McCain's wife, Cindy, refuses to disclose her tax information, citing her right to privacy. She's known to have a net worth in excess of $100 million. McCain has more industry lobbyists on his campaign staff than Obama and Hillary did combined. I don't know about you, but I'm uncomfortable with this. While McCain was the only Senator involved in the Keating Five scandal not to be recommended for censure for improper conduct, he was also the one who received the most campaign money from the Keating family--$112,000. More corporate lobbyists than you can shake a stick at, a history of contributions from people wanting to buy influence, and a wife who won't disclose her finances. I don't like that combination.

Sorry - Obama is not an option, not in a time of multiple wars on multiple fronts and his incompetence on foreign affairs. McCain will be bad, that's why voting for him is the shortest route to a Hilary presidency in 2012. People will remember and come back with a vengeance in voting for her - do what they will - they can not overthrow a huge majority in the DNC and there is NO ONE right now who even has the slightest bit of chance against Hillary. Throwing your vote away for a third party is not an alternative as this gives Obama a chance at the white house - I rather see McCain there then let the neo-liberals take over the Democratic Party.

This isn't going far enough. Obviously we can't in good conscience vote for any of the majority of democratic congressional representatives who now openly support Obama. We can only make our point by voting a straight republican ticket. That'll show them where we really stand!

Like somebody said, the democratic party is dead anyway.

But the question in regard to the power dynamics was interesting, and accurate.

Perhaps unintentional, but accurate.

I think there are already power struggles within Obama's campaign.

I don't see it that way, I just try to tell the truth, and stay above board.

I wont vote for either, schemes don't work in the long run, and seem to drown those who engage.

The stupid always, always do themselves in...

They have no use for moderate Democrats, which is why they must try to bully us through guilt and other ridiculas means for our votes.

I have no use for them, either. So it works both ways.

Obama steals, anyone who ignores Rezko does so at his own peril.

Obama is not a good guy.

Ok, how long before the backlash, from team O?

"He's not the guy we thought he was..."

I agree. I read on several "progressive" blogs that "we" have our party back now. "It is again the true progressive party it once was. The Clinton brought it to the center."

The Clintons have their finger on the pulse of this nation and understand that the majority of us are center not radical left. That's why they're out.

A little dream.
I have a small dream that Americans will educate themselves and really vote out of hope instead of fear. Just say NO to the fear that somehow, voting for who represents us best will magically make the worst one win.

I think it's fair to say I only know much about three of the choices we are likely to have.
1. McCain, American Vet, Militaristic and Republican.
2. Obama, Liar, False Purveyer of Dreams, Scam Artist, Thug and Democrat. Probably Militant, Definately Wishy Washy, but in no way Dumb, just Arrogent.
3. Nader, Crotchety Champion of Consumer and American Rights and Safety, Disrupter and Deluded Hopeful. I would call him a Libertarian, but to be honest, I am only familiar with him in terms of issues, some of his noble and believable history, and not really his affiliation.

I'm sure we could have more options, but these are what I am familiar with. I think this whole smokescreen on Obama to make us swallow him whole is masking a frightening motive, to trick us into thinking things are fixed without changing anything. I don't like McCain, and his seeming stance that only some people are human. I may be too lazy or complacent for Nader though.

Either way, my hope is just once, we will take off the masks, look at our candidates, and hear no fear based dillusion that choosing whoever represents us best, is throwing away our votes, because that's supposed to be the whole point of voting, to determine the will of the people, and not play tricky politics ourselves, manipulating others into thinking they don't have a true choice that matters as well.

Are you saying that Taylor Marsh was suggesting her commenters squeal on each other? But how was she suggesting they do that? And why? and to whom? (sorry for all the questions, just curious) That's unbelievable.

Jim,
It's so discouraging to for people to say "a vote for Green or Nader" is a vote for whatever the worst choice is. If you're for Democrats, somehow it makes the Republics win, and Vice Versa appearantly now. That is so irrational.

How can a mind be so twisted and beaten down that voting for the best choice is always the worst choice? It's only if people who think like that, that makes it true in any way, and I guess that's what we're supposed to think.
