A New Party Emerged

A new essay on the tumultuous primary and general elections of 2007 and 2008, all submitted by our readers – SusanUnPC || Blog: New Wave Democrats

The old democratic party has proven itself Fascist.

Democratic voters selected Hillary Clinton as their nominee for ‘08. But the corrupt DNC appointed their own nominee.

The Democratic voters do not find the DNC choice acceptable, and are appalled that our votes were not considered.

The DNC is old school, corrupt politics as usual. We are breaking out of their web into the FRESH NEW LIGHT OF DEMOCRACY.

At the November General Election we will WRITE IN the candidate that WE THE VOTERS HAVE CHOSEN. Her name is Hillary Rodham Clinton, a hero, a fighter, and destined to become the Greatest President in the History of the United States of America.

YES to Democracy!
NO to Fascism!

  • ObamaNation of Desolation

The DNC, by its very own choice, has started the process which will relegate itself into the dustbin of history. The two parties have shown that they’ve outlived their usefulness. I agree with Obama on this, it’s time for a change. But, guess what? He’s not it.

  • so saddened

yes to democracy. no to fascism. agree.

write in hillary – don’t agree. not if you’re in a state that’s even remotely in play.

the only way to defeat obama is to vote for mccain.

if you prefer obama, go ahead and write in hillary.

if, like me, you don’t want obama anywhere near the white house, vote for mccain.

(all of this assuming that obama does end up as the nominee).

obama and brazile and the rest of them are COUNTING ON us just writing in hillary or voting third party or staying home. if we do that, he will win.

    • cc

I agree…this is the time we have to send a clear and convincing message to the DNC that their atrocious behavior will not be tolerated. I’ve already donated to McCain and will happily volunteer and vote for him in November.

      • PadrePio

Then stop wasting time here and call the DNC (202-863-8000). Why become Republicans? Let’s take back our party. I know it’s easy to say calling will just get you the run around but if their lines are jammed with angry Democrats they will at least have to confront their mistake, and Bambi’s thugs that are in position at the DNC will understand that their Messiah is in trouble come November. Flood the DNC’s lines demanding to speak with Howard Dean to complain about the party being hijacked by the far left wing of the party. Demand that the all Democrat’s women, blue color workers, rural, seniors, Latinos, and Asians Americans are represented.

    • anti-silth

Do you realize that trying to convince people that they should not vote for who they think they’re the best is just tricky politics? Why don’t you try something fresh, and tell them why McCain is better than Hillary or Nader or even Obama.

You are merely saying, that people should do what a party says, or the world will fall apart.
That’s not correct in the least, and the opposite of true. Sitting by and letting a few minority elitists decide our choices between bad or worse is a farce.

I’m for Nader, but if anybody sees Hillary as the better candidate, I can see their reasons. She represents the best of the old system, not just a fake best, the real best. I do regret that she has to play their game though, and sadly, quietly support Obama these days.

Anything to break out of this web of mental dictators and trained slaves propogating the idea that in a republic who’s representives are supposed to represent, you have to first limit your choices to two groomed, imaginary options. Voting for McCain is no defense against fascism or militarism or corporate control or any of the reasons we may not prefer Obama. His only difference is he’ll come out killing, instead of wishy washy buildup.

      • DJ

Have you ever tried to talk to these Obama people..they are so drunk on the Kool-Aid they will not even take the time to listen. All they know how to do is call you names or if that doesn’t wwork they try mind games. They will have to learn the hard way. They don’t care about all the RADICAl stuff Obama is connected with, they are too busy down on their knees looking in awe at their savior “THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS”. No it is best to say “KISS OFF DNC & OBAMA…I’M VOTING FOR MCCAIN!!!”

I’m very eager to find a solution I can live with. I’m disgusted and dismayed by what I witnessed this primary season. From the unprecedented lack of respect and sexist bullying of a U.S. Senator and former First Lady on behalf of the press, to the vitriol and pure hatred from the Obama camp, to the final Fascist moves by the DNC in redistributing delegates to make sure their choosen candidate had the number need to claim a specious victory. There is NO WAY I’m going to be assimilated, and condone this cruel farce by voting for Obama. Yet McCain makes my stomach turn too (though not quite as much).

I want to write in Hillary. But I’m hearing that if we do that, it won’t have an impact. I’m hearing that what will work to thwart Obama and the DNC is voting for the other Fascist party, and McCain.

We should try to come to a consensus, so that whatever we do, we do it in a huge way that has significant punch. The Disenfranchised in Unity! How can we pull this all together?

    • http://deleted AnninCa

I think each of us has to find our own solution. It will emerge over the next few months.

I don’t think we have to be identical.

Go to.. Democrats for McCain… or… EX-Hillary Clinton Supporters for John Mccain…their numbers are growing fast

Obama’s campaign works overtime to downplay his association with Ayers, but he was more than an acquaintance. It shows, as I hope I demonstrated, horrific judgement. Between Rezko, Wright and Ayers, Obama will never be President. What I hope is the dem party will not take itself over a copied this from a linfar comment responding to a reader’s comment on one of her articles on savagepolitics.

(delete quotes to get to link)

what i find of timely interest about this is linfar’s recent decision to support obama.

it demonstrates just the sort of danger our party is in. even those who have written accurately and eloquently against obama are now supporting him.

    motivation unknown. pattern highly disturbing.

    • so saddened

quote got shortened somehow. rest was about her hoping the party doesn’t take itself over a cliff for obama.

anyway, the point is that, as we’ve seen way too much, pressure is everywhere, obama thuggery is everywhere, and people are climbing on the obama bandwagon despite their beliefs that he is oh so wrong for oh so many reasons. it’s frightening.

      • http://Owllwoman E Stoddard

It is called Brainwashing. Obama is using Bush’s campaign tactics from 2000. But there is a few months before the elections and Americans may just catch on. This was to simple to figure out and yet, the left wing of the Party was fooled. Part of that occured because so many new people hit the blogs and started using Bush tactics against Hillary, encourged by Obamas campaign. So here we sit, in a mess, and only God knows how this plays out.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Could it be that linfar’s posts which were so great come from the same kind rigidity that you see from Obama supporters?

      Just a guess….she/he doesn’t tolerate ambiguity well.

That often fuels writing with a lot of clarity. But it doesn’t hold up well in the gray spaces.

She/he may just not be able to handle the times when she’s unsure, searching, etc.

I wouldn’t worry. People vote. That’s the deal here. This season was tight as a drum, so every vote was challenged. We’re a divided society, so it makes sense in a way.

America is going through a very interesting stage. It’s reflected in our politics.

The power-mongers will not win, I predict.

There’s just too much true spirit and authentic feelings left.

We can be afraid of corporatism, but notice how people caught on and didn’t go with the flow.

      That’s inspiring to me, anyway.

  • Schiete Zick

I call for a party reorganization and resignation of the party leadership. They let us down. They failed to have a plan that would work. I just finished putting together my blog page where I fuse my anger with humor, but the message still comes across. badbusinessgoodbusiness.com.

Let’s organize “the million new democrats march” on the convention. I can volunteer to organize.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Gotta vote em’ out. Do it the hard way. Find the challengers with promise. Send them money. A march won’t do it.

      • standard

A march will be very, very nice.
And it would sure scare the s*t out of ‘em.

Count on one thing: the media will give you 1 second of coverage, so have plenty of You Tube videos made.

CNN wouldn’t send a single camera to the 1,000 person demonstration against the Bush coup in 2000.

It was funny this sweet little Iraqi student loaned me a quarter to use the pay phone to scream at CNN to get someone over.

He was demonstrating to get the US to help Iraqi children from being hurt by our boycott.

At any rate, CNN pretty much said “get f*ked. We don’t cover real news.”

    • cc

I want to see a strong, third party evolve, one that represents middle, rational america. the extremists on both sides have now hijacked our parties. we must vote them out.

      • standard

This is true. While middle class America is hard at work, the Kidz and the Krazies get in an take over.

  • NeinObama

Hypothetically we get 2 votes when we vote for McCain:

The one for McCain, and the one we denied Obama.

The latter being the one that Obama very early on said he was sure he could get from HRC supporters, and added he doubted HRC could get those of his supporters.

I plan to make good use of “both” of mine, as do my family and friends.

Writing Hillary in would be pleasing, but I am afraid it might not be enough. I want to soundly defeat Obama, so will not take that chance.

    • so saddened

      ditto.

and obama being sure we’d support him but not sure his supporters would support hillary is just one of the many indications of his absurd level of arrogance that makes him unfit.

    • Lucy Wolphat

If you write someone in on the November ballot, for instance Senator Clinton, you’d better check your state voting laws. In my state, if Senator Clinton is not registered as a write-in, the vote is counted Democratic and it goes to OBAMA….no if ands or buts. Each state has their own rules so please don’t take that chance…check your individual laws and take no chances, vote for McCain…you would not believe the former Clinton supporters who have gone over to McCain since the DNC handed the nomination to Obama last week.
Again, check your states laws…please. They are counting on a lot of voters just writng Senator Clinton in on the ballot, because of the laws and then they get the vote..she has to signed up as a write in, at least in my state and even then we don’t know what the DNC could do between now and then to change the laws..to benefit their choice.Just don’t risk it. Vote for McCain just to be sure.

  • bigfoot

Obama got close to 60% here in Texas at the state convention.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Texas is Republican, so that chapter is closed. Texas was the best argument for Hillary ever that caucuses are inherently unfair. She won the primary. No doubt about it. And that’s a tough state to win, too, due to the geographic and the diverse population.

So the caucus outcome is sure proof that they are unfair and not representative of the “will of the people.”

Why not setup a new part – Progressive Party of America?

    • so saddened

imo, the obamaloons have coopted the term “progressive” and distorted it beyond recognition.

i think we need a new party. am just not sure progressive is the best name, given the obamaloons’ bullshit.

      • NeinObama

I agree so saddened, what the hell is a “progressive” these days?

If the Obama “wing” is progressive, then I must be regressive, which is OK with me. Anti-Obama regardless of the label.

Guess I only fit into an “Old Damn Democratic Party” milieu.

        • cc

the name needs to reflect the center, moderate, independent, heart of America…strength, patriotism, values..we need to brainstorm a name.

        • http://cannonfire.blogspot.com Joseph Cannon

Progressive means “Libertarian” in the current context.

      • roseeriter

I agree with so saddened. The progressive term was used (and abused in my opinion) at dkos. When I first went to the evil orange after the Gore/Bush fiasco it was a Democratic site, then Kos changed it to Progressive, now its labeled as a liberal site. I ran into lots of “Progressive Republicans” over there too, during the start of the Hillary Hatred and bullying started.

I’m beginning to think its turned into completely something else A Hate, Misogynist and Lie Blog.

If Obama wins nothing will change and things will only get worse. Obama and his cronyism will be the new face of the party and the Clintons will be out. The media will be even more brash in their selecting candidates and political coverage. Soros-type people will be far more empowered than ever in their ability to manipulate American democracy. If you really want to prevent this from happening again you need to send a loud message to all involved. Obama needs to lose, and lose BIG. Obama’s defeat is Hillary’s victory. The bigger his defeat the bigger her victory. The larger his loss the louder the message.

John McCain is very much in the center, in fact most conservatives see him as a democrat who is only technically a republican. Take the time to write John McCain’s campaign, tell them your ready to defect and voice your concerns regarding any issue that’s important to you.

A wasted vote is a vote for Obama:

      excellent idea!

I have been a democrat all my life. I could not stand the Republicans because they would keep telling their people what to think. Now the DNC started this as well. They want us to believe that we are voting for a black man when with that logic you might as well call him white. Plus from my point of view once skin color has very little to do with a persons race. Its not like this guy grew up in the inner city of Chicago. I am going independent this November if the DNC does not come to its senses an elects HC in August.

Actually, if you put in Hillary Clinton’s name they’ll count it as a vote for Obama so don’t do that! Vote for McCain. That’s the only way to ensure that Obama won’t get the presidency.

    • Nobama karen for Clinton

The thing that give me a huge sigh of relief is when the obamabutts show up at their polling places in November – guess what they will see.

A whole bunch of No Non-sense Republicans at each and every single polling station.

Their voter registration will be checked in the books and there will be no electioneering or strong arming. The newthugs will meet the OLD thugs.

And the Old thugs will teach them a lesson or two.

      • roseeriter

I think the old thugs already taught them well. Bushco has bullied the world to death and has never been held accountable. Why did the Dems not go for Impeachment? That will never sit well with me.

“Murder, Lie, Cheat, Steal= Free pass.

How about the “Moderate Party”? That is where most of the country falls – and I’ve been advocating this since 2004! “progressive” won’t attract moderate Republicans.

Actually, this is perfect opportunity if John McCain and Hillary Clinton had the courage to step away from their own parties, run as Moderates, and REALLY establish a permanent majority, leaving the far right and the far left on the fringes!

Won’t happen, but I can dream!

    • Kevin

      Thats a good idea.
Another is the Sensible party, to differentiate from the silly party and the very silly party.(sorry, had to throw the Monty Python’s Flying Circus reference in, seems apt)

  • Joe Smith

I would love to see a ticket with a democrat and republican. It would be fun to watch the news media trying to make sense of it all. I think until we have a centrist party we will never have unity in this country.

  • http://penitent-thief.blogspot.com/ LBJ’s Love Child

We are going to have to look long and hard at this.

The Democratic Party has outlived its purpose. As its New Deal coalition got thinner and thinner, it began to rely on AAs to prop up White Liberals (some consider me a White Liberal) in office. But the party moved AHEAD of the people it supposedly represented… always counting on an urban core of “colors” (Blacks, Greens, Pinks, and Pinkos) that would guarantee re-election. The Democratic Party ghettoized itself.

The irony, and the key to Obama’s solidarity with AAs, is that the Democrats really didn’t do a good job representing Blacks in America. The Democrats became enablers of a community of under-achievement, because the “Civil Rights” struggle was the goose that laid the golden egg, much like the “Right to Life” fight was for the GOP.

But with Obama, 90+% of AAs justifiably see this as “Our Time”.

The repercussions of Obama’s success OR failure are huge… not just for the Democratic Party, but for the democratic process and America herself.

    • workingclass artist

Hmmm……Interesting since it was FDR that brought AA’s into the democratic party during his first election. The majority of AA’s had voted reliably Lincoln since reconstruction. Hoover and the Great Depression changed all that. Remarkable the similarities between now and then….globally speaking of course….
Trucker strike in Spain is a wake up call….and if History serves then what happens in Europe points to disturbing and familiar trends….

  • Linda C.

I would like to get verification that a write in for Hillary Clinton will be counted as a vote for Barak Obama. I don’t understand the logic of this and don’t see how it is feasible or within election law. It maybe feasible within the DNC rulz, but not general election. All of the write-ins and uncommitted were simply given to Obama by the rulz committee. It was also never stated whether or not all of those 30k write-ins were for Barak Obama in the first place. They were not counted to Barak Obama by the state of Michigan.

BTW, Obama has never stated that he was a democrat, but something different. It is no surprise that he now considers the party “his”. He simply bought it.

    • Kevin

      Linda,
What I would suggest is that you contact your Sec.State’s office (mine has yet to return my e-mail, too busy rigging the repub priomary so Sen. Kerry has a weaker opponent)

  • Poor White

The DNC leaders are prasing Obama for getting so many new members to the democratic party but what about the millions of life long democrats leaving the party?

  • latent energy

We shall remember those who dared to defy the democratic voters- the DNC’s bosses.

This is the new Millennium, the 21st century where information and communication technology is available easily at every corner of America.

Just applying a tip of the finger, all the scandals of the over indulging politicians shall be disseminated.

There were so many top politicians being booted out… no, the voters- the bosses, didn’t have to boot them out. They resigned by themselves on their own accord because they knew they couldn’t hold on to their jobs and no way they could remain in office with their scandals being revealed.

Now our Voice is being ignored. Can you imagine that, the bosses’ Voice was being ignored by all these ignorant politicians who were elected by their bosses?

How dare these public servants of the DNC ignoring the bosses’ Voice?

The Voice will determine who will be the Commander in Chief, and not some public servants from the DNC.

The Voice wants a hard working Commander in Chief to fulfill the aspirations of the bosses starting from day 1 and not some dilly-dally commander in chief who spends times holidaying in the white house doing some fancy parties all night long.

Come November, the Voice will be heard, period.

I love Hillary. My first disillusionment with the Democrats was during the voter fraud to Gore, he bowed out and said the people had spoken, and they had not, and it seemed like he knew better. I later decided he was a chump anyway, but many things made it clear fraud. Next, they supported much of Bush’s propagana and policies.

Can you tell me how Hillary is better than Nader? I know she is packs ahead of Obama or McCain in being good for America and experience practicing what she preaches. McCain practices what he preaches, I just don’t like either. When people buy Democrat, she is kind of person on the label, and not this Obama bait and switch.

However, I am sick of both parties monopolizing politics, and am wondering if the DNC is salvagable. Plus, all this false advertising with Obama has me thinking it could really be time for change, which Nader represents to me.

Either way, I refuse to be mentally manipulated into cowering into just choosing what stick I’m going to be poked with. You have to choose, Obama or McCain. Bullcrap.

I would like to know, please, from people who seem very in the know, how is Hillary better than Nader for America?

    • roseeriter

I really like Nader. Always have. I know I can’t vote for Nobama or McCain so Nader will be a choice, unless something miraculous happens before November.

  • james

Just a quickie – I think the 90% AA thing is false. Just look for all the “Uncle Tom” websites out there.

Blacks have been through a lot of false promises, and many see, right through BO. Their voice is no more heard now than any other time, I suppose though. The Democrats put forth their own solution and ignore radical realists.

Cindy McCain will wipe the floor with Michelle’s mink coats.

Although John can be controversial because many republicans here in AZ believe he is more democratic than republican, his wife is loved and respected.

Cindy was vice president of her family’s beer distributing business, worked in that position for years. Recently her Mother passed away and Cindy became CEO. She WORKS at a REAL job even though she is wealthy.

She is articulate, experienced, attractive, devoted to her husband and family……and remember as Cindy told us after Michelle’s infamous statement, Cindy is proud of her country!

A vote for McCain means gridlock. The 18% approval rating usless democratic congress, the elitist democrats who manipulated the primary and stole the election from Hillary will be GRIDLOCKED!!

  • Nina

Before writing in Hillary on the ballet check with your state. My state doesn’t allow you to write in the name of a candidate that lost the primary. Some states give your write-in votes to the candidate that gets the most votes. Please make sure you vote counts.

We CAN NOT give up on the Democratic Party, just Obama and the DNC running it now. They are just like the bully at school who comes in and terrorizes the other students and make life hell. The best thing to do is to get rid of the bully by everyone fighting back. I see this as a fight for OUR country. Obama and his “PACK” want to take over and shove their RADICAL views down our throats but we CAN’T let them.
Writing in Hillary isn’t going to work, I have read in several sites that those votes go to Obama. I and my family are voting for MCCAIN. He is in the center.
It would not surprise me if you see Obama try to go that way too, but it will just be a ploy to trick us.I just heard of TV they are prepared for attacks on his witch of a wife…they must know the “WHITEY”

How to become a Fascist Leader 101

    1) Write a book so folks can ‘get to know you’.
    2) Get a good look and people will call you a ‘charismatic leader’.
    3) Hijack the media. It helps if you have wealthy friends in high places.
    4) Encourage the youth to propagate your message. Pay them if necessary.
    5) Get some good ideas and suggest everyone listen. If there are those that don’t immediately understand your ideas, you can try the following:
    a) Ask why they aren’t on board with these concepts.
    b) Insult and cajole them into understanding.
    c) Manhandle only in an emergency, such as that of verbal dissent in a public arena

Let us ask the former Pres Bill Clinton to start a Centrist Party of America. That will appeal to a lot of moderate americans. People can’t stand any extremist ideology anymore. Right wing or Liberal ideology is divisive for America.

The center is the one holding this country together.

Maybe we do need to start over, since the two existing parties have turned into twisted reflections of each other.
The Republican Party has turned into a corporate welfare state.
The Democrats have turned into bully fascists of their own party (and maybe the world).
Of course, they’re both both, but still.

Maybe Hillary can start a “Real Democrat”, and Nader can start a “Real Republican” party.

Originally, didn’t Democrat mean more rule by the people, and Republican mean less rule by the government? It’s confusing because they turned into rival gangs with a strangle hold over American politics by an elite minorit, or were they always that?

Ron Paul is hosting a separate convention in Minneapolis the same week as the Republican convention.

Does Denver have a second convention site available sometime in August?

    Just asking…
