That Bigger House He Desires

FlyingSongster offers us another expression in our ongoing series of readers’ thoughts on the primaries and upcoming general election – SusanUnPC (if you wish to submit an essay, e-mail me at susanunpc at gmail dot com with a title, a username, and your text)

Minus any emotionalism, and in full disregard of the negative tactics of the Obama campaign;

Not including his questionable associates, who have serious mental problems, as well as the tendency to exploit their followers with emotional crutches, and fully unreasonable drivel;

Excluding the devastating unfairness of the Democratic party and the MSM, it is clear that Mr. Obama is not qualified for the job. His application is thin. He uses his opposition to the Iraq war as proof of his superior judgment. Unfortunately his argument is of the “I told you so” kind. …

He believes that he should be the Commander in Chief of the military, offering, to this country NO experience, questionable judgment and a wife who for all intents and purposes is not fond of America.

He believes as, so many politicians do, that his advisors will lead him, and that he will make judgments based on the full information he will be given. This country cannot really, at this hour, afford a president, whose most common excuses are “an aide filled that out”, or “this isn’t the man I knew”, to be judging anything based on the committed soldiers in the field.

Barack Obama, has shown highly flawed judgment, which is based on his lack of experience, his pragmatism and his enveloping need to impose his judgment about how our lives should be, while his life, is filled with chaotic characters, at best.

He may believe that another speech will change minds, but to be honest, the only speech he can give, which would make sense to me, and others, is “I resign”. This culminating act of humility might set him on the course of true leadership. Obviously, he has believed that what he learned through organizing in the inner city, has given him insight into how deep his soul is, and how expansive. Yet his large house in the middle of the streets filled with poverty, makes him as culpable as those he criticizes.

I realize that those who support him, will not find in my words, anything of value, because some of you are sitting in those latte hotels, with your own smug ideas of how the world should be; others of you are in your college dorms, with your minds, not yet seasoned with the wisdom of recognizing a figurehead. Some of you have misplaced ideals, and just want to hear something “nice” and comforting.

You want to dream again. But dreams begin not because of our vaporous hopes, or desire to follow others. Dreams are solely the hope of your own soul, acting in concert with reason as well as patience and hard work. No one can take you to the mountaintop, and especially those like Mr. Obama, who has not been there himself.

He needs you, more than you need him … to get to that bigger house he desires.

  • SONIA

He needs you, more than you need him … to get to that bigger house he desires

    yup— You Got that right

AND –LARRY –WE need you -so pls don,t change on us and don,t follow taylor,s footsteps,

  • Obama is a bum

I agree, Obama is not qualified. The cult following of Obama reminds me of Jim Jones. Obama needs to start an Obamatown and leave the USA.

The purpose of the SDs was to prevent a fiasco like Obama from getting nominated. The Democratic party did not have the backbone to go against a black man but they don’t mind thumbing their nose at the rest of us.

If they think I am voting for Obama then they are full of it. I am voting for McCain and if anybody doesn’t like it – tough!

  • jwrjr

Oh, his advisors will lead him alright – in the same way that a lemming is led. The problem being that he will try to take us with him … off of the cliff.

  • grtphoto

I agree, they were scared to go against this man of color. Well, they created a monster. I’ve seen this show before, when they pulled out W I watched in horror, I knew he was a momma’s boy, no real sense of accomplishment etc. It’s happening again, love fest and lying to the Am populace. They did choose him over us. I will never forget and I will never fall in line for the party, I’ve left anyway. I cannot go along with this farce, he is far too dangerous and undeserving. I hope it is true that the DNC coffers are low, they deserve it bunch of sycophantic assholes. I now know for sure, both parties are the same, different labels. This is disgusting. Who are these people who rule everything and ignore the people who get them there? Nothing short of a revolution will ever change American politics. NOBAMA 08.

I agree with your thoughts. It’s about experience.

  • SONIA

    PLS PLS PLS

SEND THANK YOU CARDS TO HILLARYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Marie

Obama supporters truly believe from the botom of their hearts that they can win with new voters, i.e. without us, the Hillary voters.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

I agree with you, but they are so stupid, they didn’t realize that they were constantly doing nothing but spouting off campaign talking points. LOL* What the hell do they know?

He’s going to have real trouble, and I think personally it’ll be generational.

My friend who voted for Hillary will vote for him because of McCain’s age. Me? I’m not as worried about that. 4 years is a place-marker.

  • so saddened

the big house is the perfect place for oblowme. i hope he gets to spend 5 to 10 there.

  • Strawberry

YES!!!!! Spot on! Deja vu all over again. I refuse to eat the cake.

  • rwc

The thing is the DNC, the nutroots and Congressional Democrats wanted Bozo from the beginning. Competency be damned.

They wanted their politically correct, multicultural 3rd world champion and now they have him. Replete with a cult of the personality with millions of mindless followers.

And yeah they rigged the primary system so as to ensure Bozo won. There’s nothing Democratic about the democrat party.

The fact that the party elite were willing to commit election fraud on a state wide scale that would make even Rove and Cheney blush in admiration, shows they regard the Bill of Rights and the Constitution as so much toilet paper.

Bunch of power hungry authoritarians and oligarches.

You can’t reform a party that does a naked power grab like this. You kill it and build a new one.

You need to kill or at least castrate the party before you can build another party to take its place.

Otherwise it will destroy the competition.

You kill it by not funding it, swiftboating its candidates, inciting intraparty fights, etc. And by targeting the pampered boss class in the party.

  • Strawberry

Funney thing, Bill Clinton brought in a ton new voters as well with his MTV appearence, but he also grabbed back the Reagen Democrats AND held the Democratic Base. Man, we gen Xers were lucky to have Bill. All kids have today is Mr Hopey Changy. Poor sots.

  • Hope Floats

Really good election analysis from Jay Cost on RCP. I only read his blog, because he sticks to factual analysis and keeps his writing clean. He is unbiased, in other words, IMO.

WV could potentially be the tie breaker this year. Whatever happens, Obama has a problem with working class whites. McCain needs to hold onto CO and the Appalachian states, and he can win. THen he should build from there, go for NJ, CT and keep NH which has always liked him.

  • Hope Floats

The Republicans face a bear market, because they have a weak incumbent President. BUT… Bush would be more unpopular, if the Dems had gone after him like Nixon. The Democratic Congress now shares the unpopularity Bush presently enjoys. Also, the Dems are banking on the war which happens to be going well now. This year (as with all years) national defense will decide who wins in the fall. Just to review history a little…

1968: Democrats nominate sitting VP Hubert Humphrey, expecting a huge victory because the establishment believed that the anti-war left had no choice but to
support the party. Strong on national defense Richard Nixon won.

1972: Pres. Nixon is universally vilified. Democrats nominate Sen George McGovern, a war hero, expecting a huge victory because the establishment believed that the anti-war left understood the mood of the country. Strong on national defense Richard Nixon won.

1976: Ford is universally ridiculed (Chevy Chase). Democrats nominate Jimmy Carter, a naval veteran and nuclear engineer, a moderate Southern governor, expecting a huge victory because the pardon of Richard Nixon. Carter won.

1980: Democrats nominate sitting President Jimmy Carter, expecting a huge victory because the establishment believed that the left understood the mood of the country. In our malaise, we would never elect a right-wing, militaristic conservative. Strong on national defense Ronald Reagan won.

1984: Democrats nominate Walter Mondale, expecting a huge victory because the establishment believed that the left understood the mood of the country. We were embarrassed by the tax-cutting, “evil empire”- baiting “amiable dunce” in the White House. We would never re-elect a right-wing, militaristic conservative. Strong on national defense Ronald Reagan won in a landslide.

1988: Democrats nominate Mike Dukakis, an intellectual liberal governor of Massachusetts, expecting a huge victory because the establishment believed that the left understood the mood of the country. We were embarrassed by the tax-cutting, “evil empire” – baiting “amiable dunce” in the White House. We would never elect Reagan’s VP. We would never vote for Reagan’s third term. Strong on national defense George Bush won.

1992: Bush is universally ridiculed (“read my lips”). Democrats nominate Bill Clinton, a Rhodes Scholar and sax player, a moderate Southern governor, expecting a huge victory because the establishment believed that the left understood the mood of the country. We were embarrassed by the tax-cutting, Iraq-invading rich patrician “who did not understand the problems of the common people” in the White House. Clinton won.

1996: Clinton was a pretty good President and a great politician who never ceased to campaign for re-election. Republicans nominated Bob Dole, a war hero, but an establishment Senator who never met a farm subsidy he didn’t like. Clinton won.

2000: Democrats nominate sitting VP Al Gore expecting a huge victory because the establishment believed that the Clinton legacy was so strong, the country couldn’t wait to elect his VP. Strong on national defense, compassionate conservative, George W. Bush won. (Electoral College…read the Constitution.)

2004: Democrats nominate John Kerry, an intellectual liberal Senator of Massachusetts, expecting a huge victory because the establishment believed that the left understood the mood of the country. We were embarrassed by the tax-cutting, Iraq -invading idiot in the White House. We would never re-elect Bush the liar, torturer, grasper of executive power, destroyer of civil liberties and shredder of the Constitution. Strong on national defense George W. Bush won.

2008: When the general election campaign begins (you ain’t seen nothin’ yet…) the voters will be presented a stark choice: 2004: Democrats nominate Barak Obama, an intellectual liberal Senator of Illinois, expecting a huge victory because the establishment believes that the left understands the mood of the country. We have been so embarrassed by the tax-cutting, Iraq -invading idiot in the White House. We would never elect anyone from the party of Bush the liar, torturer, grasper of executive power, destroyer of civil liberties and shredder of the Constitution. We would never vote for “Bush’s third term”. Strong on national defense John McCain will win.

    Love to all.

I enjoy Jay’s stuff. It’s detailed, though. I’ll read it in the morning. Thanks.

McCain has a great strategy piece on his site. It essentially says the same. CT was a state that I remember being mentioned as a “fight” state.

Interesting year for remapping. But not in that goofy Obama dream land where he would take back the South.

I mentioned this on another thread, but McCain is actually going to take a whack at CA. He thinks he’s got a shot here due to the Latino base.

    He could be right, too.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

I agree pretty much. I think gross manipulative tactics should be met with realistic and firm responses from voters.

    No, we won’t be bullied.
No, we won’t be guilt-tripped out of rights
No, we won’t allow you to rig the election without consequences.

    Simple stuff.

Everyone is afraid of his money-making machine. I get that. Penn wrote today that it was about money. It was a bad article, but Penn had a good point. However, McCain learned from watching Hillary how to handle this. She won in spite of his extravagent spending on ads and staff. How?

    Old-fashioned shoe-leather. Connect with people. That’s how.

He’s aloof and doesn’t like being up close.

McCain can beat him by exploiting that vulnerability. And it doesn’t cost much at all.

  • comradebillyboy

who the fuck needs another brain dead messianic cult leader. I am a serious atheist. and i don’t follow phony messiah figures who want to lead me over the cliff. I don’t see much difference between obama and jim jones. Hell will freeze over before I rally around a charlatan like 0bama.

Bob Barr in 08 at least he has an honest platform I can support, the normal stupidity of the libertarian party notwithstanding.

  • Northwest rain

What Obama wants (or needs) he ain’t gonna got — no way no how.

  • Northwest rain

Thank you Sonia for the reminder.

I will get one tomorrow and put it in the mail!

  • Northwest rain

Good one! Snort — belly laugh!

Yep — Obama needs a bigger house — with more room mates!

  • http://deleted AnninCa

I’m very spiritual, and I can’t stand it either. Why would one look to a politician for spiritual guidance?

That tells me we should have grounded our children better in this area of life. They are entirely too vulnerable to tent preachers.

  • Northwest rain

I agree — McCain — stronger than snObama on National Security.

snObama almost writes the anti-Obama ads himself.

  • Northwest rain

The last tent preacher meeting I sat through (in a religious college) I had to hang on to my chair because I so wanted to stand up and SCREAM that the fools were being conned. Everyone else was mesmerized by the con man preacher man. At that point I was an observer — not a believer and I could clearly see how the students were being conned. I see the exact same emotional response from the young (and some not so young) to Obama. It is sort of like love — someone who has come to take away all their fears and make everything safe– someone who can be a BIG daddy or BIG brother. “Oh he’s so wonderful” — followed by a big sigh and then the dreamy look. Also the high intensity of the emotional high.

Obama has learned to play with the neurotransmitters in the brains of his followers — and people really are getting a high — he plays with people’s primitive emotional responses.

I respect people who have personal faith and their own private religion — no matter the brand or god.

However, I do NOT want religion forced on me — and this is why Obama is doing — and YES the young college age kids are very vulnerable. This is the age that the cult leaders seek to influence.

Interesting. I’ve actually never been to a tent meeting.

I call it the “warm pee” spirituality.

You’re standing on a corner in a cold wind and pee on yourself. It feels so good, so warm…..until. :)

I’ve often wondered if Obama is even a Democrat, or if most of his supporters are Democrats. When Rove made his strategy of appealing to the Republican base rather than the independants most of them felt the Republican party had abandoned them.
So then they moved to the Democrats and fuelled the rise of most so called left wing blogs, really full of independants. For example Andrew Sullivan, John Cole and Kos were all Republicans. If their base really is independants who care little about Democratic values, then Obama as their candidate really has not much interest in Democratic policies. He gets the black vote because blacks vote for one of their own, like it or not, so he doesn’t really need to give them anything traditionally Democratic.
For examples he doesn’t talk about helping blacks at all, raising the minimum wage, and his policies on health care look like they could be discarded as well.
In effect he is running for a third party base, like the Social Democrats in Britain, except he edged out the Democratic nominee in Hillary to do it. I think Hillary should run as a third party candidate so Democrats get a voice in the race again.
If you don’t believe this then try an experiment. Go to Daily Kos and try to run a diary or comment on traditional Democratic values and they will either close you down or label you a concern troll. They simply are not Democrats in the traditional definition of the term.

    THE DAILY CALL TO ACTION

As Minnow stated, “We are now engaged in the battle for the hearts, minds and souls of America.” We, along with many of the Clinton Nation are foot soldiers in an army that for the next 80 days has one purpose; ending the candidacy of Barry Pampers OBonds and placing the popular vote, and legitimate pledged delegate leader in her rightful place as Presumptive Nominee of the Democratic Party. One weapon at our disposal is what we are calling The Daily Call to Action.

Every day we will post one thing you can do to help the cause. It might be a call to the DNC. It might be emailing the SDs in your state. Whatever it is, the key to success is that everyone performs the Daily Action, and gets everyone in their network of Clinton supporters to do it as well, and they tell two friends and they tell two friends and so on and so on and so on. All the Daily Actions will be simple to do, inexpensive or free, take very little time, and won’t require any special tech abilities. And of course, the Daily Action is obviously not the only thing you can do – it’s just a place to start.

We will be letting the DNC, the super delegates, and the Pampers campaign know that we are not going to be good little boys and girls. We will not let a wholly and totally unqualified, morally bankrupt fascist pretender to be shoved down our throats. Not now. Not ever. We hope you will participate in the Daily Action Campaign. Together we can change the face of American politics.

The Daily Action is being put together by LAMusing and Shtuey. When you see either of us on the blog, please give us suggestions! We are in this together!

DAILY CALL TO ACTION: ALL HANDS ON DECK!

18 million hands – send them to the DNC!

    1. Trace your hands on an 8×11 sheet of paper. Make it colorful to grab attention.
    2. Write your name and city/state in the center of your hands and the words “I am one of 18 million.”
    3. Above the hands, write: “These hands are on the front lines of democracy. I pledge I will not vote for Obama.”
    4. Below the hands, write a line or two about your reasons you won’t vote for BO, why you are upset with the DNC, or whatever stirs your soul. We suggest you keep it fairly brief for maximum impact.
    5. Put it in an envelope and send it off to the DNC.
    Democratic National Committee
    430 S. Capitol St. SE
    Washington, DC 20003
    6. Pass it on!!! Post this call to arms wherever you can! Let’s bombard the DNC with the millions of hands of the voters they dismissed, ignored, disenfranchised and belittled. And remember the old saying – “Many hands make light work.”

Special note if you live in Florida: Make it just half a hand! Let them know you’d like to be a whole person again.

Good. Part of it, is, political campaigns, today, are run by advertising executives, and, they use the campaign, the same way, they would market, a commercial product.

I think, you missed, that. Aside, from that, I have only, one further, objection. Otherwise, it’s a great, convincing, article, totally, spot on.

This is the age that the cult leaders seek to influence.

And what a job they’ve done. But he’s also started his own Hitlerjugend. That guy is all out scary. And must be stopped. I don’t want that person near a nuclear trigger.
