start of things to come.

Maybe I am being paranoid, but something just isn’t right!

You can have your Party Unity…I am no longer a member so what does it matter to me?

I am choosing the most qualified candidate…McCain. It’s not my fault that the Dems chose a nominee that I cannot in good conscience, vote for. He is too inexperienced and just do not trust him.

    Sorry for the rambling on…

Want to know what President Obama will do with a Democratic Congress that McCain won’t?

    Friday, Jun. 06, 2008
Dems to Push Obama’s Goals With Bills in Congress
    By AP/LAURIE KELLMAN

(WASHINGTON) — Between now and Election Day, Democrats say they will use Congress to showcase the kinds of change promised by their presidential candidate, Barack Obama.

Some legislation they’ll choose have good prospects of passage — policy blueprints for higher education and the military; a ban on lead in toys — and skip over debates on spending plans and some taxes until a new president takes office.

Other bills they’ll debate are doomed. But on those, the point isn’t passage this year. It’s about making the case that the Democrats’ plan for children’s health care, for example, won’t become law without one of their own in the White House.

Whatever legislation Democrats offer, it will have been vetted for the benefit of the Obama campaign as is traditional between the congressional majority and its presidential candidate.

“Now that the primaries have come to a close, we relish the opportunity to compare agendas,” said Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the Senate Democrats’ chief fundraiser. “It’s going to sharpen the focus in the Congress and the Senate. It’s going to sharpen the focus in the presidential race.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, too, indicated that the House agenda would be synchronized with Obama’s in the run-up to drafting a party platform.

She told reporters this week that the document would reflect the Democrats’ focus on heath care, global warming, national security and the economy.

“I’m sure we’ll be sitting down together to talk about how we can work together for a great Democratic victory in November,” Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters who had asked her about Obama. “We’ll obviously want to make it current as we go forward and be more illustrative of some of the initiatives we would put forward.”

Still to be determined is whether Democrats are going to try to push through a legislative rescue for the mortgage crisis, or use the issue as a club against Republicans this fall. Democrats also are planning another effort to revive the economy this fall, at the height of the campaign.

Congressional action as a campaign tool can cut both ways.

Republicans like Sens. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania have warned, for example, that blocking President Bush’s judicial nominations was angering GOP senators and could trigger retaliation against a President Obama and his nominees.

Bush and Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. struck an agreement this week to confirm a housing secretary and members of a congressionally funded think tank in what some observers predict could be the last Senate confirmations of Bush’s tenure. As often happens toward the end of a president’s term, such agreements get harder to negotiate. Republicans are accusing Democrats of trying to run out the clock.

Bills Democrats say they’ll take up with good prospects for passage include: reauthorizations for higher education and the Pentagon, banning imported toys that contain lead, shielding middle-income taxpayers from the alternative minimum tax, extending some expiring tax breaks for businesses and preventing doctors from absorbing cuts in their Medicare payments.

Democrats also hope for a major boost in the GI Bill for veterans’ college benefits, at a cost of more than $50 billion over the upcoming decade. Obama supports this, but Republican John McCain and the Pentagon oppose the bill because it would award the benefits after only three years of service. They fear it would encourage people to leave the service after only one enlistment during a war.

Already, the candidates have sparred over that one, with Obama and McCain accusing each other of playing politics with veterans issues.

Democrats also will bring up legislation that has drawn presidential vetoes. They’ll flex muscle where they can, such as by overriding Bush’s expected veto of a $290 billion farm bill.

They’ll also bring up bills that don’t have the two-thirds majority to override an expected veto from Bush – to drive home the issue for the election. Universal health care for children, Democrats said, will be held up as Exhibit A of the types of Democratic policies unlikely to pass under a Republican president.

Democrats are making the same point with bills that aren’t even getting that far. Republicans blocked a bill this past week to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, probably killing global warming legislation for the year. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., suggested the exercise produced a “road map” for next year’s debate on the issue – under a new president.

Labor and trade bills, viable or not, are favorite vehicles for Democrats to energize their base of union workers. Democrats in both chambers are introducing bills that would basically bring the nation’s free-trade agreements to a halt, a move pushed by labor unions. McCain backs free trade.

Other tough votes loom for McCain, such as on legislation that would extend unemployment benefits, make it easier for workers to sue for wage discrimination, and ban workplace discrimination against gays, lesbians and bisexuals.

I have only recently become acquainted with Mr LaRouche’s website and have never been a political junkie, so I really can’t answer that question.

I do know that Mr LaRouche and his colleagues address economic matters in considerable detail which I, for one, have not heard any of the presidential candidates, except Hillary, even come close.

Right now, a lot of the entries on his website deal with impending food shortages. I am pretty sure that is not spurious propaganda. But again I haven’t heard any of the presidential candidates discuss these matters except for Obama talking about the price of argula or whatever that special elitist leafy green is called.

  • CB

Obama’s lead comes from 1.1 million voters in caucuses; Hillary’s from 34.5 million in primaries.

The DNC had to rig the outcome by not counting Florida and Michigan. Obama’s lawyers opposed a revote, which would have been free to the states. Why? Because he would have lost.

Meanwhile, the corporate-consolidated media can keep running their Clean Coal ads (one of Obama’s money machine) and drug ads, which the real candidate of change–Hillary Clinton–would be capable of disallowing.

Obama is for Obama only. Even Bu$h had more of an ideal of public service.

  • bert

I don’t know wheer you get your so called facts because they are wrong.

Polltaker John McLaughlin found a 49 percent to 38 percent edge by McCain over Obama among all women. This contradicts the Democrats claim that women will support Barack Hussein Obama in lieu of the Clinton loss. The mess known as the Democrat Party’s primary rules has alienated more than a few voters and reconciliation may be impossible.

Please provide a citation for your statement that most women under 65 voted for Obama.

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

Do you think the media will turn on Obama now that he has the nomination or do you think they will continue to support him since he is so much more manageable than McCain?

Is he still going to take money from lobbyists’ wives, children, dogs, cats, employees, mistresses and second cousins twice removed, just as he did in the primary? Is he still going to mislead people by lying to them that he does not take lobbyists’ money?

Has he realized yet that the GE is not a caucus and that McCain is going to be the next President?

Does the nuclear industry love him so much because he takes their money and does their bidding, or do they just love him because he can pronounce nuclear (as long as he has a teleprompter)?

    I called it, sweetie!

Obama was the chosen candidate of the corporate press, the Democratic elite and their corporate backers, how could he lose? Funny thing is I didn’t think he was SO BAD that they would have to give him free delegates, a press that could barely bring themselves to do even the most basic investigation into his past AND drag him across the finish line huffing, puffing and whining. Well, not the finish line, the 1/2 way mark actually. LOOONG way to go and the nice opponents are all gone now.

In the distance you little Obamalambs will notice something beginning to move closer..it looks a lot like a pack of wolves with blood dripping from their teeth…we call them Republicans. Good luck!

Yeah, Pelosi and Dean changed their minds about the rules and supers supporting the winner in each state when Hillary began winning so many states like MA and IN.

Not ramblng at all, and along the lines of the war in Iraq, what people fail to acknowledge too often is that we are also at war in Afghanistan. And WHO said he was too busy campaigning to chair a subcommittee that oversees Afghanistan?? And NATO??? Uh, yeah – that would be Obama.

Have the Obama supporters not realized that he will say ANYTHING to ANYONE at ANYTIME, depending on which way the wind is blowing? He can SAY all KINDS of things abt what he wants to accomplish (after calling Hillary to find out exactly what her policies were – how is he going to cheat off of her and take her policy statements if she isn’t running anymore?? “Uh, uh, uh, well, look…”). But ACCOMPLISHING them is something altogether different, and something for which he is WOEFULLY ill-prepared.

He reminds me of George Bush on TOO many levels.

Just sayin’. Oh, I plan on writing Hillary in, myself.

My rule-of-thumb after Reagan’s henchmen overturned the fairness act and media was consolidated into the control of half-a-dozen corporation is to not vote for their darling. Precious is the easy one to beat. He expects everything to be handed to him. He is not qualified and isn’t smart enough to realize it. The DNC just needed someone to read Axelrod’s speeches well to sell the “idealist” youth on Hope+Change(TM). A new American idol.

When the extent of Obama’s is revealed by the Republicans, the unsophisticated, unware, and uncritical voters will be shocked. I thought he was hope+change?

I doubt the corporate media will buy him when McCain is more amenable to their bottom lines.

I think it’s not a very good ad. Why would that impress swing voters, talking about war so much when the war is wildly unpopular?

  • C. S.

History lesson time. Senator Clinton was one of those left out of the Bush secret meetings about Iraq; nor was she the only one who was forced to make a decision based on information given to them by those few members Bush called to his secret meetings. Remember those few “enlightened” by Bush went back and told all of their colleagues that what was said was classified and to trust them. It’s in the government records, go read it.

Meanwhile, Illinois State Senator Obama was busy doing legislative favors for his pals like Rezko and Ayers and ignoring poor people without heat and certainly wasn’t out there ringing the rafters of Trinity Church or the hallowed halls of the Illinois Senate with anti war speeches. Haven’t heard that he lent his voice to any protests either.

Obama didn’t have to be in the U. S. Senate to protest the war, the groups I marched with certainly weren’t but we managed to get our opinions in the media and were very aware that those with political clout by their presence brought media attention to the anti-war movement. We could have used Obama in those “free speech zones” but I guess he was too busy preparing for his Senate run after giving that one famous “against the war” speech.

Is Obama still working on his plan to have the translators transferred from Iraq to Afghanistan? And how are the poppy fields in Iraq doing? Is he going to stop by and see them when he visits next?

After McCain beats him in the GE, will Obama finally hold a hearing of the subcommittee he chairs that involves Afghanistan? If he ever visits Afghanistan, will he say how happy he is to be in Algeria?

As for his adult life and as a Presidential candidate how about his:

    - Years spent immersed Marxist, communist, socialist, racist associations and beliefs

    - Defense of the Trinity church’s rants and philosophies against all non-black people

    - General lackadaisical and smug attitude about simple patriotic customs

    - Years to the present spent in down and dirty Chicago Politics

    - Sparse, threadbare national political resume

    - Oratorical gifts being the only substantial, marketable asset

How can someone spend over twenty years stuck in this mindset and then, out of nowhere, become president of any country, let alone America.

This whole fiasco has echoes of 1932 Germany.

Certainly not all women are white, but they have formed the backbone of the democratic party especially in recent times.

    This was from
    http://www.democrats.org/a/2006/11/week_in_review_31.php

WOMEN VOTERS TO BE CREDITED FOR CHANGE
This year women once again made the difference by getting involved in campaigns, volunteering their time, working on the ground with state parties as part of the DNC’s 50 state program, and showing up and turning out at the polls.

According to exit polls, Democrats captured the majority of women’s votes in key Senate races, handing control of the US Senate back to Democrats. In key takeover Senate races such as Missouri, Montana and Virginia, a clear gender gap delivered those seats for Democrats. And in every Senate race held or won by Democrats, women voters voted in larger numbers than male voters AND gave a larger percentage of their vote to Democratic candidates. Learn more about the gender gap in the Senate races at the Center for American Women in Politics.

Democrats did well among many important subgroups of women, including unmarried women, which the Women’s Vote Center targeted through our TAKE SIX in ’06 outreach program. Sixty-five percent of all unmarried women voted for Democratic candidates and were 18 percent of the total electorate this cycle. According to Women’s Voices Women’s Vote, unmarried women turnout in states like Missouri and Ohio was even higher (19 and 21 percent respectively) providing even more votes for our winning Democratic teams.

Other subgroups of the women voters turned out for Democrats at higher levels than in 2004. Hispanic women increased their support of Democrats by 18 percent, young women (18-29) increased their support of Democrats by 14 percent, white women increased their support 8 percent and Independent women’s support increased by 12 percent. Reversing a trend from the 2004 election cycle, married women were almost as likely to vote for Democratic candidates as GOP candidates this cycle. [Emily's List, NYTimes]

    —————–
    That was 2006.
    This is 2008.

In 2006 white women voted for democrats at a 8% margin.

In 2004 GE out of total vote 54% were women and 46% men. Kerry (the corpse with the big “L” written on his forehead) actually got 52% of total women vote and still lost. That is because he could get only 44 % men, who generally vote much more republican, especially in Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Consider that 11 % of the national percentage is black, actually in the battleground states of ohio, PA, wisconsin, iowa, colorado, it is 5-10%.

Even if 100% of the AA voted for him, Nobama (with the big “L” written on his behind) has only a 51-49 lead among total women vote, even less than kerry and far far less than the 2006 through early 2008 when the dems were considered respectable by women.

Dems cannot win without women, white or black.

And this is just the beginning.

P.S. In case the obamabot mussulmans here don’t understand American usage, big “L” stands for loser.

Is he still trying to pass that 57 state thing off as a slip of the tongue? When he invades Canada and is in Ottawa, will he say how happy he is to be in Osaka?

It’s like those alternating days about watering the lawn — I can never keep up with which days he’s bombing and which days he’s talking without preconditions. But I guess when you lived in Indonesia when you were 10 and consequently are a big-time foreign policy expert, you know about these things.

certainly it is held in November. Remember Dukakis? He had a 17% lead at this point June 1988, was not behind like Nobama. And he lost.

The fact is from now on the next five months are going to be hell for Nobama because the RNC has gotten extraordinarily adept at mounting a negative smear campaign. And the have excellent material. In fact they may not be able to even use all the material.

Wisconsin, that Kerry took, is already gone republican. All that repubs have to do is take Michigan and NH, keep Ohio (the key to the election) and you guys are done. You can have PA, CO, NM, Iowa and even virginia and still lose. I doubt you will get all, it does not matter. This is a winner take all GE and loser goes home.

Lucky for him the DNC and MSM were looking out for him and pulling his little chestnuts out of the fire to steal the nomination for him. I don’t know if it has escaped you, but no woman has been President before. No woman has been Vice President before. No woman has been the nominee of one of the major parties for president before. Before Hillary Clinton, no woman had ever won a single primary in either party.

How could anyone presume to say she should have won. I don’t know if you have noticed, but political progress for women has moved VERY slowly (e.g. number of women in congress). Hillary has taken us light years ahead of where we were before this campaign. She grew stronger over the course of the primary season. By the end of the primaries, she had convinced the blue collar male electorate that she could be commander in chief. How dare anyone suggest this was inevitable.

Is that a thoughtful and civil enough manner for you? And don’t you just hate it when the educated voters who are against Obama prove that what you have been told by the Obamessiah is a bunch of BS?

Those you see following the Obamessiah are not Democrats, though the species may try to look similar. They are in fact nothing but JACKASSES!

you are correct, sir! my vote goes to mccain.

i voted for mcgovern, carter, carter, mondale, dukakis, clinton, clinton, gore, kerry. i’ve been loyal enough to the autocratic party. they have not returned the loyalty.

    screw ‘em.

if obambi’s nominated, i vote mccain. in fact, after obambi’s phony and premature victory celebration on tuesday, i went to mccain’s site and sent him a few dollars. i wanted the timing to reflect the intent. will be sending more, as each obnoxious move by dean, obambi, etc., takes place. will especially send more in the day of the nomination if our party goes through with the stupidity they plan.

if mccain is smart, he’ll report on not just the money he raises, but how much of it comes from hillary’s supporters. the dumbocrats think we’ll come around in november. they are indeed dumb!

and if enough of us do this, the cult will have to be ousted and we’ll get our party back.

You sound like a John Bircher or McCarthyite

And you sound like the Secretary of Education in Idiocracy.

Last I looked this was 2008

Ah, 2008, which will be forever known as the year of the greatest asskicking ever delivered in American politics, when John McCain made Barack Obama cry for his mommy and go back to doing community organizing (or community service if Rezko comes through).

  • Elizabeth

Messy Marcy: you sure are a mess! Why are you accusing Obama of having no brain? People in glass houses and all that…

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

But obviously you didn’t pattern your career after hers and obviously you don’t have crooked friends in high places like Obama or you wouldn’t be commenting from Gaza or some other sweatshop locale in behalf of The Inadequate One. I guess Obama does kind of take the heat off Texas, though, what with him being even more incoherent when speaking without a teleprompter than Bush is.

  • so saddened

    excellent!!!!!

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

will vote for the Democratic nominee.

Boy, you are drunk on koolaid. By the time McCain gets through with him, even Granny may not vote for Obama. Did you not notice that the longer the campaign went on, the lower his percentage of votes got? By the time the GE rolls around and people have had a few more months of him, he’ll be lucky to carry Illinois; and he probably wouldn’t do that if it were not for all those dead people who get to vote there.

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

Do you pull these statistics out of your Obamabutt ass? Has it occurred to you that we don’t care — that we recognize that Obama is a disastrous candidate and would make a disastrous President, so we will not vote for him?

  • anonimousvex

I agree with a lot of comments here that despicable things were said and continue to be said about Hillary. I sent my own emails to MSNBC when Chris Mathews was mouthing his tripe. Now there was misogyny. I will never say anything wrong about her. If she had prevailed I would be an enthusiastic supporter. I would be visiting the Obamabots sites wondering why they carried such anger. I know you say research Obama’s past. And I will as you have me interested, But just as it is unfair to smear Hillary for her past misteps, I think its also unfair to assume quilt by association. I want to bust my TV whenever some idiot gets on there and starts talking about some stupid comment about her (fill in the blank) These are right wing memes to win elections.

I have a son in the Navy, and I tell you what keeps me up at night is thinking about McCain with his finger on the trigger, its not just me who says that some of his close associates say the same thing. This is one of the most important elections in decades. One more supreme court judge swings the court completely to the far right a court we live with for the rest of our lifetime. Its your decision but this anger is mystifying in the face of what’s at stake. No candidate is perfect. I hated Kerry, but held my nose and voted for him.

  • so saddened

zimeeisme, is not rambling. is truth.

am with you. will vote mccain.

fully expect oblowme to paint mccain as too old, not really a war hero, racist, sexist, against women, corrupt, etc. – all the things that actually apply to oblowme. just like he did to hillary.

but oblowme’s audience this time won’t just be the dems and a few indies/crossover repubs that vote in primaries/caucuses. plus his bullshit won’t sound so “new” any more. and the rock star crap fades quickly. and the repubs won’t have to worry about being good team players.

so oblowme’s going to have it tougher. i look forward to watching. but this time, it will be an outsider’s view, as the dems don’t have me any more either.

  • Elizabeth

No maybe you should spend time reflecting on your hatred. and you hillary fans call the Obama supporters full of hate?? go look in the mirror messy…you will not be pleased with what you see.

  • so saddened

no, stodghie, voter didn’t have to actually type. he learned the art of copy and paste.

now if he could just learn to think.

  • so saddened

cb, hadn’t thought of it that way, but it’s an excellent approach!

if there’s a race that i haven’t had time to properly evaluate for myself, i’ll just figure out who the media are pushing and vote for that person’s opponent.

    EXCELLENT!

one thing we know for sure is that their interests and ours do NOT coincide.

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

Ding! Ding! Ding! Here’s the de rigueur racist accusation! Where’s Uppity to administer the prize? It took you long enough, Mike. You must be one of the second string trolls.

  • FL Dem

And yet not a single one of you can explain what Marxism is and how that applies to Obama. Not surprising because it DOESN’T. And again, if Obama and Clinton are alike on 95% of the issues, wouldn’t that make her a Marxist, too?

I don’t give a damn whether you vote for Obama or not. For every ignorant Dem who can’t get over their hurt feelings and will instead vote for Mcain, there will be another Independent, Republican or new voter ready to take your place.

See you in November… or better yet in January at Obama’s Inauguration. With or without you, it will happen. Get over it.

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

I know what side I’m on… do you?

Yes, we’re on the side that doesn’t disenfranchise voters, is not sexist, racist or homophobic and does not use race-baiting or strong arm tactics to steal elections. We used to be proud Democrats; but after Obama changed the party into something even worse than Republicans, we left and will be electing McCain President this fall. He’s not Hillary, but then thank God he’s better than Obama.

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

Why not consider what you’re going to do when Obama loses the GE and closes down that big old troll house and fires your ass? And we’re not the ones repeating ourselves. Don’t you care how boring it is when you just repeat the same old talking points over and over, especially when they are such obvious lies? Obama’s powerful friends have apparently successfully stolen the nomination for him. You can lie that Hillary was at fault all the way to the GE (when McCain is going to give Obama an ass-kicking so severe even you Obamabutts will feel it), but it will still be a lie.

And we enjoy calling you names because you are so deserving — anyone who backs an unelectable and unqualified bigot like Obama should be ashamed to even show her face in public, much less come on here and try to pretend to be civil.

You need to be doing something more productive with your time, like helping Obama prepare for life after his inevitable defeat this fall. Is Oprah going to have him on her show and chew him out about all the lies in his books? Or does she just do that to white people?

Is he going to stay in the Senate? Will he get the designated loser seat now used by Kerry? Will he be able to get another Post Office named?

Or will he finally make an honest man out of himself and go to work full time for one of the many special interests he has sold himself to while in office? I suggest Exelon — I think he’ll look good in green.

  • ken

Hillary will rise again. She plays by a higher set of rules than those made up by her own petty party for its own convenience. Now every democrat without principle is trying to cover this mess up and promote the party like it’s still an honorable organization. Having no conscience is the death knell for any political party.

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

Oh, look. It’s the bad troll. You’re late, dumbass. Voter has been having to carry the load all by herself, and frankly she hasn’t been doing a very good job. Of course, it doesn’t look like you’ll be much help to her. Your list of Obama supporters was pretty good, but you left out homophobes.

  • http://www.marcysmutiny.blogspot.com/ MessyMarcy

Oh, but we do have this country’s well-being at heart, which is why we will never vote for Obama, who makes George W. Bush look almost statesmanlike. McCain may not be our first choice, but Obama is so incompetent and bigoted that he will never be our choice.

Don’t you realize how embarrassing it must be for The Inadequate One for you to be on here begging for votes? Oh, but I forgot — he always has someone else do his dirty work for him.

It doesn’t matter anyway. We did what Donna Brazile told us to — we left the party; so if you want your guy to have any chance at all this fall, you better be out registering those twenty-nine million gazillion young, new voters Obama says he’s gonna get to vote for him. He still won’t win, but at least he might do better than Mondale.

  • It’s So Over

Hey, if you think McCain is better than Obama, then that’s cool. Vote your conscience and your interests. I’m not sure what that is considering McCain is the complete opposite of what Hillary supports. But do what you gotta do… just don’t forget to vote!

  • SueB.

Incumbant!? Hell, he was the Majority/Minority Leader. :/

  • annagain

Yes, I and many I know will be mailing in our new voter registration forms to switch to Independent on June 10th.

I think that says it all.

    Sumie
    Here’s from Wikipedia:

Mussulman, Musselman, Mussulmann, Musselmann, Musulman, Muselman, Musulmann, Muselmann may have one of the following meanings.
Musulman, “Muslim” in a number of languages (also used archaically in English as Mussulman, Musselman)

Only when you open your mouth ( or use your keyboard, I guess) people know that you are an idiot!

    Now go back to palestine.

  • Lydia Skloven

Elite means well-educated and knowledgable, as opposed to dummy.

  • DeniseB

I think If the primaries in Michigan and Florida had been allowed to take place as they were in S. Carolina & NH, Clinton would be the nominee.

The process was rigged to favor Obama. That’s why I’m no longer a Democrat.

  • DeniseB

Way to persuade us, Melissa. Keep up the good work.

  • Lou

She meant it for good. She wasn’t pandering. Pity you that you are so shallow as not to see it can help some people who really need relief in this failed economy. Granted there are people who are doing just fine but the mojority of Americans have been hit hard. A dollar has more meaning now and a gas tax relief makes a differnce for them and their bottom line. Pity that you rather be right than kind. 18 million Americans see and love Senator Hillary Clinton our former first Lady. She touched the lives of the people who could have benefitted from the gas tax relief even though to you and some others it is over your head. McCain also endorsed it.

  • http://showmestate sherri

The DNC made rules up. GIving waivers to other states but not Florida and Michigan. Talk about the rules what rules? He did not win by the people he won by super delagates.Someone on here said he was not elected but selected. Not the will of the people.
Its a disgrace how the DNC and the supers conducted this. She wins big and they shove Edwards the next day. No respect, none.
The Democratic party is a disgrace.
Michelle Obama said if you can’t run your own house you can’t run the white house. That would be the democratic house right?Or was it about Mrs. Clinton?

  • Dave

I can’t imagine that he did not have some secret service protection around, but I wasn’t looking for it. You’d have to ask some of my more observant friends about that.

I’m guessing he was driving for the sheer optics of it. I’m gonna vote for him, but that doesn’t mean I’m blind to politicking.

  • Melissa

I didn’t play any race card. I pointed out that the democrats were progressive enough to have two qualified candidates that were a Black man and a woman. The Black man won and you should proud of that just as you would be proud of a woman candidate. The only one playing a race card is you spinning my comment into a race issue.

Fabulous rant, Rabble Rouser. You spoke for a lot of us.

They treated this incredibly accomplished woman as if she was some pesky little fly the menfolk just couldn’t get rid of, who just kept hanging around.

    That’s it exactly.

    I love it!

  • David Axisrutt

He didn’t notice at first she was white. He was too busy sucking on his pakalolo. Woo-hoo.

  • YES HRC

If Hillary really is not the nominee after the Dem Convention in August (and I woke up this a.m. in a cold sweat that the incompetent dolt Nobama will be President of the United States), then I will WRITE IN HILLARY CLINTON’S NAME in November. I can’t vote for either one of those nitwits.

  • MikeB08

It is adding insult to injury that the MSM is getting so much mileage out of these “what went wrong” segment after segment since Sen. Clinton announced she would be suspending her campaign. These same media outlets have been pushing her out any way that they could for months and months, only now to fill airtime by trying to point the finger at everyone but themselves.

  • Patricia

Well go away if you don’t like it here

  • teachermom

Gee, and what was the consequence of Obama voting against Kerry’s bill to get out of Iraq, which he voted against…oh, no consequences. And how about BO’s votes in the Senate to keep up the funding? Oh, no problem. Clinton Derangement Syndrome in action.

  • zaz

Obama’s plans for winning over Hillary’s voters: 1) call us petty and childish 2) call us hysterical 3) Tell us to get over it, she deserved to lose 4) call us racist 5) ignore us and …(more) (164 replies) expect us to fall in line 6) threaten us with the loss of our reproductive rights 7) slap the bitches down. Did I miss any? I didn’t put being respectful and listening to our concerns on that list, because it clearly isn’t an option.
