PUNKED!

This nice lady in the video thinks she was punked. Here is why: “He’s just not as advertised,” she said. “Nothing’s changed for the common guy. I feel like I’ve been punked.” Video from this article.

Now contrast that video with the other videos of townhall meetings you have seen. It is the same emotion but devoid of anger. She says she got punked with a light laugh now but wait till she shows up at the next townhall meeting. I am almost certain she will never vote for the hope and change and Obama again. The liberal media lapdogs are slandering the latest protest events as GOP instigated mob reaction. Our own media personality DCMediaGirl fell for the same propaganda and wrote this comment on LisaB’s post: I know that many of these comment boards have been overtaken by GOP apologists, but this post is just all kinds of crazy. Do you honestly think that these demonstrations at the townhalls are just random outbursts? They’re about as spontaneous as the Code Pink stupid human tricks on the Hill.

Even as astute an observer as DCMediaGirl has been brainwashed by the likes of Maddow at MSNBC and other liberal media outlets that she openly disparaged a fellow NQ writer’s post on this topic as “just all kinds of crazy“. We will let her ponder over how long it will be before that woman in the video above who voted for Obama will show up at a protest meeting. After all the woman had the nerve to say on national media that she got punked. Why would it surprise anyone that there will be many more like her who feel like they were taken for a ride and that they are angry about it?

And how about one more video for the media. The man in the video, a registered Democrat (I will take his word for it), is right — a few weeks on healthcare reform versus more than six months for a dog. And one more thing, all he needs is a Code Pink tutu.

There you have it. People are watching not just the GOP.

Here is a bonus. Ooops! It is from the National Review. Consider the source. But read the article, Guy Benson in Obama:Master of ‘Manufactured Outrage’. If it is any consolation, he is citing this other article from 2007 by Ryan Lizza from the leftie, The New Republic in his post. All the signs were there and more — some of us caught on to it and some others didn’t. They now feel they have been punked.

Now that ordinary Americans are rising up to voice their concerns before Congress tries to ram through a complex and risky healthcare overhaul, the party run by our Organizer-in-Chief has resorted to slandering those citizens and dismissing the authenticity of their worries.

Obama knows what manufactured outrage looks like. After all, he spent years as a skilled outrage manufacturer. Today’s frustration, however, is organic, real, and growing. Therefore, from Obama’s perspective, it’s extraordinarily threatening and must be stopped at all costs.

Now, is it possible that REAL people not GOP are nervous and confused? Bonus video of WSJ’s Kelsey Hubbard (HT to Hillaryis44.org)

All we are asking for is be straight with us. Give us the damn information and do the right thing. Trust, a wonderful commodity in a democracy needs to be earned not demanded.

Just on a personal note, my younger son who voted for Obama, was very enthusiastic [but then lied and told me he'd voted HRC during the primaries and McCain at the GE, only to admit the truth later] called the other day and said: I think I’m changing my registration to Republican.

Really made me laugh. I said, “What? You’ve given up on Obama after 6+ months?” And he said, “I’ve just about given up on everything. And what is this craziness with Cash for Clunkers?”

I did not have an answer.

Now, he’s the financial whiz of the family and he admits–he cannot make heads or tails over this whole economic program. He’s finally admitted that the Obama administration is either crazed or a bunch of desperate liars [I support the latter].

But I did suggest if he was serious about switching political affiliations, go with the “I,” the Independents.

Because frankly, I don’t trust either party at this point. So, this is another Obama voter [my son] who feels sorely punked!

I think the numbers are growing exponentially.

    • Ani

Peggy Sue, Thank you for sharing this. While on the one hand I am deeply sorry to hear it because of the ramifications for our country, it is certainly vindicating after all the insults we had to ensure for calling it like we saw it for the last year and a half.

      • Peggy Sue

I tried to tell him, Ani :o ).

Yes, it is something of a vindication. Unfortunately, as you pointed out, it does not solve the growing mess we’re facing with no true leadership at the helm.

    • Sammie

I don’t trust either party either. Both parties have been playing their constituents as fools for years. They match their rhetoric to what they think we want to hear, and then they serve themselves and their monied supporters. Their wives (with Bayh, Obama and Dodd as a few examples) end up serving on boards and they essentially engage in pay to play (or pay to legislate).

      • Ani

        Agreed.

    • mary

      Yes!

INDEPENDENT PARTY is the best way to go!

The ex-Democrats have lost their validity.
The Republicans are way over the top and would dismantle Social Security and Veterans Ins and Medicare and Medicaid if they were given the chance! They are too backward and don’t see why U.S. is #37 on health ranking, one below COSTA RICA!

Only Hillary would be able to inform the public, give them info, tell them WHY this is so important for the country’s solvency. 62% of bankruptcies are due to medical bills! In Canada, not one person files bankruptcy. National Health care costs 1/3 of U.S. and everyone is happy with it. Don’t listen to the Republicans on this, please! They should have been really concerned when Bush and Obummer gave trillions to the CORPORATE WELFARE BUMS OF WALL ST.
Rubin, Clinton’s idiot Treasurer and Larry Summers the sexist jerk repealed the regulatory scheme of FDR in l999 and Rubin got a lawsuit for $122 Billion same day Madof did! For defrauding shareholders! And Obummer gives these thugs prominent posts!!!

  • Steve_in_KC

Are you calling our Fraud in Chief a punk? No, of course not. You wouldn’t do that.

    BUT I WOULD!

    From Dictionary.com:

    punk  [puhngk]
    –noun
    1. Slang.
    a. something or someone worthless or unimportant.
    b. a young ruffian; hoodlum.
    c. an inexperienced youth.
    d. a young male partner of a homosexual.
    e. an apprentice, esp. in the building trades.
    f. Prison Slang. a boy.

    Which one fits best?

    • Cindy

I’d like to buy a vowel, Pat!!!

    • TeakWoodKite

Like the song says “all of the above”.

Freaks of the Obama Industries Inc.

I see it as another step in America growing up. Our “idol” culture brought us the pinnacle of an empty golden idol that was to be worshipped without question.

Personally, I’m glad those who opposed such an empty symbol for corruption are being joined by those who are feeling PUNKED. The whole country got punked!

    • oowawa

      The whole country got punked.

Indeed, Buzz. And I understand this according to this definition from the Urban Dictionary:

      punked

While detained in a prison or jail, to be raped by a fellow inmate.
In the middle of the night, three inmates punked the new guy next to his bed.

      i.e., screwed against one’s will

      • Onofre’s arm

Under punked, Roget’s Thesaurus has “11/4/08, Tarp, Stimulous, Acorned, Misogynised, Baracked against the wall, Franked, Groin kicked, 1/20/09, Swindled, Pelosied, and O-boned” Does this help?

        • Elizabeth

LOL. Assuming this is also a woman that falls for the “trick” of taking a nap in her underwear because the guy says it is uncomfortable to sleep clothed, she is either totally naive or is really wanting to have sex without saying that she does because she is spineless IMO.

In short, you can’t protect people who don’t take responsibility from themselves, or their poor decisions.

          • http://deleted BuzzisbackLatte

So does that mean obots are taking responsibility for their POOR DECISION?

            Otherwise…HUH?

            • Elizabeth

Like I said, pleading “fooled” or “punked” are only weasal words for “naive in the extreme.” These people may be “nice” or “angry” or whatever, but most of all they’re deserving of all that they will get from Obama, plus some.

    • Steve_in_KC

Idol or Idle? American Idle, as in “unemployed,” fits far too many people these days.

Even many people lucky enough to have some kind of job are working at part time McJobs or under-the-table arrangements with no benefits or security. And taking it one step further, many people who have full-time jobs are losing benefits, losing job security, and losing the option to find a better job.

But fear not! Our new government has a fix for all this unemployment! It’s called “deficit spending!” We don’t need no steenking jobs! We’ve got a limitless government credit card, supplied by the Chinese Communists! Nothing to worry about!

And once we cripple the insurance industry, handcuff the medical industry, and bring the pharmaceutical industry to its knees with our “medical insurance reform” program, we’ll be sitting pretty, like flies on a heap of…

What’s brown and sounds like a bell?

      DUNG!

      • http://deleted BuzzisbackLatte

Obama sees the US as the idle…his kind of oppressed people. Those idle and oppressed people want his brand of corruption…socialism or call it communism.

The more he presses his agenda the more it becomes evident that he really has no idea who Americans are and what America is as a whole.

Obama is perhaps the most out of touch president we’ve EVER had.

        • Fozzie

Could it be because he has never held a real job? How could he be the chief executive of the United States of America when he has never managed anything? These people didn’t get punked. They have no common sense that they didn’t understand that he cannot suddenly run a large enterprise without working his way up and they wouldn’t listen to us more wise citizens with life experiences.

        • oowawa

Obama is perhaps the most out of touch president we’ve EVER had.

Well, when you wear a halo, as has been made clear by many many illustrations and photographs, you’re way up there, and you’ve got to be a litte bit out of touch . . .

        • mary

Are you really serious? You got it wrong. Obama is no socialist or communist. He’s given TRILLIONS TO WALL STREET CORPPORATE WELFARE BUMS! He’s a Wall Street/Military arms and War in Afgahanistan kind of boy!
He’s also a Fascist who will send his thugs to silence those who object to his dictatorship of the Elite Moneyed Corp[orate Chiefs who got him there. How ya think he got there “beating” (stealing) the Nomination from Hillary anyway? Only a Manchurian Candidate could do this who had the SAME BACKING AS BUSH! it’s all about the money.
the whole HealthCare fiasco was not handled properly. He should have done more homework! People now have a right to be scared. Why take 400 billion from the elderly’s Medicare?
TAKE THE MONEY FROM THE WALL STREET PUNKS! Fire Geinter, Larry Summers and prosecute Rubin who repealed Glass Steagall and regulatory process that allowed the corporate bums to raid the treasury!
No, Obummer is no Socialist. Wish he were “Democratic Socialist”. That’s what they have in Sweden, uk, and Canada–and their Health system doesn’t let anyone file bankruptcy for a surgery!!

          • mary

Sorry, it should read: “Social Democrat” not “socialist”!! There’s a world of difference….

      • oowawa

Steve, this is a really funny comment and provides many tempting opportunities for riffing, the best of which will get me charged as a racist–so I’ll refrain! These lines are classic:

Our new government has a fix for all this unemployment! It’s called “deficit spending!” We don’t need no steenking jobs! We’ve got a limitless government credit card, supplied by the Chinese Communists! Nothing to worry about!

        • Steve_in_KC

oowawa, you don’t need to worry about being charged as a racist. You are not an Obot, which means you are automatically considered a racist.

          :D

          • oowawa

I forgot about that! How liberating!

  • Tex-Mex Soup

steny hoyer “I’ve been in this BUSINESS a long time”. Yup thats the problem, aholes like hoyer are businessmen at the taxpayers expense. Hopefully this backlash will continue and these scumbags will get voted out of office.

    • Ani

But someone new has to be willing to run against them. And have the dough and the visibility. I wanted to get Kerry out and supported his primary challenge but he got drowned in an avalanche of $$$$.

How do we overcome this? My congressman ran unopposed last time. He could give a crap if I withhold my vote.

      • socalannie

Sickening. Its why we need true, honest campaign finance reform. It really sucks that the rich cannot be beaten.

Two of my friends who voted for him have gone sour on the President. One, like this woman, admits she fell for the ‘Hope’ b.s.

Another accused me of voting for ‘that idiot Palin.’ Now he tells me ‘Obama has a left-wing agenda.’ Excuse me, the Weather Underground launched his political career. Didn’t they report that on SNL?

    • Steve_in_KC

Nobody get their news from SNL anymore. Now it’s Jon Stewart with “The Daily Show.” NQ had a story on that recently, I think. ;)

  • Cindy

    Excellent post. Thank you.
At least this woman is honest about her disappointment in Obama. (None of my friends who voted for him are anywhere NEAR ready to say they were wrong). Since having bad dating experiences seems to be upsetting to her(which is normal!), I’d say that most of her feelings for Obama were probably more of a “crush” than an embrace of his political philosophy. So, in essence, she feels like he is breaking up with her, and it’s painful.
I really do applaud her honesty! It’s refreshing.

  • HARP

She should not feel bad. The whole dim-a-crat party got punked.

  • wbboei

    Question: what is 1/20/09

Answer: the dividing line between what people who voted for Obama hoped for and what they actually got.

He is the living embodiment of the Chicago Machine which is a handshake between the machine, the far left and the new economy segment of the elites. He is not a liberal, not a conservative he is a company man bought and paid for. The irony of course is that he bamboozled progressives into supporting a big city machine politican, which is normally what progressives fight against. They got taken. So did the african americans too if you think about it. His ancestors were slave traders not slaves. The behind the scenes guys must be in stitches.

    • tzada

      Bingo! You got it right.

  • Touchet

see, this is what is happening with Obama. Most of the people that voted for Obama thought they would get something for nothing. People making 30,000 a year thought they were considered poor. They never realized that they would be taxed. They really thought that only people making over 250,000 or more would be taxed, and then only a small percent.

They were all fooled. The final nail in coffin will come when they fill out their taxes next year.

The people who voted for Obama are selfish. They want it all for themselves without having to sacrifice nothing. The minute it started to cost them some personal sacrifice, it was all over.

    • Chicago

wait until they start pushing for a VAT (value added tax) Tax which would only hurt the poor and the middle class more than the rich.

  • wbboei

Here is a small part of a white paper I wrote on this very subject. See if you agree.
    ———————————————–
For these and other reasons, his poll numbers have started to drop. Conservatives see how dramatically he has changed our system of representative government and free enterprise in six short months. They worry that he will become a dictator. They also see how he stumbled badly in his dealings with Russia. Thinking liberals are enraged at how he has betrayed the promises he made to them as a candidate with respect to FISA, public funding of elections, expanded the war in Afghanistan, etc. They now worry that he will become Bush III. Independents see the problems confronting our country, and are increasingly skeptical of his solutions. They worry that he will turn a recession into a depression, undermine sovereignty and compromise our security. These concerns are real and palpable, yet Big Media and his “hopium” addled supporters refuse to acknowledge them.

The threshold question relates to Obama himself: how does a man with a missing past, a thin resume and a phantom voting record rise so quickly through the power structure, garner astronomical sums of campaign money and be gifted the presidency? Why does Big Media promote him blindly and destroy his opponents as Pew studies have shown? Do you really believe it is because he is black, went to Harvard Law School, and is more literate than Bush? There is no precedent for this in our history. Those questions were relevant during the campaign. They were not answered because he was never really vetted. They are critical now because they can help us anticipate where he will take the country provided we are vigilant.

    2. The Real Obama: if you examine the record as a whole, the answer becomes obvious: Obama is an agent of the Chicago Machine aka “The Chicago Way”; this machine is a government-business-radical left cartel; its strategic objective is to monopolize economic and political activity within a geographic sphere; it is tied to the “new economy”; it engineered a hostile take-over of the Democratic Party with the support of global money, the radical left (black liberation, anti-war groups and academia) and the repayment of an ancient debt owed to it by the Kennedy family since the 1960 election; it rigged the primary through the DNC and ACORN; it engaged in major race baiting as described by Professor Wilentz; the immediate goal is to expand its power base nation-wide and establish one party rule, an all powerful executive and reduce key provisions in the Constitution and Bill of Rights to a hollow shibboleth; its ultimate aim is create an efficient global market and to leverage the power of our government to help it seize economic opportunities here and around the globe, e.g. Africa, since trade inevitably follows the flag; it created “brand Obama” to break down racial, cultural and ideological barriers to its expansion; it markets brand Obama aggressively through junk politics, celebrity culture, and subliminal messaging; it uses scorched earth Alinsky methods on the ground, in the corporate controlled media and over the internet to destroy opponents; it is using our present economic crisis, which is quite real, as a pretext to consolidate its power; as such, it poses a clear and present danger representative democracy, liberty, private enterprise and the survival of the middle class.

    3. The Relevant Evidence: that is the plausible explanation for the meteoric rise of Mr. Obama to the presidency. It reconciles the many contradictions between what he says and what he does, in ways that conservative or liberal labels simply cannot do. And, most important, it provides a reference point for how he will govern the country.

    • Onofre’s arm

      White paper??? You racist.

    awesome.

maybe that obama supporter is just racist now? HA

It amazes me how people can become so hateful and angry towards friends, family, loved ones, to support/defend a guy they don’t even know, or who hadn’t even accomplished anything to justify their undivided loyalty and support.

    • pm317

That is so true about family and friends.

At least she admitted on camera she was taken for a ride. For that little bit she deserves some credit. I don’t think the hard core Dems and Obots will change anytime soon.
