Don’t Feed the Trolls

I fully understand the emotional drive to respond to unfair, malicious attacks on Hillary. There are clearly folks posting at Noquarter who exist for no other reason than to stir the pot. Please ignore them. In the past, I have responded to some of these folks. No more. Big offenders will be banned. Let’s recognize that your average troll is genuinely not interested in a dialog.

I will note I’ve had some excellent inquiries and exchanges with folks like ThereisnoSpoon, a poster at Daily Kos. Always happy to engage in substantive exchanges. But name calling and insults. I’m on the wagon.

  • standard

I believe I remember thereisnospoon on Democratic Underground as well.

My posting privileges were abruptly revoked from : Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, and MyDD.

This was after being called “fuckwad” and every name for supporting HRC.

So I would prefer to see less of B. Hussein Obama’s followers, than more here.

  • Danny

Big Brown comes in LAST. I guess now Obama will distance himself from the horse. I’m glad the horse wasn’t hurt. But really saw that coming – BIG BUILD UP for NOTHING. Obama will go out the same way sadly enough. He doesn’t have what it takes for a triple crown win either.

  • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com/ Gloria

What do the trolls think of this?

“So, She Didn’t Release Her Delegates and Obama Played Golf…and CNN Has Apparently SCRUBBED the Report that He Left His Home Carrying Golf Clubs and Was so Hurried in Posting a Substitute Line that They Posted it TWICE (Saying He Watched on the Internet)…BIG UPDATE #1″

    http://tinyurl.com/3jzdpm
So Obama didn’t watch Hillary’s speech, but was off playing golf, according to a post at the Taylor Marsh site…the FINAL INSULT??? What a TOTAL ASSHOLE this guy is! Without handlers, he has a political tin ear…oh, but he has the media hiding that fact for him…

I searched for the story to confirm the post and found this on the Scroogle results, which I’ve saved along with the substitute story:

    2. CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Barack Obama …

“June 7, 2008. Obama reacts to Clinton speech. Posted: 02:43 PM ET … He was seen shortly before the speech leaving his home in Chicago with golf clubs. …”

    politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/category/presidential-candidates/barack-obama/

But when I went to the story posted at 2:43 ET, I found this line, but no mention of golf….In fact, they were so hurried in their editing that they apparently put a new line in TWICE:

Obama watched Clinton’s speech over the Internet on a computer, a campaign aide said. He put in a call to Clinton afterward, but was told by a Clinton assistant that she was speaking with supporters.

In the final minutes of the speech, a top Obama strategist was pleased with the message, saying there was “no ambiguity” about her support for the presumptive Democratic nominee.

The strategist characterized the speech as “very generous” and said that he “appreciates it’s hard.”

Obama watched the speech over the Internet, a campaign aide said. He put in a call to Clinton afterward but was told by a Clinton assistant that she was speaking with supporters.

If this is the same story, then there’s been a scrubbing…

AND THERE IS AN UPATE, with this Scroogle search now coming up with 1:53 pm ET…but no mention of golf OR internet if you follow that one…

You can’t blame her for taking the Thugman’s money at this point to pay her debt. There’s not a whole lot she can do at this point except play it smart. If she can get out of her debt from Obamabot money and then take advantage of the video release later this year, it will work out perfectly

“The way to continue our fight now – to accomplish the goals for which we stand – is to take our energy, our passion, our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama the next President of the United States.” –Hillary Clinton, June 7, 2008

  • JMC

At least call an elephant an elephant.

Don’t delude yourselves into thinking you ever supported Hillary or her causes if you’re on the McCain bandwagon.

Universal Health Care – a cornerstone of Hillary’s political career. McCain opposes it, and Obama supports it. Do you want Hillary’s health care bill signed into law, or vetoed?

Pro-Choice – Hillary has spent 40 years fighting for women’s rights, including the right to choose. Do you want Supreme Court justices that will overturn Roe vs Wade, or uphold it?

Economic Reform – Hillary supports a middle-class tax cut. McCain wants permanent Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. Hillary wants to close tax loopholes for the oil companies, and McCain wants to leave them wide open.

Education Reform – Hillary and Obama both want higher wages for teachers, elimination of No Child Left Behind, and making tuition easier to afford for students (including veterans through the new GI Bill). McCain opposes all those positions.

If you support McCain, more power to you. But Hillary would be insulted to be associated with a group of turn-coats like you. Don’t dishonor her 40 years of hard work by calling yourself Hillary supporters.

  • Dakinikat

You would think “Clinton dead-enders”, “hysterical Hillary women”, and “bitter gun-toting, religion clinging racists” would be deserving of less attention. I’m still pretty amazed at all the hostility we still get since they wrote us all off as irrelevant months ago. Must be something of a cognitive dissonance experience since the momentum is not with the presumed nominee (sic).

  • Danny

Hey I was kicked out off of AmericaBlog and Crooks and Liars after posting on those two blogs for more than four years.

I boycott the lot of them now and they have no chance of ever getting my traffic back. I don’t ever want to see “you’ve been banned from posting” on a Liberal “Progressive” blog again… They are not democratic or free speech zones if you support another Democrat that they don’t. You see the Obamamites bots nuts whatever you call them they are “evil” and continued to spread malice towards Hillary, Bill and Chelsea Clinton and all those who supported them. I’ll never get back into the Democratic Party – those people are not company I want to keep up with. Most of them are Republicans in exile anyway – they are stealing the Democratic Party because they all come from the insiders clubs. I have found new blogging grounds and those other blogs are fading fast because of the choices they made.

Yes, it’s been clearly shown that any kind of reinforcement…even negative reinforcement, only encourages repeat behavior in rats.

She did what she had to do, I will do what I have to do … makes no difference any way since Obama will lose the general election. She will be in a great position four years from now.

  • Dakinikat

I have a few words as answer to that one:

Veto proof Congressional and Senate Majority.
Veto proof Congressional and Senate Majority.

Some of the analysis I have been reading is pointing the fact that the Dem’s can’t reach veto proof majority.

I am wondering what input Senator Clinton will have in the next four years.

One of the most admirable qualities she has is her tenacity and perseverance. She said I am not be invisible. I take her at her word.

A little comic relief from The Guardian, UK

Barack Obama is spending the weekend in Chicago with no public engagements, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be busy. True, last night he was planning a relaxing date with his wife (and that secret service guy who’s always hanging around in the background) followed by a bike ride today with his family (and that secret service guy who’s always hanging around in the background). But tonight the Obamas will play host to eight seven-year-olds, arriving for a sleepover to celebrate their daughter Sasha’s birthday. “These kids are planning to make pizza, so who knows what our kitchen will look like,” Obama told USA Today. “They shouldn’t call them sleepovers. They should call them wakeovers.” Obama’s weekend plans go some way to underline the fact that he is a regular guy, not a calculating politician, which was presumably exactly the effect intended by chief strategist David Axelrod when he came up with the whole sleepover idea.

So, David Axelrod came up with the whole sleepover idea? Too funny! They just can’t stop playin’ us.

Oh so suddenly anything Hillary has to say matters to you. Hillary is no longer in this race and I look to my original goal, which is to do all I can to keep the Marxist Barack Obama from becoming president. As it is he became the nominee the Chicago Way + DNC Affirmative Action. Fortunately there is no point spotting in General Elections.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

Seriously, when possible, let’s do ignore the trolls and get back to some discussion.

Otherwise, it’s just letting them win. It’s too boring.

  • jessie

Yes, sad. I did not watch the speech. I am sure Obama/Marxist was watching the speech cuz he was probably shitting on himself afraid she would say he was an “inadequate black male” (gotta love Harriett).

I wish she would have said what she really feels about him and we all know she just said what she did because they asked or told her to.

I respect Hillary but that Obama/Marxist will never get my vote.

They could emblam McCain and put him up against Obama/Marxist and I would still vote for him.

American people will see that this “messiah” is nothing but an empty affirmative action vessel for others to proceed with their agenda.

Don’t delude yourselves into thinking you ever supported Hillary or her causes if you’re on the McCain bandwagon.

Don’t delude yourself into thinking you are so important as to be able to tell us anything that we are thinking. And do yourself a favor, take “universal healthcare” off your list. Obama’s plan is useless. fortunately I cut and paste my reasons now because you Obama people show up posting the same horse shit over and over again and act like you are original.
Obama’s health care plan is useless. I shows either a clear lack of understanding of the relationship between states and the Health Insurance Industry which owns the leglislators……or it’s a hoax. You pick.

And telling someone proudly that you will reduce the yearly cost of health insurance by $2500 shows a REAL lack of understanding of exactly how much a single pay health insurance policy costs. In my state, you would pay 2k Per Month for an family HMO policy that will surely let you die if you sign on and get sick. And that’s a fact. I can assure you that a family that can’t afford $24,000 a year can’t afford $21,500 a year. A single pay for a single person for that same policy is roughly $900 per month. Giving “incentives” to states is tanatamount to giving the health insurers another freebee, while they still raise the rates double digits to make up for the people barack Obama says don’t have to get insurance.

This is not universal health care. In fact, John Mccain will give me a $5k write off. Hell, I’m better of with his plan.

As for pro Choice, another “original” obama idea, I will post my response to that below this.

  • Uppity

Moving right along, here is my response to your “original” comment about Pro Choice:

Any woman who falls for this sexist pig is already in danger of losing her rights as a complete person. Roe v Wade is the least of their worries after that happens and Sweetie starts setting the Example for the workplace.

If my younger sisters lose Roe Wade it will be their own fault for taking the rights they have for granted, because they didn’t fight for them. They are complacent and can take the time to swoon over a sexy empty suit who has already set gender relations back a minimum of 30 years, and we haven’t even gotten to the General Election campaign yet. Serves them right. Not my problem. I know how not to get pregnant.

It’s my job to protect the rights I fought for that matter to me. This is a misogynist’s campaign and if younger women are too busy spawning over Leland Gaunt handing out Needful Things and discussing his vibrating phone when he leans on one of them, then they will have to learn to take the consequences of their own folly along with the consolations. Maybe then they will Get It. I have already done well in my life. Complacency is their enemy, not mine. They don’t appreciate what the previous generation of women went through so that they could spawn for Obama, and they don’t deserve our help any longer. Let em eat vibrating cell phones.

The Obomists have much to learn.

Being from MA I can tell you his pal Deval, who ran an identical campaign full of beautiful words, has exposed himself to be an impostor. Sixteen month’s of invisibility and empty rhetoric has the state legislature distancing themselves from the vehicle for “hope and change”. I can tell you just how much his endorsement of Barry pissed many of us off, don’t expect anything other than self absorption in the coming months.

Personally, no. I’m convinced I have much more to gain from moderates from both parties, so I’ll be looking for solid Republican and Democrat and other people to vote in.

I’m done with being a straight-ticket Democrat. I’m frankly embarassed that I was so duped for so long.

So no, I’m going Independent. I’ll keep an open mind on all the races. Obama, I’ve heard for a year. He’s not worthy of the presidency. That I’m sure.

I’m listening to McCain, but I’ll also listen to the Green Party, too.

But I’m sure of this. I’m no longer a REAL Democrat. LOL* I heard that stupid insult slung all year from the so-called “progressives.”

This day makes me feel nostalgic like this song:

    enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNwTwj0wTh4&feature=related

Have anyone of you have thought in how we can send a strong message to the media, the marketers, the local and cable channels by not watching ‘their news program’, ‘their shows’, anyway they do not bring us news with a fair perspective, they are already in favor of Oblame. Imagine what happens if we many of those 18 million stop watching their tv news, shows, not buying their bias newspapers. Not buying the products announced in their programs.

Since we are the invicible people for them, we can do that for one day or two days, to disappear, not going to work, not shopping mall, no restaurants, no magazines, no movie theaters, no theater, no bar, no bowling, no bingo, no billiards, as I suggest to Susan, ‘the day or two day’ the hillarians dissapeared. No place where to find them.
Not even in the cyber world.

Anyway we have the Internet and can have the stupid news from the cyber world if we feel the need for it, same we can watch movies and shows in the Internet. Remember that at the time we press “on” in our dvrs, Arbitron is taking ‘ratings’, same with listening to those talk radio shows, anyway we know by memory ‘their routines’,. We can be sure if something juicy happens like the ‘so called damaging tape appears’ we will know. Think we can hurt them there. We don’t need to continue watching news about Obama, and the detractor commentators on tv being paid millions for smearing and bashing Hillary and her supporters, the ‘invicible and unwelcome scolded ones’

We have power people, but we have to get united, to see Hillary to have to throw her supporters under the bus in order to follow orders from the DNC, was sad very sad for me. She did not have to accept that. She could easily defy them and if that could end with her being part of the DNC, I would be happy to see that, than to watch her being sad and defeated by being forced to play nice with Oblame, by asking us to endorse and support Obama, when she has based her campaign to liberate us from the unelectable diz senator. He was unelectable 17 months ago Hillary you can ask us now to see him as the electable one in order to recover the White House. You are supporting a man that you well know is ‘gamer’ ‘a weasel’ not a righteous politician.

Hillary you do not belong to a party, you belong to you to your principles, projects, they are you, you do not sell for less.

No Hillary, no, if that is a strategy, people will take decisions that later will be too late for them to come back to you, this is not you, Hillary ‘same old politician, securing your seat in the senate’.

No you were supposed to be defiant till the end, we are fighters like you. That speech did not suit you. It was a departure from you, you have thrown yourself under the bus too for the good of a party that disrispect you?

I wish you reflect Hillary in what you have said and have asked us to do. We are abandoned now!

This blog hasn’t been scrubbed yet…but it looks like this golf thing/snub might have been planned. Not sure why Ms Marshall knows about it, but at 11:59 am, when this story was posted by the NYT, she knew about the golf story.

    http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/07/waiting-for-clinton/

“Brittany Marshall, a 27-year-old architect, was among the exceptions. She switched her support to Mr. Obama sometime last year, she said, and arrived here in hopes of him making a surprise visit in the sake of party unity.

“I thought Barack might come!” Ms. Marshall confided, speaking softly surrounded by a group of Clinton supporters. “But my friends in Chicago told me that he’s there golfing today.” “

I vote for the person who I believe can do the job the best not based on speeches from teleprompters written by other people, but by past actions and accomplishments. Given Barrack Obama appears to be in a deficit position on that one, I cannot give him my vote. I will also NOT be supporting my Congressman William Jefferson because he’s basically a crook waiting for the sentence. I’m not sure who is running against him. Last time I voted for a black democratic woman. This year, who knows… I will vote against him because he is a crook. Just as I will vote against Obama because he is really is not fit for the position. I don’t vote based on party line. I vote for who I think will best do the job.

First of all, a veto proof house and senate isn’t likely even if Obama wins. It is even less likely if people here keep attacking him and McCain wins.

And even if there were those margins, not all Democrats would vote against a veto particularly since if McCain wins, he’d try to claim some sort of mandate.

  • Karma

Not sure how valid this is since I didn’t hear it.

    Liberals like this guy why?

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

Larry, I like that you let the insolent OBOTS have their say, no matter how insolent and small minded they get. It must frustrate the hell out of them that they cannot shut out the criticism of their messiah on this site.

I cannot believe the number of posts I’ve seen here from people who have been shut out of other sites for criticizing the Chosen One. I was locked out on ABC news with 6 different email addresses. I did not realize how concerted the OBOTS effort was to silence all opposition.

Obama’s stated positions may be similar to Hillary’s, but she would have worked to implement her policies. He will not. Just as he screwed over the Maytag workers and his constituents re Exelon and even the freezing tenants in Rezko’s apartments, he would not honor any promises he makes in regard to the policies he copied from Hillary.
